A visit to Bukhansan National Park for Korea's Independence Movement Commemmoration Day. It has generally been pretty warm recently, so the snow is all gone from the more Southerly facing slopes, but there is still plenty on the North facing slopes, and today brought a little arctic blast to remind us that winter isn't over yet.

Where Stray Kids Would Take You in Seoul - Maknae Line
Jisung - Suyeon Mountain Tea Room (수연산방) and Bukhansan National Park
Tumblr media
Bukhansan is the tallest mountain in Seoul and sits to the north of the city. It is surrounded by a national park and has a number of different trails that can be walked or hiked. Seoul also holds a number of traditional tea houses, Suyeon Mountain Tea Room isn’t far from Bukhansan and has beautiful views of their garden year round.
Of course he knows you want to see the sites around Seoul but Jisung would love to show you some of the quieter, calmer sites. He’d also be able to show you just how beautiful the country is. Walking through the park you’d have plenty of time to chat and enjoy the hopefully fresh air Seoul has terrible air quality y’all while you look for good views along the trail. He’d be sure to take photos of you in all of the pretty spots you find and would probably snap some sneaky ones of you while you’re looking at the views, the nature, or taking your own pictures and if you look at his lock screen tomorrow you’ll see one of them. After that you’ll head down to the tea room for a rest, enjoying the atmosphere and some tea after a lot of walking.
Felix - Biking and a Picnic in Olympic Park
Tumblr media
Olympic park is a large park in southeast Seoul. It holds a number of walking trails, museums, gyms and stadiums, art and flower gardens, and bike roads. It’s also literally right next to the JYP building hence why multiple members have vlogged there. Also we’ve all seen Felix’s biking vlogs, yes? Yes of course we have so you know where this came from
Felix’s first thought would be to take you somewhere pretty but close that he knows well. He knows that you can truly spend all day in Olympic Park and even continue to some longer trails around the area if you did end up getting bored. He’d start off the day by packing up a picnic lunch full of kimbap and fruit and some homemade brownies before you go to rent bikes. He’d make sure your helmet is on snuggly before you take off on the bikes, riding around the trails and stopping at any particularly nice views or gardens to take pictures. Once you’ve worked up an appetite he’d take you to the picnic grounds and lay out a picnic mat before pulling out all of the food. You’d spend the next while chatting and eating while he eagerly asks about your favourite parts of your visit so far. You'd finish off the day by walking up some of the trails and getting some pretty views of Lotte Tower and the setting sun.
Seungmin - Exploring Gyeongbokgung in Hanbok
Tumblr media
Gyeongbokgung is the largest of the palaces in Seoul. The beautiful grounds include both lots of information about the history of Korea and the lives of royal families as well as stunning views and gorgeous historic architecture. It’s very common for Koreans and foreigners alike to rent hanbok and explore the palace to take pictures.
Seungmin’s reasoning for taking you to the palace would be two fold. You’d start the day by going in, taking a tour and checking out one of the museums. He’d tell you anything else he knew about the history and would get so happy when you start asking questions about it or Korean culture, very happy to tell you all he knew. After stopping for lunch he’d take you to rent hanbok, smiling so brightly seeing you in it and then take you back to the palace. You’d spend the afternoon exploring the grounds with Seungmin snapping tons of photos of you, some posing and some candid. His heart would be bursting the whole time, loving how nice you look and seeing you interact with and take part in his culture. He’d also make sure to ask someone to take pictures of the both of you in some of the prettiest spots around the palace grounds.
Jeongin - Lotte World
Tumblr media
Lotte World is a theme park in the southeast of Seoul. There is a large indoor section to the park as well as an outdoor section with a small island and some of the larger, outdoor rides. One fun quirk of Lotte World is for people to rent school uniforms (or school-like uniforms such as the produce series uniforms) for their visit to the park.
Jeongin would enjoy taking you somewhere fun. He’d get excited just looking up all the things you can do at the park and planning out what to ride and when. He’d definitely ask if you’d like to get uniforms, trying to convince you with a cute pout and telling you how cute the pictures would be. In between riding rides and playing games he’d make sure to snap lots of pics of the two of you in any cute or pretty spots you find. He’d just love spending a day with you having fun and being silly and enjoying yourselves. He’d definitely end the day with a walk around Seokchon lake as the sun sets.

Seoul - Explore the Paradise of South Korea
The Blue House... the Presidents Abode
The Blue House of Seoul not just offers historically enriching facts but also gives you verdant gardens for your eyes to savor upon. The blue tile on the ceiling of the building is where it gets its name from. The architecture is typically Korean in style. If visited on Saturday morning, you may have the opportunity to enjoy the military band performance outside the Blue House premises. This Blue beauty is set with the background of the mighty Mount Bugaksan which simply enhances its splendor.
Hongdae... and its Nightlife Buzz
The Hongdae district encompassing Seoul's Hongik University is best known for its happening nightlife. This is the major reason why tourists frequent this area. Come, and rediscover the youth in yourself with the dance and jazz of the streets adorned with its night charm. It scores well as one of the must-visit Seoul attractions. The streets are packed with exciting pubs and nightclubs. The music raging out of the Karaoke hubs will keep you engaged all night without realizing that the dawn has knocked. Yes! It is that engaging.
Mt Bukhan... Hike your Heart Out
Overlooking the Seoul city, Mt Bhukhan which is commonly known as Bukhansan is a prominent mountain landmark. It is also associated with the Bukhansan National Park. For all the nature enthusiasts out there, this spot is famous for rock climbers as well as bird watchers. So, hire a car to the foothill and start off with your happy trek on Saturdays and Sundays. The base is packed with aromatic food counters enticing your appetite. So after a tiring hike, you can simply indulge in some gastronomical affair!
Namdaemun Market... A Shoppers Paradise
This famous market dates back to the 1960's. When in Seoul, you cannot really miss shopping goodies from the Namdaemun Market. By the way it is also the best place to try out the lip smacking variations of local street food. You can buy souvenirs for loved ones back home. It specializes in Korean handicrafts gifts. Unlike the pricey markets this place offers stuff within your budget.
Trickeye Museum... Home to Optical illusion
Right at the heart of the Hongdae nightlife you will find this museum that is true to its name as it plays various tricks with the eyes. This museum uses the techniques whereby you will be transported to the world of 3D while glancing at a 2D image. Have you ever imagined the concept of interactive art? This museum guarantees not to disappoint you with its innovations. It's a place to visit especially if you are a photographer in search of novel subjects. Visit to Trickeye Museum is definitely amongst the top fun things to do in Seoul.

What Are South Korea's Famous Tourist Attractions and Activities?
Gyeongju
Korea's ancient capital, Gyeongju, is the country's big must-see, and rates as one of the ten most important ancient cultural cities in the world. In among the shops and markets in the modern-day city you'll find abundant relics of its two-thousand-year history, including colossal fifth-century tombs and burial mounds, a seventh-century stone observatory, and the royal pleasure gardens of Anapji, which were designed in 674 AD. Other quarters of Gyeongju are rich with elegant pagodas and historic wooden Buddhist temples, and numerous trails take you to the slopes of the sacred mountain, Nam-san, which dominates the south of the city.
Hiking in the national parks
South Korea is full of exhilarating national parks, all of which are crisscrossed by clearly marked trails and dotted with good camping spots (and the occasional mountain hut). The cream of the crop is Seorak-san, and in particular Naeseorak (Inner Seorak), an exceptionally tranquil stretch of forested peaks, rivers, waterfalls and Buddhist temples - and some established rock climbs too. Also well worth seeking out are Jiri-san, which boasts a 65-kilometre-long ridge trail and lots of historic temples; the popular and fairly gentle trails of Songni-san; and Bukhansan, which is on the edge of Seoul.
Seoul
South Korea's modern day capital has a reasonable number of sights to keep you entertained for a few days. Most interesting are the five imposing royal palaces, some of which date back to the fifteenth century. Inside the Changdokkung Palace you'll find one of South Korea's loveliest gardens, the Piwon, a beautifully landscaped haven of ponds and pavilions. In the modern part of town, check out the Kimchi Museum, dedicated to fiery pickled cabbage that is South Korea's national dish, browse the cutting-edge Leeum Museum of Modern Art, and spend the evening in the trendy nightlufe district of Sinchon.
Panmunjeom
On the 38th parallel, the 1953 ceasefire line between North and South Korea - a four-kilometre-wide strip of land spiked with guardposts - is still in force today, and the village of Panmunjeom, which stands on the DMZ just 56km north of Seoul, is a popular day-trip from the capital. Unless you can afford the cost of joining an organized tour around North Korea, this is the closest you can get to the repressive, desperately impoverished totalitarian state. There's no border crossing here (or anywhere between the two countries) but Panmunjeom attracts busloads of tourists, all of whom required to dress smartly (No jeans, T-shirts or miniskirts) and, if male, to have a respectable haircut!
The Korean Folk Village
It may sound like a coach tour nightmare, but the Korean Folk Village is well worth a day-trip from Seoul, especially if you've not got time to explore the rest of the country. A reconstruction of a typical nineteenth-century village, it's complete with Buddhist temple, Confucian school, pottery and weaving workshops, blacksmiths and traditional farmhouses. The people you see in the village do actually live and work there, even if they might look like actors dolled up in traditional outfits.
Jeju-do
This southern island has maintained traditions that have long disappeared from the mainland and is now a popular tourist destination as well as a favorite with local honeymooners. Highlights here include mysterious Easter Island-like statues, hikes to the summit of Halla-san (South Korea's highest volcano), and a seven-kilometer-long lava-tube cave. The climate down here is warmer and wetter that in the rest of the country, but don't come specifically foe the beaches, as you'll find them crowded and disappointingly scruffy

I still haven't recovered from namjoon and kaya 😭😭😭 I want to be so mad at him but i'm sure he already hates himself a bit for doing this to her 😢 can you write something for them in happier times pretty please?? maybe the first time they met? i love them so much your honor 💔💔
He does, he really does :( oof, the first time they met would hit so hard right now in these times of breakups and sadness. I can add it to the backlog though, but in summary, they met in a bookstore where they both reached for the last English copy of Norwegian Wood.
She didn't know who he was but her cousin Jae-lin (makes an appearance in Seoul) knew instantly but kept her mouth shut. Namjoon insisted Kaya have the book but at the last minute when she was paying, she left the copy for him to take. She gave him a ride home after that, having an inkling that he might be famous when she saw where he lived, and Jae-lin spilled the beans later that night.
They met the next day at the same bookstore where Namjoon apologised with amusement and they went to a museum and lunch together, where he asked her out. Their first date the next day was a trail in Bukhansan National Park where they shared their first kiss (read the excerpt here!), fooled around in the car later and said goodbye.
Fun fact: this copy of Norwegian Wood is what is in the package that Namjoon gives Kaya in Aphrodite, on her last night in Seoul <3
