The morning routine of Nami's family is featured on the front cover series this month! Seeing that Bellemere is alive and well and gets to be with her daughters is so sweet.

The chapter title is "The Beginning of Hell."

It kicks off this time with the group taking part in a foot race, for PE class I figure. Look at little Choppa giving it his best! I'm rooting for him.

On the next page, Usopp then begins explaining rumors of abnormal animals being spotted in the area, a lion with a human face and other descriptions of creatures found within the walls of Impel Down in the main manga, and that the area is known as "hell."

Robin chimes in and mentions a blue snake, then wonders about Luffy, if he's near the front of the race.

And at the front of the race, we see the captain trio being competitive goofs! Along with Zoro, Killer, and Sanji and the rest of the Sabaody Supernovas. All competing for first place. Urouge being in this panel looks so out of place haha. Blud thinks he is on the team.

The group soon approach a fork in the road and ah, thank you mysterious figure. I'm sure your intentions in changing the route are nothing but pure.

That alternate route leads us to a cave and now I understand why rumors of this place being hellish popped up, those statues are seriously nightmarish!

Gotta say that I really love the atmosphere here, it's so ominous.

Hmm, I get the feeling this is not the way they were supposed to go. Though I suppose that's what happens when you follow directions from a sketchy figure. But we are here now and see that Kaido!! is day drinking in a hellish cave by himself, then challenges the group. Very accurate Kaido behavior no doubt.

This lack of subtlety is perfect for him and I have to wonder, what is his end goal here? For now though, I am glad to see Academy circling back to him, after a lot of interesting alternate Wano story elements have been built up since chapter 30 or so.

A very action-centric Academy chapter this week. Law made a plan, though this group is 100% going to ignore him to some degree hehe. Luffy and Kidd, naturally, already have.

My favorite part of the chapter is seeing iconic scenes drawn in a different style. Sohei Koji's character designs for the manga are more rounded than Oda's, and the way he inks and lines has its own look as well. I think it works well for the tone of OPA.

The two big Kaido scenes of the chapter I want to highlight are him transforming into a dragon.

And his first Thunder Bagua.

Minor shoutout to Koby as well. He got to look cool for a bit.

Next chapter drops on the 5th/6th of June!
