Writing letters, proposals, project outlines, etc. are an integral part of the business world. For a successful career in any domain, one needs to be impeccable in writing English depicting the business senses aptly. Writing business English is much different from writing aesthetic English. Business English needs to be free from ornamentations and has to be straightforward in its approach. The overall idea represented through the writing must be easy to understand without losing the professional edge. Thus, business English is more about maintaining a balance between right English and necessary statements.
One can opt for a business English course to master the art of writing flawless and balanced business letters or any other official document. Here are some of the tips that will help you grasp the art of writing impeccable business content within a short time.
Omit The Emotions
The primary difference between professional writing and amateur writing remains the use of emotional expressions in the write-ups. When drafting business content, the touches of emotions must be avoided carefully. In a business write-up, everything should be stated in a clear-cut manner skipping the additional emotions. If you are replying to a business letter, no emotional words should be used. Instead, logic should dominate the length of the writing to ensure that every word conveyed becomes important and relevant.
Know Your Areas Of Strengths
A well-structured business write-up would require strategic placement of words and expressions so that the intended idea gets reflected through the write-up. The more you concentrate on the topic or the subject of writing, the better the quality of your write-up becomes.
The content, the information, and the substance are the three pillars of business English writing. Business English write-up can be done flawlessly by knowing the strengths and weaknesses one has. If you know the areas you need to improve, you can easily work on the same and make the writings immaculate.
Reviewing
While writing, the primary emphasis remains on the subject matter and the thought process that helps construct the sentences impeccably. Once you are done writing, the technical specifications must be checked once. The first thing that needs to be revised is the structure of the write-up. If the structure is not accurate, the first impression of the reader might not be positive.
The second thing that needs a relook is the information imbibed in the write-up. If any piece of information is unnecessary or sounds compelling, omit the same and let the flow of the write-up be smooth.
The last and the most important part is checking grammar and language. Rightly chosen vocabulary along with flawless use of grammar are critical for any business write up to qualify as a good one.
PSB Academy is one of the best for availing professional business English writing courses in Singapore. You can choose any course according to your requirement and master the art of manipulating words to build a business write-up perfectly.

Vision and Technology 5IMAG002W Reflective Text Template In this text, you will reflect on some of the ways that the ideas taught on this module have informed the work you have produced for Beyond the Frame. For this text you will choose one* text from the Vision and Technology module reading that has a particular relevance to your own photographic practice. *You’re also free to choose a text that is not on any of the module reading lists, but please check with Eugenie, Neil, or Teemu first to make sure that it’s appropriate Make sure you read your chosen text carefully and take lots of notes so that you have a good understanding of what the text is about and what it means to you. Please ensure you use the template below as a guide. TEXT Small History of Photography
By Walter Benjamin (1931) “Or one flips to the image of Dauthendey, the photographer, father of the poet, from the time of his engagement to that woman whom he found lying, one day, with slit wrists, in the bedroom of his house in Moscow, shortly after the birth of her sixth child. Here one sees her standing by him; he appears to clasp her, but her gaze goes past him, tightly riveted to an inauspicious distance. Were one to sink into such an an image for long enough, one would recognise how much here too, the extremes meet: the most precise technology can lend a magical value to its productions, such as a painted picture can never again possess for us. Despite all the skill of the photographer and all the good planning in the pose of his model, the viewer feels irresistibly compelled to seek out the tiniest spark of concurrence, a here and now, in such an image, with which actuality has seared, so to speak, the characters in the image. We are compelled to find the inconspicuous place in which, in the essence of that moment which passed long ago, the future nestles still today, so eloquently that we looking back are able to discover it. It is indeed a different nature that speaks to the camera then that which speaks to the eye; different above all in the sense that a space saturated by a person who is conscious is superseded by one saturated unconsciously. While it may now be quite usual that, for example, someone might account for a person’s gait, even if only roughly, that person would certainly know nothing of the posture in the fraction of a second when the person ‘takes a stride’. Photography, with it’s technical aids - freeze-framing, image enlargement - make this accessible. One learns of this optical unconscious only through photography, just as the instinctual unconscious is discovered in psychoanalysis”. Walter, B., On Photography. Reaktion Books. This box should include a full, properly formatted reference to your chosen text SUMMARY OF YOUR CHOSEN TEXT Walter Benjamin, in his Little History of Photography, written in 1931, studies this photograph of Karl Dauthendey and his fiancée, shortly before she commits Use this box to write a short summary of your chosen text. Which ideas in the text have the closest relevance to your own practice? You don’t have to summarise the entire text here, just the specific ideas that are relevant to your own photographic work. Length: approximately 250 words suicide. According to Benjamin there is an emotional veil which is almost imperceptible to rational perception. Benjamin was fascinated by the contingency of photography; that future event or circumstance which is possible but cannot be predicted with certainty. Benjamin saw the photograph as not only stopping time but also able to project the future out of the past. It is here that I am reminded of the ‘punctum’ which Roland Bathes later talks about. Benjamin’s definition of the optical unconscious seems to have been sparked initially by technological experimentation. The camera allows us an insight into moments that would be otherwise be imperceptible to the powers of human vision. This insight into alternate image worlds is where we first discover the optical unconscious. Sigmund Freud began using photographic processes as metaphors for his work as early as 1900. It is in Freud’s work that I sought inspiration for my photographic project, The Beast In The Nursery. It is the relationship between unconscious memories to conscious perceptions, which Freud likes to that of a negative and a photographic print. My photographic practice is closely linked to psychology and photo therapy. My most recent project has been inspired by Benjamin, Barthes and Freud. Using a Hasselblad and slide film has allowed me sink deeply into my image which has deepened my understanding of of the optical unconscious. Shawn, S., 2017. Photography And The Optical Unconscious. Duke University Press,. Use the sections below to reflect on the way that the ideas in your chosen text have relevance to your own photographic practice. You don’t have to fill out all of the sections below – just the ones that you feel are most relevant to your practice. The total combined word count of the sections below must add up to approximately 750 words. The point of this assignment is NOT to use the text to do a ‘reading’ or ‘analysis’ of your images in terms of their content – it’s meant to help you think about the way that your work is created, and the way that viewers encounter it. Content of your images is obviously important, and will probably need to be mentioned at some point, but it’s not the main focus of this assignment. Also remember that what you write in these sections must be directly linked to your chosen text – don’t just ‘free associate’. You don’t necessarily need to write in full academic style, but do write in complete sentences – no bullet points or disjointed notes please CAMERA What kind of camera(s) do you use to shoot your work (large format? Phone? Pinhole camera? Webcam? 35mm?) How this affect the way you photograph and the sort of images you produce? For the constructed photography project I used a Hasselblad camera, with a polaroid back to check the lighting, and a film back for the final image. Getting to know a new camera and a studio setup meant the process was very slow. It felt like patience was important. I was determined to capture a moment of ‘truth’ and knew that I could only do this by keeping my model distracted from the process, I did this by engaging him in conversation which would lead him into long periods of talking about things that interested him. As I took my 12 exposures of slide film I watched as the flash startled him and his flow of consciousness evaporated, he became conscious again. I felt I worked hard at returning him to a state of unconsciousness and as he became animated by his thoughts and ideas I tried to find a moment that Walter Benjamin might call a spark of concurrence; the fact of two or more events or circumstances happening or existing at the same time. I see that as the photograph being taken, and my subject talking to himself. In terms of technology I was forced to slow down and get to know my subject. I scanned the slide film and spent many hours meditatively removing tiny hairs and dust marks, by which time I felt I knew the picture intimately, it is hard to know whether I infused the picture with meaning or if meaning was there. Shooting on film requires a much more conscious and deliberate practice, which seems to translate into images with more depth of expression. I wonder if this translates into the image, or if this is part of my experience of taking the photograph.
The project was based on a book called The Beast In the Nursery by child psychotherapist Adam Philips. By using slide film and a camera that reversed the image through the view finder, together with being in a studio, my experience as the photographer was completely different to any experience I have ever had. If my subject in the picture was to commit suicide, my picture would tell a haunting tale, like the one taken by Dauthendey. There was a moment when I felt a strong sense of my subject as a child, his large body sat on a tiny stool, awkwardly making his body contort to look like the sculpture next to him. I wonder if my experience of feeling that shift back in time is what Benjamin would call part of the optical unconscious. A particular structure of vision that is not limited to the visible but gives my subject the power to present something to the camera, which is more than what I would expect to see as a photographer. Phillips, A., 1988. The Beast in the nursery. 1st ed. London: faber and faber. PRODUCTION & PRESENTATION COMMUNICATION What techniques you use to produce, display, or disseminate your images (fine printing? Instagram? Digital postproduction? Fly-postering?). How does the presentation play into the meaning of the work? Use this box to discuss the way that your work communicates: Intellectually? Emotionally? Viscerally? Physically? All of the above? What kind of an experience are you hoping to give to your viewer and how does your presentation and technique play into it? As a photographer I am hoping to give the viewer a moment of ‘feeling’. A memory that they have forgotten, deep in their subconscious, which is then sparked by my picture. A pang of regret or a twinge of sadness. A moment of recognition that someone has gone before them and has experienced that hard to describe feeling. The still life below was part of my Beast in the Nursery project it shows the remnants of childhood and the ‘crutches’ of adulthood. There are many symbols in this picture, and my hope is that some viewers may connect with the content. I would like to explore some different ideas on presentation, as I often feel uninspired by pictures on a wall. SUBJECTIVITY How does your own position as a ‘photographing subject’ play into the production of the work? What do you ‘do’ as a photographer? Are you involved in social exchanges with portrait subjects, for example? Do you put yourself in physical danger to take your pictures? Do you work in a studio or out in the world? As a photographer I like to disarm my subjects and lure them into revealing something of themselves. I feel that I often use either empathy or vulnerability in order to get a shot. I have preferred to take spontaneous shots with natural light, but having experienced the studio in my most recent project, I can see that it is still possible to create moments that are true and not contrived. I think the act of taking a photograph is something I enjoy as much as the end result. I have naively walked onto housing estates run by gangs, and only then realised why they didn’t want their picture taken for my project. Most of the time I feel people love the attention of being photographed, it puts them centre stage for a moment, and makes them feel special and listened to.

Philosophy Question Description Write a philosophical analysis paper of 1000-1500 words on the
Description Write a philosophical analysis paper of 1000-1500 words on the essay at the following link:http://classics.mit.edu/Plato/crito.htmlHere is the basic idea: First, read the assigned article several times. When you think you understand it, select an aspect of the article that you find particularly interesting, troubling, exciting, confusing, or problematic. “An aspect of the article” does not necessarily mean a particular section of it; it means a claim or set of claims to which the author is committed, either by explicitly arguing for them, or implicitly presupposing them. Your paper will introduce the reader to the point you will be making, carefully reconstruct and explain the aspect of the article you will be focusing on, and make an argument that evaluates that aspect of the article. The conclusion of your argument is your thesis and is the point you are making with the paper. See below for more details about each of these parts of your paper. Writing StyleYour analysis should be concise and thorough. Do not engage in:- Unnecessary editorializing- Pointless repetition- Personal attacks on the author or questioning of the author’s psychological motives- Complaining about the author’s writing style or choice of words Ideally, every word of your essay should contribute to establishing your thesis. In short, always strive to express yourself in the simplest, clearest, and most precise terms possible. All direct quotations must, of course, be identified as such with a citation. However, in general, an essay of this type should make minimal use of direct quotations. As a rule, one should only quote an author if the precise way in which he or she has chosen to express something figures essentially into your analysis. Never simply substitute a quotation for your own summary of what the author is saying. FormatYour analysis must contain the following three sections, in this order:- Introduction- Summary- Critique Be sure to identify each section. In other words, at the top of the introduction write the word “Introduction,” etc. A Conclusion section may be added, but this is optional. The critical part of your analysis should demonstrate an awareness of other relevant readings assigned in the course (this won’t be much of an issue for the first paper, but will be for later papers). You should be careful when you are reproducing criticisms that are made by other authors we have read. Be sure to attribute those criticisms to their sources and to reference them with proper citations. You should be careful to include or consider important criticisms made by other authors when they are clearly relevant to your own concerns. Follow these specific instructions for each section, to the letter: IntroductionThis section must accomplish the following tasks in the following order, preferably by devoting a single short paragraph to each task. Identify the article, and describe in one or two sentences what problem(s) it addresses and what view(s) it defends. State precisely which aspect(s) of the article your analysis will address and precisely what you intend to accomplish. This must not be a vague statement like “I will evaluate the author’s views…” or “I will show where I agree and where I disagree….”. Rather, it must be a very specific and concise statement of the case you intend to make, and the basic considerations you intend to employ in making it. (You will probably find it impossible to write this section before your analysis has gone through the rough draft phase.) SummaryThe rules for constructing a summary are as follows: For the most part, you should summarize only those aspects of the article that are relevant to your critique. If you summarize more than that, it should only be because anything less will not provide the reader an adequate understanding of the author’s basic concerns. Do not produce an unnecessarily lengthy or detailed summary. As a general rule of thumb, the summary and critique will usually be roughly equal in length. The summary must present the author’s views in the best possible light. It must be a thorough, fair, and completely accurate representation of the author’s views. Misrepresentation of the author’s views, especially selective misrepresentation (i.e., misrepresentation for the purpose of easy refutation) is EVIL and will be heavily penalized. The summary must contain absolutely no critical comments. (This restriction does not prevent you from expressing some uncertainty about what the author is saying, however.) The summary should be organized logically, not chronologically. Each paragraph in the summary will ordinarily present argument(s) the author makes in support of a particular position. This means that, depending on the organization of the article itself, a single paragraph from the summary may contain statements that are made in very different places in the article. The summary itself should be organized in a way that makes the author’s views make sense. Under no conditions are you to simply relate what the author says the way that s/he says them. A summary that goes something like: “The author begins by discussing…..Then s/he goes on to say……then, etc.,” while not evil, is VERY BAD. CritiqueIn this section you will present an argument that in some sense evaluates what you summarized in the previous section. Your critique should be organized in a way that reflects the structure of your summary. This is easy to do since you have selected for summary only those aspects of the article about which you have something to say. Be sure your critique obeys the rules laid out in the Writing Style section above. Here are three different approaches to doing a critique (select only one method to write your analysis).1. Define your project in terms of arguments and views that you find problematic. In your critique show how the author’s conclusion does not follow, either because(i) the author’s reasons are false, or (ii) the author’s reasoning is mistaken, or (iii) the author has failed to make other important considerations that tend to undermine the conclusion.2. Define your project in terms of arguments and views that you basically agree with. In your critique, consider ways in which the author’s views might reasonably be criticized. Then attempt to strengthen the author’s position by showing how these criticisms can actually be met. If you use this technique, be sure you don’t consider criticisms that the author actually does respond to in the context of the article (unless, of course, you think that the author has failed to answer the objections effectively).3. Define your project in terms of arguments and views that you find interesting, but which you are currently disinclined to either fully accept of fully reject. Carefully articulate the strongest considerations in favor of the view and the strongest considerations against the views. Then carefully explain why you remain undecided and indicate precisely what sort of information or arguments would be required for you to be able to make up your mind. ConclusionIf your analysis is sufficiently complicated, it may help the reader to briefly recapitulate the steps you have taken in reaching your conclusions. The conclusion should be very short and it should contain no new information or claims. This restriction prevents you from making closing comments which are not sufficiently articulated in the body of the paper.
