Today I learned about Cebuano Wikipedia
#went to look up an area in my country (which is Georgia. take a moment to note that this is nowhere near the Philippines.)#there was an article on it but it was available in ONE language. not georgian. not english#cebuano. which is a filipino language. and it has an insane amount of articles.#basically all thanks to one guy on Wikipedia#they’re mostly written by a bot he made#it is the language with the SECOND MOST articles on Wikipedia. after English#Cebuano has 20 million speakers while English has over a billion and they have almost the same amount of articles on Wikipedia#how I haven’t stumbled upon this before. I do not know.#I’m a little shocked actually. just given the sheer amount of articles in this one language. how am I only just now learning this
