What do you think about Anti Cedfia Week?

To be completely honest, sorry, but I don’t agree.

I’m going to preface this by saying that it’s completely fine to not like or even hate Cedfia or any ship. Your shipping preferences are valid, and you should do whatever makes you comfortable including blocking people or tags.

Anyway, I have no issue with Cedfia. I can see the appeal (like literally no one treats Cedric as nicely as Sofia does, especially at the beginning of the show) and in some situations I even like the ship. I understand why people see this ship as morally wrong and while I can see where they are coming from, the vast majority of shippers try to make the ship as comfortable as canon ages allow (most depict them as adults where they can both consent to the relationship). I highly doubt that anyone in this fandom thinks that canon age Cedfia would be okay in real life.

Also, another thing to consider is that shipping in fandom is different from what people might write or find acceptable in their own original fiction. I don’t think that the two should be held to the same standard, since you can control everything in original fiction, while in fandom, the characters come with preset ages and personalities. Cedric and Sofia’s relationship is one that is very inspiring and falls under some tropes that people appreciate in romantic stories. Though there are alternate ships for Cedric and Sofia, unfortunately none of them fall under the exact same dynamic that the shippers like. So because ages are fixed in fandom, unless you’re writing an au, you’re going to have to ship the characters with their age gap, even if you wouldn’t write such a large gap in your original fiction.  I think people are too quick to assume that others are shipping them for immoral reasons, instead of just liking their dynamic. 

Onto the topic of Anti Cedfia Week, sorry, but I can’t agree with it if its only purpose is to hate on a group of shippers. I feel that events like these are unproductive and will only polarize the fandom. In the end, we all joined fandom because we wanted to have fun, and this should be a place where everyone can express themselves and their love for the show. Events should also be fun, and I think it will be better to focus on ships that you are passionate about instead of hating on ships that you don’t like.

Concluding with a statement that this is not meant to target anyone and is just my opinion, so please do not take this post as an invitation to harass anyone involved in either event. I know people on both sides of this, and I really want this fandom to get along.

Cedric is exactly 30 years older than Sofia, he's an uncle figure to her. It's like shipping Roland and Amber, it's nasty as all hell. It doesn't matter if "tHeyRe nOt rElaTed", they almost are.

Reminder: Cedric and Roland grew up like brothers, making Cedric an immediate uncle figure for the kids. Cedric was changed by Sofia because he loves her, but not romantically. He loves her like a neice, he deeply cares about her like family. Shipping never made sense.

Before you argue that you wait till she's an adult to ship, that's not okay either. In fact, that makes it creepier on Cedric's part. Cedric help raise Sofia. Sofia looks up to him like an uncle, Cedric sets an example for her like she's a neice.

Yes, maybe Sofia might get romantically confused in her adolescent years, possibly mistaking the familial love with a romance, but she'll grow out of it and realize that she just deeply admired Cedric. Honestly, I don't think Cedric would ever return the love, seeing as how he sees Sofia and Calista in the same light. He might akwardly brush it off until it goes away, and it would never be more than that.

When they're older, they will probably have a very close uncle-neice relationship. Nothing more. So please please PLEASE stop shipping Cedfia. Not only is it promotiong pedophilia, it also makes no sense story wise.

Please don't fight me, if I came off rude, didn't mean to. I'm just very passionate about hating any pedophilia whatsoever. If I got anything wrong, you can just tell me lol.

Well, I mean, you aren't treating shippers with respect. You are making posts trying to make people feel bad for something that makes them happy. You say in your last post that you don't like that people are "hating you over stupid ships" but is that not what you have been doing for awhile? Many of your posts come off as looking down on people whose ship you don't like and if you keep hassling them they aren't going to want to interact with you. Just focus on what you like, ok? :)

I was using my logic on the ships I don’t like and I find wrong. I’m trying to show people why I think said ship is wrong. I want people to understand my point. I might come off as looking down on people but I’m not. Gababel, Esteomi, Cedfia and Shuriki x Esteban are just my NOPTs (Also for the last time the reason I don’t like Gababel is the fact Isa was 10 when she met Gabe who was about 18 for the first time). I’m just voicing my opinion with my poor social skills. I’m trying to be respectful but some times I don’t realize how other people are going to react. 

At the end of the day these ships go against my personal morals

I think we should thank the antis, honorable mention to Ameliathefatcat, for helping us with the cedfia week. Their hate has hyped us all and it's going to be the best cedfia week ever.

Ever since they started with their harrassment I've seen the ship only grow and grow, they only help us to get more shippers. All I know is that anytime they publish something I get more and more notes.

(Also, what was that about going to hell??? I don't know much about how God's mind works but I think He'd prefer a person to have fun with their ships over a person to harrass people on the internet 🤷🏽‍♀️)
