Bumfuzzle {Gem/Light/Alphys (Sanscest + Salphys)}

{Day 26 of a 30 Day Dictionary Challenge I’m doing}

Note: Based off of @ryliescreativecorner Starseed AU (BlackLight’s original timeline being a Dancetale/Handplates crossover). GemLight (A ship of two of their AU Sanses)+ Alphys from Light’s universe.

(Double note, Rylie is a great artist, and I’ve commissioned them a couple times and I’m never disappointed.)

Bumfuzzle (verb): To confuse or fluster.

“Well if you think about it, the second one wasn’t that bad.”

“What?!” Alphys jolted upright from the pillow she’d made out of BlackLight’s shoulder, leaning over him to fix Gem with a flabbergasted look. “Ohmigod, you take that back.”

Gem looked up at her from Light’s other shoulder, the corners of his mouth twitching up in a grin. He looked mischievous. “What? I’m serious. I actually like it better than the original.”

Alphys gaped at him, hardly able to believe this betrayal. How dare he think that season two was anything but garbage when compared to the original anime? And how dare he insinuate that it was even better! She’d never been so offended in her life, and if she didn’t know any better, she’d think that Gem was only saying it to rile her up.

Oh hell, Alphys did know better, and that was exactly the sort of thing that Gem would do.

“You’re lying, you do not!” she exclaimed, slumping forward so that her weight fell against Light.

Gem shifted, lifting his head and pressing forward as well to match her, and between the two of them they effectively had a BlackLight sandwich. “I’m not lying. Have you really paid attention to the new themes in Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2? It’s actually pretty deep if you think about it.”

“You--!”

“He-e’s actually serious, watch out. He’s had plenty of practice with this sa-ame conversation before; he mi-ight have an edge on you,” Light warned from the spot between them that he’d been trapped in.

Alphys puffed out her cheeks, her eyes slitting behind her glasses as she tried to... stare down the offending skeleton? She actually wasn’t sure what the goal was. In the end, she decided that a full-blown debate probably wouldn’t go in her favor and it was in her best interest to drop it. A sharp huff escaped her and she slid down so that she was laying stomach-down across Light’s lap, almost missing the tiny “a-ahhh” that Light let out at the change in position.

“I can’t believe this horrible betrayal. How could you enjoy MMKC2 more than the first one? My entire world has been shattered.”

Two separate bony hands patted the top of her head in consolation, just barely out of sync with each other.

“There, there.” Gem was the one to speak. “The ending of the first Mew Mew Kissie Cutie is still the best.”

Alphys perked up immediately. “Of course it is! It’s so good, oh my god, hold on, hold on, I need to get my laptop. You need to hear this fan-cover that I found--it’s so good!”

“Le-et’s hear it.”

Thirty minutes later, they had listened to the fan-cover she’d mentioned and were several videos deep into the related section, ending up in a ‘how-to’ dance for some anime that only Alphys had heard of, but were content to listen to the music and watch how excited she would get while talking about her favorite parts and her analysis of each episode.

Suddenly she jumped up to her feet. “I can’t sit still anymore, come on Light, learn this with me.”

“Wh-a-at, wait, I--” His protests came too late, Alphys claiming his hands to tug him up to stand with her.

Gem scooted to the now-empty center of the couch, throwing out his support with some enthusiastic clapping. “Go get it, Hun, you got this.”

And despite Light’s initial reservations, with Alphys dancing at his side it didn’t take long before he relaxed and enjoyed dancing along with her. Alphys let out a little giggle of delight, doing a little hop and spin around Light, only to be caught around the waist and pulled in close. They definitely weren’t following the video anymore, matching bright glows in their chests, and bright looks on their faces.

Even just as a spectator to the two monsters that he loved dancing about, Gem couldn’t be more content.

"My first question is for Cash and Amy," Kylie said. "What is the fate of Peachfuzzle? And do you love Peachfuzzle as much as the Peachfuzzlers?"

Cash stared at Kylie like she was speaking another language, but he consciously kept his emoting to a minimum so his face wouldn’t be turned into an obnoxious meme later.

"Huh?" Cash asked. "What’s a Peachfuzzler?"

Kylie playfully rolled her eyes as if he had asked her if blue was her natural color. "The shippers who ship Dr. Peachtree and Dr. Bumfuzzle," she said. "I’m sure you’ve seen the hashtags."

"I thought they called themselves Bumtrees," Cash said.

Kylie shook her head. "We changed it."

Terrence Wallem looked from side to side in a daze. He had no clue what the hell anyone was talking about. Whatever Peachfuzzlers or Bumtrees were, the couldn’t be appropriate for the children in the audience.

"Cash and I couldn’t be more thrilled so many people care so deeply about the relationship between our characters," Amy said, desperate to say something before the panel was over.

"So will they be on or off next season?" Kylie asked. "Cash?"

This was a very tricky question, especially since Cash didn’t have an answer. The "shippers" were the most passionate group of the Wiz Kids fandom. If Cash said something they liked, his social media would be flooded with pictures, videos, and GIFs of Dr. Bumfuzzle and Dr. Peachtree kissing or looking lovingly at each other. If he responded with something they didn’t like, his social media would be bombarded with pictures, videos, and GIFs of decapitated animals, human feces, and militants destroying priceless artifacts. He had to be careful.

"Well, they’ve been on and off since season five," Cash said with a nervous quiver in his voice. "So, since they were mostly off last season, I would assume they’d be back on next season."

Don’t Go into the Long Grass

Confronted by arboreal creatures! Quick, Tiny Tiny Demon I choose you!

Surprise Round:

Nikithi identifies the creature, takes full control of his drone, moving Idiis up into the fray. 

One of the creatures tries to bite Idiis but a 10 wasn’t enough to beat KAC

Deciding that Nikithi is the tastiest target, another of the creatures made an electronic attack with its natural lightning. A 9 on dice hit 13 EAC, for 2 Electricity damage

A third moves down to the ground

Round 1: Nikithi has Idiis attack the monkey, but a natural 2 just won’t do.

A creature continues to fail attacking Nikithi, on a natural 3,

The second creature attacks and hits on a natural 18, dealing 1 point of electricity damage.

The third hits Wynn, dealing 3 points of piercing damage.

Wynn uses get em on the one that just hit him, then missed with his Junk Censor

Kaz moves up past the enemy, provoking (Vanguards yo) the AOO fails, so Kaz uses flanking to Entropic Strike. A 17 vs EAC will hit, dealing 6 points of damage, killing it instantly.

Bumfuzzle uses a trick attack, and since they’re not CR 15, is successful. He attacks with a laser pistol, with a 17 on the dice thats an easy hit, dealing 6 fire damage, killing it in a hit.

 Talarra shoots the final creature, dealing 4 fire damage, its still up.

Round 2: Nikithi has Idiis murder a final creature, dealing 6 damage.

And with that, we’re out of combat as the rest of the pack of animals runs away.

first ship you ever wrote fic for: I started writing fanfiction even before I knew what writing fanfiction was. I started, like 10 years ago writing about anime stories I liked with my OCs. I still have some sketches scattered around.

ship you write the most now: Tododeku for now 

ship you read the most now: Nowadays I have a soft spot for Klance

newest ship: mmm, it’s not like, hardcore shipping, but I started watching Darning in the FranXX yesterday and the main characters look very cute together (Basically I’m in love with Zero Two don’t mind me)

rare ship you want to read more of: I’m looking for more well-written Chlolya fics. Please DM me if you have some. 

your taboo ship: All my ships deserve all the love and respect of the world.

they never met in canon ship: I don’t really have one. I usually need to see them interact to ship them, and stuff.

your unexpected ship: Actually I didn’t expect to ship Tododeku. I remember finishing S1 of BNHA and going to AO3 to look for fics, and I remember seeing all those tododeku fics. I remember being all ????? who the hell is this Todoroki guy and why do they ship him with Izuku? Then I watched S2 and I understood.

the ship you always forget to give love to: The Doctor x Rose will always have a spot in my heart.

ship your OC with a canon character (if applicable): I ship one of my OCs with Osamu Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs. He’s such a complex character, I love him so much.

a ship you’re embarrassed to ship: As I said above, all ships deserve all the love and respect of the world. You’re not going to find any ship bashing and ship hate in here, my dudes. 

your most romantic ship: oof, such a difficult question. I think everyone can be romantic in their own way. But I guess Viktuuri is the most showy of them all.
