Ever since that moment, Davina has been loyal to Marcel and she knows she can’t thank him enough for saving her life. Because of her secluded lifestyle, Davina has had to miss out on a lot of things such as going to high school, attending parties, hanging out with friends and gossiping about boys. However, Marcel is the only family that she has and she’d do anything for him, so it’s been worth giving up her freedom to make him happy. Marcel has been the one person who didn’t give up on her, who saved her when her own family in New Orleans up and left and she still has no idea why they did that. Was she just not good enough? Was she not worth loving? Had she disappointed them when it comes to being a witch? She’d never been able to figure it out, but she’s grateful every single day that Marcel took her in and offered her a home and a family.

But when he goes missing one day, Davina can’t help but feel abandoned yet again and it’s something she can’t easily take. Her family walked away from her and she feels as if everyone has given up on her. Now that Marcel has done the same, it only makes things worse for the young witch. She knows she’s not supposed to leave the church, but when Marcel doesn’t return, what is she supposed to do? Staying locked inside isn’t an option for her. She’s all alone there and the only person she truly trusts has left. Everything inside of her is telling the girl to go out there and look for Marcel. As angry as she is, the vampire is still the only family she has left. Davina soon takes it upon herself to go look for Marcel by doing a locater spell and she finds him in Mystic Falls, discovering that he’s gone there to find out things about his past. She’s not mad at Marcel for wanting to find out more about his real family. She’d be doing the same thing herself if she got the chance. No, Davina is upset with him because he left her in New Orleans, without a single word. She feels abandoned, but Marcel tries his hardest to convince her that it was supposed to be temporary. He’d never leave her and only went to Mystic Falls to gather information, but something made him stay longer and he wanted to relocate Davina to the small town. Now that she’s here with Marcel, she’s not about to be cooped up inside a church or some other building yet again. No, Davina has plans. She wants to do more with magic and meet other witches and she wants to finally be able to go to college so she can start her life and become an adult, the way that she’s been wanting for a while now. She has no idea that her parents and older sister moved to Chicago, Illinois, the place where they all happened to get killed by a dark coven. Davina never knew about the feud that her mother had with other witches as the woman had always kept her youngest child out of it. She’d always told her husband and her oldest daughter to keep Davina safe if things ever came to blows, if they were ever found in New Orleans. Unfortunately, they had to move when they felt like the coven was on their heels and since Davina’s mom had never involved her, she thought the young witch would be safe in New Orleans all by herself. Since her mother, father and older sister knew all about the coven and what was going on, they had to escape, but were killed a couple of days ago, which is something that Marcel recently became aware of…

Davina and Lindsey were never close and rarely ever saw one another aside from family gatherings. Lindsey has no idea that her cousin has also come to Mystic Falls, but maybe Davina is willing to help her become more skillful when it comes to magic.

Marcellus Gerard

Marcel is like a father to Davina and he sees her as a daughter. He’s been taking care of the young girl ever since her family left, until he’d planned a short trip to Mystic Falls, which ended up being longer than expected. They’re also attending the same college, meaning that Davina runs into Theo frequently. Tegan senses that Davina is a witch and she can’t help but observe the girl for a while, wanting to figure out if she’d be qualified to help Tegan with her own magic. Davina is the one who offers Piper her help so the girl can find her mother. She had no idea that a vampire would attack Piper and feels bad about it, because that wasn’t supposed to happen and it kind of makes Davina doubt herself when it comes to her magic skills. She wants to do better and try to make it up to Piper, but she’s not sure if the girl will let her.

Rachel Townsend

Ever since Rachel’s arrival in town, there’s something about her that Davina doesn’t trust. She doesn’t know the girl’s story, but she thinks that Rachel is acting really strange for some reason and she’s determined to find out what the other witch’s deal is. Rachel has no idea that Davina has been keeping an eye on her though, or that the other girl is a witch, just like her.

Davina met Liam at college, with him easily noticing that she needed to get adjusted and find her way around. Liam makes Davina feel more normal and she knows she needs him to get back into the swing of things again.

There’s something dangerous and mysterious about Theo, which Davina instantly picked up on. She’s been sparring with him for a while, with the two making snide remarks that almost look like flirty comments. They’re also attending the same college, meaning that Davina runs into Theo frequently. Theo is somehow intrigued by Davina and he sure as hell isn’t planning to stop their bantering relationship anytime soon.

Tegan senses that Davina is a witch and she can’t help but observe the girl for a while, wanting to figure out if she’d be qualified to help Tegan with her own magic. Of course, Davina’s not sure why the other witch is following her around at times, but she’s picked up on it lately and feels like Tegan is stalking her or something. Davina’s wary of people who act that way, but Tegan isn’t about to give up. She wants to learn magic more than anything.

Davina Claire was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she grew up with her parents and older sister. When she was eight years old, Davina found out that she came from a long line of witches through her mother, because it was something that the woman had never kept a secret from her. Her father had always known about magic being in the family and it had never bothered the man. He’d always accepted his wife and daughters for being witches and it had never made him love them any less. When Davina was fourteen years old, her mother thought she was old enough to start practicing magic and it was then that she was given her grandmother’s grimoire. Her mother began to teach Davina spells and curses, alongside her older sister. However, when her family abandoned her when Davina was sixteen years old, Marcellus Gerard took the young girl under his wing and promised to take care of her, like he’d also once done with Hayley Marshall. She had nowhere else to go after her parents and sister had up and left the young girl and the last thing that she wanted was to be placed in a foster family, so Davina wanted to do whatever it took to stay out of that.
