Further similar work by one of my favourite printmakers. Bryan Nash Gill salvaged wood from yards nearby his house, bringing them home in the back of his truck to his studio where he created woodcut prints to reveal the beauty within things if we retune our perspective and look more closely, and the importance of sustainability and resourcefulness (2007).

I chose this artist because I like the way he does the prints he. also I  like he does prints in different colours. Also I like the pattern what the wood creates. The way he uses the tree trunks pattern is something what done before but he also uses the outside thicker and rougher surface of the trunk what gives an interesting wonky outline. Also he burns the cut surface of the trunk so the artist uses the burned surface to create the print he wanted to. I can use this technique in my project by doing this kind of pattern in a fabric design or other surfaces.

That ludicrous 42” bar on my chainsaw WAS totally necessary. We pulled a 2000lb slice off of a felled eucalyptus in the canyon. Measuring a flat surface to ink around 42x60inches.
