I crave a silly, simplistic, identifiable but super plot important mascot character to represent my stories as a whole… unfortunately the two characters that come to mind that I’m attached to are being gatekept by their stories

This is a weirdly specific thing to ask but anybody know of some simple animation memes floating around? They can be old or new, I don't care. I kinda just wanna have an idea or excuse to practice some animation more and think making one would be kinda cool...

It's been a while since I promo'ed my commissions, but I recently got a vgen invite so I figured... hey! Why not set it up and try that commissions thing again? I'm still experimenting, so things are prone to change, but I'll open up more listings and options if it all goes well.

Genuine question that I’d like honest feedback from:

I do all my storytelling/writing stuff for pure fun. I’m not here to impress an audience or make a living. However, there IS a certain joy and excitement that comes from slowly dropping story crumbs as the audience slowly picks up the pieces and puts it together. However, because I’m doing it for fun, there’s a chance I lose motivation with the project (as there’s no one to bounce off of if I just keep it all to myself) and all that work I put into the story never sees the light of day. On the other hand, posting as I develop the story ruins the storytelling aspect of it, but by throwing my ideas out there (even if it’s considered a “spoiler” to the story) regardless of the order they’re being drawn in (with the chance at getting feedback), I’m more likely to pursue the project or make significant progress on it.

Both sides have their pros and cons, and I’ve been told that it’s bad practice to tell and not show, but (from a recreational standpoint) which one do you think is more important? (can be from a creative perspective or an audience one)
