assigning some of my favorite characters genshin mains and teams because i Can and i Will
i know the amount of 5stars ive assigned a lot of them is lowkey unreasonable but i dont care dhsjfbsk this is purely based on vibes or if it fits their character also this is my opinion so let me vibe please
suzuya juuzou - rosaria main definitely. he’d also love and use hu tao, xiao, and zhongli (shinopapa vibes *cries*). i realize now i unknowingly gave him a full polearm team, but honestly it makes sense bc he would Absolutely Love all the polearm users, the polearms remind him of his scythe (he wishes rosaria had an actual scythe). i also think he would love scaramouche and is anxiously awaiting him becoming playable (me too dude, me too)
nagito komaeda - bennett main !!! he would see that unlucky boy and be like , you are me, i love you, you are precious, im maining you (he would be so much nicer to bennett than he is himself and he would probably cry while doing bennett’s hangout event). i think he’d also use ganyu, xiao, and ningguang (i have no basis for the latter three that was entirely gut feeling but i think it fits honestly). i also think he would have almost every 5star unlocked, as well as every 4star at c4 or higher, because his luck is just too damn good- although his bad luck kicked in and almost stopped him from getting xiao who he really wanted, so he whaled in order to get him
inosuke hashibira - not only would he main razor, but he would probably refuse to ever switch to any other character- he would have the starters (traveler [whose name is “INOSUKE” in all caps just like that], kaeya, and amber) but theyre all level 20 and razor is constantly on life support, but he is completely maxed out (c6, level 90, full level talents, fully levelled wolf’s gravestone). tanjiro is constantly yelling at him to start using more characters (he is the reason the others are level 20) but that just makes inosuke even more stubborn. should he eventually cave, he would probably also use venti (reminds him of zenitsu), childe (reminds him of tanjiro), and noelle (for nezuko- although he had to ask tanjiro for some help on that one)
ran mitake - Definitely xinyan main <3 i mean, the sole rock n roll musician of liyue ?? you Cannot !! tell me she wouldnt love xinyan. she would also have a super rad support barbara, as well as jean (reminds her of tomoe) and xingqiu (reminds her of moca). she doesnt have the room on her team, but she also really loves noelle because she reminds her of tsugumi, and amber because she reminds her of himari. she used them for a very long time because of that, she got clowned by some players who think the starter characters suck, but its ok cause ran knows theyre wrong and she does what she wants<3
ako udagawa - i struggled here bc i think she would absolutely Love a bunch of them but lets see- she would definitely Main and kin fischl for so many reasons (her style, the way she speaks, her general personality, and she wants a pet like oz). i think she’d also really love rosaria and hu tao (she Loves their aesthetics as well as how they are in battle, although hu tao is typically on the verge of death bc she always forgets to make food), as well as jean and sucrose (those two remind her of tomoe and rinko respectively and she’d probably switch them out depending on what she’s doing)
rinko shirokane - definitely sucrose main <3 she would also probably use fischl bc ako vibes !! plus i think she would be SUPER great at doing aimed shots and would do SO MUCH DAMAGE when hitting oz with an aimed shot- as well as mona bc i hc that she’s really interested in astrology and also hc that she loves mage characters in games (whether that is canon or not, i am not sure). also she would use bennett, both for extra healing as well as really loving him- she probably feels so bad for the poor unlucky boy awww :((
rio ranger - he switches between maining xiao and childe. he also uses diluc and rosaria !! he used kaeya for a very long time, but when rosaria came out he was like “I NEED HER”- pulling for rosaria was actually how he got childe, but he didnt mind because he actually really liked childe
reko yabusame - i really tried to give her someone other than xinyan but honestly i think she would love xinyan too much to not main her. she loves her style and her backstory so much, and she really wishes xinyan got more content. she also uses childe (bc alice vibes- no its not bc of the murderer stuff, i personally think they relate in other ways), sucrose (bc nao vibes), and beidou (bc she thinks beidou is hot as fuck, plus good elemental reactions and defense)
joe tazuna - i cant quite pick a single main but i think his team would be razor (dogboy joe go brr), bennett, venti, and maybe klee !! he loves the vibes of them all. he pulled jean and considered using her because she has sara vibes, but he decided to stick with venti mainly because he simply did not feel like grinding for her materials (i mean can you blame him? im currently struggling enough with that)
mutsuki tooru - first off the only reason he started playing was bc he saw saiko playing it and was intrigued. he would switch between maining xingqiu and venti !! it was love at first sight for him. he thought he would never get venti for a long long time, bc he missed venti’s first run. he used chongyun up until he pulled venti !! he also started saving his primos as soon as he heard speculation about venti having a rerun- and sure enough, he pulled him!! he felt like the happiest boy on earth<3 he would also have xiangling because he likes her vibes as well as her abilities, as well as albedo just bc he really likes him (he’s super invested in the homonculus + khaenri’ah theories and probably would make multiple tumblr posts about it)
ibuki mioda - xiny- *SMACKED* Actually i think she would have xinyan on her team, but her main? either klee or xiangling !! she loves their vibes n they lowkey remind her of herself. i also think she would really like diona for some reason, and probably beidou, idk why i just get the vibes !! she would have a Sick diona i just know it
chihiro fujisaki - i feel like he would switch between maining yanfei and sucrose !! yanfei just bc they like her, sucrose bc he relates to her a Lot <3 they would also use ningguang bc he admires her intelligence and determination, as well as chongyun- i almost gave him barbara, and i think they would love to use her, but he probably figured its not a good idea to have a full catalyst team despite how much they love catalysts, so he went with their next fave !! plus he knows claymores are super useful so it was a huge plus. he’s Super smart so they have so many tactics he uses, they’re Amazing with artifacts, and they Live for skillfully executed elemental combos
mikan tsumiki - she would have a full healer team, no doubt. barbara main !! duuuude she would have the SICKEST dps barbara omggg- she would do So much damage And be an Amazing healer !!! plus bennett, jean, and qiqi !!! she loves them all very much <3

BanG Dream! Favorite List - 9
So now that Morfonica has officially been introduced into the EN server of the game, I think it is time for this list to get updated. Yes, I know I originally said that I would wait until RAS would be introduced as well, but I changed my mind. Mainly because, unlike Morfonica, we already know quite a bit about RAS from the second and third season of the anime.
Which should already hint at something, but let’s just go into the list... I should also specify that while I will not spoil anything specific about the Morfonica band story, I have read it and it has made an impact on this list...
Favorites
Tumblr media
Yamabuki Saaya (1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)
Not here at the start, however. The start is still the same as always, as a certain vocalist would say. I mean, what can I say? Saaya is awesome, and the only thing that is holding her somewhat back... well, there are two things, really; she’s relatively static and she’s in a band who... isn’t as notable for me, as should become very obvious going down this list (if it wasn’t made obvious already). Nevertheless, Saaya’s still at the very top even if I don’t talk about or write her all that often.
Tumblr media
Aoba Moca (2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2)
No change here, either. Moca is still the same old Moca as she’s always been. The same lovable, teasing, going-at-my-own-pace genius. It really does take something special to be mistaken as my favorite character of the franchise for so long, and Moca definitely has it. And, to be fair, Moca did steal the number one spot for a bit... it’s just that Saaya has reclaimed the throne since then.
Tumblr media
Mitake Ran (3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3)
It would be weird if Ran’s spot wasn’t the same as it’s always been, now would it? In all seriousness, Ran may or may not have been rising in the rankings ever so slightly... mainly because of some interactions during lives that I found out she had. She’s got some pretty fun ones now that I may or may not have never heard before myself.
Tumblr media
Satou Masuki (20, 21, 10, 9, 9, 7, 4, 4, 4)
To be fair, Masuki... hasn’t really had a chance to show up, so she hasn’t had the opportunity to show that she deserves to rise in the rankings. Considering she would have to compete with Ran for the number three slot, she probably wouldn’t be rising any time soon, but still... she’s skyrocketed this far up the list, what’s a victim or two more thanks to her rising up the list?
Tumblr media
Hazawa Tsugumi (4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5)
Speaking of victims of Masuki skyrocketing up the list in the past, hi Tsugu. Admittedly quite static, but in Tsugu’s case... why change something that is already as great as she is? Being “normal” is usually a curse in these fave lists of mine, but Tsugumi manages to be a nice contrast to her colorful friends.
Tumblr media
Kirigaya Touko (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 22, 9, 6, 6)
The first of many (read: five) Morfonica girls. This should not come as much of a surprise; she was already 6th on the previous list. Now that Touko is officially in the game and I can read her band story and her card stories and all... I contemplated for a moment whether I should push Tsugumi down a spot, I really did. But... as much fun as Touko is to see on the screen, I do believe that Tsugumi deserves the higher spot. That being said, I love how Touko manages to be a mix of Lisa’s gyaru-loving self (without the issue that Lisa is facing... more on that when we get to Lisa), the teasing nature of Moca, and the going-at-my-own-pace nature of Moca as well. Definitely a fun and welcome addition to the cast, but...
Tumblr media
Hiromachi Nanami (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 28, 22, 22, 7)
Talk about a jump; Nanami’s fifteen spots jump puts the eleven spots of Masuki and thirteen spots of Touko to shame. What can I say? Morfonica definitely delivered when it comes to how much I love their characters. When I first read about Nanami I thought she would be the type of girl who is just awkwardly trying to insert herself into the conversation. Now that I have access to scenes featuring her, I can see how much fun watching this little genius is. As somebody who is writing mainly Moca-focused fanfics, it’s a refreshing and amusing change of pace watching Nanami scenes. Is seventh spot a bit ambitious? Maybe. But that’s why she can always change, right?
Tumblr media
Uehara Himari (6, 7, 8, 7, 7, 8, 7, 7, 8)
Nothing really changes for Himari, aside from the fact that Nanami now jumped up above her. I don’t like my favorite band’s leader any less; as a matter of fact, with Afterglow’s first album right around the corner... how can I not like my favorite band’s leader?
Tumblr media
Udagawa Tomoe (8, 8, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 9, 9)
Ah, Tomoe... the most awkwardly ranked Afterglow girl for me. I really love Tomoe, she’s an integral part of Afterglow and her more outgoing expressive nature serves as a nice contrast to the more subdued personalities of her bandmates. But in terms of writing Tomoe it’s always super difficult to give her the best scenes to shine in because of said contrast. Either way, she definitely deserved this spot.
Tumblr media
Shirokane Rinko (7, 6, 6, 5, 5, 6, 6, 8, 10)
...yeah, your safety net is starting to get torn. Not only with the introduction of Morfonica (and RAS in the not-too-distant future), but also... the main reasons why you’re still up here are not even necessarily tied to Rinko as a character. What’s worse, the era of Akesaka!Rinko is long gone... which makes it really challenging for me to try and incorporate her newer characterization... which means what is keeping Rinko up is the memory of Akesaka!Rinko, not Rinko herself... In other words, as much as it hurts me to say this, I’m not expecting Rinko to survive dropping significantly in the coming few lists...
Tumblr media
Futaba Tsukushi (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 18, 17, 16, 11)
And here we got another rise, the “favorite of the Morfonica girls based on first impressions”. As Touko would call her: Fusuke. As I call her: the Himari of Morfonica. I don’t know if it is because Afterglow is my favorite band, but... the comparisons between Morfonica’s members and Afterglow’s members is pretty obvious. Like, Fusuke is (1) the shortest girl of her band, and is made fun of it quite a bit (by Touko, no less XD), (2) the leader of the band, and (3) she even has pigtails. I know people compared her to Arisa when she first was released, but tell me that that doesn’t sound like Himari to you. Especially since I compared Touko to Moca earlier.
Loves
Tumblr media
Tamade Chiyu (13, 13, 16, 14, 15, 11, 11, 10, 12)
Same old song for RAS.
Tumblr media
Asahi Rokka (12, 12, 12, 12, 11, 10, 12, 11, 13)
Same old song for RAS.
Tumblr media
Nyubara Reona (14, 14, 14, 15, 16, 15, 13, 12, 14)
Same old song for RAS. Although, and I think I mentioned this in the previous list, I know the cards she will get. And without spoilering any of them, let’s just say that they are very colorful and I think that Reona definitely delivers when it comes to card art.
Tumblr media
Kurata Mashiro (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 21, 16, 15, 15)
Mashiron! Or Shiro! Or however you want to call her! I like to call her “adorable”, because that’s what she is; she’s adorable. I knew that you were the shy-type, but I honestly didn’t think I would continue to like you as much as I do considering how much of a shy-type you are. Honestly, you make Rinko look like the most confident girl in the franchise in comparison. But you’re great. You got a great singing voice and a lot of potential and I look forward to see how you will grow over the years.
Tumblr media
Maruyama Aya (9, 9, 9, 10, 10, 12, 14, 13, 16)
Nothing has changed about you, for better or for worse. Except the fact that a couple girls shot past you, but that’s beside the point and not at all this girl’s fault. I think Aya still has a lot of potential, but I don’t feel like I have seen enough of it to justify moving her around the list. The fact that she is still up here should signify that she’s definitely still a very good character.
On a side note: my girlfriend wanted to remind me that she still likes Aya, so I guess that’s reason enough for Aya to not drop more than she has? And she technically hasn’t even dropped; Morfonica just jumped...
Tumblr media
Wakamiya Eve (11, 10, 11, 13, 12, 14, 15, 14, 17)
Pretty much exactly the same as Aya above you. It becomes harder and harder to think of things to write for characters who don’t move much on the list over the many lists I make.
Likes
Tumblr media
Wakana Rei (25, 20, 15, 11, 13, 13, 18, 18, 18)
Same old song for RAS.
Tumblr media
Yashio Rui (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 24, 29, 29, 19)
Okay, Rui here is an interesting character. For many reasons. I really like what she has going for her; her characterization, her motivation, her emotions (or lack thereof). Just like how Tomoe’s super expressive and outgoing personality contrasts nicely with the more subdued personalities of the rest of Afterglow, Rui’s stoic personality is a nice balance to the high emotional levels (...with the possible exception of Nanami) of Morfonica. That being said, whether Rui doesn’t show or doesn’t feel any emotions is a different thing, and depending on what it is will strongly influence how easy it will be to try and write her.
Tumblr media
Shirasagi Chisato (22, 22, 22, 21, 22, 27, 26, 19, 20)
Again, nothing much I can say about you... this list is about Morfonica, mostly... though I will say that I’ve been seeing a lot of good Chisato art as of late.
Tumblr media
Hikawa Sayo (17, 16, 18, 18, 17, 17, 19, 20, 21)
Again, nothing much I can say about you other than that being in the band that you are really hurts you...
Tumblr media
Okusawa Misaki (10, 11, 13, 16, 14, 16, 20, 21, 22)
Again, nothing much I can say about you other than that being in the band that you are really hurts you...
Tumblr media
Imai Lisa (5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 5, 8, 17, 23)
Again, nothing much I can--okay, fine, I will talk about you. In a bubble, I admit that you are a great character. I like Lisa, I like most of her relationships with the other girls and I like her bright and upbeat attitude, especially considering which band she is in. However... what I really despise about Lisa is that she reminds me of a character who I don’t even want to name anymore, and as Kaoru can attest to... that’s not a very good thing to say the least... so down the list you go...
Tumblr media
Ichigaya Arisa (15, 17, 17, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24)
I considered putting Arisa above Lisa (or, better phrased, Lisa below Arisa), but... I don’t think that’s fair. I think that, despite Lisa’s shortcomings, I definitely still like Lisa more. That being said, I’ve seen a fun new art of an Arisa card in the future that I will definitely be keeping my eye on.
Tumblr media
Toyama Kasumi (26, 24, 23, 22, 21, 25, 23, 24, 25)
You know what’s the saddest part about Kasumi? I think I would like her a lot more if she was not pushed to be the protagonist of the franchise. Yes, I know that somebody has to do it, but... Kasumi has a lot going for her. A lot going for her that ended up being pushed under the rug. I mean, for one, Kasumi got an incredible singing voice that doesn’t get to shine as much as it possibly could because she needs to fill the role of “face of the franchise”.
Above neutral
Tumblr media
Hikawa Hina (24, 23, 25, 25, 24, 29, 30, 28, 26)
Talking about why I like Hina is kind of funny, but... as I said in the last post, I started playing Genshin Impact a little while back and my main character is Xiangling (a character voiced by the same person who voiced Hina). So by liking Xiangling more in Genshin I started liking Hina more in Bandori. That’s it. That’s my reasoning for putting Hina above Maya. Because Hina is Xiangling and Xiangling is awesome.
Tumblr media
Tsurumaki Kokoro (16, 15, 19, 19, 20, 20, 24, 25, 27)
Ah, Kokoron. You mean well and you’re definitely much deeper of a character than a lot of people might think you are. Unfortunately, the happy happy type songs aren’t my type of songs and, as I have said many times, Kokoro is a nightmare to depict in writing.
Tumblr media
Matsubara Kanon (23, 25, 24, 24, 23, 26, 28, 26, 28)
Kanon is great. ...yeah, that’s all I have. Sorry, Kanon, but trying to find new things to talk about when nothing too significant has happened is pretty challenging... I still don’t feel like Kanon has surpassed Kokoro, either, but... it’s definitely getting closer and closer.
Tumblr media
Yamato Maya (27, 26, 26, 27, 27, 31, 27, 27, 29)
Maya didn’t drop; I just decided I like Hina more. I still like Maya, I think Maya can offer a lot of potential. But it’s probably already a bit late for me to start diving into said potential, huh?
Tumblr media
Kitazawa Hagumi (29, 29, 29, 28, 29, 33, 33, 31, 30)
And there we go, Hagumi surpassed Afterglow’s drummer’s younger sister. Why? Because, well...
Neutral
Tumblr media
Udagawa Ako (19, 18, 20, 20, 19, 23, 25, 30, 31)
Being in Roselia is really detrimental for you, huh Ako? What’s worse, her one and only niche of being a gamer has effectively been taken away from her as Shining Sunlight proved I can do a gaming-focused plot without Ako and it works well enough. So far, anyway.
Tumblr media
Hanazono Tae (18, 19, 21, 23, 26, 30, 32, 32)
The same as always for this girl, and unlike the girls at the top I am begging Bushiroad to do something that would help her climb up the rankings again. Because Tae is likeable and a nice character... she just doesn’t stand out enough for me...
Tumblr media
Ushigome Rimi (28, 28, 27, 26, 28, 32, 32, 33, 33)
And the same holds true for Rimi. At least Rimi got some cool calls in lives, but... that’s not enough... that really isn’t enough...
Below neutral
Seta Kaoru (VB, VB, VB, VB, VB, VB, VB, 34, 34)
I will admit this: the fact that another character has taken your place on the very bottom of the list definitely helped make me dislike you less over the months. And I will also admit that you have some niche potential, especially since my earlier first impression of Rui being like you seems to be false (for better or for worse). Will I take you up to take advantage of that? Probably not... but fair is fair: I know the possibility is there so I figured I might as well acknowledge the fact that I know of the possibility.
And that’s all the characters, right? I definitely didn’t miss anyone, or at least I don’t think so. Eh, if I did then she probably isn’t important enough for me to mention.

list 10 different female faves from 10 different fandoms, then tag 10 people
Tagged by the lovely @chocochipbiscuit . I’m a little late to the game, but let’s see what I can come up with.  In no particular order:  1. Komugi (Hunter x Hunter)    A blind teenage Gungi champion (like chess but infinitely harder)-- hold on, did you hear me when I said she was blind? She beats the shit out of everyone at this board game without seeing a thing. She’s the breadwinner for her whole family, but they don’t even care about her. She gets sacrificed to the Chimera Ant King because he’s bored, and then she’s so damn talented and nice that he ends up developing real human feelings and not murdering everyone. TBH one of my favorite things about her is her design: big old pigtails, dark bushy eyebrows, and snot running out of her nose constantly. She’s not a beauty but you love her, and I cry all the time.  2. Moira Brown (Fallout 3)     She’s just so damn cute and cheerful! She’s a trader, inventor, and probably a lot else, and she always has something fun and nice to say. I just love how positive she is, even though (or maybe because) it often comes off as childish or purposefully obtuse. I think a lot of Fallout fans find her annoying, so it makes me happy that if you bomb Megaton, she’s the only one that survives. =D  3. Cassandra Pentaghast (Dragon Age)     Be still my heart! Cassandra is such an underrated character. I love her sharp somewhat-masculine design. She’s a hardened warrior with a strict personality!-- but when you get to know her, she’s very sweet and has deep insecurities. She’s extremely sincere, which is one of my favorite things in a character. Also, she has a charming secret romantic side. <3 Again, I think a lot of people don’t like her, and that’s a real shame.  4. Nice Robin (One Piece)     Imagine having such a rough childhood and still being a good person at heart. Of course one of my favorite things about Robin is that she’s not an overtly sweet bleeding-heart type; she’s calculating and logical, and polite, kind, and loyal. She’s goal-oriented with a very chill personality-- probably so easy to get along with, although she’d call you out on your shit too! But she wouldn’t let that ruin your friendship. Also, she has a very morbid sense of a humor, and a weakness for cute things. (Just, what she considers cute might not always be what everyone else does.) 5. Hatori Chise (Ancient Magus Bride)     A relatable depression-feels character. Everything went wrong in her childhood, and it’s obvious that her mistreatment still affects her all the time, which drives the whole story. Even though the anime is about magic and monster romance, the real story is about Chise (with Elias) learning to grow past all their traumas, and holy crap it touches me so deep. So many lessons to learn from her, watching her go from having no sense of self worth, no desire to live, to awkwardly forging friendships and helping herself through helping others. All my cries! (Also, her design just... simple and perfect (and redheaded).)  6. Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn)     Do you know I think I’d die if Aloy smiled at me once? I’d also be okay if she bossed me around a little. I mean, can you get any more wildly beautiful? Not to mention saving the world pretty much single-handedly. She doesn’t take shit from anyone, and never gives lip service. She’s harsh! But she’s also kind. She gives people what they need, not what they want. As all her would-be suitors know, that’s a very attractive quality (especially when you’re a man who’s floundering in his own misery and failure and she just swoops out of nowhere to stylishly rescue you).  7. Rosalind Lutece (Bioshock Infinite)     An absolute paragon, pioneering practically impossible science in the 1920′s. She was responsible for the floating city, for traveling between dimensions, and, well, for the whole game. So absolutely stylish and no-nonsense, but with a clear sense of humor. And then there’s Robert... Rosalind is so literally peerless that the only person she really respects is her mirror image, ‘separated by a single chromosome’. I find them very beautiful and tragic.  8. Honda Tohru (Fruits Basket)     Can you say role model? I have been charmed by Tohru since my teenage years, when my mother had just died and I felt like... how was Tohru so kind and good and optimistic when she’d just lost her mother and her house? Every setback was like an opportunity for her to better herself or help others. She always always tried to see the best in every situation, and I will always admire that~!  9. Yamato Rinko (Ore Monogatari)     A girl with some taste! When the main character Takeo saves her from being groped on a train, she immediately falls for him, as one should! Everyone else thinks he’s big and scary and off-putting, but she knows how kind and sincere he really is, and appreciates him like he deserves! She clearly tries her best to be a good person, and it’s wonderful how much she and Takeo are on the same page (even though he’s a little dense sometimes). Also, she’s a killer pastry chef! Those cakes, man.  10. reserved because I swear there was someone right on the tip of my brain and I’m gonna remember later, I know it  No tagging, but please feel free to do this yourself. I know you wanna talk about some awesome ladies!

26-30, 45-47?
Uhh… okay ^^’ just so happens that 26-30 is basically my top 5 girls, but okay…
26. Your favorite singer?
Mitake Ran all of the way~
27. Your favorite guitarist?
The bread-loving and definitely-not-lazy Aoba Moca~
28. Your favorite bassist?
Imai Lisa most likely will take the cake for this one~
29. Your favorite drummer?
Not only is she my favorite drummer, but she is also my fave Bandori girl as well: Yamabuki Saaya~
30. Your favorite keyboardist/DJ?
With all of her hard work and how much she pushes herself to keep up with her friends, it really can’t be anyone but the Tsugurificness embodied: Hazawa Tsugumi~
45. Your favorite 2 star?
Generally speaking, it is usually Tsugumi who wins out in this race as well. But even among the 2 stars of this girl there is one that always stands out to me. I mean, just look at the adorable cutie:
Tumblr media
46. Worst experience with gacha?
Remember that other anon I answered earlier who asked me to tell something good about my worst girl? I would probably say the one ten pull where both of my worst girl’s then-available 3*s dropped when I was aiming for another girl. Another time would be when I was aiming for Christmas Saaya and guess who decided to arrive in my account? Yup… both her 3*s and her 4*… like… go to someone who actually likes you, sheesh…
47. Best experience with gacha?
Remember that other anon I answered earlier who asked me whether I pulled for useful cards or good looking cards? Yeah, I pulled for New Year Rinko in the New Year/Dreamfes gacha and I got Rinko in the first ten pull. In my second ten pull I saw rainbows and I thought to myself “okay… if you are rate-up 4* please be Sayo”, and then Sayo dropped. I pulled another ten pull a few hours after that and saw rainbow lights again and I thought to myself “okay… please be either Ayaya or Eve”, and then both Ayaya and Eve dropped. Soon after that, the day rolled over and I could do a paid solo yolo, and guess which rate-up 4* decided to drop by to put a smile on my face XD? I think it was the game’s form of apology for not giving me Christmas Saaya despite using up more stars than I am willing to remember ^^’

okay MORE POSITIVE POST
I’ve been playing more Bandori and I still find the gameplay confusingly inconsistent (or maybe I just need more healers???? who knows. it’s been literally like 5 years since I started Love Live! lmao) but still fun enough.
Also came to the conclusion that though I love Hello,Happy’s aesthetic the most, I might actually like the girls from Afterglow best... which is a little Annoying because Afterglow’s aesthetic is reaaaally boring... (srry I only associate rock music with the same 40 songs my dad always played ever since I was a little kid)
So TENTATIVELY (becase I well remember how my Ensemble Stars fave list shifted pretty significantly over the first month or two) my fave girls are: Tsugumi, Kaoru, Tae, and Himari. I also quite like Chisato, Rinko, Yukina, Saaya, Maya, Kasumi and Kokoro.
Good pairings include: 1) Kaoru and Himari are like constantly flirting anyway, so what if they were... ACTUALLY dating?? 2) any combination of Himari, Tsugumi, and Tomoe, including OT3 3) ...okay yeah I’m still working on the pairing side
Sooo yep all going well!

BanG Dream Favorite List - 6
With the introduction of Morfonica and the almost completion of the third season, I figured I might as well update this list a bit. I will add Morfonica on the list for now but keep in mind that I have very little information to go on for them. I also don’t play on the Japanese server anymore, so I don’t know what kind of an impact the new girls have on the franchise in that regard. All I got are their designs, their introductions, their character profiles, and their MV.
Favorites
Tumblr media
Yamabuki Saaya (1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1)
The same old song and dance right here. While the gap between her and Moca is really small, it is still there and Saaya is still standing at the very top. For now, anyway.
Tumblr media
Aoba Moca (2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2)
And with Saaya at the number 1 spot, Moca remains on the number 2 spot. She’s definitely easier for me to depict in fanfictions than Saaya is, but... being easier to depict does not make me like you more, unfortunately. I also semi-recently found out about this (because she did a collab with Yukki (Lisa) and Meguchi (Ako)), but Moca’s seiyuu has a Youtube account now as well! Been quite amusing to watch her so far.
Tumblr media
Mitake Ran (3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3)
Despite being even easier for me to depict than Moca is, Ran remains on the bronze medal. That said, she’s definitely got a lot going for her, and she’s still growing as a vocalist more and more. All the props to her seiyuu!
Tumblr media
Hazawa Tsugumi (4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4)
And look! The Tsuguteru is still on the number 4 spot; Rinko hasn’t surpassed her just yet. I mean... is there really anything left for me to say about this adorable bundle of cute of Afterglow? She’s a selfless hard worker and she keeps her friends going; and, despite remaining relatively static over the years, in Tsugu’s case it’s a good thing. Don’t fix what ain’t broke, am I right?
Tumblr media
Imai Lisa (5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 5)
As a matter of fact, Rinko even lost her number five spot to Lisa. I am kind of being unfair here, but it’s my list so I can make my own rules... the fact that I actually like Lisa’s new seiyuu (and semi-regularly watch her Youtube channel where she is a ton of fun to watch as well) helps to indirectly raise Lisa up the ranks.
Tumblr media
Shirokane Rinko (7, 6, 6, 5, 5, 6)
What can I say? ENdori has officially changed Rinko’s voice from Akesaka Satomi-san’s to Shizaki Kanon’s. And, if it hasn’t been made obvious by now... Akesaka-san really made Rinko who she was and the shift has been really... jarring, to put it lightly. She’s still high because she’s Rinko and there are a ton of amazing Rinko cards left to appear in the EN server, but... she might drop even further at this rate...
Tumblr media
Satou “MASKING” Masuki (20, 21, 10, 9, 9, 7)
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Season 3 has a lot of problems. But the one thing they did well is truly allowing Raise a Suilen to grow; both as a collective unit as well as individuals. And nobody has grown as much as MASKING has. She’s literally transformed from the girl in the shadows who had like three lines in season 2 to the girl with the biggest impact in season 3. I mean, CHU2 is close, but she can’t reach MASKING’s level. ...get it, ‘cause CHU2′s sho-
Tumblr media
Uehara Himari (6, 7, 8, 7, 7, 8)
Himari has actually grown, which can be seen in her jumping up into the favorites, but... she can’t keep up with MASKING. That said, the new voice lines that the EN server has received as a result of the anniversary have really allowed Himari to shine some more in my opinion.
Tumblr media
Udagawa Tomoe (8, 8, 7, 8, 8, 9)
Honestly... Tomoe’s pretty much the same as Himari in this regard. She gained a bit of ground relative to those at the very top, but she just hasn’t gained enough to close that gap entirely...
Loves
Tumblr media
Asahi Rokka (12, 12, 12, 12, 11, 10)
Like MASKING before her, Rokka has grown to become pretty much the protagonist of the third season... and she’s done a lot of growing for sure!
Tumblr media
Tamade “CHU2″ Chiyu (13, 13, 16, 14, 15, 11)
Probably... a more controversial choice to push her this high up again, but... listen... Season 3 has really done her justice. It really allowed her to grow, for us to see her past and the darkness in her heart and it allowed her to, at least a little bit, try and surpass that. Pretty big things for such a shortie.
Tumblr media
Maruyama Aya (9, 9, 9, 10, 10, 12)
The first time Aya dropped from the top ten, and it’s by two spots, too. And it’s not even that something happened to make me like Aya less; it’s just that the RAS girls who have surpassed her are that much better in my opinion. Bushiroad really knew what they were doing with RAS, that’s all I am going to say. Speaking of RAS...
Tumblr media
Wakana “LAYER” Rei (25, 20, 15, 11, 13, 13)
Out of all the RAS girls, Rei is probably the one with the least amount of growth. We saw Rokka grow from her Season 2 shy and reclusive self to her more determined and confident form in Season 3. Masuki’s growth is insane. CHU2 and PAREO both had an entire episode dedicated to their past and inner demons. LAYER... doesn’t really have any of that. Sure she had little flashbacks, but nothing to the extent of the other girls... She’s still pretty high, though.
Tumblr media
Wakamiya Eve (11, 10, 11, 13, 12, 14)
A bit of a drop thanks to the RAS girls, but still nothing too extreme... I think... there’s really not that much I can say about her aside from the usual, really. That said, the Bushido is strong and Eve will remain strong.
Tumblr media
Nyubara “PAREO” Reona (14, 14, 14, 15, 16, 15)
She technically jumped to 15th spot, but she’s still at the bottom of the RAS girls... despite having an episode dedicated to her past demons... I dunno, it was definitely not badly written or executed or anything, I just didn’t get moved by it as much as I did with, say... her precious CHU2-sama...
Tumblr media
Okusawa Misaki ( 10, 11, 13, 16, 14, 16)
Back down to the lowest ranking she’s ever been to. At least she didn’t drop below that yet... but, let’s be honest... with how she’s been doing, it is only a matter of time... especially if Morfonica ends up shooting past her like RAS has.
Likes
Tumblr media
Hikawa Sayo (17, 16, 18, 18, 17, 17)
Sayo is... still very weird for me to place. She’s had a little moment in season 3 where she clashed against Yukina (being the only Roselia girl who openly clashed against her, surprisingly) which did raise her a bit... but then she apologized as if she was in the wrong, which... you guessed it, lowered her again. So I think putting her in the same spot as last time would be fair enough?
Tumblr media
Futuba Tsukushi (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 18)
The first Morfonica girl on the list, and one that might surprise some people who I have talked with about Morfonica. Again, I have very little to go with when it comes to Morfonica, but what I do have makes me feel like Tsukushi has a lot of potential. Only time will tell if this first impression was right.
Tumblr media
Ichigaya Arisa (15, 17, 17, 17, 18, 19)
Losing her 18th spot to a fellow twintail, there’s nothing that Arisa did that really made her “lose” the spot. I don’t like her less, it’s just that I can see the potential for Tsukushi.
Tumblr media
Tsurumaki Kokoro (16, 15, 19, 19, 20, 20)
And back to the 20th spot for Kokoro. Like Arisa, nothing of note happening for her to jump up again, it’s just... she kinda did.
Tumblr media
Kurata Mashiro (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 21)
The Morfonica girl people would probably think be my fave Morfonica girl so far. A lot of potential as well, especially with her seiyuu being the youngest seiyuu of the franchise by such a big margin. She’s gotten a lot of hate already from what I can tell, and to that I say: give her some time to truly grow into Morfonica’s vocalist. It took a while for Kokoro (and, by proxy, HaroHapi) to really take off as well if memory serves.
Tumblr media
Kirigaya Touko (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 22)
I am not going to lie... Touko might be the Morfonica girl I look forward to the most. From what I know, she’s got a pretty decent base going, she seems fun enough, and now all that is left is for Bushiroad to give her the justice she deserves. That every Morfonica girl deserves!
Tumblr media
Udagawa Ako (19, 18, 20, 20, 19, 23)
It’s not really fair to call this a drop for Ako (and all the girls below her), because we did get introduced to five new girls. That said, she did lose her spot from Kokoro, but that aside... Ako is all right. Watching Meguchi collab with Yukki (Lisa) on Youtube is always a very entertaining watch. Even if Meguchi does end up on the losing side more often than not when they play games together.
Tumblr media
Yashio Rui (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 24)
Rui is, not only for me but also for a lot of other people, the only Morfonica girl who people knew a little bit about her seiyuu’s background prior to appearing in BanG Dream. For those unaware: her seiyuu, Ayasa, has a Youtube channel as well where she does violin covers of a lot of amazing songs (including, at the time of writing this, three BanG Dream songs: Starmine, LOUDER, and Star Beat). That being said, it’s not fair to judge Rui based on her seiyuu, so I think this is a fair enough spot for her for the time being.
Tumblr media
Toyama Kasumi (26, 24, 23, 22, 21, 25)
Those numbers really make it look like she dropped, but she didn’t. Kasumi is as great as ever and she’s even gained a couple new songs to her name!
Tumblr media
Matsubara Kanon (23, 25, 24, 24, 23, 26)
Back up above Chisato, if only slightly. I think that Nico x Nico song of HaroHapi has really helped her out a lot. That, or seeing a more serious, self-confident Kanon (because we all know what happened to Rinko after I started seeing her in a different light).
Tumblr media
Shirasagi Chisato (22, 22, 22, 21, 22, 27)
...again, a lot of potential. But as she is probably the biggest link to my least fave of the franchise (who, surprisingly, fell even more), it drags her down as well. If it were any other franchise, Chisato’s growth would have been much much better...
Above Neutral
Tumblr media
Hiromachi Nanami (NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, 28)
I don’t really know what I can say about her. I can see the potential, I can see how Nanami can grow to jump a couple of spots... but at this point in time, I don’t really see the realistic path to reach that final destination. Not yet, anyways...
Tumblr media
Hikawa Hina (24, 23, 25, 25, 24, 29)
A lot of potential, a lot of very impressive scenes... I think she would do better if she wouldn’t hyperfocus on her older sister as much as she does. While endearing and definitely adorable to a certain degree, it does... kind of limit her growth. Not to mention that we already know how much Hina loves Sayo by now, can’t we see how Hina does with other stuff?
Tumblr media
Hanazono Tae ( 18, 19, 21, 23, 26, 30)
I said it before and I will say it again: Tae is a fun character and I love watching her seiyuu perform live and appear on livestreams. That being said, Tae really needs something to help her stand out in the crowd. BanG Dream is only getting more and more characters as time goes on, so being static is not a very good thing...
Tumblr media
Yamato Maya (27, 26, 26, 27, 27, 31)
Maya is... definitely rising if only slightly. At the rate this is going, she might even surpass Tae one day. As I said in the previous entry, I went back to try and see Maya’s growth again, and I will be the first to admit that I kind of overlooked her in the beginning. She’s a lot of fun, but will she be enough fun to make a bigger name for herself?
Neutral
Tumblr media
Ushigome Rimi (28, 28, 27, 26, 28, 32)
Rimi has definitely changed over the last month and a half or so since my last tier list, but... she’s been changing for both the better and the worse, which kind of evened out to keep her at about the same spot?
Tumblr media
Kitazawa Hagumi (29, 29, 29, 28, 29, 33)
Hagumi has a lot of problems, being in HaroHapi where she is completely overshadowed by Kokoro is one (and my biggest complaint). That being said, when you cannot jump up the rankings, there is another way for you to be saved from being at the very bottom...
Tumblr media
Minato Yukina (21, 26, 28, 29, 25, 34)
I’m not going to pretend anymore: I am disappointed in Roselia, I said that before in an answer to an anon. That being said, my disappointment in Roselia is only overshadowed by my disappointment in Yukina. Despite knowing how much Season 3 butchered Roselia’s personality, Yukina’s more than anyone, the issue is that... all my complaints, all my annoyances, and all the disappointment I have with Roselia... it can all be traced back to two words: Minato Yukina. And until Yukina manages to provide a song that truly befits the level in which she supposedly presents herself, I really can’t see her rising up the ranks anymore.

BanG Dream! Favorite List
So... people have been requesting I made this for quite some time now, and I decided that I might as well. It might be a nice thing to look back on the past three years and see how I have formed and changed my opinion on the various characters.
The main reason why I held back with it for so long, aside from wanting to avoid giving off the wrong idea with who my least fave is, is because I was playing on the JP server while conversing with people who were only playing on EN. I stopped playing JP about a year ago now (the last event I remember playing on the JP server was Babyglow, actually), so the EN server has more or less caught up to what I remembered from the JP side of the franchise; which means that there is still a decent chance that my preferences might change from this point onwards. Not to mention that the third season will air next month, too.
I want to do these regularly-ish, but with how “fixed” the rankings have been ever since RAS’ introduction I wonder how often that can be done.
Icons are taken from the bandorisorter tumblr.
Favorites
Tumblr media
1. Yamabuki Saaya Same old song and dance, she has been my favorite BanG Dream! girl since day one. She radiates an aura similar to Saten Ruiko from the Raildex franchise (who also happens to be my all-time favorite character), and this, coupled with her supportive, sacrificial, helpful nature really helped Saaya in solidifying a spot in the #1 spot. The only way I can feasibly see her drop from this spot is if she doesn’t receive any character growth and development because she has been, admittedly, rather static in this department.
Tumblr media
2. Aoba Moca A name people still think is my fave of the franchise, she might really become it soon depending on how much Saaya grows in the future. A “simple” character at face value, I really started finding out just how deep her character is when I started getting more into her design and learned more about her. She is overall a really fun character to work with and nothing says that more than the fact that she has been the centerpiece of all my multi-chapter fanfics for this fandom at the time of writing this.
Tumblr media
3. Mitake Ran Ran goes almost hand-in-hand with Moca, but where Moca had the element of surprise and curiosity to keep her high on the list, Ran felt like this mixture of two characters of a different franchise I really enjoyed, combining both their strong points into who we now know is Mitake Ran. And I am sure you all already know how much I like Ran considering the BlueFlora works I have done since April of 2017.
Tumblr media
4. Hazawa Tsugumi Tsugumi is probably the easiest character, at least among the Afterglow girls, for people outside the BanG Dream! fandom to relate to, and for good reason. She’s a hard worker, remains positive, and you know things will go south when Tsugumi isn’t being optimistic and charging forward like no tomorrow.
Tumblr media
5. Imai Lisa Lisa shares a lot of similarities with Saaya, or at least how I described Saaya. Nevertheless, there are still a handful of factors that would explain the gap between them. The first is that I saw Saaya on the screen first, so Lisa was doomed to become “similar to Saaya” as a result (the way the first season animated both girls didn’t really help). The second is the way Lisa is shipped by the general fandom that makes me feel a lot more restricted in using her freely. The final point is not Lisa’s fault, but while Nakashima Yuki has done an amazing job at taking over the role... she is not Endō Yurika.
Loves
Tumblr media
6. Uehara Himari I make fun of Himari a lot, but she is still an amazing character and a great gear in the Afterglow machine. And while I personally feel like the English translation of Himari’s catchphrase is not doing it justice, I am very much aware of how important Himari is to the chemistry of Afterglow. She is the leader of Afterglow, after all.
Tumblr media
7. Shirokane Rinko What started out as just a playful headcanon has really gotten traction and popularity amongst my readers and helped Rinko rise up to this spot, managing to even beat out the fifth member of Afterglow in the process. Although very different from the characters I usually wrote for, Rinko manages to be this breath of fresh air to allow for a different pace than what I usually work with. The only reason that is holding Rinko back is not even her own fault: Akesaka Satomi made Rinko into the character that I’ve come to know and love; she was Rinko, so losing her was and always will be a big blow to me. Shizaki Kanon is doing her best, and I respect her as a seiyuu in her own right, but... she’s never going to replace Akesaka Satomi as Rinko in my eyes.
Tumblr media
8. Udagawa Tomoe Tomoe is a weird one. On the one hand, she’s very fun, energetic, and is tunnel-visioned enough to be fairly predictable in a fun way. On the other hand, she is the most static character in her band and one of the most static of the entire franchise, so... she’s still really high up thanks to the Afterglow bias in me, but who knows for how long that can last?
Tumblr media
9. Maruyama Aya I really am unable to talk about Aya without bringing up her seiyuu, Maeshima Ami, because the phrase “the seiyuu is the character” rings very true when it comes to this one. And she is a very fun character, too! I am not really good with stumbly fumbly characters, but watching Aya on the screen has never been a bad thing. It also helps that her singing voice matches Misawa Sachika’s so much, reminding me of Misawa Sachika’s Polaris mini-album and even convincing me for a short period that Misawa Sachika was Aya’s seiyuu.
Tumblr media
10. Okusawa Misaki/Michelle I am not really breaking the mold here, having Misaki be my favorite Hello, Happy World! character, so I don’t think I need to add much to it. In a nutshell, Misaki is to Moca as Lisa is to Saaya. But instead of being put in a band I like overall, Misaki was put in what is arguably my least fave band of the franchise (mostly because the style of music does not fit me, personally, and I like the other five bands more)... which really limits how much Misaki can rise in my list.
Tumblr media
11. Wakamiya Eve I only have one thing to say about her: BUSHIDO. In all seriousness, Eve is adorable and her fascination with Japan can really act as a parallel to how some fans adore the culture. In short, much like the vocalist of her band, there is never a dull moment when Eve is around.
Tumblr media
12. Asahi Rokka Rokka is a really fun addition to the cast through the second season that aired earlier this year. And what is really interesting about her is that, while the other four RAS girls have been a hit or a miss in the fandom, Rokka seems to be almost universally liked. She is just an adorable bundle of cute, what’s more to say about her?
Likes
Tumblr media
13. Tamade “CHU2″ Chiyu So remember how I said in Rokka’s entry that RAS’ characters tend to be a hit or a miss? Well, CHU2 is, in my experience, the most polarizing of the RAS girls; people either love her or hate her. I personally really like her, because while she may appear as a brat at first there is obviously a lot more going on beneath the surface. And I enjoy watching those characters develop, so here’s to hoping that season 3 is nice to CHU2.
Tumblr media
14. Nyubara “PAREO” Reona Now unlike CHU2, I can’t really pinpoint what it is exactly about PAREO that makes me like her. But I do, she is enjoyable, her dedication to RAS and CHU2, while bordering something else entirely, is still... quite admirable to see, in its unique way.
Tumblr media
15. Ichigaya Arisa Arisa is a weird one. I enjoy watching the subtle actions she does in the background to show that she cares for and supports her friends, but at the same time... she’s competing with Himari for the title of “who can be the butt of all jokes”... which is a bit of a shame, but oh well. Another thing that is kind of holding her back is the fact that one of her defining qualities, being a tsun, is... not the most unique personality trait in the anime world, to put it lightly.
Tumblr media
16. Tsurumaki Kokoro Kokoro is... an interesting case. I think I mentioned earlier that I am not really good with eccentric characters, and Kokoro is exactly that with a capital E, but on the other hand... the few times when we do get to see through that bubble of energy we get treated to a surprisingly deep character. It also helps to share birthdays with me, I suppose.
Tumblr media
17. Hikawa Sayo Another really weird one to place, and one that will probably define the rest of the list. Sayo, by far, has received the absolute most character growth of any of the other girls. That is normally a good thing, but in Sayo’s case it kind of acts like a double-edged sword; while she grew to be a better person and a better sister, above all else, she... lost things that really defined who she was in my eyes. And because of that, I don’t quite know where to place her... I do enjoy her and still like her, but... I dunno...
Tumblr media
18. Hanazono Tae Tae has always been a fan favorite ever since she first appeared in the anime, but... she faces a problem I have mentioned before: she’s pretty static. She’s still fun and the fact that I am kind of looking forward to the way her seiyuu continues to grow will probably keep Tae up, but not too high.
Tumblr media
19. Udagawa Ako All right, so Ako being here should already tell its own story, but... generally speaking, when a character is “created” with its whole purpose being to surpass another specific character, they will never come close to that character on my list simply because I end up thinking of Ako relative to Tomoe (in Ako’s case). Ako is fun to see and her chuunibyou side makes for some cute interactions, but aside from that... with the fall of Rosela came the fall of its members...
Tumblr media
20. Satou “MASKING” Masuki At this point in time, we don’t really know that much about her. She had like... what? Five lines in the entirety of season two? From what I have seen of her so far, however... she catches my interest, but depending on how well her character and backstory are handled she can rise or fall accordingly.
Tumblr media
21. Minato Yukina So remember the whole “fall of Roselia” I mentioned? It is not really their fault, losing Endou Yurika and Akesaka Satomi was a big blow, but the effects it had on both the characters and their respective seiyuus are still... there. Yukina in particular also suffers from the whole notion that she is introduced as this super professional singer with more talent than she knows what to do with, but... in part due to the seiyuu shift of Lisa and Rinko, Roselia’s songs have taken a hit in how much I enjoy them (to emphasize this point: I haven’t really enjoyed a new Roselia original song ever since Akesaka Satomi left Roselia). The only two things keeping Yukina in this “tier” is that she is still somewhat interesting to work with and her rivalry with Ran can provide... quite the amusement.
Above Neutral
Tumblr media
22. Shirasagi Chisato Once we’re in this tier, it... really is a bit of a blur as to who is placed where relative to each other. I can say that Chisato is probably at the upper end of it by the process of tiebreakers: BanG Dream! Livestream and events involving their seiyuus. Uesaka Sumire is always fun to watch on the screen and has made me warm up to Chisato in the process.
Tumblr media
23. Matsubara Kanon Pretty much exact same reasoning as above, with Kanon being slightly lower simply because I tend to like serious characters more than those that fumble around. I will say, though, that the few times when we get to see a confident and determined Kanon on the screen, it was a lot of fun to see.
Tumblr media
24. Hikawa Hina So remember my point with Ako about characters who are focused on their relationship and interactions with one specific character? Hina serves as this unreachable goal for Sayo to reach, and with a lot of the scenes that are being shown use Sayo’s perspective to do so... Hina’s innate genius is also somewhat of a double-edged sword for her ranking here, because while scenes involving Hina are anything but dull, I... prefer characters who work hard to get where they are above someone who is “born” with the ability to stand out.
Tumblr media
25. Wakana “LAYER” Rei I feel kind of bad putting LAYER all the way down here, but as a character, she is rather... static and uninspiring, at least at this point in time. As a vocalist, however, LAYER is probably my second favorite in terms of the singing voice, so I am hoping that the third season can catapult LAYER up a couple places.
Neutral
Tumblr media
26. Toyama Kasumi The “face” of BanG Dream!, so to say. I will say that, for a typical happy-go-lucky energetic female lead, Kasumi has a lot more depth to her than others. Unfortunately, being the character we see the world through, I’ve never managed to really relate to her. So while she is almost in the next tier, she barely misses it.
Tumblr media
27. Yamato Maya Maya is, actually, a really interesting character with a lot of room to grow and become her own person. Unfortunately for Maya, she did not catch my eye early enough so by the time I got used to characters like Moca and Ran running around, Maya... kind of faded into the background.
Tumblr media
28. Ushigome Rimi I don’t know how to say this without being too mean to Rimi, but... Rimi has been really static. Rimi interactions and scenes, more often than not, either consist of her love for Choco Cornets and/or her relationship with her older sister. A lot of potential, a lot of possibilities, but none that have really been taken advantage of...
Tumblr media
29. Kitazawa Hagumi Hagumi suffers a really horrible fate, and I think that she would have been a lot higher on the list if she wasn’t in Hello, Happy World. Hagumi’s character and personality traits overlap with Kokoro’s a lot, and with Kokoro being the vocalist of the band Hagumi has really been living in her shadow... which isn’t doing her a lot of favors.
So, that’s my list. Oh, I missed somebody? Right right, let’s fix that~
Unsalvageable/Very Bottom
Tumblr media
30. Seta Kaoru Where do I begin to properly explain how I feel about this character? For starters, Bang Dream is a gacha game where we grind up resources, save for weeks, sometimes even months, for that one card we want (unless we’re spending money on the game i.e. whaling). So what do you think will happen to the character who keeps dropping in a banner she is not even a rate-up in while you really wanted a limited card you have saved eight months for? Or if she keeps arriving as the guaranteed 3* in like 80% of all your pulls for over a year? For reference, I managed to get the skill level of her Phantom Thief 3* to level 5 by using duplicate copies of her Initial 3*. And vice versa.
The gacha side of my reasonings aside, the actual reason why she is and always will be at the bottom is for a reason that cannot be removed without changing who she is. Her over-the-top, flirtatious attitude really, there is no going around this, annoys me, and even if it is just a front... I’ve already associated at least three people I know irl to her, and since I despise those three for how they behave irl... I can never see myself saying that Kaoru is not my least favorite of the franchise.
The only way for Kaoru to no longer be at the bottom is for BanG Dream! to introduce a character I despise more. Which, to be fair, is a possibility with Argonavis, but not only am I just not interested enough to properly invest time in checking them out, they are also in an alternate universe or something if I remember correctly... so comparing the girls to the boys in Argonavis is like comparing... Railgun characters to Index characters, in a way, which isn’t really “fair”. I probably will if I decide to check out Argonavis, but don’t be surprised to see this one at the bottom still.

BanG Dream Favorite List - 5
So... a lot of stuff is happening right now, and with it, I have gotten the chance to take a step back and look at my favorites once again. The next episode of the season shouldn’t air for another month or so if my maths is correct... which means I will try and close my eyes again and try to give every girl a fair shot in these rankings. Well... the 29 of them who make the list, that is.
I also mentioned before that season 3 has... for me, it’s been rather controversial as is with how much it actively tried to change the returning characters’ personality traits for the sake of RAS development. And while I will be the first to admit that I have definitely enjoyed how RAS has been written so far, it is not fair to compare the other 24 girls to how RAS got treated as the other 24 girls did get the biggest middle finger imaginable...
I mean, to be fair to RAS as well... RAS is not in the game so we don’t get the same amount of screentime in the games, either...

Yamabuki Saaya (1, 2, 2, 2, 1)
Am I still salty about the fact that you did not come home at all during Christmas? Yes, and I probably always will. But the fact of the matter is... she’s Ruiko Jr. for a very good reason, and nothing can take that away from her. Even if she is given the middle finger, that does not take away the fact that she is Ruiko Jr. That she is one of the most caring, loving, selfless characters out there.
Tumblr media
Aoba Moca (2, 1, 1, 1, 2)
And with that, Moca drops back down to number two... but the gap between her and Saaya has never been this small before. By now, we’ve all already figured out what Moca is made of and they can’t really “surprise” us anymore with revealing a (”)hidden(”) side to her, but... maybe that isn’t needed anymore; Moca is already one of the fandom’s favorite characters and she fully deserves that status.
Tumblr media
Mitake Ran (3, 3, 3, 3, 3)
I would say that Ran has been the same as always, but she really hasn’t. In her own unique way, she’s grown as well in the background and really made a name for herself.  And, while I may have turned my back on RWBY, Ran will still be carrying forth the torch from my past that has been passed on from two of my faves of that franchise; Ran really is the combination of both of their strong points and they have really done an amazing job with Ran for sure.
Tumblr media
Hazawa Tsugumi (4, 4, 4, 4, 4)
I feel like, objectively speaking, Tsugu has gotten somewhat one-note as of late. Not in a bad way, at least they focused on one of her good qualities but she still suffers slightly from it. That being said, I still feel like Tsugu is a wonderful addition to the cast, and just like how Saten Ruiko manages to give us something to hold on to in the Raildex franchise, so, too, does Tsugu in the Bandori franchise. Just a bit less so because people aren’t running around with magical scientific superpowers...
Tumblr media
Shirokane Rinko (7, 6, 6, 5, 5)
...watch out, Tsugu, at the rate Rinko is going she’ll end up surpassing you in the next entry~ all joking aside, I still... really like Rinko for a variety of reasons.  Despite the fact that we have multiple shy characters who do not do well in the spotlight, Rinko’s radiance really is in nice contrast when you consider the fact that she is in Roselia. And while it will always hurt that we’ve lost Akesaka-san in this franchise... we’ll always still have the memories of the person who made Rinko into who she is today for me.
Tumblr media
Imai Lisa (5, 5, 5, 6, 6)
Lisa really is the Saaya of Roselia, and if Saaya is Ruiko Jr. then Lisa would probably be not incorrectly described as Ruiko’s long-lost twin sister... or cousin... That said, the very fact that I got to learn about Saaya before even hearing about Lisa would ultimately forever dictate how I feel about Lisa. She is still an amazing character in her own rights, though! Losing Yurishii was a big blow to us as well, but I can at least say with confidence that I think Yukki is doing a really good job at trying to be the new Lisa. Or, more accurately phrased, that I, as a fan of the franchise, can wholeheartedly say that I enjoy Yukki!Lisa about as much as I did Yurishii!Lisa.

Uehara Himari (6, 7, 8, 7, 7)
As an Afterglow fan and stan, I think I can say with some degree of confidence that while Moca tends to be the most enjoyable to watch overall (of the band), Himari is definitely the one who sets the mood and keeps the band cheerful. Her high energy is also a great addition to the group as Ran, Moca and, to a somewhat lesser degree, Tomoe are all relatively calm in comparison (in terms of the energy they radiate). Himari definitely has her ups and downs like any good character should have, but the franchise really wouldn’t be the same without her. Can you imagine an Afterglow-less Himari?
Tumblr media
Udagawa Tomoe (8, 8, 7, 8, 8)
I’m trying not to look too much at how static this gal has been as she’s definitely the most static in her band, but... Tomoe is fun, she adds a lot to the table for her band and the franchise as a whole, but without drawing away all attention from everybody else. In a weird sort of way, the way that she hasn’t changed much is actually a pretty good standard to see how those around her have. I feel bad for Tomoe for that, but... it’s how it is. That being said, I do really enjoy how Tomoe is written and how she’s placed in the universe relative to everybody else.
Tumblr media
Satou “MASKING” Masuki (20, 21, 10, 9, 9)
Yeah, I am not changing MASKING’s position on this list, even despite the fact that I am trying to not be swayed too much by S3. There’s something about Masuki that... she has a lot of potential and they are definitely doing her justice, reminding me of many other characters who I really adore a lot. The most notable out of these is probably Digimon’s Ishida Yamato who, as some might remember, placed 7th on my list of all-time favorite fictional characters last year (who has been there for, what? Fifteen to twenty years by now XD?). They are doing Masuki really well and the way that she has been written, the way her seiyuu Natsume-san has really brought Masuki to life, and the sheer contrast of the individual parts of Masuki that come together to make and present my third favorite drummer of the franchise: Satou Masuki! She’s amazing.
Tumblr media
Maruyama Aya (9, 9, 9, 10, 10)
I feel like, despite being a vocalist, Aya is pretty underappreciated, both as the vocalist of her band and her own being. It might be bias on my end for believing that Aya was voiced by Misawa Sachika, but even aside from that... Aya’s whole character is based around someone who dreamed to be something from a young age and finally reaching her goals. There’s also never a dull moment when Aya’s around which I can also attribute to the amazing work of her seiyuu: Maeshima Ami-san. Very impressive, especially considering the fact that she could potentially be the youngest seiyuu of the franchise.
Tumblr media
Asahi “LOCK” Rokka (12, 12, 12, 12, 11)
Rokka has a lot of things going for her that makes it really hard to say anything bad about her. For starters, she’s absolutely adorable and she is a precious addition to the franchise, I don’t think anyone can deny that. She also, somehow, still has a decent and surprising amount of room for development that I feel like could really make or break the character. And while her obsession with her precious PoPiPa-san can get exhausting from time to time, I do believe they depicted Rokka in that mindset as well as they could have.
Tumblr media
Wakamiya Eve (11, 10, 11, 13, 12)
Eve sure has been going up and down the list a bit, but that just shows how fast characters can jump (*looks at Masuki*) or fall (*looks at Yukina*) over the course of a couple months. I’ve always really adored Eve, I think they took a pretty big chance with her and it paid off. I see Eve as this parallel that a lot of fans can relate to: a non-Japanese person (I know she is half-Japanese, hush) who moves into Japan and gets super excited about everything that she sees around her, not to mention her obsession with the Bushido. I also really like a very specific characterization of Eve that the EN players will never see in the game: Eve calls characters by their katakana spelling, not hiragana, which I think was a cute concept in and of itself. For example, and this is taken from the wiki because I am too lazy to switch my keyboard for this, Eve would call Tae “タエさん” (Tae-san) instead of “たえさん” (Tae-san).
Tumblr media
Wakana “LAYER” Rei (25, 20, 15, 11, 13)
I’ll say this about Rei: as a vocalist, she is getting really close to being my favorite vocalist based purely on her singing voice. As a character, however, we still technically don’t know too much about her and, unlike Masuki, Rei would be harder to guess. I think I placed her much higher than I should based on vocalist hype alone, so... I am trying to be more fair and realistic here.
Tumblr media
Okusawa Misaki (10, 11, 13, 16, 14)
I am also trying to be fairer to you, and dragging you down with the main (implied) reasoning being the band you are in is... not very fair. I still really like Misaki, I think she is an interesting enough character with a lot of potential. I do, however, still believe that being stuck in HaroHapi is fairly limiting for Misaki, because not only do HaroHapi interactions almost always rely on the sanbaka doing something idiotic and Misaki grumbling but allowing herself to be dragged along, but with Michelle being such a big part of the franchise a lot of focus gets put on Misaki as well.
Tumblr media
Tamade “CHU2″ Chiyu (13, 13, 16, 14, 15)
I look at CHU2 and... on the one hand, I see a ton of potential for her that can go very far. On the other hand, CHU2′s and PAREO’s positioning pretty much defines the rest of the list for me, for better or for worse. CHU2 got a lot of determination and motivation and she definitely will not pull any punches in her quest to try and be at the very top. At the same time, as someone who actually likes CHU2, I will also admit that her obsession with proving her superiority can get exhausting. That said... I still genuinely think that they did a pretty decent job with CHU2 with all things considered.
Tumblr media
Nyubara “PAREO” Reona (14, 14, 14, 15, 16)
PAREO is really weird for me, because on the one hand, her obsession with everything and anything CHU2 has exhausted me more than CHU2′s obsession with being on the top. On the other hand, however, PAREO is anything but a boring character; every time that she appears on the screen you just know that there’s something interesting about to happen.

Tumblr media
Hikawa Sayo (17, 16, 18, 18, 17)
Sayo has always been really weird for me; I said a lot of the time that Sayo is, by far, the girl who has grown the most in the franchise. On the other hand, her obsession with trying to make a name for herself in the shadow of her younger twin sister, while amusing to watch, also leaves a somewhat bitter aftertaste: we’ve had three Hikawa-based events already in the EN server, technically four if we count the Sweets event as one. Anyways, Sayo is definitely a really interesting character, but for someone who gains so much attention and focus on the developer’s side... I don’t know, I guess I would say I would be expecting more of an impact from her on me? It sometimes almost feels like they have developed Sayo so fast that now they don’t know where to place her...
Tumblr media
Ichigaya Arisa (15, 17, 17, 17, 18)
I think you will hear me say this a lot from now on, but Arisa’s obsession with, in a way, remaining very tsun is kind of getting to me... especially since the few times when we saw an Arisa who wasn’t focused on to be a tsun, we saw a really interesting, caring, hard-working girl who, in a somewhat twisted way, placed the need of others in front of her own. I honestly really like the side of Arisa, the one we rarely get to see, where she is supporting her friends in the background.
Tumblr media
Udagawa Ako (19, 18, 20, 20, 19)
It feels kind of weird putting the two twin-tails right next to one another on the list, but here we are. Ako always has and probably always will be a really interesting character, the contrast between her bright and bubbly self and her chuunibyou self is always really fun to watch. That said, in part due to her obsession with games and looking up to Tomoe and Yukina, I feel like Ako is sometimes relegated to the “oh wow, look at this other character I adore so much!” role.
Tumblr media
Tsurumaki Kokoro (16, 15, 19, 19, 20)
There’s never a dull moment when Kokoro is around, let’s at least give her that. She’s energetic, cheerful, desires to brighten up the world and, more importantly, it’s because of this over-emphasis on the developer’s side that the few moments Kokoro is seen when she is not as bubbly and cheerful as ever are some of the best moments in the franchise. Unfortunately, Kokoro’s obsession with doing out-of-the-ordinary things and activities... I dunno, I feel exhausted just watching her sometimes ^^’
Tumblr media
Toyama Kasumi (26, 24, 23, 22, 21)
Kasumi is a really weird one to place because while her status as protagonist and face of the franchise gives her more than enough screentime, it’s also because of this that almost constricts and restricts her. On the surface, we got a bright girl who is obsessed with searching for the sound of the stars and tries her best to have fun with her friends. Being the face of the franchise also means she has a ton of songs, for better or for worse...
Tumblr media
Shirasagi Chisato (22, 22, 22, 21, 22)
I feel like Chisato would have the potential to be a lot higher had she been in a different franchise, but being in Bandori means that she gets linked to my least fave quite often... which is a shame for Chisato, but what can we do? The way that Chisato acts like a contrast to the others in PasuPare, most notably Aya, of course, thanks to her experience and prior obsession to become a better professional is a really nice addition.
Tumblr media
Matsubara Kanon (23, 25, 24, 24, 23)
I honestly feel like Kanon has a lot of the same “problems” as Misaki does in that being in the band that she is, while serving as a decent enough contrast, in theory, is not a very good thing for Kanon in practice. Especially since the very fact that she gets dragged around by the band all the time slowing down the amount of time she can shine on her own... yes, I value how the girls interact with one another in the same band, but if the developers are obsessed with pushing Kanon in the same situation it... kind of hampers that, wouldn’t it?
Above Neutral
Tumblr media
Hikawa Hina (24, 23, 25, 25, 24)
Hina would definitely be a whole lot higher had it not been for a few issues I have... I said several times that I prefer those who work hard over those who are gifted at birth and, unfortunately for Hina... l just can’t relate to her at all or connect to her at all. Her obsession with her sister and trying to be seen as an equal by Sayo, while heartwarming on its own, has kind of... demanded attention to be put on the spotlight, as I mentioned a handful of times already. That being said, Hina is still always really fun to watch on the screen, if nothing else.
Tumblr media
Minato Yukina (21, 26, 28, 29, 25)
And here is the girl most people would probably be looking forward to seeing on this list the most. It’s no secret that the middle finger S3 has given Yukina has definitely affected how I feel about her (and I don’t think she can ever escape being my least favorite vocalist anymore) and the seiyuu shifts in Roselia definitely affected Yukina more than anyone, but... Yukina on her own still has potential. She still has the ability to try and lead her band to the top, like she always obsessed over in the past. And, hey, perhaps another Afterglow vs Roselia event (...that is not just depicted from one side’s perspective) might boost her a bit?
Tumblr media
Hanazono Tae (18, 19, 21, 23, 26)
I don’t know what to say about her, really... her obsession with bunnies is fun enough, her growth as a character and guitarist is definitely there and I can appreciate that. But, just like how I feel that Hagumi suffers from being in the same band as Kokoro, I feel like Tae suffers from being in the same band as Kasumi, albeit to a lesser degree. There’s just too much of an overlap between them that I feel like Tae has been in Kasumi’s shadow for a long while... and that really hampers her placement.
Tumblr media
Yamato Maya (27, 26, 26, 27, 27)
I mean... you’re still technically 27th, but you jumped up a bit. Primarily because I took the time to go through old event stories to try and appreciate the lower-ranked characters some more. There’s definitely a lot of fun interactions involving Maya that I will admit I missed initially, and her catchphrase (not to mention Chisato’s obsession and insistence on preventing Maya from using said catchphrase) is quite iconic. I can definitely see Maya jumping up depending on how far Tae and Yukina fall...
Neutral
Tumblr media
Ushigome Rimi (28, 28, 27, 26, 28)
I’m sorry, Rimi, I tried. Your obsession with choco cornets isn’t enough to get you up any higher. And, I know what you’re thinking, dear reader... “why is Moca your second fave if Rimi is all the way down here?”. And to that I say that Moca, to me, has a lot of other things going for her aside from her love for bread. Rimi, to me, only has her choco cornets and how much she loves her sister. She’s completely overshadowed by everyone in her band...
Tumblr media
Kitazawa Hagumi (29, 29, 29, 28, 29)
I’m sorry, Hagumi, I tried as well. As I said earlier in Tae’s entry, Hagumi being in HaroHapi is really hurting her. I understand why they put her in HaroHapi, but because of that Hagumi has been on the backseat almost all her life. There is much too much overlap between Hagumi’s personality and Kokoro’s personality. And Kokoro, being the vocalist, received most of the attention and love while Hagumi... yeah, Hagumi did not get much in exchange...
Very Bottom
You know who is here, you have read these lists already or, otherwise, you would have noticed a very specific name missing on this one. Yeah, I tried to give her a genuine honest attempt to redeem herself, I really did. But... I really can’t. She’s staying here, for now and forever...

BanG Dream Favorite List - 3
I... honestly wasn’t planning on making the third installment of this already, but... the second and third episodes of the third season have been... interesting... so here we go.
Also, because I will be referencing episodes two and three to an extent, spoilers for episodes two and three.
Favorites
Tumblr media
Aoba Moca (2, 1, 1)
Do I even need to say anything anymore about this? Actually, I can: that little segment with Moca in episode two was awesome!
Tumblr media
Yamabuki Saaya (1, 2, 2)
Yeah, she’s still the same old same old... if only her limited 4*s would come home...
Tumblr media
Mitake Ran (3, 3, 3)
The same as always.
Tumblr media
Hazawa Tsugumi (4, 4, 4)
The same as always.
Tumblr media
Imai Lisa (5, 5, 5)
Lisa is slightly rising, just slightly. It might have something to do with one of her 4*s coming home recently, but it probably has more to do with how we continuously get reminded how she is the mood maker and older sister of her group. I do have one problem with Lisa, and it should become clear what that is somewhere down the list.
Tumblr media
Shirokane Rinko (7, 6, 6)
Despite that voice shift, which does hurt a lot with how much more noticeable it is compared to the shift for Lisa... she’s as high as ever. So high, even, that she jumped up in category from Loves to Favorites. Like Lisa, however, a slight problem that should become clear somewhere down the list.
Loves
Tumblr media
Udagawa Tomoe (8, 8, 7)
So remember what I said with Moca earlier? Tomoe was right there with her and that was just pure gold.
Tumblr media
Uehara Himari (6, 7, 8)
...sorry, Hii-chan.
Tumblr media
Maruyama Aya (9, 9, 9)
Same as always for the Aya as well.
Tumblr media
Satou “MASKING” Masuki (20, 21, 10)
Now here’s a jump I honestly was expecting to see, just not of this magnitude. Episode 2 was very kind to MASKING, and episode 3 was somehow even better.  To be fair, she did not have a lot of personality back in season 2, but season 3 has been amazing to her so far.
Tumblr media
Wakamiya Eve (11, 10, 11)
Same old same old.
Tumblr media
Asahi Rokka (12, 12, 12)
Officially on the same spot, but with how season 3 has effectively been about Rokka so far, she has technically jumped a little (considering MASKING skyrocketed past her).
Tumblr media
Okusawa Misaki (10, 11, 13)
...being in the band that you are is really hurting you, huh Misaki?
Likes
Tumblr media
Nyubara “PAREO” Reona (14, 14, 14)
Some interesting little tidbits shown for PAREO. Some I like, some I dislike, but overall... she’s shaping up to be a really colorful character that I think will be a great blessing to this franchise.
Tumblr media
Wakana “LAYER” Rei (25, 20, 15)
...so with LAYER’s consistent jumps of five spots each entry, does that mean she will push into the number ten spot next time? Like PAREO, the little tidbits we saw about LAYER were rather subtle (even more so than PAREO’s), but... they were still really notable. RAS is certainly getting the best end of the stick this season.
Tumblr media
Tamade “CHU2″ Chiyu (13, 13, 16)
...can everyone guess who my second fave band is based on which band (aside from Afterglow, of course) have had all their members show up in the list so far? Officially dropping a couple spots, I... know that CHU2 is very polarizing, but I honestly can’t find myself dragging her any lower. There’s something about her that keeps her up here, and if I find out what that is I will definitely share it.
Tumblr media
Ichigaya Arisa (15, 17, 17)
Some very cute moments for Arisa this season so far, and she has technically risen by surpassing Sayo and Kokoro again.
Tumblr media
Hikawa Sayo (17, 16, 18)
While Sayo herself hasn’t had the chance to shine much, what little screentime she has gotten has... it technically has done her favors, but with MASKING and LAYER shooting up... I also have a problem with Sayo, like I do with Lisa and Rinko, that should become clearer somewhere down the list.
Tumblr media
Tsurumaki Kokoro (16, 15, 19)
She’s had like... one scene so far ^^’ as a result of that, she fell ever so slightly as her “competitors” have had the luxury to shine more than she could.
Tumblr media
Udagawa Ako (19, 18, 20)
Ako is honestly the same as she’s always been, for better or worse. Also, like Lisa, Rinko, and Sayo, I do have a problem with Ako so far that should become clearer somewhere down the list.
Tumblr media
Hanazono Tae (18, 19, 21)
Some cute moments for Tae so far, but... none that can really make up for MASKING and LAYER shooting up.
Tumblr media
Shirasagi Chisato (22, 22, 22)
She’s honestly staying on the same spot mainly because... we haven’t actually seen her yet ^^’
Above Neutral
Tumblr media
Toyama Kasumi (26, 24, 23)
Let’s just say that Only My Railgun (full version) is as amazing as ever and Kasumi deserves more love.
Tumblr media
Matsubara Kanon (23, 25, 24)
...again, even if she made an appearance it wasn’t notable enough for me to remember ^^’ so you’re staying in the same spot.
Tumblr media
Hikawa Hina (24, 23, 25)
Somehow, they managed to mellow Hina out a bit... which, I guess, fair enough... is something that Hina “needed”. But by doing so they also took out some aspects that made Hina, well... Hina.
Neutral
Tumblr media
Yamato Maya (27, 27, 26)
Hey, look, Maya is no longer #27!
Tumblr media
Ushigome Rimi (28, 28, 27)
Hey, look, Rimi is no longer #28!
Tumblr media
Minato Yukina (21, 26, 28)
...yeah, you’ve fallen from grace there... I honestly can’t explain how annoyed and frustrated I was at the end of episode two when Yukina, who had very vocally shot down, among others, Ako, Marina, PoPiPa and RAS, change her mind and effectively “made” the band adapt their super strict schedule to allow Roselia to participate in this season’s supposed big live. Without much of an on-screen explanation, either... the fact that we don’t see the other Roselia girls have that much of a reaction regarding this sudden change isn’t helping Yukina’s case. I know people can change their minds (just look at how far Yukina has fallen in my list), but... that scene really did not come over well for me.
Tumblr media
Kitazawa Hagumi (29, 29, 29)
Sorry, Hagu, you’re still on the same spot for now.
I don’t think I forgot anybody important, so that will be the third entry of this series.

BanG Dream! Favorite List - 2
I will be adapting someone else’s style and format for these lists as I thought it was a pretty neat way to do this.
It’s the start of 2020, we’re about two weeks away from the start of the third season and... I’ve already switched around some characters’ positioning on the list. And nothing would emphasize this more than...
Favorites
Tumblr media
Aoba Moca (2, 1)
Yes, it finally happened! The #1 spot in my favorite list for the franchise has finally been stolen from Saaya’s hands. Moca, the girl who people have assumed is my favorite girl of the franchise since I first made my presence known in the fandom, is finally exactly that! It’s honestly not really what Moca did, it’s what Saaya didn’t do. Now to hope that the newest BlueFlora 4* (which is... ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!) will come home at some point... at least it is a perm.
Tumblr media
Yamabuki Saaya (1, 2)
So... long story short... BanG Dream is a gacha game where we have to save up resources and hope and pray that we get the card we want. The one dream card we have been saving months for. ...yeah, Christmas Saaya will probably always haunt my nightmares. At least I still really love her as a character? And, hey... she has a chance to redeem herself in her next limited 4*?

Tumblr media
Shirokane Rinko (7, 6)
So here is a fun one... I’ve been toying around with a multi-chapter story with Rinko (wink wink hint hint) and once I get past the new writing style I need to adapt for her conversations... she’s a really fun character to work with and use. And, for those who have been keeping track, you’ll notice I have published nine fanfics (and counting) of Rinko; the only BanG Dream girl I have written more stories for is Moca, at eleven. To emphasize that point even more: I’ve only written five fics for both Ran and Tsugumi; admittedly, multi-chaptered ones, so they feel like they have gotten more, but still. So, yeah... Rinko is a ton of fun and I thank @reiriniverse in particular for giving me all the ideas and opportunities to write more Rinko-centric stuff.
Tumblr media
Uehara Himari (6, 7)
Himari only dropped because Rinko took her place, but I don’t have any other reason to put her one step lower. She’s still the same old Hii-chan as ever~.
Tumblr media
Udagawa Tomoe (8, 8)
Tomato-chin is as amazing as ever. Also, for those who might be wondering why I started calling Tomoe “Tomato-chin”: it came up in passing in a convo I had with a friend of mine of the possibility that Moca, who calls her “Tomo-chin”, sometimes jokingly introduces Tomoe as “Tomato-chin” and it has stuck ever since.

Maruyama Aya (9, 9)
While it does seem like she’s staying pretty static, Aya is actually slowly but surely starting to climb her way up the ladder thanks to the fact that she’s really shining in the new songs.
Tumblr media
Wakamiya Eve (11, 10)
Another slight jump, this time for our Bushido-loving gal. All I can say is that the new cards in JP are really doing Eve justice; they are amazing. No, I do not play JP but I do check out the new cards from time to time.

Okusawa Misaki (10, 11)
...being in Hello, Happy World is really a bad thing for her. She’s a really fun character, but with HaroHapi being, well... HaroHapi, everything starts to become slightly monotone in a way. I’m sure people who don’t like Afterglow would say the same thing about Afterglow, but that just shows how much I like the band that has the sole person in the Very Bottom tier in it.

Asahi Rokka (12, 12)
Nothing really new for RAS, for better or for worse, as they’re not in the game yet (or... I don’t think they are) except for a couple of awesome songs. Until we get S3 she’ll probably stay here unless something happens to those around her.

Tsurumaki Kokoro (16, 15)
For now... she, too, has gotten a lot of good cards (the vocalist bias on the developer’s side is real) and that Nico x Nico original song that came out is an absolute bop and easily my fave song of the band, but... we’ll see how long she can outshine the ones around her.

Hikawa Sayo (17, 16)
I still stand by my stance that her immense amount of character growth and development has almost effectively changed who Sayo is on a basic level, but... I can find things to enjoy about the new Sayo as well. Sayo is still really weird to place, though, because I have to consider both old!Sayo and new!Sayo for this. More so than for the others because of all the growth she went through...

Ichigaya Arisa (15, 17)
Like Himari, Arisa didn’t really “drop”... the two below her from the previous entry just shot past her.
Tumblr media
Udagawa Ako (19, 18)
While I am still of the opinion that Ako got affected really badly by the two Roselia seiyuu switches, I just... Sakuragawa Megu is just too much fun to drag her character down too much ^^’
Tumblr media
Hanazono Tae (18, 19)
Dropping mainly because of the problem I had with her in the previous entry: she’s rather static. Here’s to hoping S3 can be nice to our rabbit-loving gal.

Wakana “LAYER” Rei (25, 20)
Now here is an interesting entry who jumped quite a bit, and I can explain the jump with one sentence: RAS has blown my expectations out of the water. We’ve received a handful of RAS songs since they first started up, and for all the songs they have gotten in their first year-and-a-half or so (when were they first performing? I found records from May 2018 but... eh, whatever) they have... honestly not disappointed me even once. And when a band does well, the vocalist bias means a big part of the attention goes to the singer. Let’s hope S3 can piggyback off RAS’s hype and give LAYER some much-needed growth and development.

Satou “MASKING” Masuki (20, 21)
Same as Rokka, CHU2, and Pareo before her.
Tumblr media
Shirasagi Chisato (22, 22)
While she’s still 22nd, she’s jumped up from “above neutral” to the bottom of the “likes”. Like Kokoro and Eve before her, the Chisato cards have been really amazing.

Hikawa Hina (24, 23)
Hina still has the problem that she gets compared to and related to Sayo so much (for, admittedly, obvious reasons), but her cards have, too, been really good.

Toyama Kasumi (26, 24)
Five words are more than enough to explain this small but significant jump: Only My Railgun Full Version. That cover might very well be the absolute best cover of that song that I have ever heard. And with Railgun being my favorite franchise, you can imagine how many covers of its iconic OP song I have checked out already. The fact that Poppin’ Party stood on stage performing this song live alongside fripSide is just... everything a Railgun and BanG Dream! fan would want in one performance and so much more.

Matsubara Kanon (23, 25)
Poor Kanon is the subject of being dropped to a lower rank because those below her skyrocketed above her.

Minato Yukina (21, 26)
How the mighty have fallen. Roselia has really fallen from grace, and with the Roselia songs that came out recently being... okay, “UNIONS” Road is all right, but generally speaking my interest in Roselia as a band has been wavering since... RAS was introduced, really. The cover songs... ironically, they chose songs from popular and well-known franchises that had quite the following, like No Game No Life, Re:Zero, and Steins;Gate... but I never got into those franchises so I can’t appreciate them as much as a fan of those franchises can. And unlike say... like RAS’s cover songs, which are also from franchises I never got into, I... don’t particularly enjoy any of the new Roselia songs, both original and cover songs. The recent Yukina cards are also... they’re not “bad” but they don’t leave me in awe and wanting to save months of resources just for them, either... so... neutral it is.
