Yea, recently everything just feels so.... much. Like I'm always at a state of just slightly overwhelmed that makes it feel usless to do anything. Like I'm worried about money, and I know that I have credit so I can use it and I have things that I need and things I want that I shouldn't deny myself of just because things are a bit trying (like food I want, things I need to fix). But then I can't help but have that internalized poor mantra of "why are u buying this when u have bills to pay?" which is dumb bc I deserve to use what little money I have in making my life more enjoyable . But I'm also like. sage did U really need to upgrade your phone or buy an interview shirt or hair dye? Like, no not technically, but these are things I should do to just make myself feel better. I don't want to be using a broken phone, might as well upgrade when theres a promotion that sure makes it hard right now but is a smart idea in the long run. And yes while I didn't need the dye or the shirt - it will make me more confident in my interview so I can get a higher paying job and not be surrounded by Stuff all day causing me to want to constantly buy things bc I wont be in a store 8hrs a day 5 days a week. So like, yes you do need those things and its negligible when I consider the credit I have. And even if I have some debts, I know that no one can bail me out becausemy family is in the same situation. And I have time. I just started working. Its a rough month, and the fact that I have a trip planned makes it even harder. Because that means more money. But if I always deny myself the opportunity to go and do things bc I don't have the money then I'd never leave my house ever, and thats how I grew up and I was miserable and the money will be gone and the month will be tight anyways so just go anddon't think about it. But I do think about it, because it's hard, and I work so hard my entire life, for what? To pay rent?? other people my age get to say the money they make and build a life yet I was dealt a shitty hand and have had to spend my time working for something people are given. And it hurts bc I've wasted so much time and worked so much andhave 9 dollars to my name and so much debt. But I will find a way. ANd it will all be paid off. I don' know how but I've done this same thing before, cried about it, and went to work the next day and figured it out. And my mother has done this everyday for the past 30 years, and I feel so sorryforher because I know it's hard. And she deserves so much more and I want to give it to her, and I'm not even 23. And tomorrow is my birthday and I have to go work. Even if I called out I don't know what it would help. And I want to go out with my friends and have a good time but I need to paymy car and I need to pay my bills. And I work 9 to 5 and when I get home I have to walk my dog and make dinner. And it's cold. And by the time all of that is done I feel like I have no time to make art or practice chinese or do any of my hobbies and better myself. I''m so tired that all I do is sleep. And I feel myself falling into old habits. And I hate it, i hate it, I am trying so hard to clawmy way out of it. It's starting with a simple routine. Even if it hasn't gotten to the point where I sit and draw or read or write every day. At least I do the dishes when I finish eating, brush my teeth twice a day, foldmy clothes, make my bed, stay off my phone during my breaks, and pack a lunch. i reread a LOT especially bc at college i do not have the money to buy enough books for a whole semester of new books and the college library is kinda lacking in the fiction department and the county library is kinda far away so i won't bother listing them all...

but some rereads i haven't mentioned so far that i really really enjoyed were six of crows (which i assume you know bc everyone on tumblr loves it and what can i say. i love it too.) and a far wilder magic by alison saft (which looks a bit booktoky when you're looking it up but it is SOOO good...it has alchemy and ouroboroi (sp?) and manifestations of gods that are physical animals you can hunt and also i love the characters. and the cover is beautiful)

9. Did you get into any new genres?

not really unless you count picture books....ive kind of always been an I Know What I Like and Stick To It reader and it occasionally changes (like shifting from mg to ya to adult or just fantasy to fantasy and scifi and some other stuff) but yeah. im not so good at leaving my favorite genres to explore for other things

boys weekend by mattie lubchansky - graphic novel abt a newly out transfemme on their college friend's bachelor weekend (i forget the name for it) trip to an island that's like vegas but worse and they're the only person who notices the weird cult sucking people in one by one...

starling house by alix e harrow - ILLUSTRATED BY ROVINA CAI also it's abt a creepy weird old house and strange monsters and a classic children's book and also capitalism ruining towns . that's not a good summary but i loved it

23. What’s the fastest time it took you to read a book?

not counting picture books or short stories or novellas a couple hours i think? i picked up the gentleman by forrest leo back in march in the afternoon after reading a 100-page novella at lunchtime and read like half of it before my evening class and half of it after. it was SOO good. very silly and also illustrated. oh also i keep my exoskeletons to myself which i mentioned in the previous answer...was going to start it before bed bc i had no homework but then i couldn't put it down and read it in like 2-3 hours crying the entire time. i can't recommend it enough it was so good

bonus: yes!! i use both goodreads and storygraph bc i like the ui of goodreads better (im the only person in the world who does) but i love all the little charts on storygraph

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 14 - South Korea

It's Winter break and I am FINALLY picking back up my 2023 watch through (given how it's December, I probably won't finish this before 2024, but that's okay!).

This is another one I watched live at the time at my friend's house, and my main memory apart from Seb winning is Mark Webber's car having an alternator failure and then going on fire (right after his Singapore last lap DNF which, ouch) and Nico Rosberg having a very sparky front wing. iirc Jenson had an alright race and scored points, though I cannot recall how Lewis did, so let's jump in!

Once again saying how much of a core memory the old F1 intro is

and also asking why can't F1 provide alternate commentary options, why must Crofty and Brundle be forced upon us 😭

On a more practical note, I never knew why this race was officially called the Korean GP instead of the South Korean GP

But Yeongam was a fun track even if the layout looked a bit odd.

right before all that happened Grosjean overtook Lewis and is in P2

here is how everything the last few days went

so he visited me at work! He told me afterwards that he didn't tell me when exactly he was coming bc he wanted to surprise me 🥺 and i just followed him around for the 15 minutes he was there full on heart eyes 😂 but he got a coffee and he kept telling me how good it was 😂 and i got a hug before he left and it made working alone at night at a gas station as a 23 year old girl a little better bc i had that to remember if I died 🙃

But today I went to his house so we could go out to eat and all that. He gave me this cat crochet kit he bought for me 🥺 and when we came back I tried to teach him how to crochet and he managed a few chains but I think the hook was too small to properly teach him so I told him that I'd bring a bigger hook next time (he was like are you saying I'm too small and I'm like STOP OMG)

Well we went out to eat and we went to Barnes and Noble and looked at the music and the legos and I kept pointing out all the books I read. He lost me for a few minutes and he found me at the smutty romance section 🤦‍♀️ I pointed out icebreaker by hannah grace and was like I read that and he was like ooo there's hockey in it and I'm like Yes. We built Legos again big surprise and I kept telling him I was going to take one of his cats home with me and he said I wasn't allowed and I said well what if I trade one of my cats for her and he asked if he could have my cat (who is currently sleeping on my chest bc 7 hours without me is just too much for her 😂) and I was like no can't have that one if you take her I'm coming with her it's a package deal and he was like I'm okay with that 🥺 and he said that he and his cat are a package deal and I was being distracted by pictures of my cats on my phone lol so I didn't respond right away and he was like wow no response to that okay 😂

And he invited me to this Halloween party he's going to on Saturday but I work until 7 and I'm heavily debating calling off I mean no I'm not 👀 like do i have a costume? No. Can I get one that quickly? Possibly. Is there a high possibility I may end up kissing him for the first time while he is wearing a costume of kevin the bird from the movie up? Yeah probably. Am I okay with that? Yeah cause it's my fault he even got the costume in the first place 😂
