Do the mods not have a customs ping they could use instead of pinging everyone for every customs drop? I'm tired of opening the server expecting to see an update about the site and instead there's more ugly overdesigned customs that'll rot on the ML for the next half a year and never get drawn.

Pretty much the same issue as the previous post but yeah I can't imagine setting up ping-able roles again would be that? Hard? Then again idk much about discord ig

Sick of all these chams getting absolutely no attention from their owners. Fr tempted to go through every single cham on TH and if there’s been no new art in (x period of time) message the owner and ask if they wanna let me have the character

Some people don't post their art to Toyhouse, some people prefer writing and other projects that they -again- may not post, and others may just prefer rotating their characters in their head than creating tangible content for them. The idea that a character is 'going to waste' because they're not being used in the way you would use them is wack af

In replying to the last anon regarding the site; google is a free app that lets you see how extensive and expensive a site can be. i dont want to sound like a bootlicker toward the mods but let me give you a lesson

making a site from barebones is an expensive job for a multitude of reasons. namely server upholding; seel 100% a lot of money but not a lot to hold a server with thousands of images, thousands of individual pages of the ML, shop, items, and events, accounts, currency, and inventory. not to mention the key word "coder" implies a single person was working on the site. thats a lot of work.

encryption, site registration requires 100% account privacy and that means from hackers. lorekeeper holds in a valuable encryption service so your data doesnt get hacked and your account can be bled dry. funny from a species full of fluffy lizards, but what should i say? people scam in this community. making a site requires a lot of paid time to focus on a good encryption service and one that can work without hackers breaking in.

account linking. sites like dA and TH require some sort of accessibility for other sites to give up the necessary data to link accounts between sites from what i recall. it requires some sort of legal agreement.

making a site isnt easy, neither is it cheap. all i hear is the constant "seel has enough money" argument. it isnt about the money, its about accessibility to what can be done. using another site is a good blueprint to grow the species. rather than complain be glad the site isnt going to take a year to be done.

i did some calculation and i realized i'd spent over $1000 on chimereons in the past few years... i don't regret it entirely because i love my chams, but i think this realization has lead me to vow never to spend another dollar on the species. i think it took the group basically dying on hiatus for me to realize it. oops.

I can say with absolute certainty that you're not the only one, and good on you for being able to step back and realize it!

Nothing wrong with spending your own money on stuff you like, it's just important to weigh your values at the end of the day and decide where most of that money should be going. Sometimes it's on lizards, sometimes it ain't

A little birdie told me that we will all get a free MYO slot when the hiatus ends

Absolutely no clue if this is true so take it with a grain of salt, but it would be a great way to get people back on board and interested once the website is up and running. Not to mention it'd be able to prove the power and necessity of the website if it could handle that many MYOs and approvals

Ngl, I can feel chams are dying after the their hiatus. I'm looking forward for their website sure, but honestly I'm getting bored of them that I'm slowly losing interest on getting more chams/myos and just make one my own.

I wish there are mini games or events or something similar to keep the members entertained while waiting for the website to complete.

At least having something going on would be nice, but as it stands I've gotta agree with you, it's been pretty stagnant

No clue why they couldn't let the volunteers run some mini event in the meantime, getting rid of them altogether just feels odd to me

Chimereons are NOT beginner friendly and it really sucks because I wanna get into them but I missed my chance years ago.

Really wish I could get one but trading is hard since everyone just wants swaps + the hiatus is going on so it's not even POSSIBLE to trade rn until it's over.

Just feel sad about missing out is all, I would love to own a cham but I don't have hundreds to spend on silly chameleons.

Chimereons really aren't easy to get into as much as it sucks to say. I wish you luck getting one in the future, but really I wouldn't beat yourself up about not having one- at the end of the day it's not worth your energy to feel down about when it isn't your fault

not going to lie, i still feel the past regret trading my cham years ago for another species i was invested because i wanted a character that i will have a long term using

but noting it was in the past, i started caring less on chams now and drifting way so i feel healthy to remove myself from it

If you ended up with a character that you feel more connected to then the trade was likely for the best anyway

90% of custom chams feel like "I paid for the whole trait list so I am using the whole trait list" rather than actual useable characters. At some point in a whole screen's worth of custom chams there was only one that had no sort of form/color change. Guys its not a competition for who can slap the most random shit onto their cham to the point its barely even drawable

I mean it's their money, not to mention traits like form change/hivemind are custom/adopt exclusive traits. Ofc they're gonna want them if they're already going out of their way to spend what's often upwards of $200

Anon, do you mean when they drop adopt batches for their birthday?? They do have a specific role that they ping for mod customs unless you forgot. I get that the @ everyone ping for the adopts is a little annoying, but the mods get to do it for their bday once a year now it seems. Which makes it a special occasion for them. It feels like ppl are trying to find anything to complain abt during the hiatus. We don’t even get a lot of pings anyway. I think you’ll live.

Aren't there roles to be pinged for adopts/raffles/custom slots? Why do they keep pinging EVERYONE?

Oh, because the role assignment bot doesn't work unless it's for raffle roles? Invite Carlbot. It takes 5 minutes to set it up and make it work. It's not that hard. Stop pinging everyone for your overpriced and basic designs.

They used to use them just fine for their intended purpose before the hiatus, not sure why they aren't using them now tbh?
