2: Imagine a lightbulb over your head. When you are mentally stimulated that bulb lights up. This lets you focus on whatever activity you're engrossed with. [a fox has a lightbulb over their head, which turns on and sheds light on the book they’re reading.]

My problem is, I don't have just one lightbulb. So even if one lightbulb is lit up, I have other lightbulbs that are not. This makes it hard to focus on the task put before me. It creates this feeling of being under stimulated. [the bird has four dim lightbulbs above their head, and then one lightbulb is lit, barely shedding light on the piece of paper they’re staring at. They mutter “Come on. Just focus already.”

3: When under stimulated, even things I actively enjoy I find too difficult to focus on. Often I need multiple sources of stimulation just to focus on one task. [They have one lightbulb lit and are reading a book. “Come on, you've read this page five times now.” Then they are happily reading with headphones on and blowing bubblegum.]

This is where I run into my other problem with focus. Too many sources of stimulation but not enough lightbulbs end up blinding me. When it feels like everything is vying for my attention it quickly causes over stimulation. [They frantically look every direction as they are bombarded with notification pop ups and someone off screen yelling “hey!”]

4: The hardest part of all of this? I don't know how many lightbulbs I have at any given moment. I never really know until I start adding or removing sources of stimulation. [The bird has three dark lightbulbs over their head, then gloomily holds them in their arms, where there are now six dim bulbs.]

This makes committing to plans a very daunting task at times. [The fox is saying to the bird: “movie reel icon? Video game controller icon? Clock icon?” The bird is holding three bulbs in one hand while anxiously giving a thumbs up. They’re thinking “I hope I'll be able to pay attention that long.”]

5: At the same time, its also why its so easy to hyper fixate on things. When you find something that lights up all your lightbulbs you give it all your time and attention. [Bird is watching a Godzilla movie with fox, and all three of their lightbulbs are turned on. They now have two lightbulbs, both of them lit, as they talk to fox about the movie, then make fanart, and play with Godzilla toys in their Godzilla-themed room.]

6: But when the number of lightbulbs you have changes without warning, you end up dropping hobbies out of nowhere. They still light up the same number of lightbulbs they always have. It's not that you are no longer interested in these things, but your number of lightbulbs changed so you can't focus on them like you used too. [sic]”

mikey x make reader where Smiley invited reader to a captain/vice/captain’s get together cuz why not and reader shows up with a suzuki sportsbike and everyones just staring at him like who tf is this guy, and reader gets all nervous and starts yelling at Smiley saying he promised reader wouldnt be the odd one out and Mikeys just like drooling over reader & his bike because dayum his ass looked good on that sportsbike and then finally snaps out of it and asks Smiley if reader was the supposed “interesting guest” he’d invited and Smileys just like “Hell yeah he is Mikey, you see his bike? this guy’s nuts! ^u^” and reader just stands there like ~that Mikey guy is hot af but i wish i just walked here~

Smiley and you were fairly close friends, but when he offered you to come to one of his gang meetings, you were just a tad against it.

What if he got you involved in something? It’s not that you couldn’t defend yourself, but staying out of trouble was convenient.

After a few seconds the peach swirl haired boy convinced you to at least just tag along with him for a few.

He insisted on you taking your bike, even if you just wanted to ride on the back of his.

“C’mon just use your own Y/N!”

Sighing, you mounted on your own. Driving beside him to the Toman meeting, as soon as you got there you got stares.

Wether it be your bike or you coming in with the fifth division captain.. it wasn’t like Mikey didn’t know you were coming.

Smiley had given him a heads up beforehand.

So why did you feel like the odd one out? was it your bike again? You whisper yelled at Smiley as to not bring any more attention to yourself “you said I wouldn’t be the odd one out..!”

Smiley’s grin grew wider, if that was even possible. But his grin looked even more shit eating that usual.

What caught your eye was the way the Toman captain was looking at you and eyeing you, ‘Damn that guy’s hot..’ Mikey said in his head eyeing you and then your bike.

However you were a bit confused, was he looking at you because he was confused? mad? happy? his expression was so blank

Finally, Mikey’s eyes are off you and on Smiley “Is this the special guest you told me about?” you sighed in relief knowing Smiley at least didn’t lie about telling Mikey beforehand.

“Hell yeah! look at this dude’s bike! he’s nuts!”

its not that they were making bad comments, but you preferred to not have constant attention on you at all times.

You wished you walked here instead, really.

Trying to distract yourself, you looked around and your eyes caught on Mikey who was still talking with Smiley.. Was Toman’s leader always that hot?

Its like your eyes got glued to him, sure you’ve heard about and seen him here and there but never payed attention to his looks.

“Hey! Whats your name?” Mikey turned and asked you, snapping out of your little love trance you looked up at him “Y/N.”

If anything, everyone could notice the two of you have some sort of thing for each other, it was plain to see even if you were an airhead.

“Cool name! I’m Mikey.” you nodded your head, its not like you already didn’t know that.

Maybe this was just another excuse for Mikey to hear your voice and eye you.

The entire meeting Mikey practically stuck to you until it started, and greeted you goodbye “accidentally” keeping you a fee minutes after because he got lost in conversation.

Toman never thought they’d see the day Invincible Mikey would actually fall for someone.

writing this here in a soft attempt to hold myself accountable, today i'll start making the Official Episode One for Caro's Podcast, Mil-Liminal. I'll be doing it in a canonical order, so my first episode will also be Caro's first, and i think that'll be really fun, to watch us both get better as we go along, and make me feel a bit less cringy.

Mil-Liminal is a fictional podcast hosted by a fictional character, Caro Greene. Caro works as the night-time attendant at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, Washington State. They chronicle their tales of weird encounters with the Unknown during the graveyard shift. What happens between the hours of 2:47 and 5:22 am for normal folks can be a bit strange, but for Caro, who happens to be able to see ghosts, it can be straight up unhinged.
