Am I going to play Hidden Adventure over and over bc a) I want to rewatch the rollercoaster Darius and Kenji scene until I have it memorized and b) I can't let my kids go yet? Yes. Yes, I will.

One of the funniest things about the Camp Cretaceous Interactive Adventure I've seen no one talk about yet, is that when the fam first gets in the gyro spheres, Ben and Darius crash into Sammy and Yaz, Yaz yells at Darius for being a reckless driver. But really, Ben was the one driving! And Darius just takes it, like they both look guilty, but Ben lets him take the blame!

Also, they don't dare correct Yaz when she's angry.

YES hypothesis confirmed!

See, the problem with Isla Nublar (and Sorna’s) ecosystems is an overabundance of large predators while still maintaining a robust population of herbivores. One of the solutions to this conundrum, however, is the existence of Monolophosaurus. Monolophosaurus is a smaller predator which would thrive on hunting baby dinosaurs--or really small dinosaurs, like Compsognathus and Microceratus.

Compies have no shortage of food on the island: rats, carcasses, and of course, dino dung. So very much dino dung. They can probably reproduce quickly, meaning that there could easily have been over a hundred when the park collapsed, and a thousand six months in...there’s no end to their flocks, and there’s no way an apex predator like Rexy would be able to hunt them (Toro and the Ceratosaurs are also much too large and slow to bother with them). 

This is where Blue and Monolophosauus thrive.

They eat the compies, meaning they don’t have to hunt, say, Gallimimus or baby dinosaurs. This allows the baby dinosaurs to grow into juvenile dinosaurs, or to be snacks for Ceratosaurus or Baryonyx...and also allows the Monolophosaurs to thrive.

Who then, as we see above...make fine snacks for the BIGGER carnivores. 

Monos are said to be loners and isolated (as Darius observes from this and brings up in a later episode!!!). They are also nowhere near as cunning or agile as Blue--making them easier prey. Ultimately, this povides the carnivores with enough food in its own branch of the web...meaning that a young Parasaurolophus gets to live another day, growing larger to feed a hungry T. Rex, meaning she doesn’t have to kill an adult, leaving the adult alive to guard and raise more babies. 

IT’S A BALANCED, FUNCTIONAL ECOSYSTEM!!!

If Camp Cretaceous Hidden Adventure has taught me anything, its that the campers only survived by ignoring Kenji’s input😭

Just finished the Interactive Episode!! Here are some of my thoughts:

OH MY GOD

When I tell you the opening credits and theme was enough to make my heart go all mushy. I MISSED THESE KIDS SMM

Yaz going off on Darius in the gyro scene 💀 SHE WAS SO PISSED. Def one of my favorite parts of the episode

And then sammys just sitting behind her all wide-eyed

Literally the whole gyro scene reminded me of "The Cattle Drive" (one of my favorite episodes from S1) and again, my heart went all mushy

every single dynamic was so FUN. Kenji and Darius having the brotherly best-friends dynamic was awesome. They're the brothers ever.

And then Darius's "ear" joke (I did laugh at that a little)

The fact that no one knew who Owen Grady was besides Darius was funny as hell 😭

the whole drum-roll scene made me smile so hard

I actually did a good job at keeping the kids alive- on my first try, I kept dying at the code part, because I was looking WAY too into it. But that's the only time they died (still not gonna get over it for weeks)

Honestly, both the rollercoaster and the car ride routes were fun. Had a blast playing both! I picked the rollercoaster one first cause I like rollercoasters lmao. Also I really didn't expect the car route to be an actual ride, but it was super cool

The scene in the rollercoaster route where Sammy and Yaz look at eachother and then start smiling and laughing 😞

I REALLY hope they do another interactive episode, or maybe even something like a follow-up set in Dominon

Just seeing the kids back was so great- Did I mention how much I missed them??

OK so I've done the cc hidden adventure twice (once with sibs once with dad) and that scene on the lil car ride when Yas says "I actually love rides like this" and Sammy goes "Me too!" Absolutely adorable

It is now canon in my eyes that the kids would all go to a theme park someday and while they'd go on the big rides the two would also enjoy all the calm little rides

Hidden adventure was an 8/10, literally so good but missing two marks for no shipping fuel for either of the ships 😅
