The days are longer and temps are rising — that means it’s time to store away your slew of winter gear. (Hip, hip, hooray!). Store your winter faves like a pro with these quick tips.⁣ ⁣ 1. Consider rearranging. If you have a large closet, consider a quick rearranging. Move heavy winter coats and long-sleeve staples to the back and give your summer tanks, tees, and maxis the prime spot in your closet. 2. Purse and toss. If you haven’t worn something all winter, don’t go through the hassle of storing it. Donate items you no longer need to a local thrift store or trusted charity. 3. Prep for storage. Make sure your winter clothes are clean before putting them away. Check that storage totes or bags are airtight to reduce temperature damage or unwanted moths. 4. Store wisely. Choose a spot that is cool, dry, and away from direct sunlight. While the attic and basement are popular choices, a guest bedroom closet or under a king bed are also good options. ⁣ If you’re ready to say so-long to winter once-and-for-all (and who isn’t?), get those bulky sweaters and heavy coats put away — STAT.
