"As the sheep pick their way down the mountain, the weary dogs snatch sleep where they can." ~ Amos Chapple. Next pictures show earlier parts of the journey. The shepherds and dogs must bring the sheep out of the mountains before winter sets in. It's a 12-hour marathon.

After the Abano Pass, the sheep continue down the mountainside.

The sheep on the way down from the mountains must first climb to Abano Pass.

Abano Pass is some distance ahead. This is day 2, as the sheep make their way along an alpine lake, sometimes beset by falling rocks. Photos by Amos Chapple. The Girl in the Band: Bardot - a Cautionary Tale by Belinda Chapple

I read this a couple of days ago. I've returned it to the library, so I'm going off memory.

For those that don't know, Popstars was a reality tv show for finding a manufactured girl band. The first one was a NZ band, Bardot was the Australian version. (from 2000) Belinda says that she has heard that the contracts aren't that much better for the more modern reality show bands.

A couple of Belinda's claims.

The person making the overall decision wasn't the three judges filmed

It was a 5 piece group, but when they got to the final 10, the programme gave each girl Au$1.5k to go consult a lawyer. The lawyer Belinda consulted told her it was a terrible contract, that she & the other band members would make no money & their appearance had to remain unchanged - in other words watch your weight!

Belinda claims the band was disbanded to concentrate on a solo career for Sophie Monk. (NB: Sophie has a different story)

So they had the girls over a barrel, as they knew if they didn't sign the others would. Belinda claims to be the only one that baulked & that her lawyer was able to find out that she was definitely one of the Top 5.

I don't think it would be so bad for the CNCO chicos (it can't be as bad or Richard & Chris wouldn't have been able to buy homes) But I think there are parallels & I'm wondering at what stage the La Banda chicos were given contracts. Top 15 seems the most likely.

If anyone is interested the Australian Popstars is on You Tube. As someone who has quite recently watched La Banda, there are definite parallels. I've just watched the first 4 episodes & one of the extras, so far.
