The drawback (or benefit, depending on how you looked at it) of living in the same town where you'd been born and raised was that you never really had to go too far without running into someone you knew. Sometimes, JD felt as if he'd never fully escape the familiarity of it all. It was during those times when the feeling got particularly bad that JD was especially grateful for his job. Of course, he still had to interact with people, but the majority of people who frequented the state park were the kind of people who did not grate on his nerves. Too much.

Tim was one such person. He'd known the other man for years, and there was a part of him that had to admit that he both admired and envied him. Tim was smart in a way that JD never would be. "What's got your pretty head all twisted up in knots now," JD asked clapping the man on the shoulder as he came to stand beside him. JD knew what it was like to want to escape the noise inside your own head. He couldn't say exactly that that was what Tim was experiencing, but he couldn't imagine that the man's job made it easy for him to find peace. "You know if you stand too long in a single spot, you'll sprout roots and never be able to leave again."

Rose strolled into Tim’s office with a steady click clack of her heels, not waiting for him to formally tell her to come in. This was too important for formalities. “He cut through my security like it was a game and I don’t like to lose.”

"That’s an, interesting kink but I totally get it.” Gwen replied as she glanced around and let out a soft breath before she turned her attention back on him. “Then if you like being home alone, how come you wanted to meet up?” She tilted her head to the side a bit. “I mean, I have nothing against meeting up and getting something to eat but if you’d rather leave early, then that’s fine with me. I have a few comics that I got the other day that I’ve been wanting to read.”

nSat on the bench with his coffee, Phillip was enjoying a moment of silence and, admittedly, doing a wee bit of people watching. At times, Phillip enjoyed imagining what people’s lives were like based on how they looked and carried themselves. Of course, it was most likely never accurate, but it gave him something to do. However, when Tim crossed his path, he had to say something. “Hey, man, nice shoes!” he complimented genuinely, hoping the other wasn’t taken too off guard.

Oh, gosh. Elliott said you were doing good financially, but that’s…like, super good. Oh, that’s really nice. I like it that way, though! It’s always been my hope that after we all graduate, we could have a gigantic party somewhere with all our claims, and all their siblings and just spread it out as far as possible.

PM: I’ll talk to him and Blaine, I promise. I just need the day, I think, to wallow, before family steps in and tries to fix it all.

I do VERY fair. And I have no issue giving as much as it’s needed to keep my family, and my future family happy and safe. I have the feeling that will most certainly happen at some point, and it will be a blast.

sasha headed to the grocery store and put whatever she wanted in the cart. she tried to remember what he liked but couldn’t seem to recall what he ate in the snack room. so she just grabbed what she thought he would like. she picked out alcohol and didn’t have a care in the world. sure the barrier was up and they were cursed to be stuck to this town but after the archives this wasn’t as bad as it could be. she finished up and checked filling her backseat with the bags. heading over to tim’s. when she arrived she knocked on the door and smiled. this is what they deserved after working that place for so long, they deserved sunlight and smiles.

And today she was ensuring her other southern pumpkin was getting all the works. “Just like when ya’ go to your aunties Thanksgiving, ya’ need all the fixin’s to have it the right way.” Lottie gave him a warm smile as she loaded the top of the whipped cream with all the works. The steady drip drip drip echoed in the empty hallway that led up to the Drake’s apartment, red liquid dripping from the door handle and onto the pristine floor below, the lone noise deafening. Streaks of red decorated the otherwise plain hallways, all leading up to a pool of blood that had begun to seep under the door frame of the residence.

Besides the steady beat of the incessant dripping the only other sound was the shallow breathing of a small figure bathing in the pool of red. Hair streamed out beneath them and it took closer inspection to realize that they were a blonde, not a redhead as the blood soaked locks implied. A large gash along the abdomen solved the mystery of who’s blood it was almost immediately. As to who was responsible, the words keep your mutt on a tighter leash painted across the door left little to the imagination. Someone had challenged the darkness and the darkness had won.
