90% of custom chams feel like "I paid for the whole trait list so I am using the whole trait list" rather than actual useable characters. At some point in a whole screen's worth of custom chams there was only one that had no sort of form/color change. Guys its not a competition for who can slap the most random shit onto their cham to the point its barely even drawable

I mean it's their money, not to mention traits like form change/hivemind are custom/adopt exclusive traits. Ofc they're gonna want them if they're already going out of their way to spend what's often upwards of $200

Anon, do you mean when they drop adopt batches for their birthday?? They do have a specific role that they ping for mod customs unless you forgot. I get that the @ everyone ping for the adopts is a little annoying, but the mods get to do it for their bday once a year now it seems. Which makes it a special occasion for them. It feels like ppl are trying to find anything to complain abt during the hiatus. We don’t even get a lot of pings anyway. I think you’ll live.

I can see the confusion since on some occasions mods will drop adopts with customs available as well, but yeah the differentiation between the two is still there which is good

Do the mods not have a customs ping they could use instead of pinging everyone for every customs drop? I'm tired of opening the server expecting to see an update about the site and instead there's more ugly overdesigned customs that'll rot on the ML for the next half a year and never get drawn.

Pretty much the same issue as the previous post but yeah I can't imagine setting up ping-able roles again would be that? Hard? Then again idk much about discord ig

Oh, because the role assignment bot doesn't work unless it's for raffle roles? Invite Carlbot. It takes 5 minutes to set it up and make it work. It's not that hard. Stop pinging everyone for your overpriced and basic designs.

It's so hilarious that the mods keep posting their customs even with the hiatus is going. And it's more infurating they still post those, now that the updates about the site is once a month, like. What you guys are doing? Is going to be almost a year and there's no solid progress besides "Uh. We're still working on the masterlist. Thanks for your patience"

And also these "private tester" of the site, are probably friends with the mods, and not just randomly selected people. Ofc, nepotism on its finest.

I somewhat get customs/adopts still being open since the mods themselves aren't.. doing the actual coding for the site? I think? But either way it does leave a weird taste in my mouth I'll agree

Not sure if you’re still active, but going to throw this in here anyways. I actually really do enjoy chimereons. But as the years go on I notice that their gachas increase in price and with that I feel like they’re trying to make it <worth it> by piling on traits and making <super fancy designs>.

While I’m not against the gachas, I hope with the opening of the species we could possibly see an additional gachas of just, very simple designs for cheap like the gen1 gachas. Along with whatever fancy gachas they want to do.

A lot of the chimereons that come out of the new gachas hardly look like the species sometimes, though some do still look really cool! That being said though, I really wish that there was more availability for simpler designs, it also makes them easier to redesign and customize than trying to work backwards from a very complex design!

I feel everything from this Lorekeeper feels really weird. They show that they are unable to do something different for their LK, which doesn’t really make sense to me. I have already seen beautiful websites with cool UI made by them, but I don’t know the reason why they can’t do that. The only thing I think that can prove it is the time, or possibly money…

I hope that the website is at least functional and easy to navigate. Seeing that they took a year to get the BASE of their lorekeeper done, I’m worried about how they’re going to make the community active again. I wish they would give us a cool MYO Event or some MYO compensation for everything.

Ngl with how many trades they'll have to update immediately after the site's opening I doubt we'll see an event right away

Are we going to ignore the fact that some items from the bakery, for no reasing, are rising up for +$10 when the site is up??? Like out of nowhere??? I really wanna assume this was a typing error from the mods / the site coder part but... Kinda shitty to raise the price like that when it has been for years the same price, just for a quick buck ... I guess inflation finally reached out to cs species :/

Man, I got into the chimereons after a long time working hard to get a measly cham, I gave up on getting items after that cuz is this hiatus simply delaying everything and the mods have "so much work to do on the website" that they open customs at least once a month and post them on Masterlist right after, I saw someone on the server who was basically thinking about giving up on getting items on the discord server as well. I',m so pissed.

I imagine you're definitely not the only one with a design/redesign rotting away because you can't grab items for it rn, that's got to be incredibly frustrating and I'm sorry you worked for so long just to be put in stasis

I understand the mods work hard. But I've seen numerous arguments in the design/redesign channel on discord and even in the freakin masterlist because a cham's colors are too bright compared to the original or a cool redesign idea can't fly because if they let you keep it, they're gonna have to permit everyone else to do it too.

It's not even huge things to argue about. A user with a black and white chimereon added a color but made it too red, or a chimereon's horns don't match the og so they're gonna have to redraw and recolor it until it's right.

The mods seriously wear you down until you agree with them. Sometimes it doesn't feel as fun anymore.

If that rumor is true (everyone gettLMAOs free cham myo when the site is finished and the hiatus ends) it sounds more like a joke because I recall that in past announcements for event rewards, the mods are hesitant on rewarding so many MYO slots because there are tons that still have not been designed on the ML. Even though rewarding more MYO slots would make the group more welcoming to new users that only show up to get their own funky lizard. The reality of it seems more like another raffle and only a select few will win. The fact they bring up that the ML is full of undesigned MYOs is only because:

People are catering to the group's rules. They can't make their chimereon design because you have to grind/trade to get desired items, while there is a cap on how many Beetoles you can earn from gift art. (Thankfully there isn't a cap on what's earned through selling items and commissions to my knowledge.) plus, the shop that gives you the fun stuff artists use more often is closed. If you wanna put sprinkles on your cham's ass better wait for the next event that's several months from now. (Or if someone is feeling happy enough to trade.)

It's insanely disrespectful to the artists because you don't know what they have going on in their lives. They can't always draw for the group.

On the other end, there are group members who snag onto and hoard up to 20 undersigned MYOs and advertise them in trade channels only seeking swaps. Meanwhile new users have to pay out the ass for adopts and customs if their luck has been sucking the past ten free raffles they entered.

Not to whine and complain, but it sucks to see new users and users that don't have any chams anymore trying to get one, practically struggling. I think a few implements have made it easier for FTOs and NOs to get a cham but it feels pitiful.

Not to mention its against the rules for these users to complain in chat about how they didn't get a cham this round because it "brings down the mood" I've never seen it get out of hand to the point it's a fight. It just sounds more like "Hey, you're ruining the mood for the WINNERS!"

If users are purposely guilt tripping or harassing others for their characters, yeah, that's bad. ADDRESS THAT. but don't silence people because they're upset about YOUR weird system.

In the end I just think that the number for FTO free raffle should be increased (to 20 instead of 10 at least)

And users who won a raffle, bought an adopt, or got a custom, shouldn't be drawn again in the next event they attend so it gives other people a slightly higher chance to win. (If people get chams from trades and stuff that's fine, it's just the group and mod hosted stuff)

I was wondering how someone may go about acquiring their first Cham?

As of right now the group's on hiatus, so the only way to get chams atm is through Mod Customs/Adopts and trading with other people (usually on Toyhouse since they don't like advertisement in the discord server)

Typically they host events that have the potential of winning chams/myos, but those are on pause until their new website is complete

In replying to the last anon regarding the site; google is a free app that lets you see how extensive and expensive a site can be. i dont want to sound like a bootlicker toward the mods but let me give you a lesson

making a site from barebones is an expensive job for a multitude of reasons. namely server upholding; seel 100% a lot of money but not a lot to hold a server with thousands of images, thousands of individual pages of the ML, shop, items, and events, accounts, currency, and inventory. not to mention the key word "coder" implies a single person was working on the site. thats a lot of work.

encryption, site registration requires 100% account privacy and that means from hackers. lorekeeper holds in a valuable encryption service so your data doesnt get hacked and your account can be bled dry. funny from a species full of fluffy lizards, but what should i say? people scam in this community. making a site requires a lot of paid time to focus on a good encryption service and one that can work without hackers breaking in.

account linking. sites like dA and TH require some sort of accessibility for other sites to give up the necessary data to link accounts between sites from what i recall. it requires some sort of legal agreement.

making a site isnt easy, neither is it cheap. all i hear is the constant "seel has enough money" argument. it isnt about the money, its about accessibility to what can be done. using another site is a good blueprint to grow the species. rather than complain be glad the site isnt going to take a year to be done.
