#minxiety #we watched the marie antoinette movie in ap euro #by popular vote. because our teacher would never willingly play it because he thinks it’s that bad.#and i was giving it the benefit of the doubt #it was that bad.#they ended the movie where the plot should’ve began #and the actual ‘plot’ was so. slow.#there were at least three drawn-out operas #for no reason #and the entire plot was ‘tee-hee! i’m austrian!’ (tries to establish homesickness theme but forgets within one minute)#‘oh noo louis is autistic and won’t hit it’#‘tee hee i’m now partying like an absolute fuck!! deplete the treasury!!’#there are converse in one shot #then her useless affair with swedish fuck. isn’t the movie meant to paint her as sympathetic??#then the women’s march on versailles which is the most interesting part and also one of my favorite historical events #but they end it before her head gets chopped off…#also everyone else is so french you can’t understand them which makes marie and louis jarringly american sounding
