I wanna start detangling my hair today with a leave in conditioner and hopefully wash it today- so that I have 2 days to detangle it. My dream was to have it cainrowed up for school.

A Fresh Start !

I’ve been wanting to Big Chop for well over a year but never had the courage to do it…until this year ! I big chopped in May and have been braiding my hair since because I wasn’t feeling too confident with how low it was. In August I lost so much hair due to the braids being too heavy so I decided it was time to embrace my short hair. It’s been a month kicking it with my curls and about 2 weeks with me falling in love with relearning how to care for my hair. I have also had the urge to document this journey somewhere so here I am documenting lol Hopefully I can keep up with it.

SHOOT DAY

My shoot is very casual very candid capturing two of students who study at UCA Rochester - Styling wise I wanted to come in their natural hair one in wash and go the other in cainrows. I am capturing them with my iphone using the app DazzCam to get the vintage retro look but having their skin perfectly saturated to emphasise their melanin skin.

So first I captured Esther then I captured Akosua - it was a beautiful weather outside so we decided to continue shooting outside with the best lightning and I capture them with the insta c on a nd filter lens it really gave the models a warm undertone that matched the aesthetics of Don’ Touch My Hair.

Overall i am glad with my discovery channel of this amazing app it also features video cameras for any of my future projects definitely worth purchasing!
