Guests shift in their seats, turning their attention to the center aisle. Hen and Karen beckon Nia, encouraging her to step forward from where she’s been waiting with Chris. He gives her an encouraging nudge that makes her giggle, a light and joyous sound that reminds Eddie so much of Chris when he was that age. She toddles forward on adorably chubby legs, carrying a basket in one hand, the other happily curling around her poofy skirt and scrunching the fabric between tiny fingers.

She makes it most of the way on her own, dutifully throwing handfuls of petals, taking her job as flower girl quite seriously. At least until she spies Denny and stops to blow kisses at her big brother. Before anyone else moves, he slips from his chair to assist her, making it abundantly clear that no one else is needed to proudly escort his foster sister the rest of the way.

Nia holds the basket up, offering it to him with a ‘Denny help’ that comes out more like a direction than a question. She beams at him when he hunches over, helping her sprinkle the remaining petals until they reach the end of the aisle.

Hen and Karen welcome the duo back to their seats, smiling and kissing their cheeks and pulling them close. It’s impossible for Eddie not to feel like he’s close to bursting with all the love surrounding them.

Do you have any hc's for when Chris finally tells Eddie about the drowning woman in his pictures?

Hi Nonnie!

I'm not really comfortable analyzing/theorizing/creating HCs when it comes to any of the kids as I don't write for the characters played by minors beyond the occasional mention or cameo. This means Christopher, Harry, Denny, and Nia. It's a little different with Jee since she's played by multiple babies and dolls so we have more character than actual person but once she gets older the rule will apply to her as well.

I'd be happy to answer an ask about any of the characters played by adults though so if you think of anything let me know!
