It is so, so important to Luffy’s character that he doesn’t demand that Robin live if she doesn’t want to. He’s all about That Freedom, and he’s exercising his freedom by rescuing Robin (and by extension Franky), but after all that’s over and they’re not threatened or pressured by enemies, Robin in turn has the freedom to do what she wants. And if she wants to die, or leave the crew, or whatever, Luffy’s going to let her. I’m sure he’d be upset about it, but he’s not going to get in her way.

the symbolism in ch390. the bike as a metaphor for tianshan and their development. mgs saying "we're gonna fall" represents him knowing that his life is gonna go to shit and trying to warn ht to stay away and ht saying "im not scared of falling" cuz he doesnt care and he would absolutely go to hell and back for mo. ht holding onto mo just letting him know hes there for him. mo saying hands off but both him and ht know he doesnt mean it because he doesnt make a big deal of ht touching him like he used to. ht saying "im not letting go" because hes stubborn as hell and hes gonna stay by mo's side regardless of what happens and he wants mo to know that

This is such a derpy expression by Usopp, but he just got thrown onto a roof by a bunch of giants, so I’ll let it slide

It feels so much more heinous to run pirates through a kangaroo court instead of just having them go through an empty building. It adds an element of petty meanness, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a guy in a room somewhere who said, “You want a jury of your peers? I’ll give you a jury of your peers” before dredging up a bunch of condemned pirates willing to do whatever the Government said in order to stay their own executions. The Government knows what a truly just system looks like, and they’ve decided to make a mockery of it

Luffy’s entire reaction here is just...so good, but I like the little bit of misdirection by Oda. In the first panel it looks like he’s cupping his hand to his mouth so Robin can hear him, but nope. The lad’s just digging for gold.

Mr. 2 really is just the nicest guy. Baroque Works was a company built on mistrust, with low ranking members doing everything in their power to move up the ranks, up too and including murdering their superior officers, but he still doesn’t hesitate to go out of his way to save a former coworker who likely wouldn’t give a damn if their situations were reversed.

Mr. 2′s already lost his crew to Hina. He knows how strong she is. And maybe there’s a little bit of wanting revenge in his actions here, but more likely it’s just another one of his acts of selfless friendship.

This is the best use of onomatopoeia, and I think it’s much funnier that we don’t actually see Usopp Sogeking land
