The holophants remind me of something REALLY specific but I can't remember exactly. I can picture even it but don't know where it's from. Were they inspired by anything (a movie maybe, or a tv show?)

They probably look like a design that existed before but their design is kinda based on the whole “'mysteries super enigmatic alien race based on cephalopods to show how “inhuman” they are”, but executed in the silliest way possible and essentially just a cuttlefish on chicken legs
