Last night's hyperfixation was xiaolongbao and I love how this person describes them in their recipe
"Chinese Soup Dumplings, or xiaolongbao (小笼包), are perhaps the most perfect single bite of food ever conceived by man."
#heard it on some random tiktok and was curious what the word meant#then before i knew it#it was midnight and i was looking at all of the menus of asian restaurants within an hour of me#none of them have soup dumplings 😩#but my sister said today that she thinks trader joes sells them#so I'll probably get them there#i want to try them before i attempt to make them so i know what theyre supposed to be like#the aspic sounds especially delicious#it's basically bone broth?#but they use the skin too?!#amazing#love it
