Hasn't had a puff in 210 years...
So being a medical cannabis user and general enjoyer of the herb, I of course downloaded Cannabis Commonwealth for my new Fallout 4 game.
Now, Cannabis Commonwealth is a great mod. Lots of thought was put into it, and the growing mechanic is about as close to realistic as you can get with this game engine. Also, the plant models are gorgeous. And it’s funny as hell when I have Morgan light up a joint and she stands there smoking and literally refuses to do anything else until she’s done. Relatable, especially after 210 years…
That said, there’s only one flaw to the whole experience. One tiny thing that left me frustrated and going on wild goose chases for days. That is: I couldn’t figure out who in the hell in the entire Commonwealth was selling buds and seeds.
Now, for those who have installed this mod and are faced with the same question: Rachel, Dr. Forsythe’s assistant down in Vault 81, is the sole person that I have found with the hookup. Apparently, she’s been running a little side business behind everyone's back. She restocks every 48 hours like a standard merchant, and each time her sale list includes at least a few buds and types of seeds.
I found this out completely by accident after checking every merchant, trader, doctor, and drug pusher I could think of and going on multiple wild-goose chases. Vault 75 has a giant chem stash according to a junkie’s note? Look there. Vault 95 is notorious for its huge stock of prewar chems? Let’s try there. The big losers in this whole exercise were the Gunners, which was hilarious.
I’m just imagining Gunners seeing a furious Minutemen General in full colors plowing her way through two of their bases, including their vault of origin and secondary base of operations, while they try to figure out which of their many, many crimes has actually brought her wrath down on them.
Gunner in Vault 95: This is a general alert to Headquarters and to all tertiary bases and squads within comm range. We are under attack by the Minutemen General, her second in command, three robots, and a dog. Lock down all bases immediately and prepare for attack.
Gunner in Vault 75: Mike, what the hell is going on over there?
95: It’s Corporal Miller--oh fuck it, I’m probably gonna die anyway. It’s a complete shitstorm, Joey. She’s reprogrammed most of our robots to add to her force, our turrets are shut down and our recruits are dropping like flies.
75: Oh God. What the hell caused this? Is it because of Quincy? Or our attacks on her settlements?
95: It could also be retaliation for when we kidnapped her buddy Jake and beat the shit out of him, or when we killed Old Paul, or when we interrogated The Ron including breaking bones and snatching his wig…
75: …wow. We’ve, uh, done a lot to piss her off, haven’t we?
95: Yep. And there’s no telling which one was the last straw…
Morgan, meanwhile: WHERE’S THE FUCKING WEED YOU TIN-SOLDIER ASSHOLES I KNOW YOU’RE HOLDING OUT ON ME

Review - Spare - by Prince Harry
If you were a hermit living in a remote cave then I expect that even you would be well aware that Prince Harry and his wife have been in the news recently quite a lot. Initially I decided I was going to avoid the mass hysteria and not tune into the Netflix documentary and certainly not partake in the reading of the controversial autobiography but I kind of got drawn into it all, so here we are.…

The suspect held over the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old British girl in France is under investigation for murder, prosecutors say.
Solaine Thornton was shot dead while playing on a swing in her garden on Saturday evening.
Prosecutors said the suspect, a 71-year-old neighbour, got to within 10m of the girl's father before opening fire through a hedge.
He had been in conflict with the family over building work on their property.
The suspect then shut himself in his house in the village of Saint-Herbot, north of Quimper in Brittany, following the incident but gave himself up to police an hour later.
His wife, who was also arrested, surrendered half an hour after he did, but she has since been released.
Prosecutor Camille Miansoni said the couple had been in conflict for years with their British neighbours over works taking place on their property.
The suspect was "profoundly exasperated" over the works, which he said affected his privacy and caused disturbance to him and his wife.
Mr Miansoni said the suspect had gone into his home to fetch one of the guns and returned to the garden before opening fire and shooting three or four times through a hedge. This suggested a level of premeditation, he said.
"It appears that he clearly aimed at the father, that he aimed at his wife, but however he seems less clear as to a possible admission that he aimed at the girl," Mr Miansoni said.
The girl and her eight-year-old sister had been playing on a swing as their parents tended the barbecue when the neighbour began firing.
The younger girl ran to another neighbour's house to raise the alarm and is now said to be in shock.
A local resident told French media that the younger child ran to neighbours shouting: "My sister is dead, my sister is dead".
The victim's parents Adrian and Rachel Thornton were also hurt and are in hospital.
A search of the couple's property also uncovered two rifles, one of which had not been previously declared,
The couple, both Dutch nationals, tested positive for alcohol and cannabis. They had no previous convictions, prosecutors said.
Mr Miansoni said the suspect had expressed regret, and that a mental health assessment had found nothing notable.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said it was providing assistance to a British family.

Gatewood Galbraith - A True Hemp Hero
Exploring the Life and Impact of a Hemp Icon.
youtube
Gatewood Galbraith was the Last Free Man In America.
By Casper Leitch
I met Gatewood Galbraith in 1991 at the April 20th San Francisco Earth Day Festival. I was attending the event as a featured speaker along side Gatewood, Jack Herer and Ed Rosenthal. I recorded a few interviews during the day that I intended to use as roll-in material on my television series, Time 4 Hemp, and Gatewood was one of the people I sat down with. He and I were friends ever since. It really rattled me when he passed away January 12, 2012. During the interview, Jack Herer received a fax from the Henry Ford Museum that confirmed the fact that Henry Ford DID INDEED make a automobile out of hemp. While the cameras were rolling, Jack burst into the interview to share his news with us.
Every time Gatewood came onto my programs as a guest, he would ask if we could do a segment completely focused on using hemp as primary fuel source. We finally did. If you would like to listen to it, it’s only 35-mins and can be found when you click on the below link.
Hemp IS Petroleum - Gatewood Galbraith.
When I think of Gatewood, it's easy for me to conjure images of him as the spirited advocate who championed cannabis legalization in Kentucky. As his friend, I got to see behind his vibrant persona what a multifaceted individual he truly was. His legacy extends far beyond his political pursuits.
Gatewood Grew-up In Hemp.
Born in 1947 in Carlisle, Kentucky, Galbraith grew up to become a prominent figure in Kentucky politics. Known affectionately as "Gatewood" throughout the Commonwealth, he embarked on a relentless crusade to end the prohibition of cannabis. His fervent advocacy earned him the admiration of notables like Ralph Nader, Willie Nelson, and Woody Harrelson.
At the heart of Gatewood's mission was the restoration of hemp as a vital economic resource. He envisioned a future where industrial hemp revitalized rural communities and fueled economic growth. Gatewood's unwavering commitment to this cause manifested in various forms. When out campaigning he would wear suits made of hemp fiber and often drove his car which he had re-tooled to run on hemp fuel.
Despite facing electoral setbacks, Gatewood Galbraith remained steadfast in his beliefs. His platform, centered on cannabis legalization and rural empowerment, resonated deeply with Kentuckians. Beyond politics, Galbraith championed environmental conservation and educational reform, embodying the ethos of a true populist. His message soon went global.
Planting Seeds Of Truth.
Between campaigns for statewide office, Gatewood made a name for himself as a defense attorney, including serving as pro bono counsel in the country’s first felony medical marijuana case. He fought against the spraying of paraquat in the Daniel Boone National Forest in the 1980s, gaining national attention for his prescient opposition to the toxic herbicide.
The New York Times referred to him in 1983 as, “… an unsuccessful candidate for state agricultural commissioner … who favors legalizing marijuana.” He opposed the mountaintop removal method of mining in Eastern Kentucky, noting that it had caused “unsurpassed environmental damage” across the region. His real calling card, however, was hemp.
Digging In Deeper.
Gatewood’s left field stances and larger-than-life persona also attracted a number of celebrity friends and admirers. In 1991, Gatewood appeared on the cover of High Times Magazine with friend and fellow cannabis using icon Willie Nelson, who campaigned on his behalf from Louisville to Lexington.
youtube
When Woody Harrelson was arrested in 1996 for planting four hemp seeds in Lee County, Kentucky as a deliberate challenge to state cannabis laws, Gatewood was right by his side in support. Four years later, after Harrelson was acquitted, the two starred in the 2003 film, Hempsters: Plant the Seed.
youtube
He Walked The Walk.
He was, by all accounts, a brilliant attorney. No one wanted to argue against Gatewood in front of a group of people. He had this ability to connect with people on a visceral level. He was also known for his uncommon generosity. Galbraith would walk around downtown and give money to the homeless, or he would go to McDonald’s and order 50 breakfast sandwiches and drive around handing them out. He defended people in court pro-bono, he volunteered his time to soup-kitchens and food banks.
Gatewood Galbraith's impact transcended his electoral endeavors. His legacy lives on as a symbol of resilience and conviction, reminding us of the power of grassroots activism. While he may be remembered for his colorful personality and headline-grabbing antics, it's crucial to recognize his profound influence on the Global Hemp Movement. His indomitable spirit serves as a guiding light for those who dare to challenge the status quo and advocate for positive change.

Medical weed doctors conduct thorough evaluations to determine whether a patient qualifies for medical cannabis use. They consider a range of qualifying conditions, such as chronic pain, cancer, epilepsy, and other debilitating illnesses. Educating Patients on Strains and Dosages:

Boston's Harpoon Brewery expands distribution of Rec. Weed to Maine.

Press Release
Boston, MA – April 12, 2023 – Harpoon Brewery – the maker of New England’s first IPA – today announced that they will be expanding the distribution of their first THC-based beverage, Rec. Weed, to the Maine market. Made in partnership with Massachusetts’ Novel Beverage Company, the new Maine distribution will feature 10 milligrams of THC per bottle with the same delicious taste profile including passionfruit puree, green tea, and hops. Each bottle is just 25 calories and includes 3 grams of sugar providing a clean, crisp finish to help consumers relax and unwind.
“The reaction to the Massachusetts launch of Rec. Weed was overwhelmingly positive and we’re looking forward to bringing this unique beverage to the great state of Maine,” said Dan Kenary, CEO and co-founder of Harpoon. “Novel Beverage Co. has been an incredible partner for us with their deep knowledge of the THC space and has allowed us to combine our expertise to create a one of a kind offering with Rec. Weed.”
Rec. Weed is brewed similarly to a session ale but without fermentation, meaning it has no alcohol content. The process starts with a base of green tea and a bit of added sugar, followed by the cold steeping of Citra and other West Coast hop oils and passionfruit puree. After the steeping process, THC is added to the liquid base, and the beverage is carbonated like a traditional beer. This process imparts minimal THC flavor or aroma. And because the THC is absorbed into the liquid, people feel its effects quicker than with more common edibles.
“After seeing the excitement on the Massachusetts launch of Rec. Weed, we were eager to get the beverage in our dispensaries across Maine,” said Joel Pepin, co-founder of JAR Cannabis. “The new beverage from Harpoon Brewery and Novel Beverage Co. is an exciting and unique product that offers our customers another way to enjoy THC.”
Rec. Weed will be available in 12 oz. bottles with a suggested retail price of $7.00 in Maine. It will be available year-round at recreational dispensaries throughout the state. The beverage will also continue to be available at recreational dispensaries in Massachusetts in 12 oz. slim cans with a suggested retail price of $6.99. Must be 21+ to purchase.
