After seeing the video of the winner of The Voice singing Anyone (which is not Camila's version, I think) I kept thinking about one thing.

Is it really known why Camila had to sell the song to JB? Is there an official version about it? Because I don't remember. All that comes to my mind is having read that Camila had to do it to leave other songs on the album, probably First Man which is a leaked song and therefore shouldn't have gone on the Romance album and that My Oh My was a last minute addition. Or the MV, I think.

But a real reason behind it?

Because we know it's a special song and having a contestant from The Voice sing it in front of Camila was a shock

Camila's face at the beginning of Kate's presentation was a fucking poem and then she was the only one who enjoyed the performance dancing standing up, because fuck, it was her song she was listening to.

A very meaningful song that talks about loving someone so much that you would not want anyone else in your life if it is not that person you love.

And it's funny because in real life, you can have more than one love and be happy with other people, but there will always be that love that, even if you are happy with other people, will always mark your life. And if it's the first it's even more intense.

Hola a todos.

Quería esperar a que terminara The Voice y el desempeño de Morgan para hacer esto.

Como sabrán, la etapa de Camila como coach en The Voice ha llegado a su fin y, a juzgar por su despedida (ver video abajo), es muy probable que no regrese (y más considerando la tendencia que se suele hacer en estos reality shows). No obstante, eso no quita de que Camila haya soltado pistas de su situación actual en muchos aspectos (prueba de ello fue lo que hizo por medio de “Happy Together” de The Turtles) y en este post lo vamos a analizar metódicamente.

Antes que nada, quisiera agradecer a @stuckinapatriarchalbullshitland por darme la idea de hacer esto y ayudarme a analizarlo. Sin nada más, comencemos…

1) Primera presentación del lunes: Total Eclipse of the Heart (https://twitter.com/NBCTheVoice/status/1602495624250675201).

Creo que, a estas alturas, todos sabemos de qué se trata este tema de Bonnie Tyler, por lo que no es de mera casualidad que se escogiera para que Morgan la cante. La letra de la canción y su traducción la pueden ver en este enlace: https://www.letras.com/bonnie-tyler/33/traduccion.html, por lo que se resumirá lo que canción dice: Aquí se habla de: la soledad, el cansancio de tanto llorar, el refugio en una mirada, la noche, el continuar hasta el final, el amor en las sombras/en la oscuridad, las ganas de soltar destellos, quiebres personales y el eclipse (hasta se menciona en el título de la canción).

Si lo ponemos en el contexto semiótico antes hablado, lo que Camila nos quiere decir es que está sola (internamente hablando), que ya no quiere seguir haciendo más PRs o la clase de actos que no la benefician en nada, que tenga que estar ocultando su evidente homosexualidad, las ganas de encontrar consuelo en los hermosos ojos de ya saben quién, el elemento que la caracteriza, el hecho de no separarse por más maniobras que les impongan, la única ocasión en la que se pueden amar debidamente, el soltar esta clase de pistas, la depresión que ha admitido que padece (y sigue padeciendo) y el símbolo que caracteriza su romance.

2) Segunda presentación del lunes: Girl Crush (https://twitter.com/NBCTheVoice/status/1602497545074114560).

He leído en un comentario en Twitter que esta es “la canción country más lésbica que hay” y se le puede dar la razón; sin embargo, este tema de Little Big Town también resalta lo que Camila quiere transmitir (hasta no tiene tapujos en soltarlo). Al igual que el caso anterior, la letra y su traducción las pueden ver en este enlace: https://www.songstraducidas.com/letratraducida-Girl_Crush_585236.htm, por lo que vamos a lo que dice la canción: Aquí se habla de una atracción a una mujer, de querer lo que ella tiene, sonrisa de medianoche, besos, perfume, cabello largo, no duerme ni tiene paz, pensamientos en ella, bajo las sábanas, Dios como testigo, abstención, que esto no para (aunque hubo un momento en el que sí) y resaltar el término you (tú/ustedes).

Si lo ponemos en el contexto semiótico antes hablado, lo que Camila nos quiere decir es que enfatiza su homosexualidad, poder tener virtudes que ella posee, resalta dos factores en uno solo de su chica, detalles estéticos que la diferencian, las consecuencias más profundas de tenet que lidiar con los PRs y otros actos, que siempre pensará en ella, la intimidad que ellas tienen, sus confesiones, las veces en las que tiene que controlar su comportamiento frente a otras mujeres (y que le es imposible hacerlo), que su vínculo sigue (aunque hubo un momento en el que el rumbo se ralentizó) y el hecho de ser alguien que nosotros conocemos.

While I like the dress, I don’t think this was a whole outfit. Camila looked great, but there’s no accessories that added anything to the look. She got her hair and makeup done and it looks like she just threw on a dress. With the strapless dress I think she could’ve added a necklace and some bracelets. The dress was fun and interesting, but as whole the look was lacking.
