Here is my little piece for @carryonthroughtheages! It's based on a photograph I love from the mid 1800s. This ended up being a fun value study- I had a hard time balancing the sepia tones of old daguerreotype photographs while maintaining value!

OK you know what is so funny to me, I love Fiona but I think it's hilarious how her punk clothes, attitude and apartment mask how she is such a spoiled entitled princess. Shes living off her trustfund, She does not believe in the council being democratic, she harps on Baz about how they own everything (Watford, council seats, etc) how she should never be punished for ANYTHING cause she's a Pitch. Nico even says when they were kids they got away with everything cause Natasha couldn't bring herself to punish her baby sis. She believes she's the state (she will hunt vampires except the ones she likes cause what she wants she gets). Even teen Bazs unpleasant political views probably came from Fiona. I love that Baz is fully aware of this, he loves her but he knows how ridiculous his aunt is. And I'm sure Simon, who was an angry, poor, disenfranchised youth who has been screwed by the system sees Fiona who uses the rhetoric and fashion of angry, poor, disenfranchised youths who've been screwed by the system for her *aesthetic* is all 🙄😒

The way to make characters feel the most real is by knowing all their signs and tells. Thank you Mrs. Rowell for knowing Simon and Baz’s signs and tells because they’re very relatable and feel very real. Anyway the real point of this post is that when Simon is nervous he messes with his hair and when Baz is nervous he clears his throat.
