"there is nothing that Sun Wukong, Handsome Monkey King of Water-Curtain Cave on Flower-Fruit Mountain, would not do for a scared kid under his protection"
This...has never really occurred to me I am just ded now.
This was SO good you are an amazingly talented writer
I think Wukong's love and care for his loved ones (and especially those he considers "his children" - he calls all his 47,000 monkey subjects that and considers himself their grandfather) is such an integral part of his character. :') There's nothing he wouldn't do for them. People often make his early misdeeds seem like purely selfish acts, but at least in the beginning, it was all for them. He wanted to find immortality so they could all keep living in blissful joy forever - he didn't want any of his loved ones to die. Things started going downhill once he got his invitation from heaven, but before that, his main motivating factor was his desire to protect his children.
Reborn embodies this very strongly, too - after all, he only knows Fruity for three days. Over the course of that short time, he goes from being mildly annoyed by him to caring about him so deeply that he's fully prepared to die to protect him. He also cries when he watches Tripitaka get consumed, even though this is still very early on in the Journey.
Sun Wukong always cares so very, very deeply. To me, that's the core pillar of his character. It wouldn't be Wukong if he wasn't fully prepared to take on impossible odds for the sake of his loved ones. He's the ultimate grandpa - he instantly adopts every kid in his vicinity and is fully prepared to love and protect them to the ends of the earth, haha. Most versions of him tend to be very open and transparent about their affections, too - Reborn is a bit of a special case because he's so jaded and hurt, but generally, Wukong isn't shy about letting people know that he cares.
If you want to see some really cute moments between Wukong and his little ones, you should watch the 1961 Havoc in Heaven - the other movie I used for this crossover! The way he interacts with his subjects in that one is incredibly adorable. And the animation style is lovely, especially for its time.
Anyway, I'm so glad that you enjoyed the fic! A whole month of work went into that one, so the lack of feedback I got on it was pretty discouraging at the time. But it makes me happy that people who do give it a chance end up liking it so much! <3 Thank you!

Faye!!! Congrats on your two years 🎉 I'm so so incredibly happy that we met through good old Mysme I could CRY fr. You are so special to me!!
So I was thinking for a while but didn't want the slots to go, so I'm gonna come outta nowhere and SHOCK HORROR not pick either of my two husbands, Jumin or Zen.
But how about number 30, confiding in them, with Vanderwood. The little tease we got in V's route just made me smitten at the time. He literally is thrust into the RFA drama and I can't help but feel he'd connect with MC. Like lord help us Vandy, wtf is going on.
Tumblr media
Lola! Thank you so much for your message! I'm so grateful to have met you, you mean so much to me and I wish only the best for you <3
I'm pleasantly surprised by your request! It's a good event when I can write more than one fic for Vandy.
Picture this: It's V's route, Seven has saved you from Mint Eye, now you, V Seven and Vandy are in the cabin. Your relationship with V is.... not really existent at this point so this fic could be romantic when you squint hehehe
Love ya <3

Confiding in Them
✦Vanderwood x Gn!Reader ✦ Words: 1553
Tumblr media
Time in the cabin feels like it has slowed down to a crawl. It is dark outside, and eerily silent. Inside, there are only the sounds of footsteps back and forth across the floorboards, and V’s harsh breathing in the next room. The repetitive nature of the noises has only added to the liminal feeling.
You had reassured the others that you weren’t tired, and then promptly fallen asleep on the sofa, still sitting upright with your jacket draped over your shoulders. When your eyes opened again, you weren’t sure how long you’d been asleep for, or where your dreams ended and reality began. Your life lately has been so strange, it has been hard to keep track. You had dreamt of car chases and cult initiations, the faces and voices of your loved ones so close and yet out of reach. How was that any different to what you had experienced over the last week?
Someone had covered you with a spare blanket when you were asleep, as well as lit a fire in the fireplace opposite you. It was warm, and you were still disoriented from sleep, so you stayed put, wrapping the blanket tighter around yourself and watching the fire dance over the logs.
You allow yourself, maybe for the first time, to process the fact that you managed to get away from Mint Eye and everything they had planned for you. In the (relative) silence of the cabin, with everyone else occupied, it starts to sink in. Back there, with a part of you constantly in fight or flight, it was hard to process the reality of your situation. You were just trying to survive. Now that you’re safe, it all hits at once.
The isolated compound, the flowery pink room, the wardrobe full of clothes made to your measurements. Ray, monitoring your conversations with the RFA, his kindness that teetered on the brink of desperation. The minty blue of his eyes, too vibrant to be natural. The silence in the hallways, so unsettling for a building so full of people.
“Oh, you’re awake.”
You jump and turn your head towards the speaker. You were too caught up in your own thoughts to hear him approach you.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you,” Vanderwood says. To his credit, he does actually look apologetic.
His voice is quiet, deep, and still unfamiliar to you. You have grown used to the voices of the different RFA members, have even started to find a certain comfort in hearing them. On the other hand, he is still practically a stranger to you.
You had very briefly met Vanderwood when he first got to the cabin to help Seven, but you had said little to each other since.
“It’s okay. I’m just a bit jumpy, I guess.”
“From what I’ve seen tonight and what Seven told me – which isn’t much, mind you - that’s not surprising.”
Seven has been keeping an eye on Vanderwood since he entered with a vaguely threatening air you haven’t yet seen from him, reminiscent of someone keeping their attack dog on a short leash.
“What did Seven tell you?”
He joins you on the sofa, sighing deeply before answering. He has been at V’s bedside, tending to him in his terrible state, since arriving, and he has good reason to be tired.
“He has kept most of the story from me. I know that that guy back there has been fed more different drugs than I’ve ever seen before and that you’re his…?” He leaves it open-ended and throws you a meaningful look. He’s still trying to fill the holes in his story.
“Don’t look at me, I don’t even know what we are.” Thinking about V too much makes you scared all over again, so you change the subject. “What else do you know?”
“Nothing except that you were there with them. He’s smart enough to keep RFA stuff away from agency stuff most of the time. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures, though.”
“You can say that again.”
You sound wearier than you mean to. The longer you think about everything, the more ridiculous it all sounds. You watch as a log cracks in the fireplace with a satisfying pop and feel Vanderwood turn to assess you for a moment.
“And who are you in all of this?”
“That’s a long story.”
“And I am a very good listener. Literally, it’s part of my job.”
You laugh. He doesn’t.
“Really, I feel like I haven’t talked to a single person since I arrived - Seven doesn’t count. I need a change of scenery.”
It isn’t that his voice softens, but he sounds like he’s choosing his words more intentionally this time he speaks. It makes him sound more sincere. Maybe that’s what encourages you to indulge him. Or maybe, you just need someone to help ground you now that you feel like you’ve detached from reality.
“Well, I was sort of… kidnapped and held hostage in this cult?”
His eyebrows disappearing into his fringe is the only thing that gives away his surprise. He scans you once over, a well-practiced look. He’s looking for any obvious damage.
“I’m fine, you say quickly, “Seven managed to save me before anything really bad could happen.”
He nods. “You can trust him with these things.” He thinks for a moment, before quickly adding, like a sudden thought that came into his mind “were you with the hacker?”
“Yeah.”
“You met him? What was he like?”
The questions tumble out of his mouth faster than he can stop them. Is this what he sounds like when he’s excited? You had heard him discussing the hacker with Seven earlier, asking questions with his eyes wide. Turns out it’s rare for someone to give Seven this much trouble.
“Strange. Kind of sad. I wish there was something I could do for him.”
Vanderwood’s enthusiasm vanishes.
“Then he sounds just like the rest of us.”
In the silence that follows, you both turn your attention back to the fireplace. The flames seem to have a life of their own, and your cheeks feel warm from the heat of it. Somewhere, from another room, you hear Seven’s voice. You wonder who he’s talking to, or if it's just to himself.
“So, if that guy,” Vanderwood gestures back to the bedroom where V is sleeping, “was drugged to oblivion by that cult, how did you get out okay?”
“He has a bit of a personal history with their founder. The whole RFA does, actually, but his is more… delicate, from what I understand. See, I’m the stranger in this equation.”
“Huh. I don’t know why I expected this to be simple. Nothing Seven involves himself in ever is.”
“They used to all be like a family once apparently. I’m still trying to understand it all myself.”
He puts his head on his hands for a second in a show of exhaustion. “Maaaaan…. how are you staying sane through all of this? Just hearing the gist of things is making me tired.”
You’ve been asked this question a few times, but you’ve never given the real answer any thought before. Next to V, who could barely stand upright and was talking to the air last time you were at his bedside, you were always fine. It felt wrong to even imply otherwise.
But now, when you think about where you were a week ago and how much has changed since then, you aren’t so sure. You can’t remember the last time you felt rested and, even though you’ve been reassured that you’re safe here, you’re scared someone is watching you. You can’t even think of walking down the street by yourself before you break out in goosebumps.
"Oh. I guess you hadn’t gotten that far yet, had you?”
“No… I guess not. Is it that obvious?”
He holds out a gloved hand in front of your face and taps your forehead once, lightly.
“You’re easy to read. Or maybe it’s just me.”
With only the flickering firelight on his face, his expression is hard to make out, but you find some comfort in his gesture.
“I feel like none of it is real. At least if you can see it, it means that I’m not making any of this up.”
He nods and you lapse back into a comfortable silence.
“Hey, I know it may not be much coming from me, but I think you’ve got some good people on your side at the moment.”
You’re not sure what possesses you to ask, “Is that including you?”
He seems to be stunned for a moment before he smiles. It transforms him into a brand-new person, and you can imagine what a different life might have looked like on him. Your anxiety gets pushed down by a wave of pride at managing to elicit that expression from him. You have a feeling it’s quite rare.
“Yeah, I guess it does.”
Suddenly, V groans loudly, startling the both of you. Vanderwood jumps back to his feet and quickly follows the sound to the bedroom door. Before he disappears completely, he turns to you and says, “Listen, I need to go back to playing nurse, but can we talk more a bit later?”
You smile.
“I’d like that.”

Hi!
So I recently downloaded Webtoon and of course the first thing I searched for was your adaptation of the fic, ‘A Horrific Fantasy’! I didn’t realise it was a fanfic, so I might wait until Alastor is introduced in the comic before reading as I really don’t want to be spoiled on what he’ll be like in it.
So, I started reading the webcomic and I was just in absolute awe of every single thing about it. I’ve reread it multiple times now because I just love your art style so much. The colors, the linework, the beautiful detailing on the text boxes, all the textures in the backgrounds, the composition (I especially love the start of the Prologue and how the text box drips into the present day), the amazing human designs of all the characters — IT’S ALL AMAZING!!! 🌟
I loved it so much that the first thing I did when I saw my friend today was show the comic to him, and then I did the same thing when I called my family from home today — I was just showing them all like LOOK AT HOW AMAZING THIS IS!!
Besides me being an art student who loves to fangirl about these things, I also wanted to ask if you have any art advice for people who want to make comics or just any general advice that helped you improve as an artist? No worries at all if not, though!
I also always like to ask people who their favorite artists are as I find it interesting to learn about other people’s inspirations, so if you’re happy to share about that as well I’d love to know!
I hope this ask wasn’t too long, but I’ll finish it off by saying I’m really looking forward to future chapters (no rush at all, though — I understand these things take a lottt of time and effort to make) as well as all the artwork you post here on Tumblr because it’s all incredible! Hope you have a nice weekend! :D 💖
I don't think it's worth waiting for the comic to check out the fanfic, because it will take me a long time to get to the chapter with his first appearance (and my work schedule + additional art for the soul is not helping with this, haha)
Well, considering that I'm just self-taught, I can only advise a lot of watching and practicing. This is how I learned: I didn’t have any special courses or training (although that’s obvious, I guess xD), I just found cool guys and tried to adapt some their details to my art - sometimes it worked, sometimes not, and in the end we have what we have now.
Favorite artists… Pixmilk (his Inktober art is absolute gold), Piсolo-kun (or rather his challenge 365), Thomas Fischbach and his comic "Twokinds" (love how simple and harmonious his style looks), Nicholas Kole, Glen Keane and his sketches. I also really adore the old stylized cartoons like "My Life as a Teenage Robot" and how the designs don't even try to be realistic but are still expressive.
Aaaand thanks for the feedback! ~<3 This is my first comic where I do both the storyboard and the art myself (in my previous comics I was just an artist, the layout was done by the author), and such a high rating motivates me to continue trying (◕‿◕)

Just dropping by to sing your praises!
Split was the first stsg fic I read back when I was still lurking in the jjk fandom. I binge-read Split and Start over the course of a sunny bank holiday weekend and I was totally immersed in the world you’ve built for three days straight.
You're responsible to no small degree for the vice grip that stsg has on my brain these days, and I don’t know if I should thank you or curse you for that! However, other people should *definitely* curse you, because you set the bar incredibly high for everyone else. Thank you for being my first and for making it such a good one!
All jokes aside, reading the fic in the garden on that sunny weekend is a genuinely special memory. Ever since then, I’ve been coming back for the updates, intending to leave a comment every time. As a writer myself, I know how meaningful it is to receive encouragement from readers, so I’m really sorry it's taken me so long. However, if nothing else, I hope this serves as a reminder that there are people out there who hold your writing very close to their hearts, even if you never know they exist. On behalf of everyone who is enjoying your work in silence, thank you for writing this wonderful series!
I've pre-written some comments and I'm gonna go and post them *right now* — promise! Hope you're doing well and that you have a great weekend ♥
omg it's taken me ages to respond to this and i'm so SORRY for that, love!!!!! responses to comments are also incredibly slow but pls know that i treasure every word you bless my little fics with and i'm sending you five million forehead kisses as thanks for the love <3
the fact that not only was split your first jjk fic but that you have such beautifully detailed memories of reading it??? warms my heart waters my crops clears my skin and makes me weep with joy - i started writing fic again for myself, but i'm so happy and touched to know that it's become something much bigger than that.
thank you, thank you, thank you - i'm sending all the love in my heart your way for this delight of an ask and your beautiful comments.
I hope you're having the best weekend, love! you deserve it <3

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you for the tag, @anyawen! These were so much fun!
Answers under the cut, and tagging @sweetbabyangels, @mr-iskender, @stinastar, @aprettyspy and @thestalwartheart, in case you haven't done this already and it's of interest!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 30! That number seems astonishing to me now, considering I started writing fic in earnest like a year-and-a-half ago. 😁
2. What’s your total A03 word count? 138,358
3. What fandoms do you write for? James Bond, Glass Onion/Knives Out, and I just wrote my first fic for The Old Guard fandom, which has pulled me in by the lapels and refused to let me go. And the very first fic I ever wrote was for Stardew Valley.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos? 1. A Good Man (Benoit Blanc/Phillip) 2. rain (00q) 3. open line (00q) 4. The More Loving One (00q) 5. Must Love Cats (00q)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Ok yes I definitely do and I love to *and also* I'm so sorry, I'm 288 days (yes I just checked) behind in responding to comments, because this year has been...something else. So, taking the opportunity to say that a) all of your comments are incredible bright spots for me, and b) I am working my way steadily through and enjoying your comments all over again as I re-read and respond to them.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? WELP (eyes my pile o' fics warily). If we go based off the fics with "Major Character Death" as a warning, for a certain value of angst, it's a tie between offering and and the wind at their backs. But both of these fics deal with grief, and the complicated emotions that result from the persistence of love even after the object of that love is gone, and there's some hope in that, too, I think.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? lmao most of the rest of them other than the two in number 6? 😂 this is a hard one to answer, so I'll list my RomCom-iest fics for now (Must Love Cats for 00q and in a space that they belong for The Old Guard). Special shout-out to 'tis the damn season, though, because the happiness at the end of this fic feels like some of the hardest fought, to me, and some of the tenderest I've written, I think.
8. Do you get hate on fics? No--I've gotten a few less than diplomatic comments, and a couple people making unflattering notes in bookmarks that I don't think they meant for me to see, but nothing terrible.
9. Do you write smut? ::offers you rain and for the age of the earth, and after as if I am a sommelier presenting you with some very fine wine:: "this one has notes of--" you know what I'm just going to stop there.
10. Do you write crossovers? I haven't yet!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, thank goodness (knocks on wood).
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not yet! #goals
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Use. Your. Words., which was a collaborative poem for 007 fest 2023. 😁
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? I spent about five minutes hemming and hawing about this but you know what, it's impossible to pick. 😂
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Like Anyawen, I have aspirations of finishing all the ones hanging out in my Scrivener app...someday. Probably the one I have the most doubts about is a 5 + 1 fic where Bond tries out different activities post retirement. I still love the idea and some of the vision I had for this one, but it lives almost entirely in my head, still.
16. What are your writing strengths? I think maybe I have a good ear for language, both in terms of the rhythm of sentences and paragraphs, and for conveying a character's voice or accent. But it's hard to assess your own strengths, sometimes, so that's just my best guess!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I'm actively working on trying to be better at descriptions, especially in giving details about setting or background. I realized I give these things short shrift, sometimes, and want to change that!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'll do it with languages I'm fluent in (and have done it with Spanish, since I'm a native speaker).
19. First fandom you wrote for? Stardew Valley, in What Dreams May Come.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Omg, another one that is almost impossible to answer! I think I have to go with all the flags we've hung. This is one of my least popular fics--it's a rarepair, the love depicted in it is complicated (though no less real), and it deals with light topics like, you know, structural racism in the United States. As one does. But it's a fic that's incredible close to my heart, for many reasons, and I remain so proud of this one.
Phew! If you have read all of this you deserve a cupcake. 💜
xoxo, Ani

71 with glitchless for the fic prompts? <3
I'm always down to write for glitchless! Thanks for the request. (Here's the prompt list for everyone else!)
“It’s like they’re always waiting to catch you off your guard,” Gyro mutters. He’s hardly even focusing, hands busy dismantling a glitchy piece of the cloud. “And then they mess things up.”
Gandra laughs, a nervous but pretty sound. “Something like that, yeah.”
Gyro looks up, just for a second. She’s typing something on a hologram keyboard, her bangs hanging halfway in her face, a band-aid across one cheek after their fight with Beaks. Her free hand is shaking a little, betraying her worry with so many new people, but she’s still smiling and doing her best to finish her work. He turns back to his own task before he starts blushing.
Fenton was right. She is incredible.
“When you aren’t paying attention, they watch you,” he presses something wrong, and the glitch turns the familiar blue of a computer error. He frowns. “And then things go haywire as soon as they start going well.”
“Exactly! Huey said you’d get it. That you, uh… how did he phrase it? You didn’t start out a hero either.” She sits down beside him at the workstation, reaching for his tools. “But something tells me it wasn’t FOWL you got mixed up with.”
“It was just as bad,” he admits, turning the glitched piece so she can look at it. “My old mentor tried to destroy Tokyolk.”
“Very cool of him,” she says sarcastically, squinting and tilting her head as she looks over the glitch. “I bet you weren’t getting paid near enough for that.”
He laughs. It’s been a while since he’s talked to someone he felt could actually understand him, much less joke about the things he’s dealt with. “Of course not, when do they ever?”
“Never. At least, not with Bradford.”
“I was almost glad when he turned out evil,” he flicks his hand, creating a set of hex keys, then pulls out the smallest one. “He’s a terrible boss. Always talking about budgets and turning down good projects.”
“He really is!” Gandra laughs again, leaning over the glitch with a screwdriver in one hand. This time, she sounds a little more comfortable. “You’d think after decades of master planning he’d at least be a good villain, but he’s just some tightwad in a suit.”
“That’s Bradford, alright,” Gyro laughs too. But he’s distracted now, spinning the hex key between his fingers. She hates stuck-up businessmen almost as much as he does, and she’s prickly but kind, and her hair is falling over her very blue eyes again like it’s a shield, but she’s letting him past it. He remembers Fenton telling him earlier, in a hurry, that she was a “really good person and so understanding and just like us, if you’ll give her a chance” and he gets it. He gets her.
She’s a scientist with big dreams that the world keeps burying. A hopeful heart she’s had to hide, because sometimes plans don’t work out and people aren’t kind to new ideas. He understands that all too well. It’s what he bonded with Fenton over, despite their many differences—they see each other, all of each other, like nobody else has ever been able to before. And though they’ve barely met, he knows why Fenton’s fallen in love with her, and he’s trying to keep himself from doing the same.
After all, what are the odds they both look at him the same way?
“I think that should do it,” Gandra declares, a hint of triumph pushing through the anxiety. “That might be all of them.”
“It should be,” Gyro agrees, looking around at the beautiful landscape. “You two built something really… special. I’m impressed.”
“Oh! Um, thanks. Thank you,” all of a sudden, she’s blushing. “Fenton said you’d be happy to help work out the kinks, but I was worried it would go wrong and… well, you know.”
“Yeah. I know.” He sighs, pushing away bad memories of past disasters. “That’s the hardest part of inventing things. But I’m… glad you trusted us.”
“I’m glad I trusted you too,” she looks away, her voice suddenly turning soft. “It’s… nice to know someone else understands, I guess. Nobody else has before.”
“Yeah,” Gyro looks out over the yellowed sky, the jagged clouds drifting past. He could never have invented something of this magnitude alone, but working together has brought one of Fenton’s elaborate ideas to life. And though he’s loathe to admit it, his former intern is becoming a great scientist in his own—
“Hi, Dr. Gearloose! And hi Gandra!” Fenton chirps, suddenly behind them. “M’ma had to head home, and honestly I’m kind of relieved. She can be so protective sometimes, and I know she means well, but—well, I can take care of myself. And I trust you guys! I think I managed to convince her it’ll be okay if I stay late to work on the Gizmocloud a little while longer.”
“Gizmocloud. What a stupid name,” Gyro remarks, before he can stop himself. He’s trying to be the mentor Akita could never be for himself, but sometimes Fenton’s personality and his just… clash.
“That’s what I said!” Gandra declares, reaching over to kiss Fenton’s cheek. “We’re still workshopping.”
And there, beside them both, watching the pixelated waves roll and taking in a view they’ve built together, Gyro decides he could get used to this. He could get used to being loved and part of something.

Thank you @batrachised for tagging me in a 20 questions fanfic author game!
1-How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 2, will soon be 3 :)
2-What's your total AO3 word count?
Currently 10,518.
3-What fandoms do you write for?
LM Montgomery novels and Tale of the Nine-Tailed at the moment.
4-What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
"A Dream of the Woodland," my Barney Snaith pov fic, has the most kudos simply because the Blue Castle Book Club are lovely and generous people!
5-Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do because I'm still new enough to this that every comment has me giggling and kicking my feet, and I want the commenter to feel like their time was spent well on typing out a reaction! It also feels like a mini-conversation about my favorite thing (my work hehe).
6-What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I mean, "The One who Takes" will automatically be the angstiest because it's canon compliant, basically a canon novelization, and I spent the previous 4800 words leading up to the finale shaping the characters to deliver the maximum possible pain out of an already painful situation. I have to admit I enjoy writing angst; I enjoy happy endings but until now the main feedback I've gotten on my works and pairings is that they're "sweet" and that feels like a vital misrepresentation of my core self lol.
7-What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
"A Dream of the Woodland" probably, again canon compliancy. The two drafts I have growing won't be happy to the same extent.
8-Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet 👀
9-Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I've become a very fade to black writer after several years of struggling to walk a fine line between graphic, which I guess is the point but not always, and merely allusive, which ends up kind of...unnecessarily poetic (me staring at the sex scene in Divine Rivals, which had me convinced the writer was Christian). This is me standing on my bandbox, but unless it's explicit, I find including smut incredibly awkward. And sometimes being explicit simply doesn't fit the story, and pwp is not my thing. So I've decided to start steering clear of it until I've found a way to toe that line (Starling House comes closest to achieving this for me, but it's almost not a smut scene? Like you know they're having sex but it's so barely there? OT).
10-Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not yet, but I'm still percolating elements for the Dean Priest x Barney Snaith x Walter Blythe fic. After that discussion about Dean being bisexual or at least closetedly in love with Douglas, that idea surged back into my consciousness again.
11-Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, luckily. I'm not famous enough for that to happen lol.
12-Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but that sounds like a huge honor.
13-Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, but I'm open to the idea!
14-What's your all-time favourite ship?
Oh lord what a question. It's hard because I have a few but so often I want to keep them sacrosanct from fanfiction because I have the only correct interpretation of the ship and won't accept others lol. The one exception is that "euchronology" story about Dean x Emily, but otherwise yeah I tend to avoid reading about ships that are special to me.
15-What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I mean, that LMM sad guy crossover feels a bit ambitious for my time right now, even though I have the elements in place. We'll see.
16-What are your writing strengths?
The prose. I've been doing this for so long that getting pretty words out onto the screen stops feeling like effort.
17-What are your writing weaknesses?
I think I get stuck in my prose and forget that a story needs momentum. And also a shape. Learning how to outline would be great haha.
18-Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
This is actually interesting considering I'm writing for a media created in another language that I partially know, so while writing the new dialogue in "The One who Takes," I was very conscious of not just "would he say that" but also "what would the sentence structure feel like" and "I am also aware that I am filtering this awareness of speech pattern through translation." I don't think I did very well, but it was a thought process.
19-First fandom you wrote for?
I mean, the first "real" OG writing I ever did was very very thinly veiled The Hero and the Crown fanfic (by Robin McKinley, another of my formative books), so I guess that one? Though I feel like I only entered fandom properly this year with The Blue Castle.
20-Favorite fic you've ever written?
"The One who Takes." I don't see that getting dethroned by any of my other ideas any time soon. I love my murder children, I achieved what I wanted with it, I feel like I was writing at the top of my form. It has every element I ever loved in a fic (star-crossed love, hurt/comfort, charged mentor/mentee relationship, unhappy ending) and the form satisfied me (unlinear, lyrical, close 3rd person POV, thematically circular). ANYWAY I'm gassing this one up so you can all check it out here if you haven't already :)))

DANORGE
Tumblr media
this is from the ship ask game but I decided to make this it's own post bc danorge is special okay? okay.
first of all, an ideal daniel ship for me is always him being a perfect babygirl and being treated accordingly. just like I would. he's my country wife, my baby boy, my hot piece of ass and he needs to know is. now, george is the perfect man for this.
the dynamic
I'm gonna be honest, this ship sort of snuck up on me, I didn't expect it to take off quite as much? like, I know Daniel likes the young guys, bc he likes fucking around and fucking with them bc they think he's fun and look up to him you know? he likes the peer pressure. and george didn't seem the kind of guy to be that subjectible to this bc he's always been very focused, correct, driven, etc. although as I got to know him a bit better I realised he does like some shenanigans (eurotruck with charles you will always be famous.).
anyway, I think one of the reasons why their friendship grew so well is that george is so incredibly earnest in his admiration of the people around him, and fiercely loyal. I think george would never be that guy who has to act cool around his friends. he's the type of guy to hype his friends up to others, and that's what he does with Daniel. like that post that goes sth like hyping my boyfriend up before he enters a room like you better clap for my specialest little boy. that's literally george with daniel. that's his babygirl, his country wife.
now, I think that perhaps daniel liked the way george engaged with his banter from early on, like when he asked for his merch, I mean that was still fanboy ish behaviour, but more recently, when Dan struggled, he was so so loyal and always defending Daniel to the press, I think he really did become a close friend. emotional support brit. like I said, george is really really loyal, you can see that in his other relationships with drivers (alex and lewis mainly) and it seems like he's really a safe person for daniel. I mean look how danny clings to him. adorable. (sth sth the child in me is safe with you etc). I just love seeing how genuinely at ease dan seems in every interaction with george..
important moments
I already put in some links up there but doing a collection of some more here.
all the media pen interactions are gold: x / x / x / x / x / x / x
hyping his boy up: x / x / x / x / x / (also remember the time he said to Lando 'if you're curious about winning just ask Danny' bc I still think he deserves a good * for that. lova ya georgie)
btw here's a good danorge post of some moments as well
the helmet swap....tears man, tears....
just general cuteness and shenanigans: x / x (recent addition) / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x / x
rpf pairing
okay soo actually AGES ago, me and jay @dnfstrategist used to talk about this danorge au that was like, george being a business/law student with daniel as his silly, artsy/sporty boyfriend (I don't quite remember, we definitely need to revisit that) and I am still gagging for an AU like that. like them as a couple? so so loyal to eachother, enjoying all the shenanigans, george the strong dependable one wanting to praise and spoil his bf always, daniel so fond and happy and at ease with george...bragging about his smart successful husband...they are marriage for life material fr
they have SO much potential it makes me sad that there is so little danorge writers out there.... there's mainly a few little smutty fics (which is great ofc!) and then one longfic which....oh boy I tell you, def a big big rec for this but be careful it absolutely destroyed me but such amazing writing fr fr.
and I think that's all for now! if I think of more stuff I'll add it later but I think this is it...if u made it all the way here thank u for ur attention! and anon I hope this makes up for the wait <3

for the ask game: headcanons for nico di angelo? (if you haven’t read the books, then ricky bowen 🤠)
Sorry this took me so long... I have indeed read the books, so I'll tackle both! Nico Di Angelo:
Sexuality - Gay
A ship - I actually do like Solangelo a fair bit, they're not my faves per se, but I don't have glaring issues with them (especially compared with say, Caleo).
However for the sake of fun, I also love Jasico (I hope I have that name right). Minor aside that I'm about 90% sure Jason is (he's fine, TBM didn't happen I promise) a closeted gay man based on a number of hints dropped in TBM, plus vibes plus he just screams internalized heteronormativity. So I really wish we could've explored more of Nico and Jason's dynamic. Plus they'd be incredibly adorable about one-upping each other's displays of "touch him and die" imo.
A BROTP - Percico, I totally get why shipping them romantically is a thing, but I also adore the dynamic idea that Nico completely got over Percy and Percy's a little salty about it, plus the level of trust they eventually displayed regardless of the definition of their relationship is very special to me. (End of MoA always gets me right in the feels).
A NOTP - I don't have any specific ones...so I guess I'll just say any ship that tries to get him involved romantically with a woman.
A random headcanon - Though he mostly put Mythomagic behind him, he has since become a massive D&D nerd, with multiple fully fleshed out characters and a couple campaign ideas that he badgers people to play with him. (Also the main cast of HoO playing D&D is a podcast I wish was real, Critical Role style...)
General Opinion - I love Nico, top 3 Percy Jackson Universe characters (I think, I haven't gone through and put together an exact ranking ever since I love almost all of them), not super happy when the writing leans too far into the 'edgy' side of him, but his dry wit is always a pleasure, and he's also capable of backing up the edge with badassery.
His original artwork will always give me nightmares though.
Richard 'Ricky' Bowen:
Sexuality - Bisexual
Gender - Cis Male, though he did experiment with they/them pronouns to see if they felt better to him. They didn't, but he's glad he tried.
A ship - Caswen. Obviously. I think my canon rewrite of half the show serves as adequate explanation of my love for them.
A BROTP - Redky. The friendship/brotherhood between Big Red and Ricky was something I really enjoyed in the first two seasons, it felt quite accurate to my high school experiences and I also find their interactions in fanfiction very endearing. Plus it provides more fuel to my fire that Caswen are NOT brotherly since we have a perfect brotherly relationship for Ricky right there and it looks nothing like his relationship to EJ imo.
Plus I'm still extra irritated that in addition to the rampant biphobia in how Big Red's storyline was handled, they also tried to shove him out of the picture and replace him with Jet in S4, with a scene in E3 especially feeling like the dialogue was written for BR and then they had Jet read it for...no discernable reason.
A NOTP - ...Rina /s.
In all seriousness the only answer I can readily come up with is Rily, because wtf was that subplot even supposed to be, but I struggle to think of NOTPs for Ricky since my brain is mostly Caswen or bust. I thought of the EJ alternatives purely because Tim is so militant about Rina, but I really don't know what Ricky would do outside of preferably Caswen or Tim's beloved 'canon' Rina. And while I do think Rini work better as friends, I also wouldn't call them a NOTP since I feel kind of bad for some Rini shippers (not the creepy ones, the normies for lack of a better term).
Idk, I guess I'll just say Rily and move on.
A random headcanon - Ricky loves the Spice Girls. Where did this HC come from you ask? I have no idea. But I feel like it fits.
The urge to write a mini-fic of Ricky and EJ dancing at their wedding to 'Spice up Your Life' is rising. (Totally not influenced by Doctor Who)
General Opinion - I love Ricky. Not quite as much as Elton, but that's a pretty high bar to clear since Elton rose to my top ten of all time list pretty easily. I have mixed feelings about S3 and S4 Ricky since I felt like they made him overly obsessed with Gina and lost a lot of the charm of his earlier plotlines centering on familial trauma and figuring out his own desires in life, but he's still high ranking for HSMTMTS characters, and I obviously love Caswen to death, so it's hard for me to say I don't also adore Ricky as a special little guy.
That spiraled into a bit of a ramble. Point is that I do really like Ricky, I just wish the writing for him later in the show was less...self-parodic...if that makes any sense.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
@bbcphile and @difeisheng thanks for the tag! :)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
20
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
309,516. Which is actually insane, I'm not sure how or when I did all that
What fandoms do you write for?
Used to write for The Witcher, Supernatural and BBC Merlin, but not anymore. Currently writing for The Untamed and Mysterious Lotus Casebook (mostly the latter). There's one Love Between Fairy and Devil ficlet in there somewhere. I can't see myself making the space for anything else soon :')
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
One Ignorant Bard and His Witcher - The Witcher, geraskier (3.1k)
The Sins of the Father - BBC Merlin, canon divergent fix-it (11.5k)
You Can't Escape The Thoughts on a Rainy Day - The Untamed post-canon sangcheng (57.5k)
Foolish - modern au sangcheng (29.1k)
Are You Listening? - post-canon yunmeng shuangjie reconciliation (5.8k). It's part of the series that #3 on this list spawned!
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I used to respond to every single one, but nowadays it's just once in a while when I can. I read every single one multiple times like a lovesick fool tho <3
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I have a terribly hard time writing fics that end angsty, the best I can do most times is bittersweet. That being said...
It will never be the same (1.5k) - Jiang Cheng returning to the Jiang Ancestral Hall after Guanyin Temple and speaking to his dead family. The night after Guanyin Temple, Jiang Cheng finds himself standing in the Jiang Ancestral Hall. Some things, long realised but unspoken, finally get said.
Found (34.5k) - Lan Wangji's angsty boy winter, set mid-canon during the 16 years wwx is dead and brimming with OCs. I really wanted to wallow in what made him the man he is during those years. Naturally I sent him off to a village beyond the Jianghu and gave him a boyfriend. It's incredibly angst filled and the ending is hopeful, but still sad by my standards.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'm a hopeless sap! Too many of them are happy endings!! Given my current MLC brainrot, I'll have to say it's the three post-canon liansanjiao fics I've written with them being soft together and at peace <3
I have a special soft spot for Foolish though, because Jiang Cheng deserves a happy ending story ;-;
Do you get hate on fics?
I'm not popular enough for hate hehe
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
YES!! It took a lot of work but now I do! Sometimes very explicit, sometimes not. It's mostly chaotic and soft and at times emotional. Laughter and banter during sex is cocaine to me and it shows.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Sadly, no
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Have gotten a couple of requests to translations into Russian and French, but none of them ever went through as far as I know
What's your all-time favorite ship?
You can't do this to me I refuse to pick ;-;
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Oh, there are too many, but the one I'm most invested in rn is a postcanon MLC fic where difang manage to save Li Lianhua's life and very many Feelings are had.
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue is what I've been told. Specifically, I think I do a good job of finding each character's voice. This is something I've been consciously working on and I think it's been paying off, especially the last year or so!
What are your writing weaknesses?
Plot!! I cry every time I need to plot anything. That's why most of my fics are mostly just Vibes
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Ohhh I'd love to do that though I haven't yet. I think it would mean fewer people would read it, but that has never stopped me from writing a thing >:)
First fandom you wrote for?
The first I posted was a Witcher fic, but the one I started writing first was BBC Merlin. It still has a chokehold on my psyche
Favorite fic you've written?
AAAA once again i refuse to choose ;-;
Tagging @istgidek1234 @redemption-revenge @angryteapott @wuxia-vanlifer @omgpurplefattie (no pressure)
If you're a fic writer, feel free to give it a go even if you're not tagged!!

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Thank you @gracelesslady23 for tagging me! <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Only 8 (one is still waiting to be revealed in the prongsfoot fest!)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
121,775 words
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter, and then mostly barely known fandoms haha (I have a soft spot for rareships), I'm thinking about writing for svss or mdzs too though
4. Top 5 fics by kudos
I don't wanna listen anymore - prongsfoot, multi-chapter, misunderstandings
Ad Infinitum - cyberpunk game, one-shot
Rising over dying flames - bnha gen fic, percy jackson au, two shot
Kintsugi - prongsfoot, multi-chapter
Marauder's Guide to Saving the Wizarding World - prongsfoot longfic, current wip, Marauders fight Voldemort AU, Triwizard Tournament arc, overload of pining, Marauder banter
5. Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely! I really treasure nice comments and re-read them often. They are very special to me. I try to always reply, even when the comment is only a word, but sometimes responding takes me some time
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do angty endings haha. I'm a very happy ending oriented person, I like my angst only before the very end. So angstiest? Probably nothing
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them! But so far probably the unrevealed prongsfoot festa fic
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I got some slightly weird comments but so far (thankfully) not any outright hate. I'm very lucky that people in the prongsfoot fandom are so incredibly nice
9. Do you write smut?
Ah, not really. I do like to read spicy fics sometimes but it depends
10. Do you write cross-overs?
It depends on the definition, I like to put characters into different universes, but the original characters of that work don't exist when I do. So it's more of an Alternate universe!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hopefully not? I'm afraid to know, but I don't think my fics are popular enough to be stolen haha. (Whoever steals fics should be deeply ashamed though!)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Once so far, to russian
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't, I imagine it's really difficult, but it could be a lot of fun as well
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Prongsfoot!
I fell in love with them a long time ago and I really love writing or reading about them. The characters feel so comforting to me and I love the intensity and devotion they have for each other.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
I currently have only one real WIP published, the Marauder's Guide. For me its really easy for self-doubt to set in when writing long fics so it becomes harder and harder to push myself to write next chapter after not picking it up for a while. But I really want to finish it. I think it will take a long time but I will do it! Hopefully?
So I suppose the answer is my wip for the Sirius Black fest. I have this great idea in my head, but when I try to put it to page it sounds so bad it makes me lose motivation. We will see if I can push through haha (It's prongsfoot by the way because of course it is).
16. What are your writing strenghts?
I saw banter mentioned a lot in comments so probably that! I really like writing dialogues between the Marauders and especially James and Sirius. I also really like adding in tiny character or worldbuilding details
17. What are you writing weaknesses?
Description definitely. Pacing too, especially in the first drafts. Actions during dialogues maybe? I sometimes struggle to describe who is doing what to show exactly what I have in my head. The biggest problem is definitely endings though. I always rush them :(
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
Overall I don't add another language to my fics. I never know how much to translate, how much time spend with it and so on, so I use it very very little.
Technically though, English is my second language, so I'm always writing in a different language haha.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter! I think it was Prongsfoot as well
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
I think I tend to like my newer works because the older ones make me embarrassed by their writing haha. So probably Marauder's Guide! It's an idea very dear to my heart, even if it's not perfect in the slightest
Tagging @plecotusauritus @padfootastic @roalinda (no pressure!)

just read you fernando/stevie fic, i do not think my life will ever be the same. the way you write is so well paced, it feels like every individual thing is a whole story in itself and i absolutely love it. thank you so much for sharing your work, it’s fantastic. i’m 100% going to read all your fics now, and please take your time everyone who truly loves your work (including me) will be around & loving it whether you update once a day or once a year :)
Okay I literally spent the whole day thinking about how to answer to this message. Now it's 5PM here and... I still don't know how to thank you for these beautiful words. T_T I am so happy to know that you like this story, it has a huge meaning to me for many different reasons. Fernando has a special place in my "sports pantheon" since the start, and I'm incredibly grateful when I find people still willing to discuss him and Stevie, even after all these years, even though things didn't turn as good as they could have been. <3

Hi! 💔Didn't want to jump on this straight away when you were catching up and I was still trying to work out what I think as well but after everything I'm wondering how you think it was handled now we know what's happened. Personally I'm sad and gutted over Gabriel as I knew I'd be but I'm extra gutted over the wedding because it was over in a blink. It was hyped as a wedding episode but it didn't feel like one, it was about Carlos grieving and struggling with a wedding at the very end. This was what I worried would happen after the hype and I don't just mean the recent hype I mean the hype ever since the proposal. Rafa's acting was amazing but it's the only thing that was amazing. I don't want to take away from the cast and the good things but this is where I am. Thanks for being with me when I was rightly worrying about Gabriel 💔
Hello! Ohh your broken heart! 🥺Thank you for coming back - I was keeping an eye out for you! I'm still a little caught in the weeds myself, but here goes. "Rafa's acting was amazing but it's the only thing that was amazing." On a technical level, I agree with this, but on a cultural level the Tarlos wedding itself is the most amazing thing. It's super important and it stands on its own, and I am happy that it was hyped up and brought to the forefront of people's minds in the build-up.
However.... I'm going to put the rest under the cut so again it's easy for people to shimmy past this if they want to:
The however is: I've seen people question why a same-sex wedding had to be 'earned' rather than given - and I really feel this. Lone Star had the power to give Tarlos a happy wedding as their focus, and keep the drama around other characters. I think it's a shame they didn't. If Gabriel had to die, I wish they'd decided to do the storyline early in season 5 and stretched an arc for Carlos out, rather than stuffing the arc into two episodes. It was done for the sake of making the audience think 'oh they might not get married' - even though nobody thought that, because we knew they still would. We have ourselves a situation where they cut what I'm sure is 30 mins of pure gold wedding footage. Without a rushed grief arc, 4x18 would have felt like a wedding episode instead of another kind of episode with a wedding in it, as you point out.
"This was what I worried would happen after the hype and I don't just mean the recent hype I mean the hype ever since the proposal." I think this is a very valid point. The proposal itself was so wonderful. It instantly created a year's worth hype - and frankly I don't see why it couldn't have met expectations if Tim and co had just calmed down a bit. We and Tarlos didn't need a tragedy at this juncture. We just needed a wedding.
As to the 'thing that happened' itself, Gabriel's unsurprising death still flattened me - in that it made me feel flat and blue. I didn't feel shocked by it, because it was so clearly going to happen somehow, and then it was very abrupt - but it was just so sad and a lot to process. The shockingness came from Carlos' spiral. Watching that was really hard. Rafa very intensely went to some dark places. He was incredible, and so was Ronen. Their acting and what they bring to their characters is my favourite thing.
Sooooo. Overall I have mixed feelings. This was my first experience of watching the show as it aired, so before now I had the whole of seasons 1-3 in retrospect. Nothing was a mystery. I think the lesson I've learned is to avoid getting too excited about bts and stills. They were tiny and often misleading glimpses that I made meaningful in my own head, but then on the actual show it would be a three second shot of not much.
BUT! And I really want to emphasise this: What I really love is the fandom. I love the metas, the gifs, the banter, the enthusiasm, the artwork, the fics. I love how we all understand how special Tarlos is - and I love how Ronen and Rafa understand that too. I wonder how they're feeling about it all now. I hope they're happy and ok. I hope everyone is, even if we're trying to process something a bit wild and beyond what we could have imagined.
I'm sorry if this isn't a satisfying response, and I'm sorry if anyone reads this and is upset that I'm not 100% positive, although I hope my take makes sense and you can understand where I'm coming from (I don't think my feelings on the matter are particularly unique anyway…)

2022: greatest hits
@roseofbattles thanks for the tag! 💕
Not the easiest task you gave me here, ahah, but here are the points I'm definitely grateful for this year:
1. Changed a studying program and got accepted into a new (my current) university!! I was previously in a medical school, but this year I decided to change both my uni and a studying program (gonna ba a clinical psychologist now yaaaay!!). Both my physical and mental health improved a lot after this change, and I got to meet a lot of new wonderful people, while also still staying in contact with some of my folks from the previous studying place.
2. Got more opportunities to spend time with my very close friends - for quite some time we were all caught up in our studies and haven't seen each other in a long while, but I feel like this year we became even closer than before. I love them with all my heart and soul, and I'm looking forward to spending the next year by each other's side.
3. I got back into drawing and started my own blog! I had a strong art block for the past year and a half, for several reasons, but still. It felt so satisfying to pick up my favorite hobby again, and moreso to be able to draw for the fandom I'm currently into x) Huge thanks to each and every person who supported me until this point, I always enjoy reading all your lovely comments in the tags and just talk about stuff with everyone who feels like it! 🥺 💛
4. Which leads me to the next point - FMA (and especially Royai) fandom - thank you all so much for all the encouragement and positivity and just for being such an awesome and welcoming community of cool people!! Special shout out to my dear tumblr pocket friends and my lovely Discord people, you guys absolutely rock 😎💕
5. My health improvement! - I was able to get my final big eye surgery, so I hope I won't have to go back to this stuff next year and that I'm finally leaving this part of my life behind.
6. Movies, books, fics and music - all this stuff gave me a lot of strength and inspiration during the year, well, especially the latter two, not gonna lie, ahah. I guess it's partially related to the fandom point, but especially music always has played a pretty big role in my life, and, since I got an honor to meet such incredible writers in 2022, I wanted to mention this point separately as well:)
I'm afraid I won't be able to get to 10, but anyway x)) This year with all honesty was a rough one for me in many aspects, but I'm glad I still have all these good things that I got and can share with you all.
Tagging all these beautiful people more as an act of appreciation, hehe, but I would love to read your lists if you feel like doing them too! (Upd: some of you already did, but I wanted to tag you anyway, it's my equivalent of a forehead kiss, *muah* ✨️)
@jedidragonwarriorqueen @nightofnyx8 @klainelynch @scienceoftheidiot @chrysopoeias @goneadrift @g3yser @monnigu @fullmetalscullyy @chewytriforce @peartato @firewoodfigs @musing-and-music @dairogo @niconiconina @hanamuri @tsaritsa @viridashi @magipies @dragonifyoudare @js589
Happy New Yeat everyone, very excited to see what it holds for us all:)
