Christopher Dallman introducing a brand new release: Digital Blue Remixed

November 2020 - Christopher Dallman is an artist, music producer and songwriter whose sound blurs the lines between the melodies of electro-pop and the energy of EDM. Recently, he set out to unleash a brand new release - a project titled “Digital Blue Remixed.” This is a collection of remixed versions of his previous studio work, “Digital Blue.” I am personally a big fan of remixes, especially because they provide the opportunity to listen to some of the music that you might be familiar with, but tackling it from a different perspective. It can be an amazing expansion on something you love to listen to, and it can also be a incredible opportunity for artists to collaborate with different producers and take their vision someplace else. It is amazing to hear how different some of the remixes can be, but also how direct they can end up sounding!

This is definitely the case of what’s happening on “Digital Blue Remixed” by the talented Christopher Dallman. He collaborated with two producers in order to make this happen, including Calibeats, as well as SIRPAUL, only to mention but a few. The former is an English producer hailing from Blackpool, UK. However, the latter comes from NYC. There is also room for two non-remixes, “I Don’t Wanna Be Alone” and “M.I.A.” - which were actually produced by Christopher himself

The songs on this album have multiple layers that really add life and character to it. I would highly recommend diving deeper into the original “Digital Blue” album as well, to get a better sense of where these songs actually come from and how these remixes changed up the vibe fo the original songs. However, these remixes are so good and accomplished that you don’t really need to compare these track with the original version. The EDM touch in these songs is killer, and as is often the case with remix projects, the tracks acquired an endearing dance-floor-friendly dimension. The beat is an absolute mastodon, with gigantic grooves, massive low-end and a crunchy top end that cuts right through the mix in every track. At the same time, the original melodies and amazing arrangement ideas still retained their freshness and energy . The melodies of the remixed versions of these tracks are really well-arranged, blooming seamlessly around the four-on-the-floor rhythm and allowing the main parts and the most recognizable melodic hooks to pop out at the forefront to the mix. Ultimately, I really think that Christopher’s songs actually come from a very personal place and feels very expressive. At the same time, his music is also very catchy and easy to relate to. I think that these remixed versions really captured these qualities, adding a bright new chapter to the artist’s discography. Very few artists can combine integrity and appeal so successfully,but it definitely feels like an easy task for Christopher, who makes with passion and vision. Another thing that’s worth mentioning is that I really love the fact that Christopher is putting out so much quality music. With this album and it’s original version, alone, the artist released 22 songs in one year alone - this is pretty massive considering that so many artists, big or small, actually drop a few singles a year to keep up with streaming trends. I love the more immersive listening experience of a full album, and we’re getting a super-in-depth experience here, not only with an original album that feels like a true musical journey, but also with an amazing counterpart, continuing that journey with some exciting remixes that keep the conversation going.
