When I love a song, I’ll love it forever
#random post#smth i thought about earlier. yknow. I have a hard time picking favorites with literally everything#I also have what I SAY is a favorite of mine. but I have a hard time really pinpointing whats number 1 in my brain#like. I love lots of things. I like different aesthetics and clothing and art mediums and movies and shows and books and music and people#but it’s difficult trying to find the favorite. some things are easier cus there’s more that I DONT like so it kinda singles out an option#like with music. I love LOTS of music. but what does it mean when smth is a favorite? I don’t have a favorite genre cus I have songs I love#from all over. even ones I haven’t heard yet. music overall is one of my favorite things. I’m not joking when I say it’s a love language#I love the melodies and beats and rhythms and lyrics and voices. always and forever will have a place in my heart and mind#I hate questions that want to know favorites. isn’t it enough to just show you instead? to share everything with you? why do you need one#single thing to know exactly who I am? wouldn’t you get me better if you spent a day with me instead?#I can’t remember everything of importance to me. not all in one single moment. if I went through my playlists and told you what songs I love#and why. what books I love and why. what anything I love and why. you’d find that I’m a bit undefined. I’m an artist and a creator. strong#yet weak imagination. sometimes think better in the abstract and other times do better with what’s set in stone#I love sharing things with people. I wish people would engage more with what I share sometimes. but I never hold it against em or hate them#if they don’t haha. often I feel down when ppl don’t engage with what I share. I know people aren’t obligated to do things but. yknow. it’s#my heart in a platter. splayed our for everyone. bits of me I want to share. what I want people to see. I’ve sat down with people to share#music I like. one friend said a song I like was scary. some people make faces at what I play. some have paid it no mind at all. they don’t#even know how important to me sharing something like that is. hell. how important me sharing ANYTHING is. it’s so easy to hide away#everything about myself. yet here I am trying my hardest to open myself up. yea. wish I was able to connect with someone like that#in person I mean. I guess. I just want to lay down with someone and play music we love. explain why we love it. or try to understand why#idk I’m getting rambly. I just want to do new things forever. and relive the first time everytime#this isn’t a vent or anything. just thinking and writing as I do. typing helps me to keep my mind on track. a bit at least. as much as one#with a brain like mine can havagahhaga. I wonder if anyone actually reads through my tag rambles in their entirety. I know it looks daunting#so I don’t blame you if you can’t or don’t feel like it. it won’t kill me if my words are lost in the void#haha anyways yea :> thinking lots

I fill out entire lists of ask memes on my main blog, but this one is for artists so I’m gonna do it here~ :-) If you read all of this, thank you!!! Enjoy.
Do you prefer traditional drawing, or digital?
I prefer traditional drawing because its direct hand-to-eye and easier. I can put it more details and effort, however it takes longer.
How long have you been drawing?
Since day 1 lol
How many classes have you taken?
Well, I took a single drawing class when I was 13 for after school rec. Otherwise, I have a bachelors in graphic design so quite a few!
Do you have a DeviantArt, personal website, or art blog?
Yes, I have all of those. Posting on my art blog rn :+)
What’s your favorite thing to draw?
I love drawing “self portraits.”
What’s your least favorite thing to draw?
Least favorite is probably celebrities. I don’t like drawing people without permission, or I don’t know who they are.
How often do you use references?
In a good piece, always. Even for simple things it can be necessary.
Do you draw professionally, or just for fun?
For fun looking to become professional :)?
How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?
At least an hour a day doodling. If it’s serious work it takes longer.
Are you confident about your art?
I am confident that I can create the things I can create now.
How many art-related blogs do you follow?
Hundreds!
Is it okay for people to ask you about your process?
Absolutely. I’m happy to share and I have nothing to hide.
Do you prefer to keep your art personal, or do you like drawing things for other people?
Both. I like drawing things for myself the most, but if I am passionate about the other thing I will draw it for others.
Do you ever collaborate with others?
Not often...
How long does an average piece take you to complete?
1-5 hours depending on detail!
Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?
I draw more. I feel more passionate about drawing things I enjoy than keeping up with fandom trying for clout lol.
Do you think you’re justified in giving other people art advice?
Only if they ask. :+)
What are you currently trying to improve on?
I want to develop my characters stories... and show it in my art.
What is the most difficult thing for you to draw?
Expressions
What is the easiest thing for you to draw?
Me :+)
Do you like to challenge yourself?
I do! I’m trying to make every piece a challenge now.
Are you confident that you’re improving steadily?
Yes.
Do you draw more fanart, or more original art?
Original art. Fanart doesn’t make me as happy tbh.
Do you feel jealous when you see other people’s art, or inspired? (Be honest!)
Both??? I find jealousy in wanting to know how someone did a thing, but inspired at the same time cus I wanna try it too lol
Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?
I can’t draw without background noise
For digital artists: what program(s) do you use?
Ph*t*sh*p and Ill*strator but when that expires I have some other stuff bookmarked, wish me luck lol
For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?
40+
For traditional artists: what medium do you like most? (Pencil, charcoals, etc)
Everything!!! I have colored pencils, charcoal, paints, etc. I want to start screenprinting at home too. Sooo much to do~
For traditional artists: How do you usually start on a big piece? (Light sketch, colored lead, sketchpaper, etc)
I’m a fool and don’t trace anything so I use the single 2H pencil I have. I loooove sketching with 4-6B but that is too heavy to erase after.
What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist?
It’s something I’m good at and enjoy doing. I want to make things I want to see.

Can you do a fic of verbally abused lance by like a parent when he was younger and the team was doing the memory seeing thing ( the one with the weird head things when they all say in a circle ) and that's how they found out? Please?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Count: ~2.4kPairing(s): KlanceChara(s): Lance-centric, Keith & PaladinsFandom: VoltronPrompt: Verbal AbuseWarning(s): Parental Verbal Abuse
This prompt was a little difficult to wirte for because it was a tad too close to home for my comfort. It still ended up way longer than I wanted it to be, but i hope you Anons enjoy it! I’m so close to a bingo lmao. Thank you both for the compliment and the request!!
Get your own card @badthingshappenbingo
Bonding exercises with the team weren’t unusual occurrences. Being able to form Voltron relied on their ability to connect with each other as a team and as a family, and in spite of the number of arguments that would happen because personalities would collide, the Paladins of Voltron knew each other well enough to form the giant robot with ease.
Maybe they didn’t quite need to know everything about each other, but Lance felt what had happened in the past wasn’t necessary for their future. He was a firm believer in leaving things behind—even if he often struggled to do it himself.
Today’s training session involved melding their minds. Lance couldn’t stifle his groan. (Luckily for him, he wasn’t the only one.) Mind melding was everyone’s least favorite training technique. It involved a surprisingly large amount of concentration, some of which many of the Paladins didn’t have depending on the circumstances, but it wasn’t the countless hours of meditation and sitting around that bothered Lance. It was the idea of having anyone dig around in his mind without his permission.
Not that he had many secrets to hide – he was quite open to his makeshift family – it was just… there were certain things Lance didn’t want to have to explain. They weren’t necessary.
It wasn’t important.
Coran had the team gather into a circle and promised them bags of water and delicious snacks he had prepared (Hunk approved this time) for when they successfully completed their hour of training. He distributed the neuro-helmets to every member of the circle and gave them a thumbs up.
“You all have done exceptionally well forming Voltron as of late,” he praised. “This session will be done in a jiffy! I’ll be watching from above, good luck!” He hurried out of the room.
Keith turned his attention to Shiro, brows furrowed in concern. “Are you sure you want to do this? You said you wanted to retire.”
“Retirement doesn’t mean I can’t keep up with everyone’s training,” he said with a soft smile. “Mind melding is all about building stronger bonds between each of us. I think that’s a useful thing to do, even if I won’t be piloting Black anymore.”
“Shiro is right,” Allura nodded. “Forming Voltron is not the only purpose of the mind meld. Our bonds with each other as friends is also extremely important to ensure our continued survival in this war. Besides, don’t you guys find this fun?” She smiled brightly.
Pidge groaned. “Fun for you maybe.”
Coran’s voice filtered into the room. “Alright everyone, close your eyes and clear your minds. For the next five doboshes, I want everyone to concentrate on their breathing.”
That’s easy enough. Lance thought. He closed his eyes on Coran’s orders and focused on the way he breathed. He inhaled deeply, feeling the way his diaphragm expanded then slowly blew out his breath through his nose.
The first time they’d done this, Lance couldn’t stop himself from thinking of his family. The images of their faces were engraved into his mind and the sounds of their voices would play in his ears like a record player. Now, it was easier to keep his memories of them from invading his meditative blankness. It pained him deeply that he could barely remember what they sounded like let alone recall the exact details of their facial features. He didn’t like to think about that, though.
“Now concentrate,” Coran’s voice wafted into the training room, soft and smooth. “Try to feel the presence of the others around you, but don’t connect. Only feel.”
That was easy enough.
Lance focused on the blankness. He kept his mind at ease, made sure to clamp down hard on any image that involved his family in any way and reached out into the void for the person he knew was waiting for him on the other side. He felt the warmth of Keith’s mental presence before he actually saw him. Coran had told them not to connect, but it was hard to keep himself out of Keith’s mind, especially when they were so physically close.
Keith probed back, acknowledging Lance’s presence.
“Connect with each other, but keep it surface level for now.” They heard Coran say, his voice oddly muffled.
Lance felt the others probe into his mind. He steeled himself, suddenly anxious. He felt careful, yet hesitate probes of Hunk, who prodded carefully on the memory of their first encounter in the garrison. Pidge followed soon after, her probing more curious and bold. Shiro’s presence felt uncertain, as though he doubted his reasoning for connecting with the others. (They flooded him with thoughts of kindness and assurance and played images of Shiro’s best moments through their eyes to calm him.)
Allura’s presence in his mind felt as elegant as she looked, yet uncomfortably strong and powerful. A part of him grew embarrassed as memories of her played through his mind without control. He sensed her humor before her own memories of Lance flashed before his eyes.
“Excellent! You guys are doing wonderful! Now try to probe a little deeper, but be mindful of everyone’s privacy!”
Going deep was not something Lance wanted to do. He felt various waves of hesitance wash through him from his fellow paladins. Hunk was more of an open book. He was the first to open himself to them and accepted their careful examining. Images of his family and friends played through Lance’s eyes. They were memories of Hunk’s youth, from his earliest memories to his time in the Garrison. He laid himself out bare for them all until the image of Shay popped into Lance’s eyes.
Suddenly, Hunk’s embarrassed warmth flooded through them like a wave.
He broke out of their connection.
“Hunk!” Lance heard Coran call. “You were doing so well!”
“Sorry, sorry. I didn’t mean for them to see that.”
They each pulled out of the meld.
“I thought it was sweet,” Allura smiled warmly. “What a beautiful memory.”
“Aw, Hunk has a girlfriend,” Pidge teased.
“She’s not my girlfriend.” He clarified with a sniff. “I didn’t get a chance to ask.”
“Well, maybe you should the next time we find the Balmera,” Keith suggested.
“You think she’d say yes?”
“Why wouldn’t she? She’d be crazy not to.” Lance patted his shoulder. “You’d make a great boyfriend! Maybe even better than me. Probably. Maybe. That’s still debatable.”
The Samoan chuckled. “Thanks, buddy.”
“Should we try again?” Shiro asked.
The Paladins settled back into a meditative trance. Quicker than before, they fell into the first layer of the mind meld, and with Coran’s instructions, they dived one level deeper.
Lance felt his palms begin to sweat. In the back of his mind, he visualized the locked door he kept his memories behind. A sense of familiar curiosity swept through him. He realized, belatedly, that was Pidge’s curious nature who probed into his mind and grazed her senses against the door.
Alarm shot through him. Don’t. Don’t open that.
Keith joined Pidge then Hunk. They each investigated around the door, various emotions radiated from them and into Lance. He urged them to move on, but they persisted. He flooded their minds with memories of the beach from an alien planet – it looked remarkably like the beach in Cu—Lance thought about the various alien females he’d flirted with on their journey.
Keith’s irritation came to him from the memory.
An image from the Garrison assaulted his senses. In it was a freshman Cuban boy, pimples marred his brown skin but blue eyes wide with excitement. He was all gangly with long limbs and barely any muscles – he looked excited.
Lance felt embarrassment wash through him. He could already feel the amused and teasing emotions from the others until the memory shifted. Young Lance stood with his father. He loomed over the boy, eyes dark and unkind. His arms were crossed against his chest, his lips moved though the words spoken were unintelligible in their ears.
But Lance remembered.
And just like that, sound came into the memory. His father spoke harshly, his words were not in English but the meaning was clear.
Lance ripped himself from the circle.
“What the heck you guys?!” He snapped. “Why are you probing around in my head when I just told you not to!?”Keith plucked the helmet from his head and stared into the anxious expression of his partner. “What… was that?”
Lance bristled. “That was you guys invading my privacy, that’s what that was!”
“Lance—”
“Oh no, don’t ‘Lance’ me, Keith! Did you guys completely ignore what I was sending?”
“Why was your dad yelling at you?” Pidge frowned. “And what was with that door?”
“None of your business!” he snapped. “We’re supposed to be bonding, not invading my privacy like that!” He threw the helmet to the ground in frustration then turned on his heel. “I’m gonna cool down. I’ll see you guys later.”
“Wait, Lance–!”
He marched out of the room without a look back.
Memories of his father flooded into Lance’s mind hours after the mind meld. Having seen the man clear as day through the altean machine brought forth unpleasant experiences he thought he’d long since forgotten.
The very first time Lance had developed a crush on a boy and foolishly told his parents about it played before his eyes like an unwanted film reel. He could already hear the gruff accented voice of his father berate him for his stupidity, could practically feel the disgusted rage that rolled from his body as he switched from English to Spanish and called Lance a plethora of names he never wanted to hear again.
The time Lance had failed to get into the Garrison as a fighter pilot pushed into the forefront of his mind. The sheer disappointment his father faced him with when, instead of becoming a fighter pilot, he’d been placed into the cargo pilot division, had haunted the boy’s dreams for years. But his words were the worst part of the memory:
“Me has decepcionadouna y otraves. Me avergüenza que seas mi hijo.”
Lance’s hands formed into a fist. He slammed it against the wall beside his door, hoping the action would dispel the mixture of rage and heartbreak swirling in his chest.
“Lance!”
Keith came around the corner and hurried toward him. He opened his mouth to say something but, much to Lance’s surprise, he snapped it shut. Without a word, he wrapped his arms around the lankier boy and held him tight.
“I’m sorry,” He murmured. “You were right. We invaded your privacy and that was wrong of us.” He pulled them apart, far enough to stare into the boy’s face. “You know I’m not very good with emotions and, uh, personal stuff but… Lance… you can talk to me. If you want to.” He added on hastily. “Not as your leader but as y-you know, as your partner.”
Lance heaved a heavy sigh. “Man, you really have a hard time saying ‘boyfriend’, don’t you?”
Keith blushed. “It’s not like I ever had one of those before! Talking is something we’re supposed to do right?” He grabbed Lance’s hand and stepped toward the door. It slid open with a quiet whoosh and pulled him inside. “So let’s talk!”
Keith led him to the bed and sat him down. He joined him stubbornly and stared intently into the Cuban boy’s face. Lance couldn’t help the small smile from creeping along his lips. They were still holding hands.
“I’m not going to force you to talk about it, but I’m here.”
“It’s okay, I don’t mind.” Lance took advantage of their close proximity and rested his head on Keith’s shoulder. “My dad is old fashioned. When I was little, I did a lot of things that disappointed him and scolding me was just… one of those ways.”
“He called you a fag, Lance.”
Lance pulled away, surprised. “How do you know that? He was speaking Spanish.”
“You’re bilingual. Your memories translated themselves.” Keith stared intently into Lance’s eyes. “That wasn’t the first time he’s called you that and I’m willing to bet he’s called you a bunch of other names too, hasn’t he?”
Lance rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly tired.
“Yeah, he’s called me a lot of things, but like I said, my dad is old fashioned. He doesn’t do well with expressing emotions so calling me names was just one way of doing that. Its okay, Keith, really. You get used to it.”
He felt the older boy’s grip grow tighter on his own. Keith’s eyes were comforting despite the barely contained ranger swimming within them. Lance leaned back onto his shoulder in the hopes of appeasing him.
“What about the locked door?” Keith asked after a few minutes of silence. “Does that have something to do with your dad?”
“My family mostly.” He sighed. “I love them and I miss them more than I can bear, but I didn’t… I didn’t want to burden anyone with those kinds of feelings anymore. We all have family.”
Even when Lance’s father berated him for his stupidity, even when he was called faggot or queer or told that he would someday perish in hell because of his unnatural sexuality; his “disgusting” effeminate behavior; his failure as a fighter pilot or his borderline, unnatural obsession for “besting” his rival – Lance still loved his dad.
He was a flawed man. He was only human after all.
Keith rubbed small, soothing circles into Lance’s back. He couldn’t recall how they had ended up in this position, him on top of the Red Paladin as they laid comfortably on his bed, but Lance wasn’t complaining.
“I’m sorry.”
Lance frowned in confusion. “For what?”
“For trying to snoop. I know we haven’t been dating for long, but I… I couldn’t help myself. I just wanted to get to know you better, outside of our stupid rivalry.”
“Hey man, our rivalry is not stupid! It got your attention didn’t it?”
Keith laughed. “Oh yeah, sure it did.”
Lance nuzzled into the boy’s neck. He heard his father’s voice playback in his mind calling him disgusting for daring to cuddle with another man and the shame he would bring upon his family if they ever found out. He should have felt disappointed in himself, perhaps even a little terrified, but Lance found, much to his surprise, that he wasn’t worried. Instead, he felt hopeful—hopeful for the chance to come back to Earth as an intergalactic hero and maybe even proud of who he is.
He stared up Keith, who gazed off into the ceiling looking thoughtful.
Maybe he’ll get the chance to show off Keith to his family someday.

Makaya McCraven Interview: Changing Structures
Tumblr media
BY JORDAN MAINZER
You could call Makaya McCraven a global artist, having been born in Paris, grown up in Amherst, Massachusetts, exemplified the Chicago jazz scene, and collaborated with artists on multiple continents. But as a drummer truly influenced by genres and traditional music the world over, to McCraven, he hasn’t quite reached that designation. His most recent album, the incredible Universal Beings (our #21 favorite album of 2018), is the most “global” album he’s released yet, recorded live in the three biggest U.S. cities and London, each location given its own unique band and section on the album. At only 35 years old, though, and with McCraven’s clear ambition and vision, the possibilities seem far beyond the scope of Western music.
A label that McCraven might agree with is “versatile.” For a number of year’s, he’s played Chicago’s most prominent jazz venues, opened for Kamasi Washington and Lee Fields, participated in multiple “Round Robin” experimental performances with other local artists of all genres, and most recently, played in a tribute concert to J Dilla. We’ll catch him at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville next week. In preview, we spoke to him over the phone earlier this year; we talked about his beginning years, playing live and touring, and the often paradoxical nature of improvisation.
Since I Left You: Do you feel like you came up in the Chicago scene? Or did your pre-Chicago musical endeavors set the bar for you?
Makaya McCraven: All of the above. I had a strong musical career from a young age, and I had very strong mentors and a musician family. I was already on my way. When I came up here with my girlfriend at the time and now my wife, and I started to check out the scene. I felt a certain kinship with where I came from and just in terms of musicians I came up under. I made good relationships. The Chicago scene, and everybody around me here--my collaborators, teachers, mentors--really came to me at a formative time when I was creating my own musical identity, the one bouncing around groups. I had been working with lots of bands for a long time. I was co-creator of a lot of projects since I was a teenager. Chicago definitely has a big part of my creative identity as an artist.
SILY: Over the past few years, I saw you open for Kamasi Washington at the Bottom Lounge and then for Lee Fields at the Pritzker Pavilion. Do you look back at your opportunities to play with other artists as equally formative?
MM: Absolutely. Working with a lot of musicians as a side man and collaborator, a different team under different circumstances, is a big part of my identity and how I came up as a musician. How I worked myself as a human being in the arts. I feel fortunate for that. The crux of my career is being able to work with and be open to working with a lot of different people. Commitment to self-growth is within that.
Tumblr media
SILY: Universal Beings is a very global kind of record, and you’ve gotten a lot of opportunity to play globally. Do you still feel pretty embedded in the Chicago scene though?
MM: Yeah, definitely. A lot of the musicians I work with are Chicago-based or from Chicago or come to Chicago. I’ve always worked with a lot of people in and out of Chicago, so that doesn’t feel new, either. Being here, I get to take part in the community and work with the musicians here. I definitely feel part of it. When you’re on the road a lot, it’s not the same as being home. You’re always out at every gig and every spot. It’s definitely different.
SILY: Do you have a favorite place to play?
MM: That’s always difficult. I could point to markets where I have lots of fans--I like to go to London because I get a lot of support and people show me lots of love. But I don’t really like to pick favorites.
SILY: Maybe an easier question: Where haven’t you played that you’re dying to play?
MM: Yeah. The idea that Universal Beings is global is narrowly defined because we visited only English-speaking places during the creation of the record, while we have influences from all over the world. So most of my touring has been in Europe and through North America. We’ve gone to Asia before as well, and I’ve done some traveling on my own. I have yet to travel around Africa. I’d love to go to South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal, Mali. All of these places have such rich musical cultures unique to each place and diverse within each place, as well. South America as well. Again, rich in diverse musical culture. It’s a big world out there.
SILY: Are you playing Universal Beings at Big Ears?
MM: I have no idea. But most likely. That’s the material we’ve been touring on. A lot of the performing I do at festivals, I like to perform a lot of my repertoire, probably from Universal Beings but also throughout my catalog and the music I’m making.
SILY: Who is in your touring band?
MM: The fun thing about my touring band is it kind of rotates between different core musicians. I like that--I like to switch it up and play with different people.
SILY: Both Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming are at Big Ears. Will [saxophonist] Shabaka [Hutchings] be in your band?
MM: No, no, no, no.
SILY: That’s too bad!
MM: It’s fun. Me and Shabaka met on the road 3-4 years ago, and we’d always bump into each other on tour for a while. But playing with each other is a rare occasion.
SILY: How many days will you be at the festival?
MM: Just a couple days passing through. Gotta keep on moving. Too often, there’s a really great festival and we don’t get too much time to enjoy it.
SILY: Are you productive on the road, writing-wise?
MM: It really depends. I’ve had tours where I’ve had a whole stack of work I’ve been able to get through, music and otherwise. Other times, I’m on the road, and I’m just in that zone. I have a lot of responsibilities on the road. I’m the band leader and the tour manager as well. I may have some interviews to do, I have soundcheck, we have pretty intensive travel itineraries. And we have to play shows. And eat dinner and things like that. Maybe general hygiene. When I’m productive, it’s always great. But sometimes, you don’t really have the moment or the mental space.
SILY: A lot of Universal Beings was recorded live. How do you approach playing it live?
MM: I like to think of the writing process--collectively brainstorming with a group of musicians and trying to make some composition sense out of it. Improvisation I like to think of as spontaneous composition rather than non-idiomatic. After going through that process, when I have recordings, that little tune in the sonic space has a “thing.” To represent that thing, I transcribe it onto sheet paper or learn it by ear, and create a form to play it or improvise it as a song structure the way jazz musicians do, because not all jazz is free-form improvisation.
SILY: Do you think when people talk about improvisation they tend not to distinguish between different levels or types of it?
MM: Yeah. I think when we talk about improvisation in music, there are a lot of blurry lines. Somebody asked me after playing a jazz standard, “How much of that was improvised?” And the band leader said, “All of it.” What I loved about that comment was that no matter how much structure we were playing, we were fully improvising in the moment around that structure. We were still fully improvising even within the confines of the structure. This is the natural state of being--interacting with the world in real time. We put structure into our lives, and we still follow it, but we improvise in the way that we have to react and respond in real-time. Playing is the same.
Improvised music also has strong cultural meaning behind where that type of music was started or played. Sometimes it’s about abstraction; sometimes it’s about creating together or avoiding traditional time or within the confines of time. Or, if you wanna have no rules, does that mean if you’re playing with other people, they can make up their own rule because you can’t make a rule that they can’t make up rules? It’s a lot of give and take, improvising with other people. Trying to find common ground in your goals and missions and where the music is taking you.
For me, wanting to re-purpose the music in some way and make some piece out of it born from its roots, I can pick textures I like and edit them or find the right point for something else to come in.
SILY: Do you think the different parts of Universal Beings share the same improvisational philosophy?
MM: With these types of spontaneous compositions, I try to direct the music in some degree with musical action. Being the drummer, I have a lot of power to decide to set a groove or push the dynamics one way or another or do a drum call to cue something that could be an unidentified moment. It’s like, “Hey everybody, we’re gonna do something! Nobody knows what it is, but I’m cuing it.” Usually, in those improvised sessions, I don’t want to drag on things too long. I love trying to get more information out of the musicians, but I don’t like to improvise for a very long time. We play for a while, if something cool happens, we stick on in. Or I might scramble it up with some free play.
SILY: What’s next for you?
MM: I always got a few things cooking. I have a couple projects in different stages of completion. Producing some projects for some other jazz artists. We’re about to tour quite a bit starting in the spring. [doing his best advertiser voice] Coming to a city near you!
SILY: Is there anything you’ve been listening to, watching, or reading that’s caught your attention?
MM: The news?!?
SILY: I meant something positive.
MM: [laughs] I wish I was more engaged. Right now I’m swamped in my work...[pauses to think]...Nothing. I’ve just been deep in these projects I have due. I listen to the radio in the car.
SILY: What station do you listen to?
MM: I listen to Vocalo in the morning with my kids.

a happy medium - wonhui
wen junhui is just your average 20-year-old university student. he pulls all-nighters, goofs off with his friends, and parties a bit more than he should. oh, and he talks to dead people. somehow, he manages to balance being a student and a medium without much difficulty, but lately he’s been getting a little too distracted by spirit. more specifically, by a grandmother spirit belonging to the hottest guy in his lecture… and she’s desperate to try and set the two of them up. he really doesn’t want to give the stranger a reading, afraid she might make him say something embarrassing, but at this point, he’s going to fail the class if she doesn’t shut up.

Visiting the Underworld has never been on the list of Wonwoo’s favorite things to do but he guesses it can always get worse.
a wave breaking on the shore - soonwoo
When the sun stops shining so brightly, make a stop by the beach to check up on it. Soonyoung and Wonwoo are figuring things out.
and the stars forever dwell - meanie
“I’m Wonwoo. My dad is the caretaker here, but you already knew that.”
Wonwoo is right, and Mingyu is a liar.
Sir Jeon is the resident caretaker of these dragons—the best in the capital—and his son, Wonwoo?
Well, Mingyu wouldn’t call him a stranger.
art isn’t meant to be hung up, anyways - soonwoo
“I’m taking you on the first date,” Wonwoo says, surely, though Soonyoung catches the slight tremble of his fingers, the catch in his throat, the way his eyes dart back and forth between Soonyoung and Seokmin, as if daring to contradict him.
“I would like to take you on a date,” Soonyoung decides to say instead, putting the flowers into a vase. “It’s nicer if you ask this way. I’d also be more inclined to say yes, you know.”
“Yes,” Wonwoo tilts his head. “What you said.”
or, the one where Wonwoo decides it’d be a good idea to take Soonyoung on dates because he really, really wants something Soonyoung has.
as the carnations bloom - wonhui
Junhui presses his lips onto Wonwoo’s, slipping the red carnation into Wonwoo’s hair, and Wonwoo knew exactly what it meant; deep love and affection.
become the star of this night (and shine on me) - soonwoo
Wonwoo has always loved the stars.
(in which Wonwoo and Soonyoung found each other underneath the stars)
bedtime tendencies - meanie aff
Mingyu doesn’t know when and why exactly he starts leaving a space on his bed for Wonwoo at night, but he does it anyway.
blush pink roses - soonwoo
Wonwoo is a cute florist and Soonyoung is the disaster gay that comes in every week to buy flowers so he can see him.
breakfast: the most important meal of the day - meanie
Without thinking about the possible implications of his action, Mingyu cooks breakfast for his one-night stand. So when his one-night stand comes out of the bedroom looking like he’s about to leave, awkwardness ensues. And just when Mingyu decides everything will be okay because he’s never going to see the guy again, he sees the guy again.
budding love - wonhui
Coming from rival flower shops, Wonwoo and Jun are not allowed to interact. Too bad they don’t particularly agree with their family rule. (Or the one where WonHui become the modern and flowery equivalent of Romeo and Juliet)
burnt norton - soonwoo
Three (completely!!!) hypothetical questions, two boys with a hangover, and one ramen joint booth in Seoul.
(but i got) tunnel vision - meanie
“But you’ve only just created your account.”
“Exactly.” It takes a lot of self-control not to toss his phone to the far end of the table the way one might a hissing snake; as vehement a statement as it might make (and Wonwoo’s feelings are most definitely vehement and then some), it is an expensive phone.
He settles on setting it down as decisively as possible, pointedly turning off the screen. “Ok, I’ve signed up for OkCupid, gotten the welcome email, filled in the necessary details, yadda, yadda, yadda. Can we get to revising now please?”
-
If there is anything that will get your mind off an unrequited crush on your best friend, it’s definitely an online dating application. So naturally, Wonwoo ends up being coerced into joining OkCupid for two weeks.
can’t do without - soonwoo
“You don’t talk much, huh?” the boy says, wrinkling his brows and squinting at him. “That’s okay though, I talk a lot.”
Wonwoo stares at the unwavering smile on the other boy’s face.
“I’m Kwon Soonyoung, by the way,” he says. “We should be friends.”
car trouble. - wonhoon
Wonwoo sits back in his seat after his umpteenth attempt at starting the car, muttering “useless piece of junk” under his breath, although Jihoon could practically spell each word out in the air in front of him.
choosing the right place to put it - woncheol
Seungcheol lets Wonwoo adopt a cat. It’s a lot worse than he thought it would be.
clusters of galaxies in your eyes - soonwoo
Soonyoung’s astronaut boyfriend is finally coming home. Finally.
come a little closer - soonwoo
It’s a long weekend, and Wonwoo intends to enjoy his Sunday.
Or: I just wanted an excuse to write more soft making out Soonyoung and Wonwoo fic.
come to me - wonhao, soongyu
wonwoo is sick and tired of soonyoung trying to set him up with every guy he meets, so instead he takes matters into his own hands.
confession - wonhan
Jeonghan likes his potions partner.
cradle me in your comfort, will you? - wonshua
Wonwoo finds his way with words.
aka a soft, domestic, a-day-in-the-life wonshua for anyone who likes and appreciates this ship
cupid hit me with precision - woncheol, jihan
The thing about working at a PC Bang is that it tends to have regulars. Guys with big glasses who are dreaming of going pro in League of Legends, guys in their late 20s who just want a place to go to play games in peace, kids who don’t quite have the gaming setup they want just yet. Seungcheol’s favorite regular comes in on Thursdays.
curiosity killed the cat - soonwoo
Soonyoung is having a no good, lousy, awful day. And it doesn’t help that the attractive stranger sitting next to him on the train smells strongly of fish, for some strange reason.
cu(t)e cards - meanie
Wonwoo helps Mingyu for his job interview. Mingyu loves playing around.
diving too deep for coins - meanie
Taking a step forward, his entire body shudders, gravity and wind working against him and pushing him towards the dark surface. Tears well up in his eyes, and he wipes them with his sleeve. He sways on his feet.
Wonwoo lets his tears drop first.
His body follows.
don’t gotta worry about me (i got all my love in my arms) - meanie
They live together and love together, but that doesn’t mean everything is perfect.
(It’s more than perfect.)
dots & lines - soonwoo
Wonwoo just wishes someone had told him how easy it is to fall in love with someone, especially when that person is Kwon Soonyoung.
dramatic fool - meanie
Of all the dramatic things that Kim Mingyu has done and said, some tend to shock Jeon Wonwoo more than others.
Or the one where the best friends have climatic-non-climatic feeling realizations.
earth angel - wonhui
Even when Jun’s perfectly planned date falls apart, and they’re stuck at some old diner in the middle of nowhere, it seems like Jeon Wonwoo can put anything back together and make it worthwhile.
aka, the one where Jun tells Wonwoo he loves him for the first time
easier said than done - wonhoon
It’s easier for Jihoon to express his endearment with expressions and actions rather than with words, but it’s difficult because he’s not sure if it’s easy for Wonwoo to decipher.
eat your heart out, joshua hong - wonshua
No one ever told Joshua that the hardest part of being a superhero is getting the boy.
eggsquisite - wonhao
Minghao watches them go, observes the couples and hopeful singles that filter through the store, looking for the perfect present to give their loved ones, and hopes, with that small part of his mind - stuffed and locked away as it was - that he’d be able to have a fairy tale like that for himself one day too.
Alternatively: Minghao is a salty, single pringle.
everything i could give - soonwoo
Wonwoo is a servant in the Kwon household, and Soonyoung is the Crown Prince.
floriography (you’re my orange blossom). - soonwoo
Soonyoung speaks with flowers. Wonwoo speaks with paint.
(a.k.a florist!Soonyoung meets painter!Wonwoo and feelings ensue)
flower petals - 96z
When he had first seen the flowers bloom across his flesh on his 16th birthday he had been entranced. He had sat in front of his mirror until the clock struck midnight waiting with as much exposed skin as possible in an attempt to watch his mark appear. The slow outline of each flower being drawn had kept him staring at his mirror for nearly an hour.
forever (a place where i’m with you) - soonwoo
Wonwoo’s concept of forever has always been by the book. It’s not until today that he realizes that he had been using the word “forever” wrong all this time and it’s all thanks to Soonyoung.
frustration management issues - wonshua
joshua hong, the boy gifted with the power of being calm despite the stress and frustrations university may bring about, has a secret (or two) that only jeon wonwoo knows.
together they learn the best way to de-stress when hell week comes.
(it may or may not involve dark alleyways and drunken kisses.)
got you dreamin’ - soonwoo
Oh, why’d you have to be so cute? It’s impossible to ignore you, ah Why must you make me laugh so much? It’s bad enough we get along so well
(loosely based on goodnight n go by ariana grande)
gymnopedie - soonwoo
If fanning on embers is a bad thing, I’ll become a bad man.
Soonyoung may have slight abandonment issues and a fear of guilt-tripping. Wonwoo mistakes loyalty as an excuse to hold against touching him. Everything falls into place, bit by bit.
herbs - soonwoo
Single father Soonyoung and his daughter Soonji have just moved into a rural community and decide to visit the herb garden near the village.
hersheys - meanie
Mingyu and Wonwoo are best friends, sometimes they share kisses.

Wonwoo dances on a tightrope looking for the silver lining to destruction.
how to get a date with a hot cat dad - soonwoo
Soonyoung is a self-admitted helpless romantic, which is fine, until one day at the pet clinic he works in walks Jeon Wonwoo and his damn cat. And then, again. And, again. It makes Soonyoung ask 1) how many cats does this hot stranger have? and 2) how the hell do I get a date with him?
how to woo a pretty boy with his favorite flower - wonhui
Junhui didn’t expect to meet the cutest boy in the world in a flowershop while hiding from creepy fans, but he did.
how will i know? - wonhao
how will wonwoo know when he’s finally gotten things together? minghao doesn’t give him an answer with words, but wonwoo already has one anyway.

When everyone thought the student council president and vice president were just best friends.
(+ the time everyone found out the truth)
i just wanna be yours; - wonshua
wonwoo cups jisoo’s face in his hands and murmurs against his lips, “i want you.” jisoo blinks. “hm?”
i kinda want u(ber) - wonhao
Cute delivery guys apparently really do exist.
i kissed a boy - wonhao
“I kissed a boy,” Wonwoo says. He didn’t really have much thought on it other than that he kissed a certain Chinese sophomore in the room.
i want (a pizza) you - meanie aff
Mingyu isn’t really expecting his request for the cutest delivery person at one in the morning to be fulfilled.
i want a refund - soonwoo
“Wonwoo, quick! Kiss me!”
“Wha-”
“My boss is walking over! Kiss me!!”
Soonyoung’s probably rubbed off some or completely transferred over all his panic to Wonwoo because Wonwoo doesn’t even think. Except for maybe one last “Fuck it.” in his head before he uses his free hand, the one not holding the bottle of beer to gently grab Soonyoung’s chin, turning his face towards him and crashes their lips together.
i’ll give you everything - meanie
“I’ll give you the sun, the stars, the ocean, the time, the wind, and the fireflies—hell, I’ll give everything I have only if I can have you.”
OR
When Kim Mingyu is willing to give up everything he has just to be with Wonwoo.
i’m okay (i’m not okay) - wonhui
Junhui misses Wonwoo, and maybe Wonwoo misses him too.
if it ain’t chickens, it’s feathers - soonwoo
And if it ain’t feathers, then what is it, really?
if these blankets could talk - soonwoo
Soonyoung should not be left alone to his own devices. After living with him for the semester, Wonwoo has come to learn precisely why.
in a heartbeat - meanie
Mingyu finds himself drawn to him, to his effortlessly handsome features and slender frame, to the way the sunlight reflects off his dark hair just so, to the slight scrunch of his nose when he smiles.
For the first time in his life, Mingyu forgets to take a photo.
in out up down - soonwoo
To forget, to remember, to live, to die. They’re all jumbled up lately, and Wonwoo can’t seem to remember what the difference is.

Wonwoo hides behind his sweaters. The world is a scary place.
it’s alright if it’s you - wonshua

and
3) jisoo can do anything for his boyfriend

Jeonghan leads a very comfortable life. It’s not often he gets the feeling something is about to burn.
liar liar pants on fire - meanie
No one believes Mingyu when he says he’s dating Wonwoo.
leave (vb): to go away from, to remain - meanie
You always hear stories about the one being left behind. They should tell more stories about the ones leaving, Mingyu thinks, as he stares blankly at the road disappearing behind him in the rearview mirror. Because they all talk about being left behind, but no one ever told him that leaving would hurt like this.
(In which Mingyu is Wonwoo’s moon.)
light up a fire - meanie
wonwoo’s six break ups with mingyu
like the broken pottery mended with gold - wonhui
“You’re not a robot, are you?” Wonwoo asked, incredulous. Junhui laughed at him instead of answering. And Wonwoo could only stare from across the table, transfixed, because when Junhui laughed the rest of his body also laughed with him. That, Wonwoo thought, might just be one of the most charming things he had ever seen. * The world broke for Junhui. Wonwoo put his pieces back together. Kind of.
love story of a boy - soonwoo
Soonyoung doesn’t remember a time when he didn’t know Wonwoo, doesn’t remember a time when he didn’t know how it felt to have Wonwoo next to him.

morning rush - soonwoo
In which Soonyoung finds love in a hopeless place. Not really, he’s just running late on one particular day and has to enter a battlefield, also known as, Japan’s railway morning rush, when he finds himself utterly and irrevocably whipped for a stranger he meets inside a very, very crowded train.

paper boats of love - meanie
Mingyu loves to send off small paper boats with cute sayings written on them on the pond near his house, hoping his neighbor will see him. One day, he’s surprised to see a paper boat that comes back with writing that isn’t his.
pack (and unpack (and unpack)) - wonhao
At the end of it all, there will be nothing but boxes full of things you don’t need and nowhere left to put them.
recollections - wonhui
Junhui reminds him of a storybook character, of one of those princesses trapped within a tower, unable to escape. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Wonwoo likes to indulge the delusion that he could be Junhui’s prince.
reinventing the flightless bird - soonwoo
Wonwoo already knows that folding paper is not as simple as it looks, but the boy in the library still takes every opportunity to show him exactly how.
save as draft - meanie
“I gotta write a poem; it’s due tomorrow.”
Mingyu doesn’t flinch, but Wonwoo uses his right foot to nudge a bit of his skin, trying to help him relax. “Shouldn’t you be writing it then, instead of doing laundry, ordering food and washing my hair?”
“You’re quite distracting.” But what he means is “you’re quite inspiring”.

a potioneer and a herbal witch cross paths with a bad witch.

take care
Wonwoo’s migraine is killing him- or, at least, that’s what it feels like. The members to their best to make it all better.
take my hand (take my whole life, too) - meanie
Mingyu loves spending time with his friend, Wonwoo. Mostly in bed, mostly without their clothes on.
Mingyu also wants to spend Wonwoo’s birthday with him, since that’d be cool.
Except Wonwoo has a date (or at least Mingyu thinks so) and now he has to think about why his heart aches at the thought if they aren’t in a relationship to begin with.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. When Wonwoo moved into his new apartment with his boyfriend, he hadn’t been expecting the latter. Domestic pet-raising AU.
the equation of gravity - soonwoo
It’s kind of a paradox, really: they’re both wholly averse to love, but also half in love with each other.
(Soonyoung is the complete opposite of Wonwoo, but he’s a pretty good roommate. Anything more with him, though, would be messy. And to Wonwoo’s credit, he actually lasts a surprising amount of time before he feels the ground give out from underneath him and falls.)
the methods i do best - soonwoo
Everything starts, as it always does, with Seungkwan opening his mouth.

Before they start their last year of college, Soonyoung convinces Junhui, Wonwoo and Jihoon to go on a road trip.
this might be cheesy, but i think you’re grate - wonhui
Junhui is a flirt. Wonwoo knows this. Hell, everyone does. Once Junhui warms up to you, he drops lines left and right. Most of their friends just roll their eyes and shake it off. Minghao sometimes smacks him. Seungkwan makes sassy comments about how he should stop learning Korean. Wonwoo mostly tries to pretend he hasn’t heard a single word and prays his pokerface is good enough to conceal the sheer gay panic that runs through his veins every time Junhui flirts with him.
thumbs up - wonhoon
It’s a twist of cheese bread, first.
That makes its way onto Jihoon’s desk, an assortment of food laid out for him.
to give back - wonhan
Wonwoo wasn’t the best at expressing his emotions. But that didn’t mean that he loved any lesser.
to write about love - soonwoo
I’m not a love poet. But if I was to wake up tomorrow and decide that I really wanted to write about love - my first poem would be about you. Soonyoung owns a vegan bakery, Wonwoo’s a down on his luck author with writer’s block and sometimes we find good things in places we aren’t even looking.
transmogrify - soonwoo
in which wonwoo has an incurable disease, soonyoung is determined to cure said incurable disease, and stealing from a witch has consequences, no matter how pure your intentions.
(a fairy tale, kind of, with a happy ending, kind of.)
waiting up all night - meanie
“Up all night, by Oliver Tank.”
“Pardon?” He asks, curious about the sudden response.
The shorter boy smiles, “The song you were dancing to. It’s called Up all night by Oliver Tank. He makes good music.”
Or: where Mingyu waits each night for the mystery boy who buys a pack of cigarettes, skittles, m&m’s and recommends him songs.

you feel like summer time - meanie
The light from the slowly sinking sun creates a soft glow around Wonwoo’s head, revealing the warm brown tones in his hair that usually go unnoticed.
The smile drops from Mingyu’s face without him realizing it, completely lost in the ethereal aura of his best friend. It’s only when Wonwoo’s face falls in concern that Mingyu realizes he must be acting weird.
“Mingyu?” Wonwoo asks carefully, eyebrows knitting together. The pulse in Mingyu’s veins only quickens, because no matter what face Wonwoo pulls, it carefully tugs at each of Mingyu’s heartstrings.
Or—it’s summer time and maybe Mingyu is a little bit in love.
you make me feel (how you’re looking at me) - meanie
Wonwoo made room for Mingyu without being asked, put his back to the wall so Mingyu could slide right into his arms.
“Please,” Mingyu said in a whisper so soft that Wonwoo almost didn’t hear it. He didn’t need to. He knew what Mingyu was here for.
—Or—
Jeon Wonwoo’s continued collision with Kim Mingyu, or more correctly, with the truth.

Samsung FlexWash/FlexDry Inspired Laundry Room Makeover
Nothing beats the sense of accomplishment you feel when you truly do it yourself. Read on to see how Rachel completely transformed her entire laundry room with the help of The Home Depot.
Samsung FlexWash/FlexDry Inspired Laundry Room Makeover
Choosing the right appliances for your laundry room is one of the most adult-iest things you can do which (for me personally) puts on some pressure. What if it doesn’t work for my space? What if the other humans in my house don’t know how to work it and it breaks? What if it doesn’t hold as much as I need it to? What if, what if, what if…well, The Home Depot answers all those questions and calms those buying nerves … and to top it off, I didn’t even have to go into the store!
Our household consists of myself (woodworker/DIY YouTuber), my boyfriend who is a professional skater, a mini human who is a full time gymnast on her quest to be in the Olympics and a 35 lb micro English Bulldog that doesn’t understand the concept of, “don’t get up on that” especially after rolling in the mud with a basketball.
Our professions and our passions go hand in hand with messes – from saw dust, to asphalt stains from Paul’s skateboard bails to the mini human spilling her latest slime concoction on her competition leotard as we’re on the way out the door. We need a new washer + dryer duo that can keep up.
Upgrading your appliances doesn’t happen often so when you are faced with the task, it can be a bit intense when trying to consider all the things your household needs. I am the only person who does laundry in our home so this made the process a tad bit easier. Not everyone is a list maker but I believe it is crucial when appliance shopping! I began by gathering my ideas on my clipboard and creating a wishlist.
Black Appliances – call me crazy but I wanted to get black appliances to force me to switch the color scheme and decor of the laundry room.
The Bigger, The Better – as I’ve mentioned previously; all the humans in our household are active, on the go and changing clothes way too often so I needed appliances that could handle larger loads to cut my time down a bit.
Efficiency – The washer and dryer we have now has broken four times in the last year. The solution given to us via service tech was to “not put as much in” since it couldn’t handle a heavy load. That meant I cut my regular size loads in half to avoid breaking the drum which dragged out the chore much longer than it needed to be.
Able to Handle All The Jobs – In a perfect world, I would take what’s labeled “dry clean only” to the dry cleaners but that doesn’t happen. I wanted to have a wash/dryer that I didn’t have to close my eyes and send “please don’t shrink or warp” vibes as I press the button to start the cycle.
Smart – Months ago I heard my trainer say he can check, change, start and stop loads of laundry on his phone ….um, count me in.
After I listed everything out, I started to browse! Choosing the right appliances seemed scary but The Home Depot took the intimidation out of the hunt really quickly. Our schedule took an unexpected turn when my boyfriend sustained his first serious injury in his 20 year career and I wasn’t able to make time to go browse in the store. I thought not being able to see the appliances in person would make the most crucial part also the most difficult.
I grabbed my coffee and settled into my office thinking I was going to be there for a while. Au contraire my friends! Filtering through The Home Depot’s site was a piece of cake. It genuinely didn’t take me longer than fifteen minutes to find the duo of my dreams. I filtered it down by choosing gas, my color and then size. When you read my wishlist, you were also probably thinking to yourself “there’s no way she’ll find that all in one duo”…
Allow me to introduce you to the Samsung 7.5 cu. ft. FlexWash/FlexDry with Steam in a Black Stainless finish! It checked off every single one of my must-haves which sounds way too good to be true but it isn’t – let me walk you through my favorite features!
We previously had white appliances that blended with the entire room. Switching to the Black Stainless finish inspired me to change up the whole space. I decided to brighten it up with a couple coats of Behr’s Ultra Flat White and embrace the black with natural tones throughout. We’ll touch more on that later…
4 – in – 1
The feature that won me over is being able to essentially do four loads at once.
Both appliances have an upper compartment that operate totally independent of one another. It can handle a handful of items whether that be a few of your delicates, dogs toys or your favorite jeans you forgot to wash. In other words… you don’t need to wait for an entire load to build up/you don’t have to feel guilty about doing a load for one garment.
Now these upper compartments can’t hold as much as the bottom but for a household like mine where so many different items need to be washed/dried in a particular way it’s going to save me and our clothes a ton of time!
The Bigger, The Better
Both washer and dryer have a 6 cubic feet capacity. I don’t know about you but with our previous washer and dryer, I would either pull out a load that wasn’t fully dry or there was a load that somehow still had soap on it. With the Samsung FlexWash/FlexDry, I don’t have to worry! It washes and drys thoroughly every time.
Plenty of Options
The washer holds a special place in my heart as I can now choose the soil level – I didn’t even know that was a thing but I’m newly obsessed. When you set your soil level higher, the cycle and length of time will adjust accordingly. But wait, there’s more! Super speed is a feature that allows you to wash a full load in as little as 30 minutes (45% faster).
They’re Smart!
I am a full time DIY YouTuber so content creation, building and never slowing down is the name of my daily routine. By downloading the SmartThings app, I am able to continue to be on-the-go but in the know. I am able to start, stop and check the progress of my loads whilst doing other tasks (aka lifeguarding my dog while she’s in her kiddie pool).
They’re Gorgeous
There really is no denying how beautiful these babies are! This duo inspired me to completely makeover my laundry room to be able to handle all the jobs just as my new appliances do.
I opened up the space by taking down our built-in’s and DIY’ing wall-to-wall floating shelves with a Summer Oak Wood Stain. This not only forced me to store items that we really needed but also to showcase them! One easy way to update your space is to incorporate decorative storage. I decided to go with a mixture of Baskets with Braided Handles and some Woven Hyacinth Storage Baskets to hold my outdoor pillows and laundry needs!
By replacing the sink we never used with a folding station, we are able to sit and fold clothes at our leisure versus piling them on top of ourselves and running upstairs. I built the table myself so I was able to customize the height to fit two Laundry Sorter Carts and a Black Bar Stool.
Once I had all my functional decor out of the way, I wanted to sprinkle some black and white wall decor which The Home Depot had readily available online. I always tackle purchasing decor last. You never know where your heart is going to take you whilst painting or making large cosmetic changes.
Who is she!? It’s a whole new space! Did I mention I tackled this flip solo? Since I documented the process as I went, it took me about three weeks to handle this beast on my own. It is such a sense of accomplishment when you truly do it yourself. Thanks to The Home Depot I have a new found love for a chore I use to hate and an appreciation for a room I use to neglect. I may just move on in.
