Ngl the whole "She wld have ripped national city apart at it seams" was ..truly life changing and I liked it so so much I screenshotted that part of the fic so I can look back on it wherever I am when I want that extra OOF to my heart. Its like I know Kara loves Lena and would do anything for her but to know she would have absolutely gone ape shit and berserk if anything happened to Lena? Lena trying to escape but slipped down the cliff and Kara just swoppong in because she heard her scream? And Kara not being on speaking terms with Alex and even using her sueprgirl status as leverage to protect Lena? Kara choosing Lena over absolutely any and everyone? Kara making sure others KNOW she is ready and willing to choose Lena over them? Can u even imagine how Lena feels knowing Kara has her back like that? Like sure the whole lying thing caused a strife but I imagine Lena would probably be shook to her core to see Kara defending her with everything she's got.
God, I love that fic so much every part was screenshot worthy tysm for ur service ur a hero I cantlrave enough kudos
nobody look at me im losing my shit

like four days ago, someone asked me to talk more about the stn and myiy playlists and i finally finished the post about it. so here. be warned, it is long.
i will use this opportunity to talk about what lynne and i like to call the “OG” stn and myiy songs. these are songs that we feel are the VERY MOST stn or myiy, and together would make the short forms of the playlists. the distillations as it were of these playlists that best represent the fics.
WE BEGIN
stn:
waves - miguel and kacey musgraves. amazing, spectacular, all about the very sensual sex that they get up to - but also very intimate. u know, they have a connection that goes deeper than sex that i think is clear in how good their sex turns out to be.
unforgettable - french montana. has always been to me a kara in the club song like a little bit drunk flirting with some girl and then texting lena like a classic ‘u up.’ it’s another intimate, sexy song that i think is very them. i also love the line ‘i gotta give it to her like we in a marriage’
passionfruit - drake. another club, intimate, sexy song. stn to me is about kara and lena just constantly circling around each other over and over because u know. they’re soulmates. and this song has a very circular work to it that i think works really well for the mood of this fic. also ‘i think we should rule out commitment for now cuz we’re falling apart’
i feel it comin’ - jillian jacqueline. i mean, it’s about sex, but it’s about knowing someone, too - knowing when someone is about to come is like a really sensual thing i guess and its intimate and u know. u get the deal. its them. ‘we don’t have to rush when you’re alone with me’
stay the night - jukebox the ghost. the OG song named stn on the playlist, a very fun romp of a song. probably the other half of this fic to me - kara and lena also have a lot of fun and are very flirtatious. some other songs on the playlist like walk the moon are of this family too. i think its obvs how this song interacts with the fic
more than you know - axwell /\ ingrosso. is a kara song, has always been a kara song. was an original song on the warm up playlist but moved over to the stn main because i think its lyrical content bears out. ‘come a little closer let me taste your smile until the morning light’ honestly kills me!
i watched you slip - panama. was an og song on the playlist for the eventual breakup phase that we saw at the end of stn5. i also think it reflects to the deepening of their relationship and understanding of each other, kara talking about her family and lena also talking about her family.
one foot - walk the moon. i’ve actually really thought of this as a lucy and alex song and if lynne and i were ever to get their story out there, this song would probably give its title. but it has relevance for kara in particular too.
sign - vhs collection. another og breakup song, another really the hard work of being in love with someone. reminds me of when kara talks to lena about her parents and they just hug? honestly this makes me cry just to think about.
tropics - mantaraybryn. there’s a subset of songs on this playlist about being in california and making out. this is one of them. the sort of longing quality of this song also works very well for the fic. ‘you’re breaking a smile, and i’m changing the pace’
i fall apart - post malone. has always been a post breakup song as well. it was all here on the playlist ALL ALONG.
your song - rita ora. it’s a sweet love song. i don’t know. it makes me smile. ‘we were way up kissing in the back of the cab, and you said hey love, come back to my flat’
all the stars - kendrick lamar and sza. a mood song. no other way to describe it. some of these songs on the playlist are just songs i can close my eyes and imagine them driving around national city in the range rover with the windows down.
thief - ansel elgort. this is all because of the fan video with the same song.
love lies - khalid and normani. another post breakup song that has also been a dark club somewhat drunk song for me for a while.
carly rae jepsen - favourite colour. this song was given to the playlist by lynne herself and its a BANGER and REAL!!!!!
back to you - selena gomez. another song that i think is really about how cyclical and circular they run around and around each other. they’re soulmates. its chill but its fine.
MYIY
adore - amy shark. a killer lena song, connected totally to the scenes of them pretty early in college but specifically the party scene early on in the fic.
can you tell - ra ra riot. this song i actually gave to lynne when we first started flirting and it’s so a sweet lena song like, i’m kind of really into you. one of the key things about myiy to me is that they do meet when they’re really young and have to grow into an adult relationship (they’re still working on it). but they do still have a quality of like two people who met young and are just like that still sometimes. they’re sweet.
abc - alexander fairchild. one of my very favorite true love songs on the playlist.
first time - vance joy. a big fave of mine, reminds me so much of them just being together at college and like. riding bikes. i don’t know. it’s a pure ass sunny love song and i would die for them.
let’s get married - bleachers. one of my very favorite songs. when lynne told me why she wanted it on the playlist for the first time i laid down on our kitchen floor and cried.
she’s casual - the hunna. absolute killer of a myiy song. when we listen to myiy in the car lynne demands we listen in order and so i ask where she wants to start and she always says this song. it’s a great song for both of them, and i think it really shows some measure of the desperation they feel for each other, as it were.
scared - delta rae. this song KILLLLLLLLS me. it’s a song for both of them, and it’s just - really emotional. you can really feel the fear i guess, and it’s a great breakup song. the premise of myiy really relies on how much they were really wrapped into each other by the time they broke up and i think this song really shows how invested they are. “i’m sorry, i loved you, but even those words are getting see through” is an a+ lyric.
looking too closely - fink. made it onto this playlist because it was in a fanvid that made me cry. is a great like, sitting in the dark drinking wine song, LENA.
without you - oh wonder. this song was one of the very first songs on the playlist and is the emotional crux of their breakup portion on the playlist - all of the oh wonder songs are meant to be benchmarks for different parts of their love story. it was, i believe, the song lynne suggested to give the fic its title. i rejected it and she still complains about it. i wanted the title to come from “fountain of youth” which is like four songs down.
dearly departed - shakey graves. one of MY fave songs, a great thumper of a lena song. i think it really speaks to how lena just like. know she’s the one who fucked it all up. “you and i both know that the house is haunted, well, you and i both know that the ghost is me”
let’s be happy - fire chief charlie. this is a great sad circa like ch5-6 song - totally the sort of precipice of getting back together, wanting each other so bad and willing to let go of the past to move into the future. “and if i say hello again, let it be for the last time.”
tiger teeth - walk the moon. every fucking inch of this song is so myiy i nearly died when i heard it for the first time. it is TEXTBOOK. the slow beautiful beginning, the like hymnal quality of the music and synth. it’s all there. it’s perfection. truly. and it’s just so them - they just love each other SO. MUCH. “when you swallow someone whole, you are bound to choke / well i guess we could never be friends, i ate you up the day we first spoke” honestly. i die.
the last of the real ones - fall out boy. this song is right at the beginning of the full weight of the back half of the season, essentially, when the drama of the fic becomes more external than internal (aka will they get back together). this song is really for the both of them, but it’s a fun adventurey fight song that i love. i like the sense of grandeur it gives them.
sand and lead - neiked and brolin. this song is one of my favorite songs about kara. “i’ll take the wheel if you do the pedals” is one of my fave lines. it’s just about, to me, exhaustion and the toll of being a superhero and stuff and getting the chance to be with lena and how that helps kara.
the lightning strike (what if this storm ends) - snow patrol. there are a few songs on this playlist that i’ve loved for a long time and have been looking for an excuse to put on a playlist. myiy runs enough of an emotional gamut that i have p much free reign. this song is one of those songs - a totally epic, edge of the precipice song. it’s great for storming into battle, and probably some daxamite nonsense. who knows.
heroes - peter gabriel. another endgame drama song, totally amazing, made me cry the first time i heard it, yes i cry a lot if you’ve read this far. i heard it and immediately knew it was a myiy song, knew exactly what it was for.
may i have this dance - francis and the lights. this song makes me HAPPY. it’s so sweet, a nice sunshine after the rain type song to help close out the playlist into ultra life which is the IDEAL song to end on. it’s just about dancing and happiness. “let me stay and excite you / we are bound to inherit the sins of our parents” so on so forth. they fucking love each other.

The Mon El hate:
This is storytelling for crying out loud...they explained a zillion times they wanted to do it with Kara but she already started as Supergirl... U know, character construction, development, hero's journey? For tv is boring to put a guy there that can be a hero out of nowhere... So they did the classic: have this guy that was all wrong, all flawed and they transformed him...little by little he learns his ways were wrong, that there is an option of doing good and get to know love...haters needs to stop with the nonsense and think: if they were born in a place that people drugged themselves so they wouldn't feel anything, a place that love was non existent, that ur parents taught u to be oppresive and that ur whole planet had slaves and it was ok to have them...and if u got to a new planet, that is totally different from urs, u first reaction would do the right thing? He did nothing horrible on Earth, once he learned the right things, he felt bad for being how he was, ashamed and was willing to make things right. He stood up against his parents and helped save the world by sacrificing his life on earth and his love, going God knows where... Haters just stick to the fact aboit who he once was...they ignore everything he learned, how he grew as a person...how he regrets who he was...they ignore it all and hold his past against him...with that I can presume all haters are saints, they were born knowing it all, never made a single mistake in life, never had personal growth and God forbid people next to them that are not perfect like they are. They will hate them as they hate Mon El because clearly for those folks, people can't have a bad past and try to be a better person...no one can be redeemed, can get better in those folks' eyes ... 😒
And btw: we have so many characters in Arrowverse that did shitty things in life but got redeemed / grew as person and got better as heroes...why people hate Mon El this much? We had a guy that cheated on his gf with her sister, we have an ex league of assassins members as heroes now, we had two criminals becoming heroes and getting redemption (one of them set his family ON FIRE), Alex killed Kara's aunt, J'onn lied for years before revealing he was a Martian, Winn's father is a criminal, Lenas is sister of one of the most cruel villains in DC verse and her mom is a psycho that wants all aliens dead. Why only Mon El gets hate for doing (less shitty things than most of them) or for having awful family??? double standards much? People can give the excuses they want but we all know why: because he is a man and many wants kara to date Lena... To them, Mon El existence is a threat to their beloved delusional shipp...guess what? If it wasn't him it would be Brainiac 5 (in justice league unlimited, Kara meets him and 5 seconds later says she is in love...he lies to her to protect her, she still kisses him and ask to leave the justice league and to go away with him, to the future. She leaves everyone behind and goes away with him)... People should be glad they actually took time with them...imagine following the original so faithfully??? 😂
It's annoying how haters has nothing to complain about him this season...HE IS NOT EVEN ON IT YET, but still they can't stop talking and complaining about him.
😒

Hi! 💙 I hope your are doing well. Congrats on the article. The reading will probably be okay. Are you a fast or slow reader? I read rather slowly, especially if I'm enjoying what I'm reading. It sticks with me better that way, but it takes me longer to do things. 😅 My semester ends next week, then have finals period. l'm taking Summer courses tho to get ahead. I get what you mean. I don't party, but around TH and F there's a certain restlessness about some of the students to drink/part. (Pt 1)
Ugh, I hate group work. 😐 Best of luck to you. Maybe your for a decent group. Anyway, I prefer morning courses. I get up at an obnoxiously early time to attend though. I’m fine with it though because it lets me take my courses in a block with out breaks, so once I’m done, I’ll be done for the day. 😥 Probably an unpopular schedule though. Oh, so My Immortal can actually be constructive to writers. That makes sense. It’s what a writer shouldn’t ever do. About JK, I think it’s an attempt (pt 2)(pt 3) Lowkey don’t recall my train of thought..Anyway, wow, I definitely agree with your statements about Lena knowing Kara’s dual identity. Snapper knowing wouldn’t help anything, since he’s too minor a character to do anything useful with information. Lena knowing would create more depth, tension, plot possibilities etc., which is why’d it would be a shame for her to be left in the dark. Also, I feel her not knowing (or at least theorizing Kara’s supergirl) is ooc. I suppose the writers– –haven’t had an issue with that based on what they’ve done to Alex. :-/ Hmph. I’m still so annoyed about that. Partially, because I’m a SuperCorp shipper, but mainly because it’s an insult to Alex’s personality to force her to advocate on Mon El’s behalf. Who was your favorite character from S1, btw? I’d probably go with Kara, but for S2 it’s definitely Lena. Anyway, yes Lena looks so amazing in the trailer! Heh, I intended it to be a soft FMK…I was going to make it all Katie, but wasn’t–(4)–words, words, something, but wasn’t going to be that cruel to you. (Hopefully that fit with my previous thing). Smh, you’ve no qualms though do you? ;-) I’m kidding. Your answers were well thought out…even though you didn’t kill anyone. I can’t blame you though. I don’t think Red K! Kara is all that bad, but she’s definitely intimidating, so is Kate. Anyway, let’s see FMK: Lena, Morgana, and Kate… :-/ 3 M'kay, that’s hard, especially since I love them all and ship SuperCorp. (5 TBC)–words, words, something, but wasn’t going to be that cruel to you. (5 TBC)(6) Uh, let’s see. I’m going to assume they are all brought to current times, so the 21st century. I would marry Morgana. You know what? I’d marry Morgana S1 or S5 because I’ve so many emotions for her and what she went through. I’d want her to know someone would be on (*cough* and by *cough*) her side. Also, she has magic that’s cool, but not the point. I don’t really want Supergirl to kill me or be sad. I wouldn’t kill Lena as of now; she’s not done anything wrong. Also, her company is (TBC)(8?) So, yes: M:Morgana, F: Lena, K: Kate. Hmm, I see yours and raise you: FMK: Lucy, she’s a vampire now but has some control over it | Kara Danvers, more so S1 in personality, but she’s still elects to become a reporter and encourages you | Lena, before she met Kara and is still learning to be a CEO…I guess that’s a younger!Lena? Idk. Okay, that should work. I hope you have a good day and night. Do you read comics? I don’t, but was curious if you did. U seem to know some lore. :-)
Heyyy! I’m not so sure I’m a fast or slow reader, it depends on my state of mind, if I take my meds and external interruptions. Usually I can read pretty fast if it’s something I’m interested in but I tend to miss things and have to read it again, with school things I’m the worst. I still have things from last year that I never got around to read and one of them was about superman (I miss studying cinema because we could have an entire class about superman and co and then write fanfiction of the world as an activity). We don’t have summer classes here, that sounds interesting, it’d be nice to get ahead, also it’s about to be winter here so after July we’ll get maybe a month off and then it’s back to being unresponsible adults. I’ve nothing against drinking and partying, I like drinking (parties are usually weird but sometimes it’s cool) but don’t freaking leave class to do it, go after the class, how disrespectful is it to leave the poor teacher there waiting 20 minutes to see if the rest of the class will show up or they’ll have to do with six or seven people? Also you pay over 1.000 bucks a month to study and you don’t give a shit about being in class? it’s throwing money away and it’s disrespectful to whoever is paying school, even if that someone is yourself. I’m not those kids that say you should only do what’s right and never skip class never drink or do anything because you have to study instead of throwing your life away. But school is expensive and respect is something you should have for everyone (unless someone is a jerk, because it’s not murder if the person is a jerk…jk)
I never liked studying in the mornings but it’s sort of better, however, my classes only exist at night, there is morning journalism classes, but it’s in another neighborhood and we have to cross the bridge and there’s no cool campus. I like my campus.
group projects are the worst. They end friendships, they end marriages, they end happiness, they lead to murder… it’s never fun. I always imagine that scene with the guy getting pizza and coming back to the place on fire and people bleeding, or that one from Mean Girls with the fighting over Aaron Samuels in animal style. Those are the only representations of group projects that are realistic.
I love how you just started to talk about JK, had two words in and
Honestly Alex has been so ooc this season it’s almost sad. No offense to Sanvers, but I think even that relationship is a bit ooc. Not the fact that there is a relationship but how it is being handled. Not gonna go into it cuz I don’t want to rant here. but I would ship Sanvers if they had put a bit more of effort into getting them together not ‘I don’t want a baby gay rn, so let’s be friends. PSYCHE I just got shot in the most harmless area of my entire body, let's make out!’
The same Alex that thought James wasn’t good enough for Kara and decked Maxwell Lord for existing would never make excuses for someone that is basically the dumb alien version of Lord with worse hair and more aggression and more pretending to be a #goodguy who’s just trying so hard and changed because after 9 months on earth as a grown man he decided to read a book, feed himself and clean his own mess… or pretend to clean his own mess while Kara actually does it and he just sits there and says she’s annoying because she doesn’t want to run away from her problems. (hey look, ranting… she said with surprise in her voice for some reason)
My favorite character was definitely Cat… and Kara. Both at the same time, I can’t choose between them, please don’t make me. and now it’s Lena… and still Kara even though she’s basically dead inside and that girl who cries because her boyfriend is moving away and it will destroy her life because that person she knows nothing about and met 9 months ago when he tried to kill her and has been lying to her and shoving her self-esteem down ever since is apparently the most important person in her life and she can’t live without him. he cooked her breakfast so he can’t move away and face his responsibilities, she’s the best thing he’s ever known, not person, thing. That woman in the best thing… god, this is so gross I cannot continue even to joke about this. so yeah, Kara is SUPER ooc this season, but I still love her and have faith she will recover from this terrible illness and come back to us, I miss her.
Yes! I would totally still marry Morgana even season 5 Morgana. poor thing just needs a hug and a friend to tell her she’s not a monster for being born different. I might start crying now so I’ll change topics.
Definitely Marry Kara, no questions asked. Fuck Lena because, I mean, just look at her. And Kill Lucy, my poor bby, but she’s a vampire so she has to go, control or not, ‘vegetarian’ vampires are dumb.
I do read comics, not as much as I’d like, but I also watched all of the DC cartoons (minus Legion because it looks dumb) most of Smallville and Lois & Clark and when I want to know some more I read about the storylines and all, like even when I don’t read the comic itself, I read about the comic. I won’t say I know all about everything, but I can hold my ground, I guess, I’m also not above admitting I don’t know/haven’t read enough about one subject/character and reading about that on one of the sites I trust. Also watched a lot of Marvel cartoons and most of the movies aaaand I read a lot of Marvel comics, specially Balck Widow, Hawkeye, and Young Avengers.
Did you watch any superhero cartoons? They were a pretty big deal in the 90′s and early 2000′s.
Hope you have a great day and night 💙😊

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 7 Review
Name: Supergirl season 2 episode 7
Release date: November 21, 2016
Run Time: ~44 minutes
Rating: 3 stars
--REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION--
Today's episode starts off with one of my least favorite things: starting in the middle of a story just for a teaser, and then jumping back earlier to explain everything. This instance, Hank hits Kara through a wall.
But, then we almost immediately jump back to 24 hours earlier, so... what exactly is the point?
James and Winn join Kara and Alex at the bar. Winn is excited to be there, and exclaims over how good the chicken wings are, but Kara asks if he's sure that it's actually chicken, which disgusts him. (Hey, it IS an alien bar!) They jump into a discussion about The Guardian, because the TV behind the bar is playing a news story about it. As you might imagine, James and Winn are very pro Guardian, for obvious reasons. However, Kara isn't exactly thrilled about the idea of a vigilante. She cites Superman as a source, saying that he once worked with a vigilante who had a lot of gadgets, but too many demons. (And we all know who that is!)
Also, as they talk, for some unholy reason, we get flashbacks of the things James and Winn did as the Guardian and his backup. Ugh.
Maggie shows up to change the topic, and she asks if Alex is okay, because she hadn't heard from her in a few days. Alex brushes this off, citing work as keeping her busy. She's obviously beyond hurt over what happened, and just wants to move on and hide her shame. But it's hard to do that when Maggie keeps showing up.
Alex goes back to the table, and asks where Mon-El is, since he seems to practically live at the bar. Kara starts listing off any number of women that he could be with, and asks what the male version of a floozie is: A daxomite!
Meanwhile, Mon-El is being held in a cell in CADMUS. He tries to talk to the guard, and when he sees the man's wedding ring, he says “I recently learned of an earth custom: If you like it then you should put a ring on it. I see that you were successful with that.” He then calls the guard's wife “a dog”, which makes the guard understandably angry, and he points his gun at Mon-El. Mon-El then uses this opportunity to free himself and tries to escape, but more guards show up with... Hank? Hank begs Mon-El to escape, but Mon-El obviously wants to help his friend out, and allows himself to be recaptured.
Some time later, or maybe occurring at the same time, Meg comes to Hank in his office with something in a thermos. She says that it's some old Martian recipe, and she used ghost peppers to try and mimic some Martian plant. He accepts it and says that his grandmother used to make them drink it when they were sick. He then sees his wife and daughters on the other side of the room, and quickly says that he has a lot of things to do.
Meanwhile, because this episode clearly does not have enough going on, we get James and Winn, taking down another bad guy. James leaves the guy strung upside down from a lamp post, but after they leave, somebody else comes along and kills the guy James left literally hanging. Dun-dun-DUUUN!
However, the next morning, James hears from some random lady at Cat Co that Guardian is a killer. He's confused, so he goes to ask Kara's new direct boss (who I would like to remind everybody, has barely been on recently) what's going on. He shows James the video footage of what happened, except that you can't really see the person who shot the guy, only that he was shot. James denies that it was The Guardian (because, duh), but the guy says that James is too close to the situation. He then goes on to actually spell it out for James, because he's clearly not understanding where Snapper is coming from: He's BFF's with Superman, and he has a blindspot when it comes to other superheroes.
Winn comes in just then, and they immediately leave to discuss what they should do about this. Rather than to hang up the costume and to never speak of this again, James decides that the best thing that they can do would be to catch whoever is responsible for killing the guy and turn him in. Because of course.
And now, we're back to Hank and Kara. Kara walks in on Hank practicing tai chi, which he says he learned from some monk in the 1800's. (Also, dang, he old! I mean, I knew that he WAS old, but I hadn't realized how much of his time had been spent on earth...) Kara asks if he's still feeling sick from Parasite, but Hank says that he's been seeing his dead wife and children. Kara then tells him that when she first came to earth, she used to see her parents everywhere. One day, she was crying in her room, and Eliza came in to comfort her. Kara yelled at her to leave, but she refused, and told Kara that so long as Kara remained alive, her parents would live with her. And then they hugged, and it was the first real bonding moment between the two of them. Kara tells Hank that just because he has Meg in his life does not mean that he should or will forget about his family. It's a really beautiful and touching moment.
And now, back to James and Winn. Their plan is to stop a drug deal that they've heard about, so they head over there to take them down. The other guy shows up, and I'm really confused, because one look at this other guy and you would instantly know that it's not The Guardian. Anyway, they fight, and it's OMG so dramatic U GAIS!! However, the other guy lets one of the two men run off, which'll be important later. However, the police show up just as the other guy runs off, which means James is sort of cornered.
Kara is on her way to deal with The Guardian, when she receives a message from CADMUS. Lilian tells Kara that she's got Mon-El, and that she'll kill him if Kara doesn't come. Oh, and if Kara tells anybody, then she's going to kill Mon-El. So, Kara goes off to deal with that instead.
She gets to the location, where she's attacked by Hank, which brings us full-circle to the three-second teaser from the beginning of the episode. See? What exactly was the point of that? I hate that. They should have just kicked off the episode with The Guardian, and then gone forward to them at the bar, talking about it. Anyway, Kara guesses that it's the real Hank Henshaw, the one who was supposed to have died that day in the jungle with Jeremiah Danvers. However, as they continue to fight, it turns out that it's not Hank, but actually, Cyborg Superman. Um... okay?
The next day, Alex is worried about Kara, because it's not like her to go without communicating anything. Also, she was supposed to have helped with The Guardian the night before, and that also isn't like her. She tells this to Winn, who asks that Alex stop focusing on The Guardian. Alex then gets suspicious, presses Winn up against a wall, and threatens him. However, I doubt that she means him any real harm, mainly because he's such a wussy, and he instantly panics and blurts out that The Guardian is James. Alex is surprised about this, but then understands where Winn is coming from, because James would never knowingly murder somebody. (Maybe set the ball rolling, and not directly, but yeah.)
And back to the actual Supergirl plot, Kara is thrown into a cell next to where Mon-El is being held. They talk for a bit, and I don't care, and it doesn't matter anyway, because we move on quickly.
Alex talks to Maggie to tell her to drop the Guardian case, but then when Maggie asks why, Alex says that it's “classified”. Maggie is hurt, because they're friends, and they normally share this kind of info with one another. However, Alex turns on Maggie, and gives this big, grand speech. She said that she only had the courage to confront her sexuality as well as to come out to Kara because she thought that Maggie would have returned her feelings. And instead, Maggie went around and crushed Alex so painfully, and that really fucking sucks. And Alex doesn't think that they can even be “friends” at this point. Maggie is clearly stunned, but Alex just walks away.
Alex goes back to the DEO, where she tries to ask Hank if he's heard from Kara, because she hasn't heard from her all day. Hank says no, but then he looks over towards the big window where Kara normally flies in through, and sees a White Martian. He pulls out his gun, and Alex tries to talk him down. The hallucination goes away, and instead, it's just a regular DEO agent, who's probably just about pissing his pants because his boss just pulled a gun on him. Hank then turns to Alex and asks her to run some tests on him.
Back at CADMUS, Lilian finally reveals herself to Kara, and Kara realizes that she's Lena's mom. Blah-blah-blah, tragic backstory, Superman betrayed Lex, cool backstory, still murder, you guys get the drill. She then tells Kara that she wants Kara to drain her powers, or she'll shoot Mon-El. Then, to prove that she isn't bluffing, she has one of her men shoot Mon-El in the leg. He isn't bulletproof like Kara, and... well, he reacts like anybody would when fucking shot in the leg. Kara obviously then agrees to this plan, so they put this stupid helmet over her, she shoots out her eye-lazers until her power is drained, and then they take her away and take some of her blood.
Meanwhile, Winn and James meet back up at Cat Co to discuss some info that Winn has uncovered. He thought that it was strange that the mystery vigilante killed one of the drug people from the day before, but let the other get away. Winn found out that the guy who was killed was released from jail on some sort of legal technicality. He then did some digging into the guy James had left hanging and found out that the same thing had happened to that guy: released from jail on a legal technicality. Further research has unearthed a third guy who never even went to jail for murdering a woman because the judge declared a mistrial. However, that third guy was found dead the previous week. And the lady who he'd originally murdered? Her husband was some... former Navy SEAL or something similar. So they think that her husband is the mystery vigilante. And now that they know this, they know how they're going to stop him.
Back to Hank and Alex. She draws some blood and runs some tests. She finds that things are normal, but then when she pulls up a screen of his blood cells, they're... doing something weird. Alex is baffled over this, but Hank knows instantly what it is.
He rushes off and finds Meg. He confronts her, and she tries to defend herself by saying that she was the White Martian who helped some Green Martians to escape from the prison camps on Mars. You know, in the story that she originally told to Hank? Anyway, this does nothing to help Hank's anger, and he screams at her to reveal herself, which she does, and then they get into a fight.
And finally, back to Supergirl and Mon-El. The guards throw Kara back into her cell. Mon-El asks if she's okay, and she says yes. She asks Mon-El to tell Alex should anything happen to her that Alex should go and live her life. Mon-El, in return, tells Kara that it would be okay if she told the world that Mon-El was afraid.
And then, some mysterious, hooded figure shows up to rescue them, but surprise! It's actually Jeremiah! I was wondering if he would show up sooner or later... Anyway, he gets them out of the cage, but he has to first pull the bullet from Mon-El's leg, because it's making him sick. But just as he pulls the bullet out, the alarm is sounded, and they rush out of there. Kara wants Jeremiah to come with them, but he says that he's survived for this long in CADMUS, and he'll be okay for a while longer. Kara insists that Alex will be angry when she finds out that Kara could have rescued Jeremiah, but Jeremiah is insistent, and Kara and Mon-El finally leave.
Finally, a wrap-up with the Guardian sub-plot: James goes to some warehouse, where some other guy is all tied up. The mystery vigilante, who's not so much of a mystery anymore, shows up, and they fight once again. However, Alex and Maggie show up just in time to stop the guy from escaping once again, and Alex helps to clear James's name without revealing that she knows who he is or who he is to Maggie.
Later, Alex finds Kara and Mon-El in the DEO infirmary room. She's upset that she hadn't figured out that Kara had been taken earlier, but Kara interrupts her pity party to tell her about Jeremiah. Alex is startled and a little upset over this.
Some time after that, a DEO team bursts into where CADMUS had been, but as you might expect, they've long since packed up and moved on.
Hank has captured Meg and put her in a cell in the DEO. She's just thankful to be alive. But as Hank is walking away, Meg calls out to him that he's sick, isn't he? She then tells of inhuman (inMartian?) experiments that the White Martians did to the Green Martians to figure out a better and more effective way of killing them. She says that White Martian blood will change a Green Martian into a White Martian. Dun-dun-DUUUUN!
Alex, Winn, and James go to Kara's apartment, where Mon-El is stretched out on the sofa with his leg bandaged. Kara easily reheats some cold pot-stickers with her heat vision, and they're all excited because her powers are back now. She sits next to Mon-El and tells him that he was really brave back at CADMUS, and he says that he learned how to be brave because of her. She then gets called away to heat up the pizza, and Mon-El asks James and Winn if Kara “is mated to anyone”. He explains that on his home planet, all marriages are arranged, from birth. And when people hit a certain age, you then marry that person. The boys explain to her that on earth, who you marry is a personal choice now, and that Kara hasn't chosen anyone. Mon-El then watches Kara through heart-eyes, and I think that the boys can tell that...
Somebody knocks on the door, and for some unholy reason, it's Maggie. Alex just happened to answer it, and she steps out into the hall to talk to her. Maggie promises just a few minutes, and then she'll leave. She says that she heard what Alex had to say, and she's sorry about all of that. But Alex is really important to her, even if she doesn't exactly feel the same way that Alex does about her. And she asks that they be friends. If not, then Maggie will leave Alex alone. Alex doesn't exactly answer, and just goes back inside.
Kara asks what it was about, and Alex knows that Kara had been listening. They then talk about what they're going to do about CADMUS and everything that has come up recently.
And finally, the teaser for later: Cyborg Superman goes to Superman's... icy hideout place and pours the blood that they'd taken from Kara all over his hand. It makes the robot in attendance think that he's actually Kara. The Cyborg then asks about “Project Medusa”.
This episode... Ugh. Too much going on, and not enough time dedicated to each little sub-plot. Like, seriously guys. Pick a plot, and then stick to it. And if you really wanted to do all of these plots, BREAK THEM INTO SEPERATE EPISODES! At most, an episode should have two major plots going on, and then some minor, background and personal things. The thing with Maggie and Alex, for example, is a background plot. Mon-El's blooming love for Kara is another one. BUT TOO MANY MAJOR PLOTS HAPPENING IN THIS EPISODE!
And it just really make the entire episode completely stink!
I went into this season with high hopes that CW would keep up the level of quality that we were used to from CBS. However, I hope that this turns out to be a one-time thing, or else I might stop watching...
