Holiday gift drabble for @canistrumflorum Merry Christmas, Flare!

Eden hesitated on the steps, her amber eyes rising along the church. The building looked far more imposing than she remembered. The Cetra let out a huff, her breath billowing into a cloud against the cold air. Her hand grasped the door’s handle, her body straining as she opened it as quietly as possible. She peered in, looking for the familiar pink bow or green eyes before slipping the wrapped parcel inside, knocking loudly, and scurrying from the steps.

Beneath the shimmering lilac wrapping paper rested a carved redwood box, and within it was a large knife. The blade was a swirled rose-gold and silver, covered by a leather attachable shealth. The knife’s handle bone, a flower with carving vines carved down the handle’s side. Within the blossom’s pom has an indent large enough for a materia. There was also a note inside:

“Dear Aerith,

I heard somewhere that you want to keep you and your friends safe. This knife is strong enough to fight back the fiercest of beasts. I’ve also used a little magic of my own on it, the materia you put in it will become dangerous to any of your enemies. I hope this helps.

Tifa nodded at Aerith’s last words, being slightly comforted by them.

“You’re right. As long as we are together, we can find a way.” She felt really lucky to have a friend like her, one that could give her hope whenever the anxiety clutched at her chest. A smile crossed her features as her wine eyes turned to the sky. It was getting pretty dark. Another reason to be scared would be that during the night monsters wandered freely around this place. They had to reach the next city quickly.

“Maybe the others are already waiting for us. Let’s try to find them!”

Four years ago, I started my blog for Harmony. I was first called The-Cyber-Soldier and Harmony was not as developed as she is today.  I’m shocked that I got this far. Four years, 658 followers, and the countless memories I have here.

I owe it to all of you. If it wasn’t for you, I don’t think I would have been here for this long. This blog and the people I met here helped me stay sane when everything in my life changed. Frequent moves, transfer from one school to another, and the chaos that follows kept me on the edge, but rp and my friends on Tumblr helped me find some stability.  You all helped me in becoming a better writer and even a better person. 

I apologize for my inactivity. I should have more free time to write with all of you after Tuesday when I finish my capstone.

I can’t thank you all enough. I have included everyone I want to give special acknowledgement to for you have been there with me since day one.

Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the boar were outcasts, banding together to stay alive in the rough world of the Pride Lands. They found the wounded cub Simba and nursed him back to health-----with a diet of bugs!----realizing just how useful a lion friend could be against a hungry predator! They might be easily frightened, but for their friend Simba, they’re willing to be brave... for a minute or two, at least!

Timon and Pumbaa’s hijinks and “Hakuna Matata” philosophy made them very popular characters. So much so that not only did they appear in their own movie, THE LION KING 1 ½, but their own globe-trotting television series as well!

ALADDIN

Growing up poor in the streets of Agrabah was tough, but Aladdin’s quick wits and fast feet kept him in a step ahead of the riff-raff. A chance meeting with Princess Jasmine made him a hero as he retrieved the magic lamp from the Cave of Wonders. In KINGDOM HEARTS, Aladdin defeated the sinister Jafar with the help of Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Even though he now lives at the palace, betrothed to Jasmine, Aladdin still like to get out in the streets on occasion----even though more often than not trouble finds him there!

Aladdin thought he was an orphan for many years. Then just before his marriage to Jasmine, he discovered his father was alive and the leader of a gang of thieves!

Aerith

A gentle and kind soul. Aerith called Hollow Bastion her home until the Heartless invasion turned the town into a den of darkness. Retreating to Traverse Town, she assisted Sora in his quest. She returned to Hollow Bastion after the defeat of the wicked Maleficent, who had taken over Hollow Bastion’s castle in the wake of the Heartless. Now she helps with the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, rebuilding their shattered town.

Aerith made her debut to FINAL FANTASY VII as a mysterious flower-selling girl who got involved in the events surrounding Cloud and Sephiroth. Her fate in the game tagged at many a heartstring. She remains one of the most popular characters from the series to date.

For anyone who roleplays as Yuffie Kisaragi,

YUFFIE

A boisterous ninja girl. Yuffie is an endless cauldron of energy. Having returned to her home of Hollow Bastion, she works tirelessly to keep the Heartless at bay and restore the town to the radiant garden it once was.

Yuffie first appeared in FINAL FANTASY VII as a secret character. Oversized shuriken in hand, she traveled the globe as a “materia hunter,” although perhaps “thief” would be a more apt term.

MULAN

The only daughter of the distinguished Fa family, Mulan doesn’t really fit in, such to her aging father’s dismay. When Shan-Yu and his Heartless hordes threaten China, Mulan disguised herself as a man named “Ping” to save her father from being dragooned into the Imperial army.

The story of Mulan is based on an ancient Chinese historical legend. The Disney version of Mulan continued on in sequels, following her exploits after defeating Shan-Yu, alongside her newfound friends.
