i hate being like “ugh all the new seasons in this kids show i like are sanitized trash for infants” because like thats really not true, especially with pokeani because my favorite saga so far happens to be the second-newest, which id also say goes as far as being the best season overall, and even if i didn’t like jn as much it still has really quality episodes and characters. but yeah i do feel like the modern anime is just a little sanitized

#mostly in how ash is written. hes not AWFUL in the newer seasons hes still very much a great character on his own #but some of that charm he had from os to ag and sooort of dp is just gone now i feel like #like him being loud and scaring thte pikachu in ep036 doesnt feel like something thatd happen in jn or xy #which. sure you can say thats character development. it pretty much is and im not saying its bad he doesnt do that #but like. idk it was a goof up he made because he was in over his head. and hes still in over his head a lot of the time #soooo idk i miss when like he'd make an impulsive decision big or small that had negative consequences #it felt kinda real somehow #echoed voice
