Anyways here’s my doodles for a possible luna and celestia! They’re ancient alicorns, ascended during a great war that would later shape equestria as a primarily pony continent. (The modern alicorns are made with love. The ancient alicorns are made with desperation. Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker are not accidents.)

She dared not step too close to her sister anymore since she would only be turned to ash and the whole affair was so tiring. But it wasn't a big deal anymore, she wanted to be alone when she ate herself alive because what else could she possibly do? The insignificant creature she existed as was being consumed and reformed like clay into something new, a crude imitation of her former self, and nopony says anything but it's not like they're scared to it's just because they think it's funny that little sisters are worth even less than invisible gods. And every night she could feel fangs boring holes through her head and could hardly think through the moments of blinding pain but it was kind of unremarkable. It was a familiar feeling like she had waited all her life for this moment she was destined for. It was painful and it was beautiful and she was nothing at all.

Remembered that one comic where Celestia uses an amulet to transform into a non-alicorn, and thought that could be a cool way for her to sneakily appear in G5.

And yeah, they do destroy the amulet at the end of that comic, but it took me too long to realize that.
