G26: “I was on the fence for a while but I’ve finally come to the conclusion that… you’re brutally wrong.”

G27: “That’s bold coming from someone with a pretty generic fashion sense.”

R5: “It’s not everyday someone manages to make (Caleb North) swoon.” “What can I say? You’re a rare specimen.”

What does Caleb North do when he’s losing in a card game, you ask? Well, he bluffs--and he bluffs hard.

He’ll have his losing cards stuffed in his hands and a determined, smug expression, his blue eyes alight with the promise of winning. He’d remark about how little he’s trying and how hard MC seems to be playing, when in reality, he was the one who was desperate to win. Cal was swindling her, obviously, but MC wasn’t that gullible. She didn’t fall for his show of sportsmanship--MC was playing to win, not build relationships. Rapt for victory, MC dishes out a red seven and sends Cal a challenging brow arch. “Your move.” Cal returns her challenge with an equally cocky smirk. He flicks a card from his lofty hand and it flutters onto the growing pile, and MC groans once she realizes it’s a red skip. “Yes, my move, oh, and my move again,” Cal tosses down another skip, this time blue, followed by a blue three, “well, would you look at that? Looks like you’re not as untouchable as you think.” Cal bluffs, laughter twinkling in his eyes. If she wasn’t seated at the opposite side of the table, MC would’ve jabbed her fist into his shoulder blade--how dare he skip her back to back like that?

“Never said that. Just said that you have no hope of winning against me, that’s all.” She shuffles through her deck as she scoffs, fingers sifting through the many choices. Down to just five cards against Cal’s whopping ten, MC could play a couple different cards, all with varying outcomes. Two threes and a wild card, hmm... what should I play next? MC selects the one of the yellow threes that she had, considering that a majority of her cards--excluding the wild card--were yellow. She adds the card to the pile and Cal makes a thoughtful noise, his eyes narrowing as he examines his hand. Ha. Got him. “Drawing again, are we?” MC suppresses a snicker at the glower on Cal’s handsome face as he reaches for the drawing deck. That had been the third time in just ten minutes and probably the next beginning for his wealth in cards. “Yeah, yeah, make fun of me all you want. I’m gonna get you after--what the hell?! Where are the yellows?!” Cal’s rebuke is intercepted with his frustration of finding no compatible cards three cards deep. MC can’t help it this time; she snickers behind her petite supply of cards. Oh boy, I almost feel bad for him--having to lose so pitifully. Finally, after plucking three more cards to add to his deck, Cal finds an appropriate card and angrily throws it down; a red three. He slumps in his chair a little, eyes cast to the side; sulking silently. MC plays her second three, which is yet another yellow three. She almost felt bad for playing it on poor, yellow-less, three-less Cal... until out of nowhere, the gunslinger plops down a draw four card! Her heart just about stops in her chest. What?!

“Gotcha,” he preens, “thought you had the advantage, huh?” His words causes the pieces in her mind to click and she scowls--it was all a part of his grand plan, wasn’t it? “I think I’ll go green this time...” Cal then slams down a green plus two before MC can even draw, his complacent grin somehow even more annoying than stacking a plus two--which is what Cal does. He adds another green plus two which ups the amount of cards MC needs to draw to a staggering eight. Now Cal had as many cards as her: thirteen to thirteen. Welp, guess we’ve got another half hour to go before anyone wins. “You... you filthy, slimy, snake! Can’t you just play without being such a buzzkill?!” MC snarls. She hated how he always seemed to have the upper advantage, so when he suggested a card game to pass the time, MC had been eager to show him that there was some things he couldn’t be king of. But now that starting motivation fizzles out into frustration as Cal smiles at her, eyes wickedly gleaming with pride. Doesn’t he look pleased with himself... it’s okay, he can have his those five seconds of gratification. They’ll be his last once I win. “Come on, MC, don’t be such a sore loser,” his pure blue eyes hungrily follow her hand as she collects the eight cards he tolled her, “it’ll already hurt your pride enough to watch me win.”

“You’re going to eat those words, Caleb North.” She states as she shuffles her larger deck of cards, prepared to see his downfall.

...Tch.

Just ten minutes later and Cal was on Uno, while MC still had four cards to use; all useless as Cal plays his final card. The trick shooter had won. “I win and you don’t, just like I promised would happen earlier.” That accomplished grin on his face... MC really wanted to swipe it off--why’d he have to draw a plus four when she was on Uno just a minute ago? MC rolls her eyes and glares at him pumping his fists in the air. “That’s bold coming from someone with a pretty generic fashion sense.” She snipes defensively, crossing her arms over her chest. It was something that came out of her naturally, like an insult ingrained in her system that was ready to be weaponized at any time. Maybe I’m bitter, but that was such a dumb game. I think I have a right to be bitter. Cal takes the ramshackle pile of cards--with his winning card on top, rubbing his victory all in her face--and clacks them against the tabletop to fix their disorder. A knowing grin climbs his mouth. “Going after my looks now, huh? You really are a sore loser...” He trails off as he absently organizes the cards in his hands, so graceful that it made MC’s aggravation heighten. She just about explodes. “If being angry that your opponent is a tryhard and doesn’t play by the rules makes me a sore loser, then hell yeah I’m a sore loser!”

The table rattles as she limply throws her arm down on the surface and Cal hisses. “Hey, not so hard! You wanna lose a table while you’re at it?!” Even through his frustrated reprimand, MC could sense the cocky aptitude lacing his words--it left something unsaid. She could almost guess what he was about to say. “...cause you seem like you’re losing a lot today.” Cal mumbles under his breath, the cards in his hands slowly assembling into a neat, flawless stack. She kicks his shin from under the table just to watch him yelp. “Ow,” he sends her a pained glower as he reaches under the table to touch his shin, “the hell was that for?!”

“You know what that was for, jerkface,” MC matches his indignant expression, teeth gritted, “you didn’t have to be so mean about it, you know. Not every victory has to be a jeering contest.” Her eyes soften. The truth of their banter had just dawned on her--they were fighting over one little card game. If this sets them off, how in the hell do they get along day-in and day-out? Maybe it was a cheap move to morph this banter into a lesson but MC didn’t really care; maybe a cheap lesson is what they needed. Cal, still massaging his aching shin, sets his pristine pile of cards aside and reaches for the drawing deck. He notes the reflective expression on MC’s face and sighs quietly. “Now you’re reminiscent, huh? What’re you thinking now?” His voice is gentler when he says this, gaze sweeping over MC as if checking for an unseen injury. The gesture, however insignificant, tugs at MC’s lips. It was nice to see that his ego hadn’t blotted out his thoughtful nature. She fidgets with her jacket’s zipper, her ankles crossing then uncrossing and crossing again as she thinks of what to say. Maybe she was thinking too much these days, maybe that was her overall issue. “Well, I don’t know, I just... I guess I’m being harsh. We both are. That’s not like us.” MC confesses, low and timid, as if her words could shatter a bond that had lived for so long.

She was being precautious again, wasn’t she? Careful to not strike a nerve in Cal or stub her own interests, dipping her toes in just enough to judge her next move. Maybe that was something she needed to work on in the future. Or maybe she didn’t, if Cal didn’t mind. Since when did I consider changing for Cal’s approval? Something must be in the air. In front of her, Cal’s eyes become thoughtful as they scrutinize her features. Like hundreds of times before, MC felt the magnetic pull of his eyes, how the blue seemed to yawn out for her to drown in--a sea of emotion that she wanted to be in the waves of. That same blue softens as Cal rests his chin in his palms, cheekily smiling a lazy smile. The posture reminded MC of someone whose charmed--but that couldn’t be true. Cal, charmed? Only myths spoke of such a thing. “Worried about us, huh? Here I was, thinking you were the most bitter loser this world has ever seen-” a frown spreads over MC’s features that has Cal hurrying to finish his thoughts “-and here you are, proving that you’ve got enough heart to take an L.” He smooths a hand through his windswept hair with another sigh as MC smiles to herself. I think the translation of that is that I’m right. “No one likes a sore loser,” MC agrees, watching in awe at how his fingers’ prowess seemed to melt the cards all into one tidy stack, “so I’d rather not be that kind of person, you know?”

Cal slides the deck he’d just organized to the side, nodding his head. “Figured. You’re not the kind of person that’d fit in those shoes too well.” Again, just like before, Cal’s tone is delicate and observing and nearly fond. That made her heart jump a little in her chest, pumping just a little harder than before. Perhaps she was jumping to conclusions and this next sentence would be the biggest regret of her life, but...

“It’s not everyday someone manages to make Caleb North swoon,” she braces her elbows on the tabletop and leans forward slightly, “I think I’ll go down in history as the first.”

...what was the worst that could happen? Except being teased and embarrassed daily by the person it was directed towards, of course. MC can’t help but suck in a breath and hope that she didn’t just screw anything up. Her sights were on the word ‘swoon’ and how effortlessly she used it, like she was exposing feelings even she didn’t know of herself. Cal’s eyes flicker up to hers, amusement dancing within their depths, before he slants back against his chair with a faint scoff. “Tch, you really make it easy to hate you, MC.” The trick shooter licks his lips--a brief action that catches MC’s attention. She could feel heat creep up her neck at how quickly she latched onto the movement, almost like she’s touch-starved or something. Which I am definitely not! Nope, not at all, I get touches all the time from gorgeous gun-wielding assassins and this isn’t totally taboo!

“But what can I say? You’re a rare specimen.”

Uh-oh. Here comes the second wave of embarrassment ready to swallow me whole... As discreetly as she can, MC fans her face before the blood can rush to the surface while Cal’s miniature, practically affectionate smile pushes her into his spotlight. ...What is composure again? I forgot what it meant again.

Needless to say, MC left Cal curious and baffled, her feelings starting to wrap tighter and tighter within her chest. Soon the strings would get knotted and twisted, then what? How could she decipher the warmth she felt in Cal’s presence?

And most of all, what ran through that boy’s head when intimate moments like the card game happen between them?

What was he thinking?

R5-Ross Lynch Imagine

I started noticing her behaviour a few weeks ago. It started small like not eating the pizza we usually ordered when we watched Hockey or Soccer, something we did every week no excuse. Then she stopped singing along to the radio when we were in the car like she usually did especially when Fall Out Boy or R5 came on the radio. The car rides were now quite and filled with this, tension and sadness in the air. And Recently the most important and biggest change in behaviour is, she doesn't dance anymore. She and Rydel used to book a dance studio once a week when we were home and they used to dance and have fun, they even choreographed a couple of routines for the local dance studio, but it had been months since she last danced with my sister,even her dancing around the house has stopped and I could see something was wrong but when ever I asked her about it, she would just shrug and tell me there was nothing wrong, that she was just feeling a little unwell and she would be fine again soon. But she never was.

Currently Y/N was in the kitchen, cooking dinner and I was sat, at the counter, watching, a look of annoyance and sadness etched across my face, ass he quietly watched the water in the pan bubble and dance around the pasta. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong but I knew there was no point in asking because she would just tell me she was fine and I would know she was lying.

"Are you sure you only want pasta back for dinner, I don't mind making something else?" She asked turning to look at me. I nodded and smiled, jumping from my seat and walking over to stand by her,wrapping my arms around her smaller frame.

"Y/N, I am perfectly happy having anything you want to eat, because I know it makes you that little bit happier." I kissed her forehead and she let out a small giggle as I did.

I Knew that the giggle was for my benefit more than hers and I knew that she didn't mean that small smile that sat on her lips, I just wanted to pull her into my arms and hug her tight until she was her usual happy self again.

"The sound of my phone ringing made me let Y/N go as I walked over to the counter and pick up my phone only to see it was Rydel.

"Hey Delly." I called into the phone.

"Hey Ross, how's our girl?" she asked and I looked over at Y/N before I exited the room.

"Not to good. She is cooking dinner but, she isn't singing or dancing around the kitchen like she used to do. Delly, what am I supposed to do, she seems to be slipping away from me and I can't bring her back." I told her, sitting to the bottom step of the stairs,feeling a lump rise in my throat.

"Ross, I think I know what's wrong with her." She sighed and I perked up a little bit.

"Really? What is it?" I asked impatiently, biting my finger nail, a little excited to finally know what's wrong and a little anxious to find out at the same time.

"Well, you know that pic I posted of her and I last week?" she asked.

"Yeah, the one of you two from when we want to the UK and she took us all to watch a Soccer match in her home town?" I asked, know exactly which photo because I was one of my favourite picture of her and my sister.

"Yeah, that one, we're wearing the Soccer shirts she bought us. Well, I had heard that there was a comment for someone that plays for that team so as I was looking through I noticed a lot of hate comments,directed towards Y/N." at that I felt anger build in my chest.Mostly at the fans that had been sending hate to my girlfriend but a little bit towards Y/N because she didn't tell me.

"Why didn't she tell me?" I asked a little hurt.

"I'm sure she had her reasons Ross, why don't you ask her? Maybe she'll explain it." Delly told me. "Look, the boys and I will be round in five so do it quick OK." I could hear the smile in her voice and couldn't help but smile back.

I said a quick goodbye and hung up, walking into the kitchen where I found Y/N sat at the counter, watching me.

"I..you know then huh?" she asked me and I nodded, looking at my phone as I placed it on the counter next to hers.

"Rydel saw the comments on her picture and she told me. At least now I understand why you've been behaving different. What I can't understand is why you didn't tell me." I told her, getting a little upset. "I thought we agreed, when we first decided to go public,that we would be in this together, that we would face the haters and the bullies together. Y/N why didn't tell me?"

"I don't know, you love your fans and I don't want you to be angry at them." she told me taking hold of my hand and smiling a small smile. " Besides, it was this bad a first, it was only after you started including me in a lot more of the band projects that it started getting worse." She shrugged and instantly I started feeling a little guilty about it.

"It's my fault, I made you get involved with that stuff and now this is happening, I'm the worst boyfriend ever." I sighed as I pulled her into a tight hug. She laughed and pulled away looking up at me.

"Are you kidding me, you have been the best boyfriend ever, You pushed me to do so many things I would normally do on my own and because of that these past few years with you and your family have been the be stand I wouldn't change anything about them because if I did, I wouldn't be here, with you, making dinner for you and your family."She smiled and I saw a sparkle in her eye, something I haven't seen in so long.

"We're your family too you know" I heard someone say and I turned to see my brothers and sister and Ellington stood behind me watching.

"Yeah, you make our little brother the happiest he has ever been, you don't have a choice Y/N, you're stuck with us now." Riker told her as he came in and wrapped his arms around us both, the rest of the gang following.

"Yeah, I'm just here for the food." El called over Rydel's shoulder making the group laugh.

"Wait, Y/N, we have something to show you, go into the living room, Ross,stay here a sec." Rydel smiled as we all fought our way out of the group hug and she nodded, following Riker out of the kitchen.

"OK, the boys and I have prepared something for Y/N and you need to sing it.

(Y/N P.O.V)

I followed Riker into the living room where I found the guys instruments set up.

"Riker, what's going on?" I ask as he pulled me and sat me down in the couch where Ross soon followed, sitting by me, smiling.

"OK, Ry, you all ready?" Delly asked as she sat by me. I watched at the youngest Lynch held up a camera and held his thumb up.

"Hi guys, bit of an unplanned video today and not a happy one either."Rocky said to the camera as it pointed his way before moving swiftly to Rydel.

"It's come to our attention that there are a lot of fans out there that don't agree with Ross and Y/N relationship." She said as he pointed at Ross and I who smiled.

"And you see that puts us in a really crappy position, because we love you guys and are so very grateful for everything that you've done." El continued.

"But, we love Y/N and she is the most amazing person to all of us. She take care of us when we're on tour, even when were not on tour, like tonight for example, she has spent god know how long in that kitchen cooking so we can all have dinner together." Riker stepped in. Then Ry turned the camera to himself.

"Before all this hate Y/N has been a bright happy person, she was always smiling. She was always singing and dancing every second she could but at the minute, she's lost that, sparkle in her eyes that makes us love her so much." He said into the camera.

"So, we gonna sing you a song, one that I hope brings that sparkle back.But before we do. I just want to get this point across. I'm am going to sound like a dick right now by saying this and I really don't mean to be, but to those who think that by saying such horrible things to my girlfriend is going to drive me away from her, you are very mistaken. Y/N is going no where, I am never letting her go. She is my soulmate and one day I hope I get to be lucky enough to marry her,because she is the kindest, sweetest, fun loving human I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and I can't wait to see what our future brings." Ross said to the camera before turning to me.

" Y/N you are always so strong and I certain there is nothing life can throw your way that you can't overcome. This is one of those time though, that you can let someone fight along side you, maybe let me be the one to fix things for a change." He smiled as I kissed my cheek and I heard Riker begin to play the guitar and Rydel began playing her key bored.

ThenRoss voice filled the room and I felt tears build in my eyes.

You’re My Music: (R5 Fanfiction) Chapter 41- MESSY.

In the moments that followed our rough breakup I didn’t know what my next step would be. I had a long moment of feeling the most surreal I’d ever felt. I stepped back and looked at my life and wondered what had just happened. What had I just done? I wasn’t sure if it was all real, it didn’t seem like it. I suddenly had to grasp onto the fact that the person I was connected the most to in this world was just poof out of my life. This boy named Riker I had loved him more than I had thought I would ever love anything. Suddenly our relationship, the thing that bonded us together as a couple, the state that defined us a people had been diminished. We were no longer a pair, we were no longer together, we were two separate people that had no official connection except the past. All of those thoughts zoomed around my brain and I tried to hold on and accept every one of them but that was harder than it was thought to be. I took a few deep breaths and tried to access the situation. There is hardly a moment my brain has ever been more scrambled than right then. Riker of course asked me to talk it out with him. I turned him down as I knew I just needed to sort my thoughts out before speaking to anyone about it. I didn’t want to be persuaded by anybody on this. If I had ever heard Riker out I might’ve been back in his arms one second later. I loved him and all I wanted to do was stand there and take it all back saying I didn’t care about any of it I just wanted to be with him. Those were all surface feelings though. Deep down I was so hurt that I didn’t want to even be near him, and I knew if I gave into the feelings I had at the very beginning I would be disappointed with myself. That’s why as fast as I could I ran out of that house.

I thought about that moments for many days to come. The moment was the most intense as I was running. I had slipped on a pair of sandals I kept next to our front door for easy access, grabbed my phone off of the coffee table stuck it in my back pocket and ran. I ran a for a few blocks until I was ready to walk. I was ready to take it slow, to start absorbing everything into my head. I was still in our little residential zone of homes when I my phone rang.

“Hey, sorry I’m, running a little late.” The voice said. It took a second for me to realize it was Rydel. It took me a few more seconds to realize why she was calling.

“Shoot I totally forgot we were supposed to go shopping tonight!” I interjected. I had plain forgotten in my chaos. It was honestly the last thing on my mind. I also didn’t feel like divulging everything that had just happened in the past few hours to her right away on the phone. I didn’t feel like talking about it at all. We spoke for a moment before I agreed to meeting her at this little furniture ship and I had to explain why I showed up in an Uber. I didn’t actually explain except for saying don’t ask kind of roughly and she didn’t ask. I’ve always been someone who likes to step away from their issues and push them aside to distract me from my pain. I know that’s the worst way to deal with things and pushing my emotions aside will only cause pain down the road but it’s what I do. If it this wasn’t my way of coping I wouldn’t have done it at all. Rydel just wanted helped picking a few things for the house like lamps, rugs, décor etc.

Obviously though everyone started to notice something was up. Rydel was walking on egg shells wanting desperately to know what was up with me, but not wanting to make me upset. About a half in hour into that night of meaningless conversation and words on thin ice I said a few things to make her a little easier. “I’m sorry I’m really off today Rydel. I had a bad morning, and I don’t really want to talk about it and I’ll be okay I promise.”

“Okay well I’m here if you need. Don’t worry we all have our days.” She was such a gem and didn’t bring it up a single time more our whole trip. She soon got distracted by a cute maroon rug and rushed over to check the feel of it.

The rest of my week went as dismal as you would expect. Classes were over, and I was living awkwardly in a house with my ex, and still estranged friend. Thankfully I got a job working at a coffee shop down the street part time, and was making very little money as a teaching assistant at a dance studio for elementary aged kids. It was more of a hobby and a way to keep myself occupied during one of the loneliest weeks of my life.

It had been a week plus a day or two (I’d lost track) since my falling out with Riker. “Iced Caramel Macchiato with soy” I called out. A man in his late 20’s with third day facial hair and casual clothing walked up and grabbed his drink.

“Thanks.” He winked, and dropped a napkin with some pen scribbled on it. I looked at it and saw it was a set of numbers. This man did not honestly just give me his number.

“Did that dude for real just give you his number?” A familiar voice said from in front of the counter. It was Rocky.

“I am so done with today.” I groaned, ripping the napkin in half and throwing it in the trash.

“I mean he was kind of hot you could’ve gone for it.” I rolled my eyes and Rocky gave a short chuckle before speaking again.

“So, is there a special discount for the best friends of barista’s?” I smiled. I needed something in my life to be constant again and I missed Rocky so much.

“Well that depends. Will the best friend forgive the barista if she gives him a free iced Americano?” Rocky slammed his hand on his chest, cocked his head, and raised the corners of his mouth into a cheeky smile.

“You know my coffee drink.” I giggled a little and already started to put the ice in the cup while speaking.

“Of course. I know everything about you.” I said finishing off the drink. Rocky shrugged.

“Not everything.” He said in a lower tone. After handing Rocky the drink another girl who worked there came up to the register where I was and asked how I was in the generic no connection but coworkers kind of tone. I untied my apron and hung it on the wall. All I said to her was that it was good but busier that day. It was a bit of a blur and not much about our relationship was worth salvaging beyond work. In life, you just meet those types of people.

I went and sat down at a cute two-person table that Rocky had sat at.

“Hey.” He spoke.

“Hey.” I said back. It was silent again. “Do you want to take a walk there’s a park around the corner, I’ve been in this shop too long.”

“I would love that.” He said softly and we got up and walked to the entrance of the park. There was silence again except Rocky looked up at me with hurt in his eyes.

“I am such a bad friend and I get it if you’re mad at me.” He kicked his feet at some grass and leaves.

“I’m not mad at you.” I spoke. “I was really hurt that you wanted to break our friendship off and was really scared for a while. But even when you were away you have always been my constant. I can’t imagine us not being friends I just want things to be the way they always were.”

“I don’t really have an excuse for the way I acted. I don’t know if I can call it jealousy or anger-” He started kicking at some more leaves to relieve a little of the stress he was experiencing. I cut him off before he imploded into a pit of self-guilt.

“What I saw was a best friend who was trying to protect me. While I was dating Riker, I wasn’t really being that great of a friend. I was just too focused on wanting to have the perfect relationship that I didn’t even think about anybody else. Now look where I am.”

“I don’t think it was that bad. You didn’t desert me I think we can agree we both haven’t been the fairest. Let’s agree to put this all behind us because I miss you like crazy and you’re my best friend and need somebody in this world who gets me.” He didn’t have to convince me I wanted my best friend back more than anything, I quickly wrapped my arms around him and gave him a gigantic hug.

“Agreed.” I hummed embracing the hug I needed in so many ways. We both stepped away from the hug and continued walking only a few steps until there was a huge field of grass where people would picnic and play Frisbee and flag football on nice days. “I just want to lay in the grass.” I groaned. I shuffled along until we were almost directly in the center of the field and collapsed onto the ground. Rocky laid in the grass less dramatically next to me and tilted his head.

“Rian are you doing alright? I know it’s still probably rough with Riker and you.”

“I don’t know. “Wait what?” Rocky was startled. I hadn’t exactly shared any details of our breakup with him or many other people.

“Um…Riker had gotten a letter from Estella telling him she’s pregnant and he might be the father.” I mumbled trying not to crack. Rocky was floored his eyes were wide as could be.

“Riker might be a dad? HOLY SH-”

“I know.” I cut him off.

“Dang Rian I’m sorry. That really sucks.” He moved closer and I rested my head on his shoulder.

“Estella is so manipulative and now she’s going to have a baby that very well may be Riker’s because they had sex every other day and who knows how careful they were.” I said very aggressively. I was still so upset that he lied to me it was almost what hurt the most. “The day we came to visit you when you guys were on tour I told you I had gotten my own room but I actually spent it in Riker’s.”

“It was going on for that long huh?”

“Yea well we thought about going further but then we talked and decided it would be more fulfilling if we waited until the right time. He told me that he had never slept with Estella because he wasn’t in love with her. That night was the first night that I felt deeply connected to him. I was really falling for him I ate it all up and it was just a bunch of lies.”

“He told you he’d never had sex with Estella?” I nodded my head yes. Rocky raised his eyebrows. “I’m almost shocked you believed him. I’ve walked in on that idiot more times than I’d like to say.”

“Well I believed him I guess I was stupid to believe.”

“You’re not stupid. He should not have lied to you about that and made you feel the way you do.” I shrugged my shoulder. Rocky sat for a few seconds before speaking again. “Not to pry but did it ever happen?”

“Yea it happened quite soon after that. I’d fallen in love with him, but that’s all. I told him I loved him and he freaked out and we took a break and then he realized he loved me too and I thought everything was amazing. We never had sex but I was okay with that. I thought he wanted to wait because that’s what he did with other girls. I guess it was just me.”

“I’m so sorry Rian but you should know that Riker has never cared that much. He must’ve really cared about you if he wanted to wait I know him.”

“I’m afraid if I talk to him I’ll realize I he still loves me and I’ll want to get back together with him. I love him so much but I…I don’t want to get back together.” I took a deep breath. I don’t know if I’ll ever see him in the same way I don’t know if I can ever trust him again.”

“Its okay that you don’t know how to feel. Its okay for everything to be a bit messy. Just know that I’m always there for you Rian. I always will be.”

Twinsies - R5 Imagine

There were only two hours until you would go on stage with R5, and you could hardly contain your excitement. You had finished getting ready almost a half hour ago and now paced the dressing room waiting for Rydel to come and help with your stage makeup and wig. Sure, you were nervous too, but your feelings were more excitement than fear at the moment. You had often daydreamed about setting foot on the band's bus never dreaming you'd one day get to tour with them. You stopped pacing momentarily to glance in the mirror and frowned at what you saw. Your makeup was a complete mess. You had always been into more natural looks, and the products that you had tried to make your makeup look more dramatic appeared to not be applied correctly. While your outfit looked exactly like what Rydel wore on stage, you felt oddly uncomfortable in it. Just when you thought Rydel would never come, you heard a knock at the door. "Come in," you yelled. "I'm sorry I'm late," Rydel said entering and getting ready to work. "The Mexican place the boys found was further away than we thought, and it took a forever to get an Uber on the way back." "It's okay." You glanced sideways in the mirror debating whether you should tell her the obvious. You knew she'd be nice about it; but this was Rydel you were talking about, and she always looked perfect. You took a seat on the floor, and she put down her supplies and got right to work. "Rydel, can you fix my makeup? I'm not used to wearing this much makeup, and it just doesn't look right." She worked quickly setting a fake eyelash on your eye. "Sure, love. Just a little adjustment here and there, and it will look great." After setting on the other eyelash, she wiped off some of your makeup and applied some new stuff. "You're so cute," she mused. "Thank you," you gulped solemnly. She added glitter to your eyes and started pinning up your hair. You watched her work, but your heart was to full to say anything. "How are you feeling?" she asked. "The first show of tour I always get the jitters." "I'm definitely nervous. How are my hands possibly going to land on every correct chord and miss every wrong one?" you said dramatically. "That's called skill, honey," she said placing the blue wig on your head. "And you definitely have it." Before you could reply, she grabbed your hand and lead you to the mirror. "Twinsies!" she squealed. "It's so amazing how much we look alike. If the fans didn't know differently, I'm sure they'd think you were me. This is going to be so much fun." You could barely believe your eyes. Low and behold, you now looked just like Rydel. Your makeup was flawless, and your outfit looked even better now that it was accompanied by stage makeup and a wig. "Yeah," you said feeling suddenly disappointed. You looked perfect now but couldn't help wondering if you had lost yourself in the process. "Oooh," she said just before leaving the room. "I know what we can do. Let's see if we can trick the boys. I'll switch wigs and go up to Riker and see if I can get him to think I'm you." "And I'll find Rocky and try the same," you suggested. You knew there was a no chance that the always-on-his-toes Rocky wouldn't see through it, but you were always up to have a conversation with him, so you'd do it just the same. "Perfect," she said. "Let's do this." You slipped out of the room in search of Rocky. After a few moments, you found him in the green room playing pool with Ellington. Gathering your courage, you came up and threw your arm around him like Rydel often did. "What's up, _____?" he asked nonchaulently. You let go of his arm. "How did you know I wasn't Rydel?" He didn't even look at you but instead lined up his next shot. "Even with that Rydel getup, you just look like....well you." You laughed. "I guess that's good. This just doesn't feel like me." You gestured to your outfit. "And I was worried I'd turned into Rydel or something." "Naw." It was his turn to chuckle. "You look a little like her I guess, but not much. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, when you start playing everyone is going to know you're not her." "Rocky," you scolded. This might be the first show on tour, but you had been around enough to know that Rocky could handle you giving him a hard time. "I mean that in that in the best way possible," he said. "Music comes from inside, and what comes out when you play is you not her. Even if you play the same part, it's going to sound like you." "I guess," you said relieved at that thought. "But I'm not sure that's a good thing. What if I mess it all up?" "I don't think that's going to happen," Rocky said. "You've been practicing like crazy and even if tonight's not your best night ever, you have plenty of time to improve." "And," Ellington chimed in. "You're going to be in the back with me, and I bang on those drums so loud you can't really hear anything else." You and Rocky laughed. "True," you said. "_________," Rydel said coming into the room. "Riker actually thought I was you for a moment." "What a lovable dork," Ellington muttered as he moved around the table to take his shot. "How did that work?" "Well," she said. "He was on his phone when I came up, and he greeted you when I sat down. It wasn't until he put his phone down that he realized his mistake." "See," Rocky said nudging you. "If even Riker can pick up on it in a post phone coma, it's got to be pretty obvious. I told you you've got nothing to worry about." "Yeah," you laughed. "Take my word for it next time?" he asked. "Okay, Mr. Wise guy." "I'm glad you're on tour," he said quietly before taking his turn at the table. "Me too," you replied with a smile knowing he was right. No matter how much you looked like Rydel, you were you, and that was enough.

I need to renew my car insurance in the next few days but I am also moving to a new address in under 3 weeks time. This new address offers me much cheaper car insurance. I don't use my car much and can do without using it all for 3 weeks. If it is parked on the road and fully taxed is it a legal requirement to insure the vehicle even if it isn't used. I can live with it being stolen or damaged but I wouldn't want to be fined for being uninsured. The only problem with insuring the vehicle under my current postcode is that I'm at the whim of the insurance companies to what discount they offer me when I actually move. All the insurers I have phoned can't guarantee a fixed price for the new postcode if I register my the policy under my current postcode for the first 3 weeks. My main concern is not to do anything illegal so at the end of the day it's not worth saving money if I am going to get in to trouble or be fined.
