Hello! Are you interested in learning how to navigate the FDA recall website? Here's a little information about it!
As of now, the website is at: https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts
Here's what you'll see when you visit:

- The comprehensive list.

How to interpret the list:
I will use the first item as an example. It says "2/10/2024" and "SaveMart."
Do I frequently by any "SaveMart" food? I don't know. I'm not familiar with that brand. Sometimes smaller, better-known brands are contained under these larger categories. So I will click on it:

Now I can see that "SaveMart" includes something else called "Lucky" and "Lucky California." I also see that this recall is about their "service deli chicken street taco kit" specifically.
Is that all the information I need? I will scroll down to read the Summary.

It's important to note WHY the product is being recalled! Some are "less serious" recalls, such as "oops, we said this product didn't have peanuts, but it might." (I say "less serious" because allergens are less of a health risk for the average person than pathogen contaminants like Listeria, E. coli, etc.) These "less serious" recalls can still indicate poor quality of production, so even if they aren't relevant to you, it's worth being aware of.
However, this recall is Listeria! What is Listeria? Often, the recall page will explain the contaminant and it's dangers. There is often other VERY IMPORTANT information too.
So I will scroll down and skim the next section:

Note, there is a description for Listeria.
But IMPORTANTLY, it notes that the risk comes specifically from cotija cheese from Rizo-Lopez Foods.
At this point, I'm not sure if other products containing this ingredient have issued recalls. Typically, recalls are made voluntarily by the brands/companies that sell the products. However, the FDA can also announce contaminants, if the companies do not volunteer that information. I will return to the main page and continue reading the recent recalls, looking for the Rizo-Lopez cojits cheese as I read about other recalls.

So, the FDA and CDC are investigating the outbreak. It's related to cojita and queso fresco. And, helpfully, there is a link for more information!
When I click the link, it takes me to a page for Rizo-López Foods, Inc, and their voluntary recall of dairy products. Tumblr says I can't add more pictures so here's some information from the page:
The recalled products were distributed nationwide by RLF and through distributors. Products also were sold at retail deli counters including, but not limited to, El Super, Cardenas Market, Northgate Gonzalez, Superior Groceries, El Rancho, Vallarta, Food City, La Michoacana, and Numero Uno Markets.
The recalled products include cheese, yogurt, and sour cream sold under the brand names Tio Francisco, Don Francisco, Rizo Bros, Rio Grande, Food City, El Huache, La Ordena, San Carlos, Campesino, Santa Maria, Dos Ranchitos, Casa Cardenas, and 365 Whole Foods Market.
Note that it discusses some of the places it was sold, and the brands it was sold under! If you have loved ones who buy the products, be a sweetheart and tell them.
At the bottom of this page is a BIG, HELPFUL SECTION OF PHOTOS of some affected products! You can screenshot those to reference at the store, and send the photos to loved ones.
If you are quick, you can scan a whole year's worth of recalls in 10-30 minutes. Then you just need to periodically check back for new ones!

Companies that make weighted infant sleepwear say their products are safe and help babies sleep, but a growing chorus of medical experts, safe-sleep advocates and government regulators warn that the garments could be dangerous. Companies that make weighted sleepwear for newborns and infants say their products are safe and help exhausted parents by easing young children into a restful sleep. But a growing chorus of medical experts, safe-sleep advocates and government regulators have urged caregivers to avoid the items, arguing that there’s no proof weighted infant sleepwear is safe and that in fact it could impede young babies from breathing, pumping blood and moving freely. “The stakes are simply too high to allow weighted infant sleep sacks and swaddles to stay on the market without evidence that they are safe,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said in a statement. The Safeguarding Infants from Dangerous Sleep Act, which was introduced in both the Senate and the House, would ban wearable blankets, sleep sacks and swaddles that contain added weight “for a purpose other than insulation or decoration” for children age 1 and younger. “In today’s world, many consumers believe that if a product is sold it must be safe, especially those for babies. However, this isn’t always the case,” Michelle Barry, founder and president of the nonprofit Safe Infant Sleep, said in a statement. “This legislation is a crucial step in safeguarding our youngest and most precious citizens.” Manasi Gangan, CEO of Nested Bean, which makes and sells weighted infant sleepwear, criticized the proposed legislation as “anti-science” and said she opposed it. “The bill proposed by Senator Blumenthal and Congressman Cardenas doubles-down on unreasonable government overreach without any data and does not serve the public’s best interest,” Gangan said in an email to NPR. Rep. Tony Cárdenas, D-Calif., is a sponsor of the legislation. Gangan has called for a product standard on weighted infant sleepwear in the past, and she noted that Nested Bean has sold more than 2.5 million units since 2011. “While our business has suffered due to reckless statements from government officials, our customers – each one a loving parent, grandparent, or caregiver – are standing with us,” she added. Dreamland Baby, the other leading manufacturer of weighted infant sleepwear, did not immediately respond to NPR’s request for a comment. Patty Davis, a spokesperson for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, said the agency is aware of five deaths associated with weighted infant sleep products. “As the investigations into these incidents are ongoing, we are unable to provide additional details,” Davis said. But data published by the CPSC show five fatalities that involved a weighted infant sleep garment between 2022 and 2024. The children who died ranged in age from one month to six months old. The CPSC, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health and the American Academy of Pediatrics have all raised concerns about the potential dangers of weighted infant sleepwear. Additionally, a number of major retailers recently pulled the products from their stores, including Amazon, Walmart and Target. Ticketgángster no terminaba de introducirle al respetable su triple preventa, cuando lo empaló con la novedad de la sala de espera antes de la fila virtual. Es un registro con los datos personales que condiciona la entrada a la cola. En esa sala se filtra a los que pueden formarse para intentar comprar sus boletos y reciben un código de acceso. Registrarse no garantiza la compra y la compra no garantiza que el boleto sea válido, pero esa información vale oro. Los que no lograron formarse reciben el aviso de agotados, es decir, condenados a la reventa. Y los códigos se venden hasta en cinco mil pesos en redes. Nunca imaginamos que comprar un boleto para un concierto sería tan irregular, impagable y complicado. Que lo digan los miles que se quedaron con las ganas de ir al Corona Capital, el fest que se lleva las palmas del gandallismo boletero con sus prácticas y precios. Y, sin embargo, se llena.
ENTONCES, EL RETORNO DE LUIS MIGUEL sacudió la venta de boletos. Una gira de cuarentaicinco fechas. Para empezar, le dijo que no a Ticketgángster y Ocesa. Si Robert Smith dobló a la mafia boletera en otros países, aquí fue Luismi. Al fin, alguien se atrevió a hacerlo. En vez de la mierda de Citibanamex fue con la mierda de Santander, en lugar del Auditorio eligió sedes como la Arena CDMX y el Estadio Banorte, con la producción de Fenix Entertainment y Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN). La venta de entradas fue en su página oficial y se alió con Súper Boletos, FunTicket y E Ticket. Se creyó, ingenuamente, que Micky iba a ser la competencia. Que el respetable dejaría de ser víctima del robo, el engaño, la especulación, la manipulación, la preventa, la reventa, la sobreventa y la discriminación. Pero el negocio sólo cambió de garras, los abusos seguirán igual.
Es que coño, Micky, siempre se puede empeorar. Sin campaña publicitaria, sin entrevistas, sin disco nuevo y sin apariciones públicas, la gira fue sold out. Muy rey cucaracho y todo, pero el Sol prevendió, agotó y cada boleto se revendió. Pese a que los seguidores desquiciaron el sistema y su página oficial se cayó varias veces, a los fraudes desde una página falsa —y el precio en la reventa que alcanzó los cien mil pesos—; pese a los tumultos y disturbios en las taquillas, a los revendedores que acapararon con violencia, a las taquilleras que estaban coludidas con los de la seguridad y a la policía que no hizo nada ante las denuncias. Y todo eso seguirá existiendo mientras haya quien pague ciento doce mil pesos por un boleto, cifra histórica del Corona, y cargos por más de ochocientos pesos.

Matias Araya was once an unknown, born and raised in Notting Hill. And to think, with his name living in rock infamy -- one might think he had lived within the industry his entire life.
Music was always a huge part of his life, the patriarch of his family being the original founder of Right Round Records, which he would later inherit. He often helped out around the shop when he was young, and never saw himself continuing the family business.
He was always a rambunctious kid, the eldest of three. He was never the greatest influence on them as the oldest child is told they should be, often joining them in their antics and developing the same "bad boy" reputation.
It wasn't until he reached high school that he met the members of his band. They could not have been more different, but were bonded by their mutual love of music. And so, they practiced day in and day out and became as close as brothers could be. Singing his heart out became everything to him.
It was never the dream to get noticed -- mainly because none of them ever believed that it would ever really happen. Even still, this ragtag band of kids from England moved to Los Angeles with little to their name.
The discovery of Overdrive Five was surprisingly just like the movies -- a talent scout having watched them play at one of their pub gigs. Little did they know, they would go from living paycheck to paycheck to being one of the biggest bands in the world.
After the release of their first album, the five were living the high life. They were touring, meeting people ( executives, women, the like ) and had the entire world accessible at their fingertips. However, Matias went down a bit of a darker path than the rest of them.
He didn't know how bad his substance abuse was getting. He just thought he could party hard. However, everything changed when he met and married Melina Oliviera, model, in a quick Vegas wedding.
They were endlessly bad for each other. Her addiction was just as bad as his was, if not worse. Both of them continued to spiral together, until an explosive night led to Matias needing to go to the hospital. And the first thing he noticed -- she didn't do anything to help him. She just kept the party going. He served her with divorce papers two days later and began his efforts to getting clean.
He feared returning to the stage -- wondering what people would think of him. But his band cheered him on and has continued to, even after their split.
Things finally came to an end for the band when Matias expressed that he wanted a life outside of touring, but they learned something else. Their bassist, Connor West, was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
They spent all the time they could at Connor's side, and things started to look up for a while. However, their friend's health suddenly declined before he eventually passed away.
Following his death, the band recorded and released an album of songs Connor had written -- as well as a couple they had written in his honor. That was five years ago, and Matias has no intention of returning to the stage. Not without Connor.
His fathers passing a year ago caused him to inherit Right Round, which he credits to giving him the last piece of the puzzle and the stability he needed.
Meeting Blue, his current partner, was one of the best moments of his life. He adores them completely -- and the otherwise very gruff rocker shows a different side to them and them only.

He's been sober for five years, and hasn't wavered since. He continues on his program and is extremely proud of himself for all the work that he has done.
Even if he's left his performance days behind him, he still dresses like he could walk right out on stage. Thrashed jeans, t-shirts, flannels, combat boots, occasional eyeliner, the whole nine yards.
Does come off a bit tougher than some can handle rather naturally. However, when he cares about people he cares about them deeply -- and he does allow it to show.
