Okay this really gripped me again this evening. Maybe because HBO’s TLOU adaptation is so good and I know this could be too 😌

Hi cicak! For the ask game: look
From the self-parodying ficlet I wrote set after season 1 of Burnwood (Netflix):
Diana excuses herself to go and shower. She looks dreadful, hair a mess, makeup smeared from where she’s obviously had her head in her hands for hours. Her skin looks dry and her nails are chipped, but the marks on her skin are scabbing over nicely, and it could have been so much worse. His ribs ache in solidarity, and as she leaves 47 realises that he’s starving.
The swiss commissary at the ICA is beautiful, looking out over the mountains, and he gets a big meal, schnitzel and potatoes and cabbage, a huge coffee, water, chocolate cake and several chocolate bars, he’s earned the calories.
He packs it all away and is thankfully left alone with his thoughts while he does so, and thinks about the mountains, about the way she lied to save him, about what it all means -
His phone buzzes. A message from Diana.
“Meet me out back, it’s not over.”

🎬 If a movie or show were based on your fic, which fic would you choose and who would you fancast?
Thank you for the ask, @teatotally!
While I think a mission fic would be fun to see (something like Leverage or Kiss the Messenger), I would LOVE if my Hitman space/sci-fi AU Five Minutes was made into a film/show. The fic has so much potential for incredible acting and cinematography that I think would come across beautifully if it had the right creative team making it.
As for casting: there’s an amazing fancast project for a Netflix series called Burnwood that @apricotbones and @cicaklah created, which stars Rosamund Pike as Diana Burnwood and Mark Strong as Agent 47. I think they would be absolutely fantastic at portraying the hope and melancholy of the fic.

But also I like the idea of the characters’ voice actors playing the parts, with Jane Perry as Diana Burnwood and David Bateson as Agent 47.
Tumblr media
Either way, it’s a win-win!

This episode review!
1x07 - The Marrakech Masquerade Diana is surprised by the reappearance of an old flame who makes a particular request. Guest starring Sean Bean
Sean Bean shows up as a former handler turned rogue, to have sexual tension with Diana and show the audience that she likes them older, bigger and ruthlessly violent. This episode basically gives the whole series an 18 rating both for how unbelievably steamy the kiss between Diana and Sean Bean (lbr no one remembers his character’s name) and also the absolutely brutal way she has him killed.
This set of fake reddit post titles!
Sort by Controversial: 12 Months on /r/HiTMAN
SDCC: Showrunner and Writer of Hitman series “Burnwood”; “It’s a love story”
Burnwood series plagued by 1 star reviews before launch; “tumblr bullshit”
Agent 47 is asexual CMV
Burnwood isn’t real Hitman: A Visual Essay (1:23:00 on Youtube)
Interview with showrunner and lead writer: Reddit will hate us; we don’t care
I thought diana died in absolution???
and finally this absolute self-own pastiche bullshit I made an actual draft for and almost posted:

You're a ⭐!
Here's a smattering of silly things from recent stories!
forget what I need give me what I want - this is secretly fanfic of the fake hitman tv series apricotbones and I have been working on, they both very much act like how I think Burnwood Netflix's characters would act.
all the women before me were tipping the scales - I use the room number 212 whenever I need a room number not because of the azaelia banks song but because that was my old office at the university.
Also I consider the line: "“It’s your funeral,” the analyst says, and turns back to his worthless footnote of a life." to be one of the best lines I've ever written.
the pitfalls of control - I was so unsure about this but it has done gangbusters. It totally takes the piss out of skyfall era 00Q fic and people really responded to it. this absolutely is the peak of my banter talents, I don't think I'll ever top it.
another day down here in paradise - the title is a reference to, of all things, an independence day fic I read about 15 years ago called our good work down here in paradise, I really love the turn of phrase down here in paradise. for a while it was just called that.
I promise I WILL finish it this year.
not very romantic but extremely legally binding - the title is a reference to something I promised my friend I'd say to her if she got married, I'd lean over after the ceremony and say "well THAT was legally binding." She got married in lockdown and so I didn't get to say it.
the marriage spell amarige is named after one of my favourite perfumes, Givenchy Amarige. The tribe it is rumoured to have destroyed is named after my dad.
also someone in the comments asked if the running joke that humans are missing a crucial piece of sexual anatomy meant that half orcs have penis bones, which is where my blog title powerful orcish baculum comes from (dob's 'powerful orcish' bodyparts are a meme in oxventure).
this was fun! I used to love fanfic dvd commentaries back in the day.
