A *little* bit late, but here's my remix of @cosmicalart's piece for @coartremix 2024!

I really loved Skye's concept and wanted to challenge myself drawing the background and a lot of people together (at a table specifically). It was a STRUGGLE tho, I wanted to redo it, but I'd already spent a lot of time on it ("do a high angle, 3-point perspective!", I said. "It'll be easy!", I said).

I wanna keep working on this thing in the future tho so in the meantime I'll have it as my home screen to remind me that I need to go back to it at some point.

I'm so excited to share my Carry On Art Remix! I was so blown away by @alexalexinii’s art that I couldn’t just do one artwork, I had to do three!

This was my first time participating in an event like this and I really enjoyed the challenge. I don't think I would've tackled an outdoor scene if it weren't for this. Thank you to @coartremix for hosting such a fun event!

My Carry On Art Remix for @arthurkko 's beautiful Ebb versus merwolf !! This was the piece I really really really wanted to do because I love dark landscapes (even though I hate drawing backgrounds so honestly what was I thinking 🥲)

In this AU the goats are nocturnal so they can munch grass and stretch their wings in peace (unless a merwolf decides to escape the moat and hunt them).

Happy Carry On Art Remix, friends! I had the honor of remixing one bit of @letraspal's domestic snowbaz art series!

Look at how cute they all are!! I love Annie's art in general (I think I've remixed or been inspired by her art a few times outside of official events) and this art was simply too cute!

So I decided to draw Sophie and Petra being Simon's shoes and Swithin and Baz walking in to investigate the mischief. My brother and I used to love doing this to our dad and make him walk around with two full children clinging to his feet. I can tell you from experience as a teen babysitter that it's very tiring.

The original piece has a certain dramatic impact that I really enjoyed, with the grayscale and a cool, powerful Baz with Simon at his back. It made me think of fashion editorials. So I decided to take that and turn it up a few notches by going for a moody photoshoot~

i thought the idea was really cute and decided i wanted to go about it with a different pose while still following the same concept! just thought it would be cute as a sort of hug as well :)

Carry On Art Remix

When I first saw this art by @krisrix , I wanted to spend hours staring at it. I wanted to trace it. I wanted to eat it. So I jumped right away at the chance to remix it for @coartremix. Seriously, I was so excited that I started making drafts as soon as I sent in my selection.

To me this Simon at his most clean-cut hero. He's in his uniform, wearing his cross and wielding the Sword of Mages. He's full of magic and purpose, sure that he's doing the right thing. Kris' digital colour effects make him look almost painfully magical, right before he goes off.

Since I was going to do this in a traditional medium, I decided to take away the magic. This is a Simon who's older and sadder. His hair's a mess, he's wearing an old, stretched-out top and using a broomstick as a weapon. It's not actually a scene from canon, just more the vibe of Simon after his magic and purpose were gone. But his expression is unchanged. He's still just as dangerous.

I decided to take the tender drawing and make it sad(er) and more intimate with them in pajamas. Also I challenged myself to try color instead of just black and white (used watercolor)

Thank you so much for the tags @artsyunderstudy , @blackberrysummerblog , @that-disabled-princess , @orange-peony , @roomwithanopenfire & @monbons ! I'm currently laid up in bed with a cold, so I spent the day knitting and watching Bridgerton. I bought some yarn at the LA Yarn Crawl on Friday and I was eager to cast on. I'm working on the Agnete Cardigan from PetiteKnit and I'm always fascinated by her construction techniques. It's my first time knitting with mohair and it feels like a cloud!

Before I got sick, I did manage to get a fair amount of drawing done too! I finished my COBB artwork, which I'm super proud of and I was playing around with thumbnails and sketches for other drawings. I just can't get enough of drawing them as kids! The third drawing was really nice to work with my partner to conceptualize what Dev might look like as an adult

GROJBAND: ROCK & REMIX - MEET KIM KAGAMI !!

Kim Kagami:

Kim Kagami has a hard time making friends. A Games Design student at ACUA, Kim was the only member of her band, the Newmans, to be accepted into the university, which eventually resulted in her losing the band, as well as her now ex, Carrie Beff. Kim journeyed into adult life, without the aid of her sister and friends, which proved rough for her. To people she doesn't know, Kim can come off as rude, closed-off, and possessive, especially in regards to people spending time with her sister, but those who get to know her are quick to find out she is talkative, anxious, curious, and almost naive in nature, and uses a lot of her surface traits as a crutch or coping mechanism. A semester into her time at ACUA, Kim meets and makes friends with Laney, who invites her to spend some time with GrojBand- which at first, goes badly. Through a lot of hard work, and effort, Kim eventually makes friends with GrojBand, becoming an honorary member of sorts, sometimes even joining them on stage on rhythm guitar! Kim finally feels happy with herself and her friendships, but she worries what her old friends, especially Carrie, will think about these new developments.
