Sahra's mom was hot on her heels. The pair had spent a couple of hours together at this point, exploring the different cultural booths and perusing the various foods. And despite the fact that Sahra was having a wonderful time and truly enjoyed her mother's company most days, when the matriarch of the Demir family steered the conversation towards Sahra's love life (or lack there of) and her disappointment in not being able to plan her wedding yet, she found herself quickly looking for an escape.

It was while her eyes darted around frantically, looking for any excuse to quite literally run away from the uncomfortable topic, that she saw Taner. The man who'd moved down the street from Lia's, and currently the only familiar face in the crowd. "Anne, one second, I see someone I know I have to go say hi. Üzgünüm, hemen döneceğim!" The words were spoken so quickly that they practically ran together, much like Sahra was quite literally running away from the woman who'd given her life.

"Hey neighbor!" Saddling up to Taner's side, she linked her arm through his and quickly glanced back towards her mom before looking up at him with a grin. "Do me a big favor and hog my attention for a bit until my mom forgets that she was grilling me on my love life, please?" Her eyes were wide and pleading as she continued, "Neighbors who do wellness checks on cranky old ladies gotta stick together, right? Please?" She paused, searching for a way to sweeten the pot to hopefully convince him to help her. "I'll love you forever?" She offered lamely, letting out a sigh. "Pl-eaaaase." The word was drug out and accompanied by a pout. Her last ditch effort to not have him shoo her away and instead offer her solace in his company.

She almost hadn't heard the knock, being back in her bedroom with the soundtrack of Rent blasting as she sang along to 'La Vie Bohem' at the top of her lungs. It'd been part of her 'get your ass out of bed and eat something green' routine she'd been forcing herself in to lately, especially since Lia had been spending more and more time away from home with Emil. She'd only realized the knock had happened when Puddin' came meowing at her feet.

"I don't, actually." She admitted, though she peeked her head out and peered in the general direction of the house. "They actually kind of hate me?" She admitted sheepishly, glancing to the stranger with a bit of a grin and and a shrug. "They come banging on the door at least twice a week telling me I'm being too loud. Which is insane, because I hear them knock every time don't I?" Taking a bit of a breath to stop herself from prattling on, Sahra stepped out of the house and shut the screen door so Puddin' wouldn't run out (and she wouldn't get locked out by shutting the front door- something that had happened on more than one occasion since she moved in with her best friend six months ago), beginning to make her way over to the house she tended to avoid- even on walks- and motioning for the stranger to follow her. "Their dog's name is Howard. For a while I thought it was the husband's name because the old lady there was always yelling at a Howard to shut up- which, you know, is comical since apparently I'm too loud, but whatever. They just- pireyi deve yapmak-" the Turkish idiom left her lips without thinking and she paused, shaking her head. "Sorry, they just like to blow things out of proportion."

Once they arrived on the neighbor's doorstep, Sahra rang the bell a few times before knocking. Hearing Howard barking in the background, she waited for the old lady's voice to chime in and scold the senior pooch- but it never came. "Hm..." The sound left her lips as her brows cinched and she turned her gaze to their driveway, noticing the car was gone. "Their car isn't here, maybe they're out?" She offered, tilting her head back to look up at the man who probably wasn't expecting her to lead them over to do the welfare check themselves. "The husband came over and threatened to cut the power to the house last night because he said he could hear me singing so they were here then... do you think they've found themselves in some kind of medical alert commercial in there?"

With only being in the neighborhood for 10 days now Taner still wasn't sure who all of his neighbors were and he had no real intention to go around greeting everyone. That wasn't his style and he was too quiet for that anyway. This was the south though and a few people had come by with baked goods. Which was nice. It'd been a long time since he'd been acquainted with that kind of hospitality. Concern was the reason he was knocking on a neighbor's door at this moment though. After his knuckles rapped against the door he glanced at the window to see if anyone was actually home but stepped back when he heard someone at the door. "Hey, not to alarm you or anything but do you know the elderly couple next door? Their names, a phone number, anything? I just moved into the neighborhood the other week and their dog has been barking like crazy since yesterday. I'm just thinking a wellness check might be a good idea."

"Brad!" Taner yelled, trying to stand strong against the current of people. The flash and cry of sirens nearing was enough to send everybody into a panic, people running in all directions like their life depended on it. "Brad!" he shouted again, looking for the stark opposite features anybody would expect a Brad to have. Nora. It was the easiest way to not raise suspicions with her family and just one of the many things they did to keep ticking along without any problems. Thinking about it, she should've been Alice and he could've been Brad but there wasn't much time to think when the barn was erupting into chaos. It was risking a lot because what if he found her as Ethan or JJ did? How would he explain running in the opposite direction of the crowd just to get to her? But that's what he needed to do. What man ran from trying to protect the woman he cared about? He was swept with worry that she was going to be dragged down or pushed aside as it was every man for itself. "Brad!" Another yell as he elbowed through friends and affiliates, and then he saw her and Taner didn't hesitate. He grabbed hold of her hand, pulling her towards him but not without his hands then taking her face gently. "You okay? You good?" he spoke loudly above the noise, leaning slightly to read the expression behind her eyes. "Let's go, I know the others will be fine. I saw Ryan got Tammie." he quickly explained, knowing she'd be worried about her family even after all of the Hell they caused for the two of them.

Jumu'ah Sohbet: 26 July 2024

Bismillah (In the name of the Divine) to the myriad channels of our spiritual learning. And, Allah please bless our various spiritual teachers for colouring our lives with meaning and purpose:

#1. Last Jumu'ah Sohbet Shaykh Nishaat, the heartsmith, spoke about the soul. For this, we have to unpack what the mind and spiritual heart are because it will make us understand the soul clearer, Insha'Allah. Let's start on the mind, while the brain controls a person's movements, emotions, and various bodily functions; the mind refers to a person's morality, reasoning, and understanding. The brain is a physical organ; it can be touched or seen; however, the mind is intangible; it can neither be touched nor seen

Next, the spiritual heart has no physical form and is limitless. It's our connection with Allah and is like an inner sun that shines Nur (Divine light) into all areas of our lives. The spiritual heart is always awake, always ready to light our path to full awareness. Now, the SOUL is the intertwining of the mind and the spiritual heart. The soul is the complex of all our knowing and believing. The soul is the complete activity of our inner person. The soul is the representation of who we are on the inside, the combination of our thoughts (mind) and feelings (spiritual heart).

So, our Shaykh Nishaat intriguingly asked us how our thoughts and actions influence our souls? When we make our choices unconsciously in a split second without thinking about it, there is no connection with Allah because there is no thought or niyat (intention) in our actions. When we rationalise and feel proud about ourselves, what is in play there, our spiritual hearts or our nafs? Each choice followed by an action in a day that we make influences our soul, for the good and not so good, because only Shaytan can be bad, of course! Here, the heartsmith unpacked a Hadith Qudsi, which is a saying of our beloved Prophet (SAW), as our micro blessing that enables us to operate soulfully each time, Insha'Allah:

#2. Then Wakil Shamim, your Abbu and Papa (grandfather) of Zaynab, who we physically saw for the first time at our congregational Zikr, was asked to comment. He said,

"We all have an opportunity to gain knowledge on the path, but how much of our lives are devoted to that? If we focus on what we are meant to on the Sulook (spiritual journey), then we don't have to wait for our old age (like your Abbu and Ammu did 😳) You young people have the opportunity to get to the enlightened stage quicker."

#3. Thereafter, Anne (our spiritual mother) had us spellbound with her gracious wisdom. She said:

"Our normal way of being is like a seesaw, sometimes good and sometimes bad. However, when we are living with our connections, we hear our hearts. Our conscience is the voice of our hearts. The inclination toward evil is not going to go away, but it will become less! The influence of the world's negativity on us will be less. Shaykh Taner would always say that good and bad are always mixed in this world, but in the hereafter, good and bad will be separate..."

I was left pondering about the recent earthquake in Turkey, the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and even our accident. With disasters, there are always negative but positive perspectives as well! Shukran Ya Allah (Divine gratitude) for Shaykh Taner's Positivity prayers that keep the positive perspective in our consciousness. This brings us to what your Ammu discovered by Allah's magical touch. It reminded her that while we're in this world, every day is a beautiful day with Allah, whether we face sunshine or rain, joy or pain:

#4. Anne continued to tug on our heart strings as she said,

"You are connected to Allah! Do you feel that Allah is connected to you as well? Allah is showing immense compassion to you and love! I don't feel like I lost love because your Shaykh is not physically around. Actually, in that great sadness, everywhere I looked, I saw love! That became another reason to cry when you're in the crying mode, whether you are happy or you're sad! It can be both too, as you know! I want you to think and remember a moment where you felt Allah talk to you directly..."

For your Ammu, it was crystal clear, in retrospect, when:

i. She was directed away from the vain design field into the service of the poor with her newfound research abilities.

ii. When she saw a dolphin spring into the air at the Durban beachfront for the first time, it inspired her to get married to your Abbu.

iii. When she eventually dawdled to Shaykh Taner to request to become a murid (follower of the AQRT Tariqa), after a couple of years, mind you! He graciously welcomed her regardless, after a chuckle at her reasoning, that she wanted to join the family of misfits! 🥹✨

#5. Your Wakil Abbu ran the learning circle. He was reflecting on a Sohbet from 2022 with Shaykh Taner and Anne. The topic was remaining connected to Allah, especially in the moment now! What are Allah's attributes that He's sharing with us in whatever we're doing? It's about how we keep that focus during our daily lives, where we get so engrossed and become heedless of our consciousness of, and connection to, Allah. We must then check each time if Allah is with us in our activity?!

As always, Anne beautifully complimented Shaykh Taner, where she spoke about 'Secret of secrets' in that Sohbet. The Prophet (SAW) said that the first thing that Allah created was Nur'e Muhammad (Light of the Prophet, SAW). From there, we know that Allah created the Arsh (heavenly throne) and all of creation. However, the first thing that Allah created was the Ruh (soul), then Al Qalam (the pen), and the 'Aql (intellect). All of these things represent the Prophet (SAW) as Allah's first creation. When we are immersed in our activities, we are then connected to the Prophet (SAW) as well, as he's the wasila (means) to get connected with Allah.

Shukran Ya Allah to the count of infinity that Ammu's former research reporting skills is spiritually inspiring us through our family Jumu'ah Sohbets! When physically unable in the world, has she gained the spiritual ability to reflect on her mind, heart, and soul!

BOZKURT DÜŞMANLIĞI

“Pirincin içindeki siyah taştan değil, beyaz taştan sakının”

Türklerin; millî kültür değerlerinin en önemlilerinden biri sayılan “

Bozkurt”a karşı düşmanlık, elbette ki oldukça eski yıllara dayanır.

Ancak,

Türk olup da mankurtlaşmamış bir zümrenin Bozkurt düşmanlığı yapması oldukça yeni sayılır.

Türkler ilk anayurtlarında yaşarken, düşmanları başta varlığı olmak üzere, Türklerin her şeyine düşman iken, elbette ki kendilerine mânevî güç verdiğine inandıkları bütün kültür değerlerinin yanında Bozkurt’a da düşman idiler.

Türkler İslâmiyet’i kabul ettikten sonra ise, Bozkurt’u bir totem olarak gören bâzı zavallılar da, artık Bozkurt motifinin Türkler için bir değer olamayacağını ileri sürerek, onu sevenlere karşı düşmanlık beslemeye devam etmi��lerdir.

Halbuki bundan önceki sohbetimizde açıkladığımız gibi Türklerde Bozkurt hiçbir zaman totem olarak alınmamış, ona tapınılmamıştır.

O sadece atalarından kalan ve millî kültür değerini ifade eden bir sembol olarak bilinmiştir.

Yine, Türkün büyük düşmanlarından birisi olan SSCB döneminin ilk yıllarında Lenin, araştırmacı tarih yazarı İlhan Bardakçı (Murat Bardakçı’nın babası) ile yaptığı bir konuşmada:

-- “Türkiye’de komünizmi yerleştirmek için önce onlara dinlerini, milliyetlerini unutturmak ve kafalarına yerleşmiş olan şu Bozkurt efsanesini söküp atmak lâzımdır” demiştir.(Dr. Tahsin Ünal, Türklüğün Sembolü Bozkurt, Millî Ülkü yayını,6.Baskı,s.21,Konya-1976).

Yakın zamanlarda ise; İsmet İnönü’nün Cumhurbaşkanlığı döneminde ve 1970′lerden sonra da solun desteğinde Bülent Ecevit’in yanında bulunan özellikle Başbakanlığı döneminde bâzı kişilerce aşırı derecede Bozkurt düşmanlığı yapılmıştır.

Bunların dışında ise, kendilerini Atatürkçü gören bâzı gâfiller de bu rüzgâra kapılarak Bozkurt düşmanlığında bulunmuşlardır. Sadece örnek olarak 1974′de yaşanan hazin bir olay basına şöyle yansımıştır:

“Sene içersinde yapılan bir aramada bir ülkücü öğrencinin üzerinde Atatürk’ün zamanında basılmış olan Bozkurtlu paraların örneği bulunmuş ve bu paralar suç aleti olarak alınmıştır.”

Halbuki Atatürk’teki Bozkurt sevgisi; gelmiş-geçmiş hiçbir devlet adamında ve döneminde yaşanmamış ve O’nun bu sevgisinden ötürü de kendisine gerek yabancı ve gerekse bâzı vatandaşlarımız/yazarlarımız “Bozkurt” demişler.

Taner couldn't remember the last time there was genuine concern for his safety. It was nowhere to be found until he met Nora and while there was a warmth knowing she cared, it was foreign. Welcomed in easily but awkwardly sat there, not knowing how to be addressed. His protective nature didn't want her to worry on his behalf either, thinking it was a means of failure to make the person he cared for experience any emotion other than happiness. It was then he wondered if her family were right, if Nora would only blossom when he was far away from her. "I've got pretty good at it over the years." he laughed, watching her work with a slight tilt of his head. His deep eyes were fixed on her every movement, the pain weaved through with the stitches was comforting. Probably because of who's hands were creating them. "You can want to protect me I guess but that's not your job, Nora. It's mine." he said sincerely but quietly, one of his hands feeling confident to hold her waist low enough to pull away if the curtain suddenly pulled open. They were used to it now, becoming professionals in stealing affection wherever they were. Fleeting moments of pure bliss were better than none at all.

He wished it would be easy to leave everything behind. He'd been tempted a few times now. Throw things into his car, take Nora by the hand and just drive. The Reapers didn't take disloyalty lightly but that wasn't the only thing that stopped him. As much as the Jones' felt nothing but spite towards him, he'd never want to see Nora torn away from them. "Does worrying about me hurt you in any way?" He had to ask because if it did, why was he even there in her life? She deserved better. Taner pulled his thoughts back to a practical place for a moment, the hand at his waist getting confident at their privacy for the time being and traveling to cup her face. He stole a kiss, gentle and not disturbing their conversation. "You can be my phone call tonight if you want. I already got bail covered." it's how the reapers worked, and it'd mean extra jobs to pay it back which fed into the cycle but he wasn't going to question that too deeply.

Nora always tries to be brave for the people she loves. Like fireflies in a mason jar on a hot summer day, she tries to catch fear with both her hands. She tries to force it down so she can focus on what her family needs. And now, what Taner needs. She doesn’t want him to think she’s afraid, even as she chews her lower lip before his cavalier words force a soft laugh from her. She pauses what she’s doing and gives him a stern look, or as much of a stern look as Nora can muster. “I’d be so mad if you did that, Tan.” The younger Jones firmly believes that best hands for his wounds are her own. “And then I’d be mad that you gave yourself shitty stitches I’d just have to fix.” As if to prove her point, she sets aside the gauze and picks up a suture. “Why is that stupid?” she lowers her voice even more, not meeting his gaze as she shrugs, “Of course I want to protect you.”

She doesn’t say those three little words but they’re evident in the care she takes, stitching up his wound. Her hold is gentle but firm and her work is careful but confident. She didn’t need to say them because her actions told him how she felt. Eventually, a soft sight escapes her. This is the part she hates – how the Reapers are family but they’re the sort of family that can get you in trouble. She’s heard stories. “Maybe dumb circles are better than stupid accidents?” There’s no bite in her tone, because she knows he can’t stop it and, beyond that, she knows he doesn’t want to stop. It’s part of who he is and she’s known that from go. She still hates seeing him hurt. “But…I’m working on it. I know it doesn’t seem like it but,” Nora finally looks at him, green eyes sincere as she speaks, “I am. I hate worrying.” She never thought of herself as a worrier until she understood what being part of the Reapers could mean, and then worry never stopped.

Taner let out a sardonic laugh feeling a rift of rage cycle through his mind. JJ was arguably the most annoying Jones, since the eldest didn't bother trying to throw insults or obvious punches. He just became irritating and easily pushing Taner to be the first one to lose his cool. "I don't know if you're too comfortable there or if the idea of Bruce having your head isn't as scary as it used to be but when I say now, I mean now." he snapped, watching how the Jones hadn't moved an inch. "We're against the clock, JJ. I can't be any clearer than that." Taner sighed, rubbing his hand through his beard as he looked to the truck. This was stupid and as an enforcer, Taner thought he had the right to choose who he got stuck with for jobs. "I guess being difficult is your favorite past time."

"yeah almost done." he replies lazily and jackson watches the keys land by his feet, paying them no mind and not allowing them to rush his beer. he sips slowly, smacking his lips as if he has all day just to piss taner off. he hates him, if he hasn't already made it clear. "aw well if they ever demote ya, come tell me first. i'll plan the party." he lifts the can up to toast the very thought of waving goodbye and seeing the back of taner's slicked hair. "bruce can get what he gets, you know cops circle brookwood like fuckin' vultures so best to not have much of a plan and see what works when we're there. yeah?" he nods upwards, words sharp and quick as he takes another leisurely sip of beer.

Son yazıma çok sayıda olumlu ve olumsuz tepki geldi (1).

Bu tepkilerin odağı Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör ve Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı idi. Yazımı olumsuz olarak eleştirenlerin ezici bir çoğunluğu kendisini Kemalist, Atatürkçü ya da cumhuriyetçi olarak tanımlayan okurlardı. Bu okurların hemen hemen hiçbiri yazılanların yanlış olduğunu söylemiyor ama “cumhuriyetçi” iki bilim insanının bu şekilde suçlanmasını eleştiriyorlardı.

Bir kitleyi dönüştürmek isterseniz o kitlenin aydınlarını, kanaat önderlerini, düşünce üreticilerini değiştirmeniz gerekir. Bir kitleyi körleştirmek isterseniz yapacağınız tek şey o kitleyi aydınsız bırakmaktır. Aydın, toplumun gözüdür.

Gazeteci-yazar Hrant Dink öldürüldüğünde Agos Gazetesi’nin başına onun yerine Etyen Mahçupyan getirilmişti. Kendisini sosyalist olarak tanımlayan, yüreği, midesi ve beyni bu topraklarda olan H. Dink’in yerine 1994 yılından beri İslamcı partilere oy verdiğini söyleyen başbakan danışmanı E. Mahçupyan (2)…

Soros’u öve öve bitiremeyen E. Mahçupyan (3) ile H. Dink’in Ermeni olmaları dışında ortak noktaları neydi acaba?

H. Dink öldürüldü ve onun yerini E. Mahçupyan aldı.

Cumhuriyetçi, Atatürkçü, Kemalist kitlelerin düşünsel önderleri Uğur Mumcu, Ahmet Taner Kışlalı, Bahriye Üçok, Necip Hablemitoğlu gibi yazarlar sırayla katledildi.

Bu bir dönüştürmedir. Bugün, sağdan sola siyasal yelpazenin değişik yerlerinde duran A. T. Kışlalı, U. Mumcu, B. Üçok, Türkan Saylan, N. Hablemitoğlu gibi aydınların boşalttığı yerlere Celal Şengör ve İlber Ortaylı gibi yazarlar konumlanmıştır. Cumhuriyetçi, Atatürkçü ve Kemalist kitleler artık bu kişilerin düşüncelerini dikkate almaktadır.

EVREN'İN 12 EYLÜL DÖNEMİNDE YAPTIĞI HER ŞEYİ ONAYLIYORUM!

Bir söyleşide Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör (CŞ) şunları söylemişti:

CŞ: Kenan Evren’in 12 Eylül döneminde yaptığı her şeyi onaylıyorum. Evet, istisnasız.

- Şaka yapıyorsunuz.

CŞ: Hayır, efendim.

- İnsanlara dışkısını yedirmek?

CŞ: Hayır, hayır bir dakika. Bir kere dışkısını yedirmek işkence değil (4).

DENİZ GEZMİŞ EŞKİYADIR!

Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör aynı söyleşide şunları da söyler:

Yani ben bu memlekette, Deniz Gezmiş gibi bir eşkıyaya kahraman denildiğini gördüm!

Bu sözlere “c��mbızlama” diyebilecek okurlar, linkteki söyleşinin tamamını okuyabilirler.

Sadece Mamak ve Diyarbakır cezaevlerinde neler yaşandığına şöyle bir göz atmak bile bu cümleden ve bunu söyleyenden tiksinmeniz için yeterlidir. Oralarda tutuklu ve hükümlülere neler yapıldığı, o insanların yazdıkları ve anlattıkları C. Şengör’ün ilgisini çeker mi acaba?

C. Şengör, cumhuriyetin tabutuna çivi çakan, bu ülkeyi tepeden tırnağa yeniden dizayn eden bir CIA darbesinde yapılanları onaylamaktadır; hem de “istisnasız” vurgusuyla.

Sayısız yargısız infazlar, en aşağılık işkenceler, sayısız işkenceden ölümler bile C. Şengör için “istisna” olmaya yetmemektedir. Kira davalarının bile en az 2 yıl sürdüğü bir ülkede, hiçbir kanıt incelenmeden 41 günde verilmiş bir idam kararıyla Erdal Eren’in asılması da bir istisna değildir.

12 Eylül’ün ve Kenan Evren’in yaptıklarının, dolayısıyla C. Şengör’ün “istisnasız” bir şekilde onayladıklarının listesi layıkıyla sıralanacak olsa koskoca bir ansiklopedi yazılması gerekir. Bu ansiklopedinin her cümlesi, insanı C. Şengör’ün bu cümlesinden daha fazla tiksindirecek kadar utançla dolu olur.

Bu bir kötülüktür. Bu, yüz binlerce insanın acısıyla alay etmek ve üzerinde tepinmektir.

Bugün cumhuriyeti zerrece savunan birinin 12 Eylül’e sempati duyması için ya çok bilgisiz ya çok vicdansız olması ya da aklını yitirmesi gerekir.

FETHULLAH GÜLEN ÖVÜCÜSÜ CUMHURİYETÇİ!

Bir söyleşide Fethullah Gülen’le görüşüp görüşmediği sorusunu İ. Ortaylı, gerek İstanbul'da gerekse Amerika'da fırsat buldukça F. Gülen'le görüştüğünü söyleyerek yanıtlar.

Prof. Dr. İ. Ortaylı, F. Gülen’le ilgili olarak şöyle devam eder:

"Ben Türk coğrafyası üzerine konuştum, eksik olmasın o da ilgiyle dinledi. Zaten her görüşmemizde bunları konuşuruz. Okulları konuşuruz. 1,5-2 saatlik görüşme yaptık.

Ben her zaman için söylerim, kendisi inanıyor. Sakin birisi. Belirgin konularda hassas. Bu eğitim konusunda falan. Merak ederim sorarım, bana anlatır. Bu çok önemli bir şey, bir cemaat liderinin, her şeyden önce bir öğretmenin sakin ve sabırlı olması lazım. Mühim meselesi bu. Gerisi ilgilendirmez kimseyi. (5)”

İ. Ortaylı bunları söylediğinde Yarbay Ali Tatar, ayrıntıları artık bilinen komplolarla hapse atılmış, bu durumu onuruna yedirememiş ve protesto etmek için yaşamına son vermişti. İ. Ortaylı’nın ekranda F. Gülen’i övdüğü o günlerde, F. Gülen’in müritleri, yüzlerce insanı sahte delillerle hapse atıyor, işkence yapıyor, anaokulları giriş sorularına kadar her türlü sınav sorusunu çalarak yandaşlarını devletin kılcal damarlarına kadar yerleştiriyorlardı.

Bir an düşünün:

U. Mumcu’nun F. Gülen’i övdüğü bir satır, bir cümle, bir yazı ya da bir ima var mıdır?

A. T. Kışlalı’nın böyle bir şey yaptığını aklınıza getirebilir misiniz?

Kemalistlerin geçmişteki kanaat önderlerinden herhangi birinin F. Gülen’i övdüğünü okudunuz mu?

Aksine T. Saylan’dan N. Hablemitoğlu’na U. Mumcu’dan A. T. Kışlalı’ya kadar her biri Fethullahçı çeteye karşı yıllarca ısrarlı bir şekilde toplumu uyardı. 1999 yılında T. Saylan bu tehlikeyi dillendirdiğinde onu din düşmanı ilân ettiler (6). N. Hablemitoğlu, 1999 yılında aşağıda linkleri verilen programlarda yaptığı uyarılardan 3 yıl sonra katledildi (7,8).

U. Mumcu’nun bu konuda sayısız yazı yazdığını bilmeyen yoktur.

Bugün isimlerini art arda sıraladığımız bu Kemalist/cumhuriyetçi yazarların ortak noktası öldürülmüş olmalarının yanında siyasal İslam’a ve Fethullahçı çeteye karşı açıkça, kıvırtmadan net tavır almaları ve bu tehlikelere karşı toplumu ısrarla, yılmadan ve bıkmadan uyarmalarıydı.

Bu aydınlar yıllar öncesinden canları pahasına bu uyarıları yaparken 2006 yılında Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, Prof. Dr. Toktamış Ateş ile birlikte editörlüğünü üstlendiği “Barış Köprüleri” adlı bir kitapta Fethullah Gülen’i ve okullarını övüyordu:

“Buna karşın bir takım insanların inandığı, beğendiği bazı şeyler olunca, inanılmaz derecede yardım sağlanıyorsa, keseyi açıyorsa burada dikkat edilmesi gereken bir şey var demektir. Şimdi Fethullah Gülen Hoca “okul açınız! Bu lazımdır!” dediği an bir sürü insan keseyi açıyorsa bunu önemsemek lazım. (9)“

Elbette hepimiz gibi İ. Ortaylı’nın da yanılma hakkı vardır. Ancak bu konuda herhangi bir özeleştiri yaptığını gördünüz mü? Güçten ve güçlüden yana olmak, nabza göre şerbet vermek bir aydın tutumu olamaz. Hiçbir kitle, bu tip kanaat önderlerine layık değildir.

İ. Ortaylı, özeleştiri yapmayı bir kenara bırakın, Fethullahçılar suç örgütü ilan edildikten sonra bile bu konuyu gündeme getirenlere kızgınlık göstermektedir (10).

AKP’lilerin, Fethullahçılarla olan yakın ilişkilerinden sıyrılmak için “kandırıldık” demesi, sık sık alay konusu edilir. İ. Ortaylı’nın böyle bir beyanı dahi yoktur.

F. Gülen’e yaptığı övgüleri, onun okullarını övmek için yazdığı kitap, “tarihçidir, herkesle görüşmesi normaldir” diye açıklanabilir mi? “Kandırıldık” diyen AKP’lilerle alay ediliyorsa “kandırıldım bile demeyen” İ. Ortaylı’ya gösterilen bu sınırsız hoşgörü neyin nesidir?

Bu, kendini kandırmaktır.

“HÖDÜK”, “BİR B.K BİLMEZ” AMA BİRLİKTE KİTAP YAZILIR!

Mustafa Armağan adlı kişinin Atatürk ile ilgili hakaretlerine İ. Ortaylı şöyle yanıt verir:

“Herif kendine göre tarihi çarpıtıyor. Bunlar cahil adamlar, ne bilirler tarihi. Bir b.k bildikleri yok. Ne okuyacak ne bilecek. Allah'ın hödüğü suratına baksan halde turp sattırmazsın. (11)”

Cumhuriyetçi kitleler de bu sözleri alkışlamaktadır. Ancak burada “küçük” birkaç ayrıntı vardır.

İ. Ortaylı “hödük”, “cahil”, “bir b.k bilmeyen”, “pazarda turp bile satamayacak adam” dediği bu kişiyle birlikte “Resmi Tarih Yalanları” ve “Tarihin Sınırlarına Yolculuk” adlı iki kitap yazmıştır (12,13).

Ayrıca İ. Ortaylı, “Gelenekten Geleceğe” adlı kitabının önsözünde, “hödük”, “cahil”, “bir b.k bilmeyen” ve “pazarda turp bile satamayacak adama”, “Dostum Mustafa Armağan” diye hitap eder (14). Resmi Tarih Yalanları kitabının editörü Cem Küçük olup yazarları arasında Mehmet Şevket Eygi, Yavuz Bahadıroğlu, Nevval Sevindi gibi isimler de vardır.

İ. Ortaylı, “hödük”, “cahil”, “bir b.k bilmeyen” ve “pazarda turp bile satamayacak adam” diye nitelediği M. Armağan’ın “Petersburg’da Osmanlı İzleri” adlı kitabına önsöz de yazmıştır (15).

Bu durumda İ. Ortaylı’ya şu soruyu sormak gerekir:

Bu M. Armağan ne zaman “cahil” ve “hödük” oldu?

Birlikte kitap yazdığınızda “bilgili” ve “turp satabilir halde” miydi?

“Dostum” diye hitap ettiğiniz kişi, birlikte kitap yazdıktan hemen sonra mı “hödükleşti”?

M. Armağan’ın kitabına önsöz yazdığınız sırada M. Armağan “tarihten anlıyor” muydu?

NABZA GÖRE ŞERBET VERME ÜSTADI

Hiç kıvırtmaya gerek yok; bu nabza göre şerbet vermektir. M. Armağan eskiden neyse şimdi de odur, ne olduğu o zaman da ortadaydı, şimdi de ortadadır.

Hesap yapan İ. Ortaylı’dır. Dün çıkarları gereği her türlü işbirliğine girdiği kişileri, aralarında sanki hiçbir ilişki yaşanmamış gibi bugün aşağılaması bir aydın tutumu değildir.

İ. Ortaylı bütün bu manevraların sonunda ve hesapçılık sayesinde mutlu sona ulaşmış ve tarih alanında 2017 yılında Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kültür ve Sanat Büyük Ödülü’nü almıştır (16).

İ. Ortaylı’yı ateşli bir şekilde savunan bazı cumhuriyetçilerin bu ödülü şaşkınlıkla karşılaması çok gariptir. İ. Ortaylı, kendi içinde gayet tutarlıdır. Tuhaf olan İ. Ortaylı’nın yaptıkları değil, kimi cumhuriyetçilerin ona “cumhuriyet aydını” muamelesi yapmasıdır.

Hiçbir yükseliş ya da cinayet boşa değildir.

Onlarca Fethullahçıyı göz göre göre general yapan sistem, sakıncalı oldukları gerekçesiyle H. Dink ve U. Mumcu’yu onbaşı dahi yapmamıştı. Kimin ne kadar sakıncalı olduğunu anlamak için 15 Temmuz’u yaşamaya gerek yoktu.

Katledilen aydınlar, bunları yıllar öncesinden açıkça söylemiş, yazmış, ortaya koymuştu.

KARANLIĞA AYDINLIK DİYEN “AYDIN”

Aydın, karanlığı gören değil, karanlıkta görendir. Cumhuriyetçi kitlelerin “karanlığı gören” aydınlarını tek tek katlettiler. Onların yerini alanların bir kısmı, bırakınız karanlığı görmeyi, bu topluma “karanlığı aydınlık” diye gösterdiler.

Bugün cumhuriyetçi kitlelerin kanaat önderi olarak aldığı bu yazarlar, liberallerin “bayrak sallayan, cırtlak sesli İzmirli Kemalist teyze” diye karikatürize ederek aşağıladığı o sıradan vatandaş kadar bile öngörülü değillerdi. Olur olmaz yere onu bunu “cahil” diye aşağılayan, şimdilerde her gün televizyonlarda konuşan ve cumhuriyetçilerin kanaat önderi muamelesi gören İ. Ortaylı, o “teyze” kadar bile refleks göstermemiş, aksine cumhuriyet yıkıcılarıyla açıkça işbirliği yapmıştır.

İ. Ortaylı, sözcüklerden yapılmış cilalarla, canavarı parlatıp topluma şirinmiş gibi göstermiştir. İ. Ortaylı, “dikkat canavar var” diyerek toplumu uyaran insanların yanında olmadığı gibi, uyaranları yutmak için açılan canavarın ağzındaki dişlere övgüler düzmüştür.

Canavara karşı çıkanların kılavuzu, canavarı besleyip büyütenler olamaz.

AYDINSIZ CUMHURİYETÇİLER

Prof. Dr. İ. Ortaylı kendi alanında önemli bir kişidir. Prof. Dr. C. Şengör jeoloji ve doğa bilimleri konusunda son derece bilgilidir ve değerli bilgiler vermektedir. Zaten hiç kimse bu bilim insanlarının kendi uzmanı olduğu alanlardaki beyanlarına söz söylememektedir.

Ancak aydın olmak, mükemmel bir jeolog ya da seçkin bir tarihçi olmak demek değildir. Aydın olmak bir tutumdur. İ. Ortaylı ve C. Şengör’ün tutumları, “cumhuriyetçi aydın” sıfatıyla tamamen ilgisizdir.

Sadece bir saptama olarak şu rahatlıkla söylenebilir:

Bugün kendine cumhuriyetçi, Kemalist, Atatürkçü diyen kitlelerin aydınları yoktur. Bu kitleler aydınsızdır. Milyonlarca cumhuriyetçi, el yordamıyla aydınlarını aramakta ve ne yazık ki İ. Ortaylı gibi kişilere sarılmakta, bu insanlarda keramet aramaktadır.

Bu ülkenin en canlı kesimlerinden yüzü Aydınlanmaya, akla ve bilime dönük milyonlarca insan, bu değerleri sahiplenmeyen kişiler tarafından yönlendirilmektedir.

Cumhuriyetçi kitleler bugün bu yazarların hipnozundan çıkmalı ve reflekslerini en azından o “İzmirli teyze”nin refleks düzeyine yükseltmelidir.

Cumhuriyetçi kitleler aydınlarını ve kanaat önderlerini seçerken çok dikkatli olmaları olmak zorundadır.

Çünkü aydınını doğru seçmeyen kitleler körleşirler.

Taner was brimming with confidence as he stepped into the ring. Wolf's name and reputation were daunting, along with the fact he had been inside for five years. Still there was a hint of cockiness in the younger man, thinking age would be an advantage and Taner hadn't quite learned that Wolf's sparkly personality was all part of the trickery at times. Center Hill's very own Loki. He approached at the same time, prepared for the cordial exchange but laughing as Wolf flinched. "Aw, I'm gonna feel bad hurting you. You're someone's grandpa now, right?" he chided without any good nature in the tone. If he could get under Wolf's skin, it was just another tally next to the advantages he thought he had. He scoffed at the childish retort, shaking his head as the crowd jeered with amusement. All he could do next was wait and Taner was patient when he needed to be, eyes shifting through the rows of people and finding Nora's gaze. He didn't nod to her like he wanted, but he raised two fingers to scratch behind his ear briefly. Her sign that he was thinking of her. Then there was no time for sentiments. All Taner could do was focus, ignoring the fact it was all meant to be good fun. He went for it, without holding back but Wolf was a difficult man to try and knock out. The damn Cross would duck and dive like he was made of springs until finally, Taner landed a hit right in the other man's face which sent him backwards into the ropes. "Was that a ticklish spot too?"

These nights are a glorious yet brutal form of entertainment. Wolf has always enjoyed them, immersing himself into something of a gladiator. Give the people a show. He's pacing the ring but not from agitation or anger, he's riling up the crowd. His laugh is beaming as he continues a call and response with the gathered people. He's dotting kisses to his love's foreheads, throwing his fist in the air to incite cheers and a few friendly yet competitive comments about his possible victory against Taner. He then approaches the other man with a large grin, offering out a fist for a civil interaction but as Taner lifts his own, Wolf pretends to jolt from surprise fear before he erupts into laughter. "Ha, kidding. Didn't think I'd be that scared of you, did you?" he goads with as much good nature as one can expect from the eldest Cross. "We're gonna have great fun, Taner. I think it's worth mentioning I'm somewhat ticklish. Right here." he rolls down his shorts just an inch, flicking a finger over his waist line. "If you're brave enough."

       Clubs and bars weren’t really his scene anymore. It wasn’t that David couldn’t enjoy himself at one just because he stopped drinking alcohol -- he just preferred to be in the company of friends, like he had done it all the time back in Iceland.
