i hate being like “ugh all the new seasons in this kids show i like are sanitized trash for infants” because like thats really not true, especially with pokeani because my favorite saga so far happens to be the second-newest, which id also say goes as far as being the best season overall, and even if i didn’t like jn as much it still has really quality episodes and characters. but yeah i do feel like the modern anime is just a little sanitized

Please say more about the awful Asian designs in Danny Phantom. I'm not Asian but I'd love to have a rundown on the elements that make them offensive so I can avoid and critique those elements in other works. And also you deserve to speak your mind about it

im gonna mostly talk about southeast asian designs since thats what i am and the most familiar with and also what i feel are the show's worst transgression with their casual depictions. tw for racist imagery im gonna link pictures.

there's not much to say about the designs aside from, you know, everything but things to note are the unnatural yellow tone for the skin and closed slanted eyes. veggie burger (fan name for the bg character in the middle) also suffers from the huge nose that sometimes shows up in racist depictions. the straight edge/cut hair as well is somewhat stereotypical. this one isn't as bad but in conjunction with everything else its not ideal. i will give the smallest molecule of credit that at the very least dp never gave any of these bg characters buck teeth.

some depictions are better than others, but theres still missteps happening in one aspect or another. kwan's eyes in a lot of shots/episodes can be too skinny and even too slanted, the girl in the middle is almost perfect but her skin is too yellow (she looks kinda okay on my computer screen but i remember when watching dp on my tv she looked real brightly yellow), and principle ishiyama (who was weirdly forgotten about pretty early on in the show and was replaced by lancer doing most of the school stuff despite not being principle?? which is a whole other issue with how dp treats its poc characters) the same usual notes about the slanted eyes but also the upturned nose is pretty reminiscent of racist japanese art during ww2. again it is not the worst way to draw a nose but combined with everything else in this show's depiction of asian characters its not great, they are on thin ice man.

not to mention, principle ishiyama is the only character here with brown eyes. this is a problem that extends to all poc characters in dp and to my knowledge i think ishiyama might be the only one with them tbh. this is, again, a whole other issue though.

i think the thing that bothers me most about these designs though is that dp is very clearly aware that these depictions are bad. the only difference between the first set of characters and the second is one singular thing: they have a clear speaking role.

suddenly when theyre not stock background characters, dp knows how to act when drawing them. i cannot for the life of me find the image of it, but the last jock guy in the first set gets a speaking role in reign storm (he's cosplaying phantom) and he is drawn with proper open eyes! (theyre also blue but whatever) it just makes me sad that this was a clear choice they made.

the show also went in a different direction in the final product, but early development stuff was really drawing from a lot of japanese/asian influences like danny was originally gonna have a motorcycle (pulling from ghost in the shell) and was even referenced in the show via the akira motorcycle reference (which i once again, for the life of me, cannot find. danny took johnny 13's motorcycle and did the classic akira slide i think it was in million dollar ghost?? idk whichever one where the giw are trying to blow up the ghost zone). danny's name was originally gonna be jackie, named after jackie chan, this i assume was given to jack fenton afterwards. and i think the show having a more martial arts direction with the action was also gonna be a thing? that one could be wrong dont quote me on that, there was an episode where danny and vlad have like a weird ninja fight though im pretty sure.

either way my point here is that they wanted to pull from all these influences and it was prominent enough during development that they sprinkle references to it throughout the show and yet their portrayal and treatment of asian characters in the show is so abysmal it just feels Bad™, you know? i cant really put it more eloquently than that, like its very take and no give with it.

it overall just puts a bad taste in my mouth, and its sad that it still affects people years later. like i mentioned in the tags of the post that started this discussion with that whole old trend of putting yourself into the bg of dp screenshots, i felt alienated by that. and its not the people who participated's fault obviously but most of the people i saw participating were white fans (going off of how they drew themselves) and it made me a bit mad that they were able to enjoy the style of the show in a more carefree manner than i ever could. i didnt want to ruin anyone's fun obviously, but a small part of me wanted to bring to light how i wasnt on equal ground with them in that situation.

He's going after EARTH who's just vibin' trying to be accepting, even jealous of LUNAR for 1) being brought back and two) survived Eclipse and lives happily (sorta) and while begrudgingly i must say forgot bloodmoon. the trailer didnt really captivate me, but i guess its fair how much of a nothing there is considering the game will be free, so i'd expect something like batds - i did enjoy batds for what it was (maybe except for the final "reveal" about the collage which was uh. a giant nothing burger)

seems like this is leaning to the scp / found footage / analog horror territory, which ive gotta say im very sceptical about, at least personally to me they are often executed in an unsatisfying way but who knows maybe the devs who kept delivering a disappointment after a disappointment will surprise me

i do like the design of that thing that you can see clearer in the screenshots, im intriguied by the possibility of meeting a less messed up butcher gang character, and im especially excited about The House

seems like im not the only person reminded of the little barn allison painted on the wall we can see at the beginning of batim's chapter 5, i would love a tie in back to that (cuz it never really was tied back to and thats quite interesting why she'd paint something specific like that)

speaking of overdoing things, mentions of 414 are starting to get a bit tasteless, especially that the number isn't really meaningful in-universe - yes i know that's henry's assigned subject number - but 414 really started as a joke from one of the developers which was picked up by theorists. that meaning was given by fans and it doesn't seem to have any satisfying origin in-universe. yes henry has the 414 subject number *now*. what does it refer to? there's a few theories (like we used to theorise about it waaay before batdr) but there's nothing that's really clearly stated. if it's just gonna be a number that appears cuz ooooo oooh look its a number you guys like isn't this fun like jiggling car keys in front of a baby that's gonna get old Pretty Fast. but maybe they are planning to give it a meaning, i'd be looking forward to it

it seems like they're trying to alleviate responsibility for Whatever Horrors That Happened Really off of JDS shoulders (and joey's by extension) and put the blame on gent for being The freak evil corporation and im not sure how to feel about that (weeeeeell i do not like this direction the way it is looking now. i would have liked it more if it was executed differently)

Okay so. I call it the '6 years later' AU but technically i have Stuff Planned for all the time that passed between now and then too, so this'll be a bit longer, sorry!!

Max joining the counselor team was actually kind of a natural/gradual development?? Basically, since I can't make CC content that isn't found family Max has a shit home life, and, even if he hates to admit it at first, the three months of summer camp become his bright spot each year. David and Gwen catch on to that, but there isn't much they can do to help outside of camp - until one day Max (age 13/14ish) shows up on Gwen's doorstep because he ran away from home, 'since his parents won't care either way'. While he does return home after hiding out at Gwen's place for a weekend, this kind of kicks off a pattern of Max running away sporadically, to Gwen's, later David's, or his friends places. I could go into more detail here but. this is already long. oop.

ANYWAYS. So with Max spending basically all the time he can away from home and the summers at camp, once he ages out there's. A Bit of panic starting in him once summer gets closer again, because his Safe Place seems inaccessible, and two of his OTHER options, especially for longer stays away from home, would also be unavailable. Gwen and David notice this (it manifests in Max staying over More but Angrier) and try to find a solution. Gwen proposes the Jr Counselor idea. They introduce the idea to Max by kinda implying that workload around camp is a lot, and it'd really hurt to miss one of their most experienced campers, but... maybe, if he worked there too (well, interned. basically unpaid. but! no camp tuition!) he could help them? so they basically give Max a way to say yes without admitting that he's the one who needs camp the most. He does insult the whole thing ofc, and says like he's just doing it because he knows camp would burn down without him there ("actually, most of the fires we had were started by you...?" "shut it, david") but secretly he's really really happy. He might even thank them later that evening. Quietly. Before complaining about it preemptively. <3

While most of the other campers had some rotations over the years, I don't have conk rete plans for most of them - Nikki and Neil are still Max' gang, and returned for multiple summers, if not all. This year though, Neil is busy with college prep, and Nikki is spending the summer at home because of family crisis. They still video call a lot, they're still The Gang. I have sketched designs for them, but I'm not quite happy yet.

Max at first doesn't take his role seriously, because he's basically just Back For Another Summer, but pretty quickly realises Gwen and David DO have expectations, and DO give him responsibilities. He takes a while to come around on his new relationship to the younger kids, and especially one of the youngest kids takes a liking to him, a very anxious young girl, which annoys him at first, but... well. It's a whole ~character arc~ for Max waiting to happen tbh.

Sherliam and sleeping positions: a ramble

The way sherliam is, i dont think they cuddle to sleep. They dont make out and run their fingers through each other's hair before going to sleep in each other's arms and here's why:

As much as I melt over every sliver of physical affection in fics, none of their primary love language is touch or physical affection. I'm pretty sure someone had talked about their love languages, but ive been thinking about this a lot so im not sure.

Sherlock's touch is a bit on the casually rough side. A small punch to the shoulder, a ruffle of hair, a pat on the back. But following his character development in NYC, he had become a lot more gentle, both physically and emotionally. Still, I don't think he's big on touch because, well, he's sherlock.

William is somewhat more comfortable with touch. A supportive hand on shoulder, a tender brush of lips, fingers deliberately brushing against the other's while reaching for the same thing. While it does suit him more, his main love language isnt touch either. He is much more of an acts of service kind of guy, which furthers his guilt in early nyc days of letting sherly take care of everything for him.

Now, what their love language might be, which is code for what i firmly believe it is, is quality time. Throwback to Durham date, sherly turning a murder case into a game just so could spend more time with moriarty before they get off the train, the "i wanted to leave everything just to continue spending time with you" snippet from William's letter. It makes perfect sense that their love language would be quality time.

They're happy to be beside each other. They're both exceptionally intelligent, it wouldnt be out of character for them to just... absorb the love without having to touch. They can feel the love in the serene quietness of their apartment in the morning. They can feel the love in "what do you want for dinner?" "i did the dishes while you were gone." "im making coffee for us both." They know the love is there, they dont need to be all over each other to feel its presence.

As one of my favourite books of all time says, intimacy is not about sex. Its not about touches or kisses or lips on necks. Intimacy is about the truth. Intimacy is when you lower your walls and let someone in. Intimacy is when you show them the entire truth of your existence and say "do you still love me?"

And thats what they did. They know each other. From the favorite brand of coffee to the subject of their nightmares, they know each other like no one else does. And that's more intimate than any form of touch ever discovered.

So here's what i think, they dont sleep in each other's arms every night. At least, they dont intentionally. They have their own sides of the bed. They might fall asleep facing each other, but thats as much as they intend.

Now unintentionally, thats a different thing. By unintentionally I mean the nights where sleep doesnt come to one of them, and the other slides closer to play with the his hair. And nights where Liam cant sleep from nightmares and sherlock sleepily pulls him against himself, unknowingly rubbing circles on his back with his thumb. And nights when sherlock remembers sitting beside Liam's bedside, desperate to see those carmine eyes open again and so he reaches out to cover Liam's hand on the blanket with his own just like he did back in the hospital, feeling his eyes droop because he knows this time when he wakes up those eyes will be open too.

My point is, when they do touch, they make sure it means something to both of them. Which is why they would not be big on cuddling and snogging.

Also know this is my opinion and I have given reasons why I don't like and ship the ones I'm going to list, don't get mad at me cause I don't ship whatever the fuck you like

And with that let's go!

The surface

1. Lumity 9/10

Actually a really good ship, I don't know why people keep on saying it's a toxic/unhealthy ship, the only reasons they say is that they lie to each other,Amity somehow "hurts" Luz and never gives her a proper apology...? Im sorry but it's fucking stupid, there's other reasons but I don't remember them, I gave it a 9/10 because it's okay, nothing astonishing or amazing, just good wlw rep and that's all that matters

2. Huntlow 100000/10

WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHIP OMG!!!! I wish it could have gotten confirmed or more hints throughout the show (I personally think it would have been a cool idea that after kings tide Hunter and Willow started dating and it would be shown in TTT) it's just a really cute ship to me and I love everything about it >_<!!!

3. Raeda 10/10

It's a really cool ship, but I was confused on the whole is Eda bisexual or pansexual thing cause she's confirmed bisexual but Raines non binary...and now supposedly bisexual people can be attracted to non binary people??? It's just hella confusing to me, but that's a topic on it's own for a different time, I really like how they developed and definitely TTBK was and is one of my favorite episodes

4. Veesha 8/10

It's actually canon that Vee has a crush on Masha and thats all I need to know...GAHHH IT'S SUCH A CUTE SHIP!! Really cool thing how Dana is adding some much non binary characters in the show (NOT including the collector cause he's demiboy NOT non binary, there's a huge ass difference) wish there could have been some development/hints in the WAD, sadly not, but that doesn't mean it won't be confirmed!

5. Gustholomule 8/10

By far one of my ships but sadly not on the top 3,yet again, needed more hints, especially in s2a cause Gus and Matty had more screen time and interactions together,and I love how the fandom just agreed Matty was gay, and not to mention the friendship with Matty and Amity

6. Belpaw 10000/10

this is a joke ship between Belos and springtrap/William Afton from fnaf but it's absolutely fucking hilarious to me and I love it

Now, time to go under the surface, here are some ships that some people know/ship but not much people do, and the further I go we'll get to the more...problematic ships, yet again, don't get mad at me for my opinions

1. Lunter -100/10

Please block this account immediately if you ship lunter I CANNOT STAND THIS SHIP!!! Sure, they had some pretty decent chemistry and interactions with each other, but it just won't work! There's no use in shipping a character with a canon love interest/already dating someone and just choosing to ignore it and ship them anyway, PLUS FOR THOSE SHIPPERS WHO ACTUALLY GOT FUCKING MAD CAUSE IT DIDN'T BECOME CANON I'M ACTUALLY SHITTING BRICKS ON HOW FUCKING STUPID THAT WAS 💀💀💀💀 plus Willows a canon love interest to Hunter, Zeno, HUNTERS VA, literally changed his name to Hunter noceda, and no it's not wlw erasure, but if you acknowledge the fact that lumity is canon, if you acknowledge the fact Dana put her hardwork and effort trying to get a same sex couple in a kid's show which literally got it CANCELLED, and still ship it, disrespectfully shut the fuck up, lunter would be canon if FUCKING NETFLIX MADE TOH 😭😭😭

2. Huntric/Huntmira -100000/10

I. Hate. This. Ship. I put them together cause I didn't want to make seperate sections for it, now you're gonna read me rant on how much I fucking despise this ship, number one, EDRIC IS FUCKING DATING SOMEONE, no interactions (only one with Edric but none with Emira) the mfs literally degraded him in labyrinth runners, no chemistry whatsoever, its overall just not worth your time, and I'm not a toxic huntlow stan, no I won't force the ship on you, however I will block you because I don't want that shit on my feed, same goes for lunter and the other ships I'm gonna mention

3. Luz x Willow, Amity, or all of them together 5/10

Ngl, it's not that bad of a ship, actually really cute, but I couldn't see it happening in the show given that lumity is already canon, plus we should normalize healthy friendships between two girls, not everyone needs to be shipped and the toh community has a huge fucking problem with that, plus this also goes for Amity x Willow as well

4. Camila x Eda (i dunno the official ship name 😭😭😭) 5/10

It's mid, I SAID IT I SAID IT!!! *hides in bed* I'm sorry the ship is mid, raeda is canon already and they didn't have any dialogue, interactions,chemistry together only other than people want Camila to date/marry someone,and the only part when they actually meet is in WAD and that one picture of Eda showing Camila the Apple blood, other than that it's meh, eh, mid

5. Boscha x literally anyone -1000/10

Disrespectfully shut the fuck up if you ship boschlow, boschmity, or boschluz, THESE ARE EXTREMELY TOXIC SHIPS AND YOU'VE PROBABLY NEVER EVEN WATCHED WING IT LIKE WITCHES OR THE ENTIRE FIRST SEASON OF TOH, YOU MUST HAVE SEVERE BRAIN DAMAGE IF YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS OKAY, Boscha is literally their bully, IT'S NOT THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS STORY YOU WANT POOKIE, the only one that isn't as severe is boschmity, that one, unlike the other ships isn't as bad cause boscha genuinely likes Amity and if you watched FTF you'd know why, plus boscha must had have the fattest crush on Amity, but the only boscha ship good is Boschbria (Boscha x Bria)

6. Veenter 10-/10

No...why must I have come to this...NOOO!!! okay, first off, ima just put this in the most direct, black and white, simple way, it fucking sucks, no interactions that support the ship, no chemistry, like I said, I'm a raging Huntlow stan, this ship is unacceptable, plus I like found...a potential r34 comic of them BUT WE DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT HAHAH....oh fucking god...

fixation as soon as the second trailer with her reveal came? Like the little snippets that was known about the game already weaved a pretty intricate (and disproven lol) plot and personality.

Even after everything got debunked I still kept my original lore + now I live and love the idea her ideal, picturesque self is actually a front for how clutzy and forgetful she really is as a super busy champion who's passionate about her region.

bad/sad unnecessary endings or forks in the road?? I know it's silly in context like "well stories arent all happy-" BUT THIS IS POKEMON AR PEE AND I PARTIALLY CONTROL THE NARATIVE AND I WANT MY PROTAGS TO GO THROUGH IT BUT COME OUT AT THE END GETTING EVERYTHING THEY WANT. plot novellas 👀 I see a partner reply instantly to a plot thread and I jive for days on end until the next reply for real-- each one is a really juicy cliffhanger and a lot of them still haunt the back of my mind.

how do you come up with headcanons? 

most come with interactions or thoughts stemming from the game or story itself. Eventually they branch out and more ideas happen and a lot comes from looking at dash and bringing up some really interesting points!

do you write in silence or do you play music? 

Ambiance and music helps esp when silence is actually really distracting (thoughts wandering and what not-adhd be like that). The mood even influences the reply.

planned for plot driven replies but ic bouts and simple replies are winged!

YES YES YES YES, though recently I have to be a little more careful about saying Im completely open to shipping on whim. At some points the plot involves the other person too much and it gets hard to move a story along esp with the nature of the rpc and the lifespan of interest in the muse/rpc (which is natural ofc!).

I really like Zuko but i agree with so much you say about his character and the way the fandom treats it.

Like, despite Zuko being one of a favourites, i really didnt like his redemption arc. It felt, too quick? Inorganic? im not sure the word, but it felt like it was not fully expanded enough.

I feel like the issue that comes to me is that is his redemption is centered around Iroh oddly enough and ends up stripping Zuko of the opportunity of any self-reflection of who he currently is.

What i mean is, season 1 set up Zuko's Agni Kai to be around the saftey of his people and soldiers, showing that you know, he has some base level of kindness thats could be reached out and expanded again. But that part of the Agni Kai never comes up again and Zuko's relationship with the fire nation military or tactics is never addressed beyond Zhao having more resources and being a weirdo.

I get why initially, he's trying to supress that part of himself to appease his father, but the fact that entire premise of the Agni Kai never comes up again and instead focuses on the rest of it ends up minimising Zuko's journey. I mean, its incredibly important for him to know he didn't deserve to be burned, but they could have easily used that to also have him confront the fact the Fire Nations imperialism isnt helping their people would have Zuko question the war sooner.

In fact, now that im thinking about it, Zuko never interacts with Fire Nation soldiers or army in any way after the first season. He doesn't even interact with the average fire nation citizens either so we dont really know his opinion on his own people, which you know, is pretty important regarding the future leader of the country. And even more odd considering he was there for the conquest of the north pole and should have had an opinion regarding the way Zhao led their people into combat.

Zuko's journey, despite leading him to be the fire lord, doesn't allow him to interact with his own nation beyond his direct family or the prison break with sokka. Like, Zuko's betrayal against Iroh makes a shit ton of sense considering the fact he hasnt even questioned the war yet, so why would he turn against his sister and not help defeat the avatar. Like, Iroh made a ton of shit arguements at that moment considering he was content on playing tea shop and pretending the war didnt exsist (until the white lotus we learn but what was his plan?). It then focusing on Zuko realising betraying Iroh was wrong and then switch sides because he hurt his uncle? They do include a scene thats clearly referring to the war meeting that set off the Agni Kai but because they never expand on the soldier situatiation it feels flat to me.

Im sorry if im not communicating this well, but despite Zuko's arc being directly tied to the war and showing us the earth kingdom affects regarding that, it rarely shows us what Zuko thinks of his own people and their actions and fate. Hell, the Gaang interact more with the average fire nation citizen or soldier than we see with Zuko. We never see Zuko's opinion of the siege on the north pole or any of that sort. Instead we see Zuko pick Iroh over Ozai and we need to pretend that sufficient character development, Zuko picking a different adult to appease and obey.

(i also have a rant about bloodbending, specifically how they did katara and the water tribe so dirty by doing it the way the did, and the fact Aang is the only airbender we ever see in the show and they don't let him interact with anyform of decendants of the air nomads. Like, there is no way they got all the airbenders in one full swoop and air nomads dont stay in one place. But thats a whole different rant.)

Book 1 Zuko and Iroh are the best versions in my opinion! I really like your point about Zuko never interacting with any of his people beyond Book 1. I never considered that to be honest. My focus has always been on how he viewed people from other nations, but if he were to ever lead his people, then he should have shown more care to them. Or something for them. Book 1 set that up. There should have been more.

What's left is a selfish teenager, always focusing on himself. Which is a neat flaw to explore in a character, if it was actually treated as one.

Zuko's "betrayal" to Iroh doesn't even feel like a betrayal because Iroh never said anything against the Fire Nation. He says, 'It's time to choose good' except Iroh never stopped him when he attacked the Southern Water Tribe or when he captured Aang in the North. Iroh never did anything except try to get Zuko to understand what he really wanted.

Which...how would that translate to the Fire Nation is bad? If propaganda could be broken down that easily, most adults within the Fire Nation would have stopped years ago.

Also Zuko only ever wanted his father's love! And that's what his entire arc ends with! Getting real love from his uncle! So in fact, maybe it's just our fault for labeling it a redemption arc when in fact it's just a character arc.

The Water Tribes were such an afterthought. I get how they could justify not developing the Air Nomads, but there's no excuse for the Water Tribes.

If they wanted us to believe all Air Nomads were wiped out, they should have delved more into how horrible the Fire Nation was for doing that. Show families on the run, barely able to rest, and soldiers burning any town down at the slightest rumor. Show other nations turning their backs on the Air Nomads because they know the Fire Nation will kill all of them if they stay.

No don't apologize for the Stucky stuff! I only watched Endgame once in the cinema because it pissed me off so much.

And I just did it again expecting to maybe be a little more forgiving. But NO I am still pissed off mainly because of this part...

same for me! watched endgame once and it pissed me off sooo much. im not sure whether i watched it ever again but im sure that in the future i definitely wont! and y'know for me its not even about shipping them (tho i do somewhat in the sense of i love their dynamic and want to see more of it no matter whether platonic, queerplatonic (or romantic)). but in the movies it is shown that there is no one more important to steve than bucky (man didnt want to fight against him although he was brainwashed and ready to kill him) and bucky literally broke 70 years of mind control for steve (and you dont just establish such a beautiful line as 'til the end of the line' in one movie and then betray that sentiment). they literally love each other! but for some reason people cant fathom platonic love (which it is in canon) greater than romantic love so they think if given the choice steve would go back to peggy. which is the direct opposite of what the three captain america movies showed us! he moves on! he learns she had a happy life, he goes to her funeral for fs sake! he kisses her niece (also dumb ass move of the directors guess they thought it would make people stop shipping stucky or whatever, hate that they basically just included sharon for love interest reasons). and in endgame hes been in the present for about 11 years! thats double the time he knew peggy in the 40s. and he. moves. on. (sorry it annoys me that they just ignored the whole character development). also the same goes for peggy. while she still was pretty one-dimensional love interest like in the movies, the series about her finally did something with her besides being the woman captain america likes. and she also. moved. on! and then they just erased all that, booted the series out of canon and just made her a cardboard-cut love interest again! ugh. also someone please tell me how it makes sense that Steve Rogers, the man that searched 2 years for Bucky without knowing whether hed find him and who fought out a civil war (at least partially) for him, would just sit around in the 50s while knowing that bucky was being tortured by hydra right now. he just wouldnt. thats so completely out of character i wanna scream! oh god this is long. anyway once again:

Hello, welcome to what i'll turn into a series, what i'd change in this piece of media!

Today, we'll be talking about: The women(it'll be only Sakura and Hinata actually) of Naruto!

Ok. I like watching analyses videos of female characters of animes and realize HOW they aren't used to their full capability. Which brought me to the thought of: How they should've been written? How could we make this character a compelling and real part of the story?

Sakura and mostly Hinata, to me, were such missed opportunities. They had everything to be amazing.

Ok, i'll begin with Sakura, because im less passionate about her lol

Ok. Who is Sakura? What do we know of her?

Sakura is a short-tempered girl, child of civilians, is trained by one of the three Senins, is in love with Sasuke Uchiha, is one special kind of medic who can be in the front of battle, she has this inner conflict in which she doesn't want to be the weak link in her team, doesn't want to be left behind by Naruto and Sasuke. That is mostly it, i guess.

Ok. Sakura always were the annoying part of the team seven. Always crying, never getting to do something, gushing avout Sasuke and being so unprofessional to let this distract her from her duties and goals. Wait. Goals? What goals? Marry Sasuke? Agnh. The thing that annoyed me the most about Sakura is that in Naruto shippuden they kept hypping her up, how she trained and is strong and on pair with Naruto and Sasuke(im not even sure about this... Did this really had the audacity to lie to us like that??) and yet, whenever the anime had a chance to show us this statement, to say "hey, look! Sakura powerfull now! See?" nope. Sakura gets hurt or behind and the boys handle all the fun. She just heals people. (Though she can and should fight)

Sakura had many oportunities to grow and develope. Because thats just it. I wouldnt change her personality or something, just expand and give her meaningful arcs.

Ok. What i'd like to do with Sakura is turn her into a sensible and centered woman.

At the begining, id have Sakura as she is. It is ok to have this 12 naive and selfish year old. She grew up in a pretty loving and uneventful life. It is okay to have her to dismiss and mistreat Naruto and idolize Sasuke. Because she doesn't know any better.

Though, i would like to add the layer of her civilian parents to this.

Her main goal isn't to marry Sasuke (although it is her second), but to be a ninja, to fight for her village, for her parents. Having civillian parents makes her naive, she sees the duties of a ninja in a glorified view. She admires them, her senseis, the Hogakes. She wants to be just like them. She wants to be a kunoichi and she thinks all is easy. All is pretty and dignified.

That is until Zabuza. Her world view of ninjas breaks then and there.

It would occur much like the anime. She sees Naruto almost die alongside Sasuke. Being a ninja isn't noble, heroics and brave. It is terrifying, knowing you could die at anygiven mission. It frightens her. This is a thought that plagues her mind. But she shoves it deep down and studies and trains.

She knew ninjas could die and should give their lives in a mission. But there is a difference between knowing and truly realizing what that means.

She trains, until the chuning exam. There we would have our true turning point. Where she cuts her hair. And gets beaten and needs to be saved.

At first, she freezes. The thought of death just at her forefront, printed in red bolded letters, like blood.

But, as she realizes Sasuke and Naruto are down and she HAS to protect them, she comes to the realization.

"If i stand still here, they die."

But Sakura is pathetic, she isn't strong enough. She gets beat up. And as the terror downs on her that Naruto and Sasuke will die and it'll all be because she wasn't strong enough to protect them. She lies there completrly and utterly helpless. Vulnerable. Defeated. Close to dying.

She is saved and bla bla bla. But this is THE turning point to her. Not only does she want to be strong enough to stand toes on toes with Narusasu but she also wants to be capable of protecting them, to have them be able to relie on her.

So my girl trains. And kakashi fucking mentors her because oh my he is her sensei as well! Oh eme gee! What a surprise.

Also, she starts admiring Naruto and stop being awful to him. She builds a relantionship with him. And not only him.

With Sasuke as well. Do you know why Naruto and Sasuke are a more believing couple? Because they fucking interact with each other. Have meaningful interactions. They respect each other.

Sooo, i'd give Sakura and Sasuke alone time. Give them space and time to interact. Have meaningful and deep conversations. Understand and respect eachother.

He wouldn't find her annoying anymore, although he could still call her annoying playfully sometimes. And she would stop idolising him. She would realize he is a human like her. She would still admire him, but would see his flaws and come to terms that he isn't angel. Despite looking like one.

One major scene i'd like to change is the one Sakura yells for Naruto as the village is destroyed by Pain and all hope is gone.

This is only meant to anticipate Naruto's arrive, to make it badass. And it does. But at the cost of Sakura.

And it annoys me. Because ultimmatily what Sakura does while her village, her home is being destroyed is sit cry and call for Naruto. Just so he can have his epic entrance.

This scene just tells me Sakura hasnt evolved, hasnt developed. You are saying while all the people around you are helpless dying being attacked you fold and cry????? This could've been okay for a younger!Sakura, preShippuden!Sakura maybe. But now? No. It does not sit well with me.

Want to make Sakura have a badass moment while still giving Naruto his epic entrance? Simple.

I always think back to Captain america in Avengers ultimate. At the end (middle?) Of the movie, we see the heroes down. The only "standing" man is Steve Rogers. His shield broken in half. He is beaten up, limping. While Thanos' army is there, intact, thousands upon thousands. Against the "only remaing hero". There is no hope. He cant win this.

What does Steve does? He fastens his Shield to his arm and stand up, ready to face the incoming army. You know he cant defeat them, HE knows it. He's not gonna win, he's not gonna survive. But hes not gonna run either. He cant. He has to fight. To save his people or die trying.

Even if you are not a marvel fan, if you saw this scene and didn't get chills, damn. What were you watching?

Anyways. Back to Sakura. This could very well apply perfectly to her. She should've stood up to Pain. She knew she wouldn't be able to take all 6 of them down. But she would still do it. She would try to bring the most of them down with her. She had to do it. To take their attention from the village. From the civilians. Her friends. Her family.

So, as she starts the fight, it wouldn't take long for Naruto to join the fight as he appears in a smoke show and say something cheesy to Sakura. And alongside each other they would fight the pains together. They would be defeated. Hinata would confess die. Naruto loses his mind. Anime anime.

But i think it would be so fucking cool to see that scene for Sakura. And later for Naruto and Sakura. For their friendship. Like go team seven!

Also, her goal. I'd like to see miss girl Sakura being more ambicious. Having dreams of her own. That doesnt revolve around Sasuke or Naruto. Or anyone really.

I'd like for her to, post training with Tsunade, dream of building a clinic or train medical ninjas maybe both. It would be interesting thing to see. And it would add to her as a character.

VERY RAMBLING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE LOL. if youve read my fics some of this stuff will be obvious but if not, here. you can avoid my fics entirely. i change tenses a lot i think in this and im so sorry

i think that being married was genuinely like a traumatic experience for him. i think he very much did experience intense romantic attraction to his wife at first, but that it probably petered out very, very quickly and for no discernable reason (possibly just that they were incompatible in the long term, which would be obvious if not for the fact that they were still in the honeymoon phase) but he was probably a very conflict-averse person who values his ability to go with the flow, even if that flow is incredibly damaging for him to go with. its just easier to, rather than fight, escape into alcoholism and mouldering resentment. i mean, i dont say this to exuse his neligence as a husband and father, but just to explain why lol. im sure he was a terrible, terrible father in the process of all this. just also maybe that he didnt have a good time either lol. like im sure part of that feeling of being unnecessary to them was him making himself unavailable to even be neccesary.

definitely married young because he got his then-girlfriend pregnant. definitely then married her because that's the good catholic boy thing to do. (also yeah hes catholic in my mind lmao. what else is new with me. i feel like theres probably a sizeable catholic community in olathe for no reason besides i said so, because i love giving characters very catholic-y feelings lol)

i think probably, in the aftermath of this, he enjoys the freedom from his family quite a bit. like, im sure he didnt want them to die, but he probably never wanted to see them again. like the responsibility of having a family was too much for him, and he constantly failed at it, so not having that failure and pressure hanging over his head is a welcome relief, even if the method by which it happened was extremely unfortunate. i kind of imagine that loss was something more of a hollowness than a more typical sense of grief. im sure he feels very weird and bad about all of it, but thats what drinking is for! eyyyyy. probably a lot of that feeling weird and bad is worrying about the judgment of others, too.

as a result, i feel like his relationship style is probably like. none. like i imagine since his marriage was so terrible, he probably just assumes that every relationship he's in will also be terrible because he assumes he is just terrible at relationships, and does his best to actively avoid being actually romantically involved with people, to actively avoid developing feelings for people, or even like sleeping with people more than once. that said, i feel like he would fuck anyone with a pulse who gave him the go ahead lmao. he's looking for good memories (and a stiff drink ofc) more than anything! and that means trying to do as much fun stuff as he can before he dies. i do sort of feel like that its extremely possible to fall into those intense romantic feelings-- the kind he had early on with his wife-- but they, again, would probably not last a very long time, and his system of being a one-and-done lay works to insulate him from those feelings (typically)

all this stuff if meant to insulate him from pain and conflict of course. i feel like he probably lies (or "bends the truth" lol) frequently for similar reasons.

he's good at other long range accuracy sports (like darts and uhhh bowling??) but he has zero coordination when it comes to hand to hand combat.

tall? maybe not super tall, but still on the taller side, like 6ft. also one of those people whos never had to work out to maintain his physique. a lot of things like this have been very easy for him in life, which cultivated his very poor discipline habits. probably of average intelligence, but very good at bullshitting and thus got good grades in school.

he has an associates degree in communications.

he did not enjoy his job, but he did enjoy being away from his family. decent-ish salesman? it helps that he's very friendly and basically handsome. definitely drank on the clock.

has a DUI, but has driven under the influence hundreds if not thousands of times lol. he's probably smoked weed only a few times when he was younger but he didn't know what he was doing and didn't actually get high (he probably had a bit of a placebo effect where he felt what he thought people felt while high on marijuana, which was not accurate at all) he grew up in a household where drinking was very normal and began drinking as a very young teen (13 or 14?) also a casual smoker, especially likes to smoke after sex or a good meal.

he's a bit of a square, and especially was one before the flash. he definitely did things that were expected of him (i.e. getting married) because that was the normal thing to do more than because he wanted to. he had a pretty deep investment in appearing to be normal before the flash. after the flash, he's not nearly as worried, but he still has some residual mindsets that are hard to get over, which lead him to do things like, for example, consider himself to be straight lol

he obviously has a very high tolerance for alcohol and could drink any other party member under the table.

he "likes" birdie, but birdie also makes him feel extremely insecure about how terrible he was as a father and how little he cares that his family is dead. sometimes, this causes him to lash out at birdie in really stupid ways, like over-exaggerating just how little he cared about his family to upset birdie. he does regret doing this because it makes birdie cry. birdie does not really like olan because of this type of behavior, but often forgets that when he's particularly plastered, and olan is usually the only person who is willing to drink as much as he is, so they do hang out together despite both of them kind of not enjoying the experience at all.

he likes brad a lot because brad is very weird lmao. he's just curious about him and asks him a lot of questions (most of which brad does not answer of course) and wants brad to like and trust him. he also wants to make brad have fun and relax (good luck with that one bud... lmao)

I don't think he has much interest in buddy at all? he fully supports brad abandoning his quest to save her, of course, mostly because he doesnt see the point of it.

he probably gets along with nern pretty well but definitely only enjoys his rambly ass stories when he's good and drunk. they complain about their dead wives with each other. yeah he probably kind of sucks about women, not in like a malicious way per se but more in the sense that he's just an idiot man. basically. lmao. but nern really brings out the worst in him on the subject of women.

he likes terry a lot because terry is a ridiculous person and a lot of fun. ignoring the fact that i ship them, i think he just really enjoys what a silly, weird dude he is. he is probably a longtime hint enjoyer and was pleased to meet the guy who wrote them all. NOT ignoring that i ship them, i feel like olan sort of views terry as one would a manic pixie dream girl, like, terry makes his life so exciting! he's going to pull olan out of this existential mire! he's making olan feel things again! he's damaged and desperate for love! and he's such a freak in bed! idk. its not the most accurate of reads is all im saying. idk how it would work out in the longrun with them, though. i think olan would kind of maybe slide into his avoidant-resentful mode if enough time passed, but it might take longer than it did with his wife because theyre just really good at having sex with each other lol.

he's probably been to the beehive like plenty of times so queen roger knows of him and he knows of queen roger, but i doubt theyve encountered each other much outside of maybe roger kicking him out on his ass because he was too drunk or trying to sleep there like its a hotel

and uhhh i havent thought a lot about what he thinks of the other companions as much. i feel like he probably likes most of them? he probably likes most people he meets tbh.

Showfall Media Special Announcement Keynote!

I'm losing it rn there are so many ideas I have for this video, its going to be pretty much split in two (each a diffrent font so if you just want my ideas and no recap go to the italic)

Recap time this is a lot:

starts with a white screen with GEN 1 in the top left corner, then it changes to the showfall logo and a little tune like the last video posted.

Surprise! we get to see the man with the box over his face's face! he says "hello! and welcome to showfall media. for years we have provided endless entertainment for families all around this world."

the video does a TV style glitch but its in red, and over the static are the words "hello?"

the glitch stops and cuts back to box man, "we are more excited then ever to bring our influence to a new frontier, with our new live experience, we have spent months developing, researching, and connecting with this new frontier and we are thrilled with the results."

another static glitch, this time with the message "where is this signal going?"

back to the dude, "with out state of the art, brand new technology, we're giving you! The viewer at home, control of aspects of our show."

mid sentence his head starts to freak out, his face is blurry and it moves unnaturally.

then he's back to normal, "your choice will matter so be sure to make the right one or the effects could be devastating for our hero. Our hero will meet a cast of crazy characters, some of who you may recognize." on his left and right two pictures of men pop up both of their eyes and mouths are blacked out.

he keeps talking, "which are sure to keep things entertaining and unexpe-" here he get cut off.

"It already found him" background turns to a missing poster from last time. This time its much easier to see who is on the poster and its Ranboo.

"it got everyone" "everyone but me" "I have to save them" "I have to stop this"

and now back to box man, "we are so excited to be showing you this world for the first time, which is why we are not limiting it to just one show. that would be such a waste of this opportunity. be sure to join us for this three part viewing experience. starting on may 24th continuing on may 26th, and concluding with our big finally," his face does the glitty thing like earlier in the video, " on may 28th you can only find it on." and thats where he is cut off.

screen goes black for a second, then box man come back on but his face is featureless, theres static, and GEN 1 is back in the top left. then some new text pops up: "GEN 1: the social experament"

Here are my thoughts on how all of this either connects to past videos or posts and what I think this means for "Our Hero" to reuse this phrase from box man. I strongly believe that Show fall is in control of everything happening in the story, they found "them" and are looking for GL!Ranboo right now. I think that the people that were taken are now apart of the cast, or at least for the most part this is the situation. perhaps the two men in the photos above escaped from Showfall with Ran after learning about a horrible thing that Showfall did. probably relevant to this big project being announced. The two of them look kind of like sneeg and charlie to so I think that they might be involved in genloss as well , but im not 1,000 percent sure, but it would be on brand for them. final thoughts would have to be about the word choice of box man, the fact that he kept saying "this frontier" to me implying that our universe/world/timeline/any other way for showfall to not be apart of this place we are in is some where new to them. However that could be written off as frontier of this interactive video formate. i kinda like my first thoughts over this more.

bad ign reporting aside, i was also pretty upset at first since no femc and the answer! but then i saw a good point someone made about the femc case:

persona 3 reload has reportedly been in development for four years. and in that four years thats standard time to build a game from the ground up, maybe even too little – anyone who's been in game dev can tell us that. p3re doesnt reuse assets, too, it's completely from scratch. so having femc isnt simply a matter of model swap. they'd also have to program the UIs and make everything pink - sure, that could be "easy", but there's also the changed social links and team dynamics (more writing to be done), weapon system and all that (more coding)? so its like... i'd be actually surprised if they managed a femc during those 4 years. its quite a lot of work to re-adapt base p3 as is i feel and modernizing it. also i feel like atlus themselves wouldnt want to do their character and her fanbase wrong so of course they wouldnt fkn slap on a few pink menus and call it a day. they surely want to rewrite the s links and everything too in accordance to her. art takes time.

(with all that being said bullying atlus for femc is warranted actually maybe then her inevitable dlc might come faster lmao )

similarly, im fine with no "the answer" now despite being its #1 defender. theyd have to completely rework the 30:2 hour grinding to story ratio which is just not sustainable on a modern gameplay perspective. that also takes time.

its why i made this post actually. i somehow trust them, and i feel like most of us can stand to chill a little and have healthier expectations. as in not overbloated and not have the bar set in hell either (altho we should also do that too)

and i know, like anyone who's played this game, it means so much to so many people. and thats why its maybe impossible to please everyone, because its so many different things: a game that saved their life, a funny goofy lighthearted one where you catch demons, the most depressing persona game ever (altho i feel like p2 would beg to differ on that one-), or for me personally, a game that just made me cry man.

and because it means so much, everyone wants to see it be the best it can be!! and that means having hamuchan. i get that all of this riot energy is out of love for the game, really. but. yeah.

a remake seems like it's "less work to do" since the foundation's "already there" and i dont know how many people worked on p3re but like. i highly doubt theyre just sitting on their asses pissing off fans on purpose lol. (or maybe they are and im just too optimistic damn 😭)

seriously, someone give this demon a break, he was doing his best the whole time and things just kept piling up. for az too, but crowley was much more aware of his emotions throughout this whole thing, it must have been exhausting

i think az's decision made sense for him, we as fans are just used to seeing good omens heaven in way less positive light. he's going to have such a bad time really soon :( (i hope fandom is being nice to az)

this season made crowley seem right a lot more than az in response to many different issues, especially in the miniepisodes. which is a choice, and i'm not sure how i feel about it, but crowley was right!! many, many times!! and it does show that az has a lot more to learn/accept about heaven, and prepares us for his final decision. so it makes perfect sense but i wish things were different aaa

(its also that there was a lot of time between hiob & between the resurectionists & the 1941 theatre one and you could see less development in az's characyer that i could hope for. and crowley's character too - he seemed to be doing relatively well from the start. i guess it makes sense if you want to tell the stories while keeping their charavters consistent with first season, but.)

also - crowley was pinning hard this whole time, it was so angsty, i feel so bad for him

the way crowley warms up to gabriel is actually so touching

nina being the only person to recognise how weird everyone was being was so funny and so good and i am in love (platonic)

maggie is also amazing and her giving the finger(s) to the demons was an absolute delight

many mixed feelings about shax, but her banter is spot on

im not sure how confident i am about uriel's bookkeeping skills but she's delightful

the jane austen gag was perfect

the book of hiob (and the song dzieci hioba by kaczmarski) was right there at the beginning of my own experience with learning how to question/criticise the church so i am. of course not being objective about the episode. but it feels so personal. it's weird that it happened twice.
