Augh so over on twitter and in the official vast error discord, people have shown interest in my evil ellsee/elleon au so i thought id make a post about it!! For the sake of this post, its more of a tldr/ref post about the au!! ^^

In essence, my au is essentially what if Ellsee tried to do an essential ritual midgame with the corrupted version of her book and it went Horribly Wrong(tm) and got her corrupted by Gaiaeon?

Thus creating: Elleon

WHO THE FUCK IS ELLEON?

Elleon is the result of that ritual gone wrong. She is essentially Ellsee, but corrupted by the Naught Father but with insane powers. His corruption is NOT a possesion; more like an infection. Her biggest changes is in behavior and appearance- at the end of the day, they're still Ellsee.

Elleon cannot use her staff; it was made for followers for Khepharia, so when a being corrupted by Gaiaeon tries to use it, the staff renders itself unusable.

The corruption gives her powers similar to the Gaiaeon, the most distinct being the power to influence, but not directly take control of a person. While under the Naught Father's influence, Ellsee’s frustrations are heightened, her impulse control is frighteningly low, and they're much more likely to act on their intrusive thoughts. Think of Gaiaeon's corruption as a parallel to Grimdark, but more fucked up looking. Elleon is completely unaware of her power to influence and completely thinks she's just more persuasive than previously thought.

Elleon is extremely bitter about all of the misfortunes they've endured, from Murrit's various murder attempts to Arcjec's amnesia to Occeus ignoring them, anything bad that's happened to them is all the more reason to go apeshit. Everyone who has hurt her WILL pay the price, and so will anyone who stands in her way- especially Murrit.

NO ONE GETS TORMENTED MORE THAN MURRIT HOLY SHIT. This is because her crime is by far the worse than the others. At somepoint, he attempts to kill Elleon again and all it does is piss them off bc yk. God Powers. It doesnt work.

Thus, the cast is divided- those Elleon is able to get on her side via Gaiaeon's influence (think spreading the infection, but to a much lesser extent), and those on Murrit's side, who wants to stop her and save their session. Those under Gaiaeon's influence are much less tolerant of those who have wronged them, so who better to convert to her side first and become her partner in crime than Calder Kerian.

Team Elleon: calder, dismas, albion, eventually sova and serpaz

Team Murrit: laivan, occeus, jentha, taz, arcjec

Team murrit largely spends time trying to get in contact with Khepharia (occeus+laivan), and jentha getting her radiation powers back in hopes to even out power. It doesn't work.

Important Note: those under Gaiaeon's influence via Elleon do not have powers nor any physical changes. They do, however, have a dark green haze over their pupils. This is moreso for artistic purposes to make it more clear who is and isn't under Gaiaeon's influence.

Calder and Elleon enter a moiraillegiance, becoming the best worst evil duo ever... until Elleon burns down his planet and he realizes this isn't what he wanted.

Calder in this AU is exhausted beyond belief from the pressures of his everyday life and wants it to end. When Elleon approaches Calder, they're on a cliff overlooking the Depths (angst writers, you're seen and Heard here). Elleon promises to make things better for the both of them and get his revenge. Because his planet is a hiding spot that Gaiaeon can't see and by extension, Elleon is weaker there, so she burns it down to give her opposers nowhere to hide. This act is Calder's breaking point, causing him to realize this isn't what he wants for anyone, let alone them, thus causing him to switch sides and help take her down.

Ultimately, the group who takes Elleon down is Arcjec, Occeus, and Calder, potentially Taz too but I don't have strong enough opinions on pitch Tazsee to include that canon ship. They play into Ellsee's true desires (occeus paying her attention, reconnecting with arcjec, etc), and with the help of Void Powers, get them back to normal. She does get knocked unconscious though from how much Elleon took out of her and is scarred to shit (ellsee 🤝 hunter: getting scarred to shit by evil thing)

For Calder angst likers, Calder does end up getting the blame for like. Most of Elleon's bs and saying the ritual went wrong because he was the last one who spoke to her before the ritual. (He told her to make the right decision as a form of encouragement bc in the situation, the ritual WAS essential but Ellsee was having doubts. Neither had anyway of knowing this would happen.) Ellsee clears his name when she wakes up and finds him on the same cliff as Elleon met him on and I'm leaving it up to yall whether or not she makes it in time ;] (personally, i love happily ever afters just as much as a destating loss, BUT. since calder is a cc of mine i lean fake out, looks too late, but he's actually fine and calsee win!)

OC tober Day Thirty One: Home

“...Why are you here?”

Calson and Calsee were, for the first time in millennia, alone together. More than that, for the first time in forever, they were home.

Calson stared down his friend. His heart was heavy, and his mind was clouded. She simply stared back, absolutely exhausted. 

“Why...I’m here.” Calson muttered, as if he were asking himself. “Why am I here?”

“Are you sorry? Do you regret it?” Calsee asked. Calson shook his head.

“No. Everything I did, I would do again.”

“Then why are you…?”

“The one thing,” he interrupted. “The one thing I regret is everything I did to you. I regret seeing you here...because of me. I regret hurting you, Calsee.”

She said nothing for a moment. Upon closer inspection, you could see that she was ever so slightly transparent, with all of her glow and power diminished. This was her sacrifice, the last thing she did before leaving. Now, instead of death, she was cursed to rest for years beyond time. 

Unless, someone were to take her place.

“...Is this how you’ll repent?” she asked. “You committed such atrocities for this planet. Are you truly so eager to abandon it all...for me?”

“Of course. It was always for you, Calsee. I love this planet, but it may as well burn if you are not on it.”

“I’ll leave. You know I’ll return to Rien once I wake up.”

“...Fine. That’s fine. I don’t care anymore.”

Looking at Calson, his essence had begun to fade as well. Despite his survival, he, too, was tired. Tired of living in a world with a war he’d lost. 

“I just need to rest. And you...you have something to do. People who need you.”

“Cal-”

“Please, don’t argue. Just let me set you free.”

Calsee exhaled. Despite herself, her face softened. 

“...I never needed you to do that. I just wanted you to be happy.”

Calson didn’t respond. Deep within himself, he knew that already.

OC tober Nineteen: Shadow

Telley felt like she was being watched. 

She always kinda felt like she was being watched, ever since she became the Child of Void. It was a part of the paranoia, the fear that anyone would betray her and take her to the guards. She’d grown accustomed to that feeling, learning to work around it and trust despite it. This, though...this was different. 

The closest way she could describe it was that her shadow had eyes. It sounded silly, like the fear of a small child, but it was the truth. Her shadow seemed bigger, darker, colder. It didn't match her movements, and something within it seemed to glow. It was weird. 

She thought back to that dream she had so long ago. A shadowy figure in the darkness, asking to be found. This feeling was the same. An uncertainty, a fear, but also a...comfort, maybe? A friend?

She stared at her shadow. It was just as still as she was, stretching over the wall of her apartment as it stared back at her. Without any other ideas, she did something.

“...I’ll find you. I know I haven’t yet, but I will. I promise.”

The shadow did not respond. Though, and maybe this was just her imagination, it did seem to shrink.

Member-Owned Community Solar Could Become Adopted on National Level

You might have heard of member-owned #community solar, and for good reason. It is about to potentially become even more popular. Only just commissioned via People Power is a 7 kilowatt #solar system, which services 50 special-purpose cooperative members. It is the first residential solar system in America that is cooperatively-owned and a brand new model, according to Oakland’s Sustainable Economies Law Center’s Director of the Community Renewable #Energy Program, Subin DeVar.  

Solar Moves in Oakland: Bringing Clean Energy to Market 

Oakland’s Sustainable Economies Law Center has offered support and legal services for the People Power project because of a grant from the California Energy Commission. The California Sustainable Energy Entrepreneur Development Initiative (CalSEED) provided the financing. The goal is to help entrepreneurs and innovators to bring clean energy concepts to market. This is an important move in the world of solar.  

The People Power coop is designed based on the objective to deliver electricity to customers at a lower rate than is usually charged by the local utility – we are talking about 15 percent savings. #SolarCity actually recently suggested a 15 percent savings to potential lessees prior to the company being bought by #Tesla.  

Community Solar: Creating Self-Reliant Communities 

The electricity from the People Power installation is used up by the duplex residences, which host the array. Surplus electricity is exported to PG&E under the present net metering standard. A return is provided to investors through the project. According to DeVar, business modeling, pre-development costs and planning costs for developing the coop were covered. He mentioned the importance of providing legal services which will promote self-reliant communities in regard to energy.  

In terms of community solar, other models include but are not limited to third-party-owned projects, utility-owned solar projects, and not-for-profit projects. So far, utility-owned community solar has spread very quickly, but without the involvement of a government subsidy, the incentive to offer electricity at a lower rate than non-solar electricity is merely not there.   

In a third-party-owned community #solar project, one usually has a situation in which the developer maintains ownership of generating assets and sells power to consumers under power purchase agreements (PPA’s). In this type of solar project, some residential customers might be involved. Unfortunately, often times, low-income residents are left out.  

With regard to the People Power coop, some low-income members participate, but without a continuing government subsidy, it tends to be difficult to include many low-income members in a community solar project. DeVar mentioned discussions taking place regarding consumers paying over a period of time instead of upfront in the event that they cannot otherwise afford to be a part of the community solar project. Basically, there is the clear notion that adopting clean energy is important, but it’s equally as important to get more people on board and financially able to participate.  

A Solar Expansion 

DeVar stated that the Sustainable Economies Law Center is thinking about replicating the People Power solar project model elsewhere in California, and possibly even outside of California.  

There is talk about adding more solar arrays within the People Power coop, too, including privately owned sites and residences. The Sustainable Economies Law Center is also thinking about deviations on member-owned community solar, for instance, situations in which a primary user might be a large anchor customer, such as a church or local business.  

In situations where consuming members are geographically spread, DeVar noted the possibility of virtual net metering for member-owned community solar.  

Going forward, it is very likely that the state of California will support more member-owned community solar and maybe, other financial partners could replace the role of a government subsidy.  

There are many things happening across the country in relation to solar power, specifically community solar projects. Following solar news always seems to reveal interesting stories which demonstrate how forward-thinking individuals and businesses alike happen to be. Imagine what could be done in your area if more people had the opportunity to go solar. Stay on top of solar news and consider small changes you could make daily to help improve and clean our planet. Think about the People Power Solar Cooperative in Oakland and how investments of up to $1,000 each from 50 plus community members have made such a difference.
