Just a lil shit post before I finish up the next Seemingly Dark update.

I was light-heartedly flirting with my pal @thedustyleaves and then realized wait a minute, apologized for being a scumbag and assured them I was a respectful scumbag and would cut it out if I was being weird.

They said I needed ‘Respectful Scumbag’ on a shirt, and they need one that said ‘Respected C*nt.’ So until we can make that happen, have this OTP art borne out of my lovely conversations.

John and Caro are from my webcomics Seemingly Dark and Mil-Liminal.

pre-reuniting, what were caro's and john's daily routines like?

Johnny: 21 years old, works at Brew, no longer lives there.

Wakes up at 5:00 AM. Feeds his cat Creaky and cleans her box, starts the water kettle, jumps through the shower. Gets out, puts on pants and muscle tank or Undershirt, makes Tea, either Matcha or English breakfast depending on his mood and puts it in a travel cup. Makes toast. Grabs a work tee from his closet, puts it on, grabs a jackaet depending on the weather, rushes out the door, travel cup and toast in mouth ala Sailormoon to catch the bus or walk. Gets to work at 6, preps the day and Opens the store at 7. Works til 3 pm, either hangs around or heads back to his place. Buys groceries at the store on his way, picks up things for his elderly landlord. Does side projects like painting window art for the grocer under his apartment and Brew, making screen print tees for local bands and Brew. Goes for a run, works out a few times a week, takes another shower, eats dinner and winds down for the day by playing guitar and hanging out with his cat, listening to vinyl and maybe watches a vhs movie or listening to Mil-Liminal. Days off change by, instead of going to Brew, he might take a bus somewhere like seattle or portland to scour thrift stores for vinyl and vhs. He might go hiking around Rainier or nearby spots. He might loaf in bed the entire day and do nothing. Some days he can't get out of bed, but most days hes doing pretty ok. He goes to Therapy on Thursdays. Caro: 22 years old, already famous, lives in Seattle but is often in Los Angeles.

Their daily routine varies but mostly, it involves sleeping as let as they can til they are inevitably late. Doesn't bother to get dressed and slams a double espresso, probably pod coffee or something they can just hit the Go button. Throws on shorts and a jacket and cap. Also toast and running out the door ala sailormoon. If they get up early enough, go for a run or see a personal trainer. Often doesn't do this. Heads to wherever they are supposed to be, airport, photoshoot, etc. Does whatever the day entails, which is usually a lot, if they are on tour, its non stop and they almost never sleep, running on coffee basically the whole time. Shower? Never heard of her, until someones like 'have you showered,' and they suddenly remember. Someone else does their face and hair. Someone will show up with food because everyone knows Caro will forget/decide its not that important to eat so everyones always on the look out to make sure they do. Gets home to hotel or condo and collapses in bed while browsing the internet, reading fanfic or playing gardening/farmer games. If they have free time, this will be spent shopping in thrift and vintage stores, doing motorcycle stunt Charity runs for Trans Health Care, or riding the bike or the car as far as they feel like going. Sometimes out to the middle of nowhere around Rainier, and just sitting and watching the world go by. This is often where they write episodes. Sleeping. Once a month or when needed, they work a shift at the GasCo both for podcast fodder, and peace. something is funky about that place and people don't recognize them when they are there, and its a nice spot to chill and winddown, while also being more safely haunted than other places they go.

‘Um…Caro? you’re still glowing and your hairs gone all white…’

I am just now making the connection that Caro was probably originally named after Stephen King’s Carrie, the other horror protagonist who had a notoriously bloody and terror filled prom night

SHOCKINGLY not quite but kinda? Caro's adult version was created years before I started drawing their teen version. and I really just liked the name Caro. I used to always call the teen version Caroline, and then while i was writing prom night i said to my editor pal 'oh my god we should call her Carrie, like Carrie White!' And after that I really leaned into it. Easter eggs from Prom Night include Caros crown on the cover being modeled after King's Carrie, and theres a moment where Dee says to Sully 'didn't she get voted Prom Queen? Whats her name, Carrie Green?' and sully corrects the name (Greensburo) but its 100 percent a nod to Carrie White, and finally, the Theme in my version of Prom Night with the star cutouts is taken from the original 1979 movie. All that to say youre correct, I did decide to use the name Carrie specifically because of King's character and because it matched up with their name already being Caroline!

Carrie is one of my all time faves movies AND books and I'm certain it got into my head and inspired the hell out of Prom Night (along with the blob and the actual movie Prom Night staring Jamie Lee Curtis)

yay thank you for the id! slight correction on one of the names, the blond is Caro or Carrie (short for Caroline so Carol is alllllmost there <3.) i realize that also might be an auto correct thing though, cuz mine always puts either Carl, Carol or Carp. even autocorrect can't pin down a gender for them.

He got tired of the yappuccino and just went for it.

one of the things i wanted to do initially with the mil-liminal comic was have stand-alone monster of the week episodes where I did a different trope or genre of horror and zombies were up there. but Warm Bodies Zombie? oh hohhoohhooooo anon. you get me.

Right now i only have printed copies, and to be honest I havent even put those up for sale outside of conventions cuz its con season and i am STRESS. that being said i've had one or two people ask for a PDF version, so yes, i will definitely have it available as a digital download soon.
