ornette coleman was talking to charles moffet -they grew up together in texas. ornette said “i really don*t like 5 /1 cadences but i don*t like 4/ 1 cadences either.”.. years later charles  remembered that conversation and said it still blew his mind a bit. 5/ 1 is western harmony think “AMEN” at the end of a hymn tune-or the LvB symphony where he writes V/ I about 40 times in a row .... but 4 / 1 is rhythm. the march time the cadence of industry and the assembly line and “regimentation” and all THAT entails...i don*t like it either i like RAGTIME and the celtic way of playing dance tunes where the fiddler adds a beat to a phrase or drops a beat-just to keep the dancers interested. is this GOING anywhere?  well yes @lesser-known-composers wants to “re-mix” some of my tunes “from the ruins”  yikes so i*m gonna say YES go ahead and re-mix away-hope it is FUN maybe tag me if post any so i don*t miss it  cheers
