Talking about who my favorite characters are is such an interesting thing bc actually out of all the games I've ever played, I can count on one hand the amount of times I've had a favorite character. And it's less than five. My favorite characters (in no particular order) is:

Owain (Fire Emblem)

Apollo Justice (Ace Attorney)

Nahida (Genshin Impact)

Link (Legend of Zelda)

That's literally it. And in terms of characters I like (one step below favorite), I'd say it's the Ace Attorney cast and some iterations of Zelda. Everyone else is under that.

Ngl I'm still not over the sheer grind mindset of Allan Melville to kill his lover, preserve her soul, bury it into the body of an infant, protect that infant growing up, all for the sake that she lives and escapes her fate. Truly the man of the century.

Another isekai idea that's sorta been done before that I like is the one where mc's soul was switched birth? Aka, their true world is actually the isekai world, but a mischievous spirit switched their soul with one from the real world (earth). So growing up for both souls, due to not being compatible with their bodies, they were always sickly, etc. This is due to their souls trying to go back to their original body. Anyway, a simultaneous trigger of death ends up happening to both souls and they're both ejected from their bodies and sent back to their original true body.

The way I want to make this different is that both souls were loved in the world in which they were raised. Their families genuinely loved them. However, only one of the families, the family from the isekai world, knew their souls were switched. This is due to the presence of magic and divine power in that world. They knew a spirit stole their daughter's original soul and replaced it with what was essentially an imposter, but by the time they found out, they didn't care anymore. They were in love with their daughter. So they did everything they could to keep her soul tied to the body that didn't belong to her. But much to their dismay, the inevitable ends up happening.

Their daughter has a close encounter with death, and when she opens her eyes, she doesn't recognize them. She doesn't know the name in which they're calling her by. The daughter in which they loved is gone, back to her true world. And they will never get her back.

That's from the perspective of the family. But from the perspective of the mc, they essentially woke up in a world that they don't recognize. They find out the switch which happened before their birth and are basically told that they cannot go back. Not only can they never see their family from the real world ever again, but their family will also never know what happened to them. They are stuck with this face they do not recognize in the body of this family's beloved daughter that they will never see again. Even though theyre the real soul and that's their real body, they are paradoxically a stranger and an imposter in this isekai world.

Tbh I just want to write something realistic when it comes to isekai. I want to write an MC that has body dysmorphia upon getting a new face, body, and essentially new race. I want them to feel utterly alone. I want the isekai family to have mixed feelings and resentment to their technically real daughter. It's not their fault they returned. And yet, them returning took away the daughter they actually loved. I want the angst of never seeing the people you love ever again. I want the oldest son of the isekai family to tell them, "We don't want you. We /never/ wanted you." I want the mc to slap away the isekai mother's hand telling her "you're not my mother. You've never been my mother." I want these people to be hurt and resentful. I want it to be ugly.

But I also like.... want acceptance. I want understanding. "You're not my real daughter, but that doesn't change the fact that you're scared and alone." "You may not be my real family and you may miss the girl that got stolen away, but I see that you still care." "We're both damaged and hurt, but that's nobody's fault. At this point, all we have is each other."

It's hard justifying my main characters at this point bc they're all just me in different flavors. I wanna write an mc that works a supervisor position in administration that is knowledgeable and does accurate work, but procrastinates for days not doing reports and whatnot only to bang it all out in two hours at the end of the month.

Fe soc has this way of communicating that is more of an interview than a conversation. But like.... an interview that asks very dumb questions. Very obvious questions or questions that don't matter or add anything to the conversation. Some have this underlying anxiety when they speak as if they're afraid to offend, but in doing so, they keep the conversation as bland as it can possibly be.

What they don't realize is that an interview is not a conversation. And yet, they're extremely other-focused, as if if they concentrate completely on the other person without giving any attention to themselves, this will keep the person interested. As if saying that they themselves are not interesting enough to pay attention to. It reeks of low self-esteem.

Conversations are an interchange. People converse in an effort to connect. If you focus solely upon the other person, the only person that's doing connecting is you. You are connecting to them, but they are not connecting to you. In order to keep people interested and engaged, you need to be willing to share about yourself, talk about yourself, etc. Give your opinion and thoughts. Give the other person something they can connect with.

Another story idea I have that I only have the concept for. Story where mc has a very quirky, very weird chuunibyou friend. And the friend just talks straight nonsense. Warning mc about the dangers of the dark gods, rules of the mirror world, etc etc etc. Even warning mc not to do certain things, go to certain places, listen to certain music, etc. And like they keep this up even after middle school, high school, and college. Everyone thinks this person is a straight weirdo. But bc mc is a nice person, they stayed as their friend despite everything.

Then one day, the world gets turned upside down when beings of the abyss invade the real world. Think Weirdmageddon from Gravity Falls. Suddenly the logic and rules that govern the real world don't hold away anymore. Apparently everything this chuunibyou friend said was true.

Now here's the thing. Throughout the whole course of their friendship, mc actually listened and remembered everything that their friend said. They avoided everything their friend told them to avoid. Did they do it because they necessarily believed their friend? No. But at the same time, they didn't NOT believe their friend either. So somehow, they are one of the only people fully equipped to survive this new world.

Im trying to talk myself out of writing one of those Solo Leveling/ORV story about an exhausted underappreciated abused secretary that gets so fed up with their job and their asshole boss that they end up snapping and quitting? And on the way, they're caught in a rift/dungeon? And awaken to become an S-Class Secretary. Not a Hero, not a Healer, not an Alchemist. A secretary. And their first main mission is to make coffee for their boss 10 times.

And they're mad. They're furious. They're one of the few Awakened and the class they're given is to be a subordinate submissive slave to someone above them. They're done. They're so done. Fuck the system. Fuck destiny. They'll use the skills they were given to pave their own path in life.

Long story short, this is the origin story to the person that becomes the biggest and most influential information broker on the dark web.

I want this person to have been the head secretary to the CEO of a huge hero's guild. Like one of the top 3 hero guilds in the nation. So they're privy to A LOT of information not open to the public. And the skills they start with and eventually gain and improve through time are very "secretary" based, but in reality are absolutely op abilities in general.

Like one of their abilities, "Make Coffee" is an ability that boosts productivity while also having a natural tranquilizing effect on others. "Professional Talk" is an ability that can immediately, not necessarily calm someone down, but turn around tense situations into something calmer. As that ability grows, it is able to enable the speaker with jargon dealing with different fields of work. "Meeting Minutes" is an ability that allows the user to transfer spoken word to hand/digital writing live and without mistake. It is also able to create accurate summaries of what was said. "Database" gives the user the ability to automatically create and organize data into reasonable and logical categories. At further levels, that ability stores all data within the user's mind.

What I want the mc to become is actually essentially a villain. A spy. I want them to be the person data security professionals warned workers about. They are not a hacker, not in the typical sense. But there are ways on getting tons of data and access without hacking. I want them to be a master at social engineering.

I am honestly of the mind that, barring mental disorders, the aro/ace orientations do not exist. But at the same time, those labels are the only thing that can properly describe my experience with attraction.

Thinking about that post giving a Victorian child a warhead or a cheetoh or something gives off the same vibes as giving a person of today the shoujo manga I grew up on....

The way Japanese otome isekai go, it's like the fls are manhandled into a relationship and are very much not interested in their lovers even after they get together and are more interested in living their lives.
