The Pacific Northwest looks and feels a lot like autumn this week. Wearing my Hallgrim Scarf for some outside photos was perfectly comfortable, even if rain kept me on the front porch. Instead of creating a beautiful and intricate post about the brand new year, this is what's on my mind. For me, new beginnings don't exactly sprout easily. Less than a foot of twisted rib before cable motifs at the far end of my Hallgrim Scarf. I’ll go as far as I can without starting another skein, nearly 7 feet, but the pattern will give yardage per foot for knitters to work their own length. The scarf that became the prototype for this pattern is 6-1/2 feet long, but I know not everyone likes their scarves as dramatically long.
