Black Eagles Students Ranked!

I’ve decided to do something risky and rank the students from each house! I don’t know which one I want to choose yet, so maybe this will help! Let’s start with the Black Eagles!

Warning: This is just an opinion and if a character is ranked low it doesn’t mean that I don’t like them! I just might not be the biggest fan of them yet!

8. Hubert von Bestla

This list was really hard to make because I don’t dislike any of the Black Eagle students. I put Hubert at number 8, because all I really know about him is that he’s Edelgard’s servant and that he likes coffee. I want to know more about HIM, but I’m afraid he’ll just play off Edelgard for most of the game.

7. Ferdinand von Aegir

Ferdinand seems like an ok guy. Very peppy looking and I like his whole rival thing with Edelgard. I also love the history with his family and that one of his brothers got kicked out. I feel like he’ll have interesting dynamics with Edelgard and with his family. I feel like his design is just a bit plain though.

6. Linhardt von Hevring

Linhardt is a pretty interesting character. I honestly relate to being sleepy all the time. I also stay up too late writing and doing homework (It’s actually midnight as I’m writing this). I am also very passionate about my work. His design is just ok to me. I need to get to know this guy more before I can really put him higher on the list.

5. Dorothea Arnold

Dorothea has an interesting design to me with the choker and band like uniform. I like that she can sing and that she’s the only commoner within the Black Eagles. She also treats everyone equally. The hat doesn’t really do it for me, but I get why it’s there.

4. Petra McNairy

I LOVE Petra’s design! Her braid is super pretty, she looks strong, and I don’t know why she has paint under her but I’m living for it! Petra is also special that she is the only foreign character in the whole cast. The only thing is that we don’t really know her personality yet. I still love her and she’s this high for a reason, but I need to see her supports and cutscenes.

3. Caspar von Bergliez

(Just figured out that you spell it CasPAR not CasPER) Look at this boi! I love his design, especially the haircut! It’s so unique! I also relate to Caspar because I am the middle child. Caspar is hard working and believes in justice! I know his supports are going to be super cute and he is going to be my S Support for the Black Eagels if same sex marriage isn’t in the game.

2. Edelgard von Hresvelg

Edelgard is more interesting to me after the 5 year skip. Before it, I find her to be a bit bland. Don’t get me wrong, I love her design! She’s beautiful and powerful! I just find her 5 year skip design to be a lot more interesting! She also has a hardened personality which I want to learn more about! Edelgard is practically the poster child for Three Houses and I find her interesting enough to be number two!

Bernadetta is shy, sweet, and super cute! Her pose and design are so cute to me! I know she is going to have great supports where she comes out of her shell! I want to protect this girl with my life. Plus I get too absorbed in my hobbies too. Berny will be my S Support if this game allows same sex relationships! I love her as a character and really want to see tea time with her!

Word Count: 1,101 words Pairing: Caspar von Bergliez/Reader Summary: The best time for declarations of love was after a rough battle, right?

A/N: This was commissioned by a lovely person! If you’re interested in commissioning me/helping me out, see this post! 

You had seen Caspar briefly that morning.

You hadn’t been paying much attention, sitting at the dining table with your food half finished, doodling in your notebook as you tried to think of anything but the upcoming battle. You hadn’t confided in many your apprehension, but knowing where your loyalty lay, you would fight alongside your friends until the very end. It just so happened that one of those friends popped into the same dining hall you were lost in your thoughts at, and decided it was the perfect moment to talk to you.

“Hey!” You manage to not ruin the doodle you’re working on even when you jumped in surprise, turning to face Caspar with wide eyes before your face relaxed into a smile. You should’ve known it was him, he almost had an obligation to break the peace when rooms got a little too quiet. “What’re you drawing there?”

“Just a little something… I’ve heard enemy troops have been spotted getting closer to the perimeter.”

The conversation continues from there about what the two of you were to do, about the reason behind this war, and the people fighting it. Caspar seemed to have reservations but he was also determined to properly serve the person he was working under, and you could understand exactly why he felt that way. It’s what you admired about him so much, his tenacity, his willingness to throw himself in one hundred and ten percent, Casper was a true knight, through and through.

The battle hits quicker than you thought it would.

Your first thought is with Caspar, and his with you, but you knew to survive that you had to think of yourself in this moment. With each arrow that flies by you, with every ally you see go down, after each enemy you strike down with your own two hands, you realize how fleeting life could truly be. You had held something inside of you for so long, your feelings for him, and had never had the chance to tell him how you truly felt. You don’t realize that he’s thinking the same, even as he swings his axe, pushing through the opposition, wanting nothing more than to know that you’re okay.

But he’d have to live to see that.

Caspar wished he could say the battle was over as quickly as it came, but it seemed to last unbearably long, the enemy refusing to give in even as their numbers dwindled to near nothing. Life seemed to be a blur, his body working in auto-pilot, even as victory was won and cheers began to ring out across the battlefield. He could barely see straight as he stumbled around, being led by his brothers in arms to get taken care of at the closest medical station. His thoughts, now that he was no longer under the immediate threat of death, were on you.

It’s by pure luck that you wander into the same medical station, eyes sweeping over the crowds of people to see if you can find exactly who you’re looking for.

Caspar looks stressed, worried, blood and dirt on his face that he hastily tries to wipe away when your eyes meet. You’re filled with relief to see him, stumbling forward and through the throng of soldiers in your path to reach him. Though the two of you hadn’t ever established anything romantic, it just felt more than natural to be in each other’s arms now, something you’re positive Caspar wanted just as much as you did. Your face gets buried in his neck and he nuzzled his nose into your hair, appreciating you, every bit of you, that was still alive and breathing and in his arms.

“I-I was worried that… I’d never get to see you again and I-“ You pulled back to look up at Caspar with surprise, you don’t think you’d ever heard him sound like this before; his voice was shaky, like he was on the verge of tears and struggling to keep his eyes dry. “I’m so sorry that I never told you how much I cared about you. How I wanted to spend my life with you. But I can’t keep it inside any longer. I have to… I have to tell everyone how much I love you!”

“You could also just… tell me that, and not everyone else.” Your heart is overwhelmed with positivity, with love and joy and other indescribable feelings that made you want to burst. You could already see the other knights turning to look at the two of you curiously, wondering exactly what was going on, or perhaps finally registering the loud declaration of love in Caspar’s unmistakable voice. “Can we go somewhere private?”

His entire face is burning now, not just because he practically screamed his love in your face, but because now you wanted to be alone with him? He hadn’t even considered if you returned his feelings, or if he deserved to have someone like you love him, he had just gone ahead and selfishly imposed on you without thought of the consequences. It’s not the first time he’d ever done it, and he doubted it’d be the last, but he allowed you to push him out of the medical tent and away from the crowds of people until the two of you were finally alone in a corridor.

“Caspar…” You hummed out his name, holding his hand in your own. “I… I love you, too. And it makes me incredibly happy to hear that you feel the same.”

“No way- Really?!” You giggled into your hand at how surprised he looked. “I can’t believe I got someone like you to fall for me. Now I- Well, I can’t really think of what else to say. I mean, I have a lot more to say to you but I just… Can I kiss you? Is that something I can do?”

“Yes.” The corners of your mouth quirked up into a small smile. “You may kiss me, Caspar.”

He warily leans forward, fingers cupping your face as he slowly leaned closer and closer. He hesitates briefly when your noses brush against each other, realizing how close you were, realizing how he probably smelled like blood, sweat, and dirt… But it didn’t really matter anymore. He was swallowed up entirely in his feelings for you, in being given permission to be this close to you, and he planned on living in the moment for as long as possible.

Moments like these didn’t come often, but when they did, Caspar knew he’d have to give them his all.

༓Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd Dimitri is that single dad who has no social life outside of work and family, and it’s noticeable that Dimitri has no idea what he’s doing as a parent. But he is a good father who helps with homework, and attempts to make meals but turns out burnt often. All single moms are in love with him, however, Dimitri is completely smitten with his kid(s) teacher - you. It’s been forever that he has been with someone so it’s painful to watch Dimitri flirt with you. He’s so helpless. If Dimitri can find the strength to ask you out, the date will be at a fancy restaurant where you discover that he is big money.

༓Caspar von Bergliez Casper is that single dad who is so active and supportive in his kid(s) life that it can be overwhelming, sweet yes, but overwhelming. He is also the ‘cool’ dad who lets his kid(s) stay up beyond late and eat junk food because so long they pass their grades, it’s fine right? Teachers either love or find him annoying, and Casper hopes it’s the first for you. His crush on you is so painfully noticeable, even others will tease him about it. If the chance comes up, Casper will show off his athletic body and skills. Otherwise, he is awkward and stiff when it comes to flirting with you, and please accept his invitation to a date. If you do, it’s probably going to be an outdoor event, sports, or picnics (his kid(s) say that is a good first date)

༓Dedue Molinaro Dedue is that single dad who people are scared of at first but come to realize that he’s just awkward, and is respected by all teachers and loved by all moms. His relationship with his child(ren) is the cutest and will do anything for them even if that means letting them put ‘cutesy’ hair clips in his hair or makeup on, or do tea parties. Dedue makes their favorite meal every day and will cut the veggies into cute little animals/flowers. Dedue has a big crush on you, however, he’s so shy about it and probably will neither talk to you nor avoid you. Until his kid(s) ‘bully’ him into talking to you. It will take a lot of time for him to ever ask you out, but the first date would be one where Dedue invites you to his house so he can cook food for you

༓Hubert von Vestra Hubert is that single dad who intimidates other people and doesn’t talk to almost anyone besides his child(ren) or you. He is a little stern when it comes to his kid(s) grades but there is always a reward for finishing it or getting good results on the report card. Hubert is a quiet man so he doesn’t talk much, but you can tell how much he loves his kid(s) by his actions. Perhaps it’s because he doesn’t talk much but Hubert enjoys messing with you which ends up with some weird sexual tension between you both. If Hubert doesn’t feel like messing with you, the conventions with him can be quite pleasant. To be honest you might not even realize he likes you before you’re asked out. If you accept the date, it’s going to be a traditional one; movies, dinner, etc.

༓Claude von Riegan Claude is that single dad who is popular and loved by everyone and was most likely a star student back in his school years. He is supportive of all of his kid(s) decisions and will give good advice. But is not above teasing them, and his kid(s) might view him as the embarrassing parent because he will find enjoyment in blasting loud music to annoy his kid(s). You aren’t safe either, another victim of his teasing and playfulness. Claude is shamelessly flirtatious to you, and a little dramatic with it as well (jokingly blowing a kiss at you and winking). The relationship between you guys is odd for adults, acting more like goofy teenagers. Claude doesn’t hide that he’s crushing on you and probably already asked you out. The date is going to be another traditional one; movies, dinner. But the two of you guys will be out late in the night, and by the time he is dropping you back at home, both of you are giggling.

༓Jerzita  Jerzita is that single dad who doesn’t socialize with anyone but his kid(s) and possibly you if feeling courageous and not too shy. Jerzita is super sweet to his child(ren), always complimenting them and saying ‘I love you’ to them, and rewarding them. He wants to spoil them with the world, and would if he could. There is no way you can’t tell Jerzita likes you with how often he’ll crack a small smile and blush around you while to everyone else he’s closed off. He is unsure of what to do and is far too shy to do anything in person so usually Jerzita will ask his child(ren) to give the gift of flowers to you instead. It’s both sweet and funny, mainly because of how annoying his kid(s) are becoming because of their dad’s shyness. If Jerzita can find the strength and courage to do it, he will ask you out on a date. If you accept, it’s going to be a short and simple one where the two of you go out on an ice cream date.

So. Caspar. Fun kid.

CASPAR is one of the Black Eagles at Garreg Mach Monastery’s Officers Academy ; he’s the second son of a noble , but unlike the others which were destined to gain inheritance or the like , Caspar . . . wasn’t the firstborn , and he didn’t have a Crest , so he really had nothing going for him in terms of status aside from “hey I’m part of this family.” His father was the Adrestian Empire’s Minister of Military Affairs , and with a war hero father and an older brother with quite the rep , he had a lot to prove himself for.

So !! That’s why he ended up in the Officers Academy to begin with ; he decided that he’d make his own name for himself and prove his own worth , so he’d became a great warrior of his own volition at the academy rather than piggyback off of his noble background.

Character wise ?? He’s a fun one.

Caspar is the EPITOME of ‘chaotic stupid’ but he’s also got a huge heart - he’s very hotheaded , impulsive , and he does a lot of things without thinking. His heart is way bigger than his body , and he actually cares a lot about people and isn’t afraid to show it. His strong sense of justice is always something he prattles on about , AS MUCH AS . . . to often feel guilty about things he really shouldn’t , or aren’t his fault.

But sometimes u gotta point out to him he’s doin’ somethin’ wrong because . . . he’s not gonna know.

He’s very gullible n a lot of things tend to fly over his head and that’s why I kind of use the term ingenuous to describe him - bc he’s very innocent in a naive sense and often doesn’t get a lot of things somebody more streetwise would get. He’s quick to judge but also takes things at face value and can’t really read between the lines that well. BUT you find that’s a huge part of his charm , bc Caspar likes looking for the best in people , but also will beat your ass if immediately he sees you’re up to no good.

And this is why he’s so impulsive again - acts without thinking because he acts a lot on emotion , such as in his support with Byleth when he immediately moves to get some thieves away from hurting a group of kids . . . but years later , those same thieves attack soldiers under his command , and a lot of them don’t make it. He doesn’t really know the possible ramifications of his actions , but that doesn’t mean the outcomes are all bad. But he feels guilty seeing the damage he caused because he KNOWS that isn’t what he wanted.

But he’s an extremely caring & honest person and extremely trustworthy - like Caspar doesn’t know how to stab anyone in the back. He doesn’t know how to lie. He’s a good boy n he does his best and yeah he’s a little thick-headed bt that’s okay !! It’s okay to have a heart bigger than your brain n’ Caspar’s got a LOT of heart to fill the entire army !!

CASPER BECKHAM .... so. fun,

SO SORTA LIKE PRE-SNAP , he came from a wealthy upbringing but due to be the non-favored child , didn’t get the inheritance aka his dad’s clothing company.

so what does cas do in response ?? WELL , he pretty much has his entire family breathing down his neck to work in the company still as some kind of lower position. but he’s not really content with that and wants to move onto something he made himself.

and what does he do ??

he . . . becomes a streamer ??

his family does NOT approve that he chooses to use internet stardom as his career - but he gets really popular and that’s how he can support himself when they eventually kick him out.

so he gains that internet fame as a popular gaming streamer named “SHORT KING” and he’ll pretty much do... anything on camera he wants or his followers find funny.

and that’s it tbh.

in ct ?? he really is v neutral to the change versus fodlan but he’s also... skeptic to trust things bc the war is still heavy on his mind and he lost a lot of people he knew to it.

he’s kind of acting like everything is fine bt,,, is it really ?? lmao.
