Week 6

Processing final 

This is my star city-scape. I loved creating this artwork, and whilst it’s not as pattern based as other work i think it’s really cool as it could be adapted to be a generative background for a computer! 

I chose to use a blue background and i adapted the “lights” to be slightly yellow to give the impression that it is actually a sky and then a city. I shrunk the size of the lights/stars because they generated too fast (even with the value on 0,1) and they covered the background in a grey/yellow tone which wasn’t what i wanted. 

For this to be effective i do think that the stars would need to completely fade into the background and then reappear but slowly (i found i could do this when it was fast enough but then it hurt your eyes and didn’t give the star filled sky image i wanted). 

I didn’t change the building because i found it so hard to get right initially. I would of loved to create little lights in the building that fades in and out, which i could of tried with the same code as the stars but i wasn’t sure how to get it into the parameters of each building!
