ah. hm. well here's the thing. and if you read most of what i write you will also notice it. i don't really do scene dressing. i do this:

character a and character b (others optional), sitting/standing/laying down, in [specific area], expressing [specific emotion], go.

this is bc i'm not writing anything super long-form rn! it's also because i'm writing halfway between prose and screenwriting. all i've got rn are moments that i'm brainrotting with until i write it down and these are mostly character interactions, specific scenes of action or dialogue, or bullet-pointed backstory. im gonna root thru my notes app and find something for you tho. i like finding unique ways to describe people a lot if that counts!!

OKAY i found something. i had to look in my google drive. this one is a little old and doesn't describe a set but i do think it sets a tone lol. dresses a scene if you will. under the readmore!

They walked into the classroom single-file, and they looked ridiculous. Melody, dressed in heavy winter garb with only a slit for her eyes, fumbling to find a seat. Lupa, sauntering in like she already knew what assignment was due, her human ears and almost clean-shaven appearance smoothing her features uncomfortably. Omar didn’t even bother to change. Al was, well. Invisible. So she got a pass. 

Jaime, the only passably normal one, had Cyrus tucked away in his book bag, and of course, Cyrus would not shut up. The faint echo of clicky chatter was thankfully muffled behind the Jansport’s front pocket. “You know, they’ve never noticed me in the past! All it took was a little hypnosis. Sure, they might repeat the lesson several times, forget their names, but all the better for the exams, am I right?”

Nearly two steps in, Lupa bumped into a stair railing and yelped “Shit!” with a distinctively doglike whine, and the auditorium turned all eyes to the group of Very Normal Humans (and One Bat). “Really, it would be fine--”. Omar elbowed the book bag.

“What, they not teach you how to curse here?” Lupa yelled, unnecessarily loud, and flopped into a chair. The class turned around murmuring, like a flock of birds, or like dominoes. All at once, shuffling.

“Fucking creepy.” Melody mumbled. “Also, I’m pretty sure I’m getting heat stroke. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat before, but this might make me.”

Before Al could grab the water bottle, Lupa reached out to stop her reach. “They’ll just see it floating, Jenkins, let me handle it.” 

She tossed it to Mel, who caught it between oven mitts. The siren didn’t even hesitate to douse her face with it. Mel blinked the rest of the water away. Lupa gave her an enthusiastic thumbs up; Omar buried his head in his hands and groaned.

another dilemma nothing im selling is selling so i just need to do plain old comms but oh man friends want something from me but last time i said i specifically want to do just sketches and paintings one was like oh.. okay whatever and other idk i remember going over info on some possible piece and they didnt rly seem to like my idea but didnt rly give me one themselves... i also dont want to stress myself out on ppl that want too many changes rn so im pushing that to next month

i got one comm wip now but im underselling myself cuz they want an svg file so i had to go thru frustration with inkscape not working with my tablet and then once figuring it out with an older vers, having to learn how to use it i feel like i could totally ask at least twice as much but i believe they felt like what i asked for was already too much (and i gave them a much better deal too...) i just gotta finish it quickly and dont linger on details cuz i wont get paid for it anyway (doubt they will tip)

ok so my friends peer pressured me into trying a nuzlocke for a pokemon difficulty hack i haven’t played (since i already played thru all the ones they’re doing rn) and i decided on Sinking Sapphire, bc Drayano makes good hacks that are harder but not bullshit.

problem is-that hack is so old it pre-dates game patching on 3ds, so the only way at the time to apply a hack was to extract all the game’s files and put the modded ones in, and then rebuild the whole game with them.

...another problem, hack is still so old that the tool the creator mentions using in his tutorial to do this isn’t even used anymore. so i decided to try and be lazy and download someone else’s rom they already made and were kind enough to share... and we got this:

I start out yesterday while i was waiting in the car for my dog to get his shots renewed and i noticed something weird, the game’s icon says “sinking sapphire” but the in game title screen says “star sapphire” maybe it’s the hacks old name? w/e, not like i can check in the car so let’s just go. I get my mudkip, i catch a poocheyna, it’s all going well!

...go forward like 3 hours i reach Rustburo city and get my cut TM, now, in all the past Drayano hacks i’ve played cut is always made into a grass move, cut was not a grass move here. I figure “ok well maybe that was a later change? or maybe he just wanted to mix it up” w/e. Moving on more i get to Roxanne with my team of just 6 mons, bc my poor poocheyna bit the dust to a bide, and i start the battle excited...

and i’m immediately greeted with a shuckle, with the most smogon set ever, in stealth rocks/sticky web/infestation/toxic. okaaay. harsh, it is the first gym man, even worse is she has a full team of 6! that’s gonna be hard to fight!

now she has a Lileep which just destroys my whole team, bc as this is a nuzlocke i can only catch the first pokemon we run into, and my team is a shellos/marshtomp/larvitar/tangela/taillow/honchkrow which either can’t do anything to a grass type or just die to one of it’s moves. so i decided to stall her out of ancient powers so i can knock her out with honchkrow, and occording to the move changes doc im looking at ancient power is stronger and has 10 pp now. which is going to be a pain to stall...but then i also notice the immediate next move on the changes list:

cut, which is supposed to be a grass type attack like i thought. which means something’s wrong, i stall her out of her 5, not 10 ancient powers and decide maybe i should just check out what her team is supposed to be bc something’s off here. and it says she’s only supposed to have 4 pokemon and the first is supposed to be a level 14 archen (not a level 18 shuckle) so obviously remembering the whole “star sapphire” title screen i finally look it up and what do i find out that Star Sapphire is a whole ass ‘nother hack that actually does have all the right changes i was seeing. and not only that but i see this warning at the bottom:

and this kids is why we don’t take the lazy way out and just patch our own roms, lest we be tricked into playing the much, much harder hack

Life update nobody asked for :)

Hoooo weeee... we're like 3 weeks into 2020 and i know the world is lookin r o u g h rn... but i just wanted to take some time to shout into this wonderful dark blue void we call tumblr for a sec

I put all of it under a readmore, but tl;dr is that i got time off of work this week and next week to write some more fishy articles for yall! Also i filed for divorce last nov, which should be finalized by may, and i am so SO excited for this year :)

2019 was a rly wild year... i think its the most personal growth ive experienced and i dont regret any part of it (even though some parts were genuinely terrifying or rly hard to go through).

I lived somewhat independently for most of it (i rly loved having a place to myself :3 even tho taking care of it and myself and all the kiddos was sometimes hard, it was wonderful to have so much freedom and independence).

I made lots of new friends :D

I filed for divorce! (this ones a big'un and by far the best! Itll be final in may hopefully). I had to say goodbye to the cats and the dog (i couldnt keep them and my ex was the one who brought them home originally. He moved to a place with a backyard and more people to help take care of them. It was definitely in their best interest but I do still miss them♡).

I moved back in with my parents, but got to keep all of my other babies :3 the pumpkin patch sling im raising went thru their first molt (fingers crossed they continue to eat like a tank and grow up big n strong). My hamster is an old man now but the vet said hes lookin great for such an old man :) it makes my heart happy that he'll be around a while longer ♡

I got a raise at work! Ive had this job for over a year now and i like my coworkers. Bossman gives us days off when we ask and cooks everyone home made lunch when he comes in once a week :p

I decided to take time off of school to sort out my life and academic habits. Most of it has to do with anxiety (hence the counseling) and developing healthier coping mechanisms. Also figuring out what I really want to do... because i dont have to consider how my career will affect anyone but me now... so im switching to environmental science :) it doesnt pay as well as computer science, but im more passionate about it and even when i went thru a rly bad depressive episode last year and failed half my classes... i aced the heck out of my ES ones and enjoyed the material :)

I signed back up for counseling! Went to my first appointment last week and my therapist is super dope.

I wrote some freelance pieces. (Which i have been very very slow to finish recently... i hope to have some more turned in soon tho! I’m sending in my tiger barb care article today and I asked for some more days off at work to be able to work on freelance more! Ive only had 1 day off per week for the past few weeks @.@ but I had 3 days off this past week so no excuses!!)

I started new hobbies! I got a sewing machine for xmas (shout out to my mom, who is the dopest woman i know) and am excited to try some more challening projects :p i made some simple stuff, but i really wanna make plushies!

I finally found a dnd group and its SO MUCH FUN :3 ive only been to 2 sessions now but the dm is great and also patient about all my newbie questions :3 reddit has also been v helpful ^-^ I’ve also been having a ton of fun dndiying stuff for my character (like spell cards/stat cards) and making miniatures with sculpey (first time working with polymer clay, so thats been cool too) :3

Going into 2020 im really excited to travel this year. I’m going to denver next month!!! and possibly a cruise with friends at the end of the summer?? we’ll see :p I’m also excited to get more into my new hobbies (DND, sewing, miniature-making, etc) and getting back into to older hobbies (terrariums, scrapbooking, snail mail, etc). I’m trying to go back to school in the fall as well so fingers crossed my change-of-major gets approved >w<

all in all though, i’m hype for 2020 and i hope everyone has a good year too :)

tl;dr: tbh not much to go off on about. i think we see a new skin for Iron Bear, one with some stripes. amara smiles, i do talk a little bit about little sisters in bioshock but tbh i think this was all just a stylistic choice lol. oh and handsome jack’s masks- probably Mount Jackmore. i don’t want to get to freaked out over jack returning, but damn gearbox lol u had me there for a second. im pretty sure it’s just a reused cut quest from bl2 that they never got to implement.
