Great day in Kelowna today. I walked a bit, I found a new friend (how cute is this puppy), I got tons of reference pictures. I finally decided for gouache since I was going to be on the bike all day and I had forgotten (white, blue and violet oil paint🤦‍♀️). I found this little beach with a table and started to paint. Had lunch, more bike, and another gouache at the beach on the city park. Incredible city to enjoy good times. I got just 2 blocks out to the mountains and I found a homeless city. High contrasts as everywhere. ‘Eleuthera’ - Eleuthera was one of my favourite places to visit, and one of the few places on earth where you can see the stark difference between the rich dark blue colours of the Atlantic and the shallow light blue of the Bight of Eleuthera. Brilliant Trippy Surreal Art Presented by & Shared from @wpgartdealer - · · "Eat Me Alive" is the first solo exhibition by Britney Kornel. This exhibition had a short-lived stint at a local establishment recently, taken down by management due to concerns it was controversial. Standing in front of “A passing weather report.” Mixed Media 1983. After returning from Europe in 1981- 82, I began working on a series of five constructed installations, called Travel Restrictions. The series was exhibited in Niagara Artist’s Company’s first permanent gallery on St. Paul Street at Academy Street, in St. Catharines in November of 1983. Major score on the weekend! Two gallons of extra heavy gel medium and assorted other stuff at 40% off. Curry’s is no longer carrying Golden, Liquitex or Windsor Newton! Very limited stock left but some good deals if you find something. I was running low on the gel so this is a great find! Although I have had a love/hate relationship with Curry’s over the years, (mostly hate), it is sad to see the state of the company today. Down to two stores from, I believe, nine. None left in Toronto. The Hamilton store looked empty. Stock is really low. The company has been in business since 1911.
