The first thing she registered as she woke was an insistent sound. Elena had left her window open before she slept, but now it seemed as though a gush of wind was making her regret her decision. The window was banging against the wall, and she got up slowly, and closed it. She felt an odd sensation, the fear that she was being watched, but then this paranoia had begun the moment she learnt about the sacrifice.

She inhaled sharply and backed away. Maybe a cup of coffee, or going to Stefan's might help with the fear crawling under her skin. Elena made her way into the kitchen slowly, her limbs still sleep heavy, and made herself coffee. It was such a shame too, she'd finally gotten some good sleep. While texting Stefan, she wondered if she'd be able to sleep again tonight, with Klaus' shadow looming over her and made her way over to the door. She opened it with the intention of leaving, but the moment she looked out, she hesitated. A feeling of weariness settling into her bones as she glanced about. Everything seemed fine but something felt wrong.
